Your Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

Thank you for your service and for your shining example of being a servant of our Heavenly Father.

“The path to heaven lies through heaven, and all the way to heaven is heaven.”

To see the world in a grain of sand

And heaven in a wild flower

Hold infinity in the palm of your hand

And eternity in an hour

Reflection

2020-03-29T15:13:00.003-04:00

Warm glow,
Morning light.

Watching from my window,

Waiting.

People pass by,
Cautiously.

Spring snow melting.

Sunshine on my face.

Isolated. Alone. Together.

Perseverance through suffering

2020-03-25T15:08:00.002-04:00

Help is needed in every capacity, all over the world, as people ...

put their lives at risk to care for those sick and dying from COVID-19
look after those in hospitals, rest-homes and respite-care facilities where visitors are now not permitted
remain in isolation at home or in a quarantine centre
try to get medical help because they are feeling unwell
stay physically distant from one another
queue in-line or on-line at the grocery store for hours at a time
work to produce and deliver food to those in need
wait for an answer from a friend or loved one far away
adapt to children being at home and not in school
sit alone with no one to help in a time of need

Know that you are not alone in your suffering and there is hope. God is our refuge, our rock and our strength in times of trouble. Psalm 71

By placing your faith in God you will find inner strength and peace and hope for the future.

Suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character and character produces hope.

Anitcosti Island 2019

We recently returned from a wonderful week on Anticosti Island with Photographer and Guide Rene Bourque of Anticosti Photo Safaris

Some of my photographs of our journey around the island ... a place to connect with nature, relax and unwind, fish, hike and swim (if you're brave, as the water is cold!).

Thoughtful Thursday: Blessing in a Teacup

2019-04-04T12:19:00.001-04:00

My new favourite vessel, and blessing in disguise.

One of a set of four Ralph Lauren teacups

discovered while out shopping.

Being wise.

Tucked away on the bottom shelf of my local friperie;

the entire set acquired for just $Three!

Life is full of surprises

when you get down on your knees

Letting the old stuff go,

there's room for something new.

I like to drink tea first thing in the morning,

before moving on to a good coffee or two.

Thank you for letting me share,

my blessing in a teacup story with you!

Socks for the homeless!

2019-02-06T08:43:00.003-05:00

In December members of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Quebec City decorated our Christmas tree with winter socks!

A friend and her daughter, together with my son and I, delivered these socks to the Salvation Army in Old Quebec on Sunday afternoon. As we arrived, we gave a pair of socks to an old man crouched on the steps of the Salvation Army, and he gave us a big toothless grin and many words of thanks!

Socks are appreciated by the homeless, together with kind words and an acknowledgment they are there. If you see a homeless person, say Hello! It will brighten their day, even if you do not have anything to give.

A gift of new socks is a small gesture of kindness and helps protect and prevent nasty health issues and infections.

Icebreaker are my favourite socks to wear.

When giving socks, give two pairs!

Adult male cotton socks are the most requested by homeless shelters.
