I don't know about you but I heard from other friend that they also use to break their own

kettle like us. It seemed to be no matter what brand, what price of kettle you buy these

days it goes broke but my garden pots are not, the succulent plants enjoyed reused

When you have walked and still walking through the valleys of experience in life, you meet wonderful people that are part of your life forever and helped shape your foundational values to shine more light in the dark. This can be a life-experience walk in your past and still be a connection of dots to your future life. Sometimes what has been done to you in the past is a great ingredient for you to keep yourself humble like fruits bearing its magnificent taste to other people who have tasted it before, still wanting to taste it again and wanting to share it around. Things that happen are never a coincidence but for a reason when you look it back with discernment.

As a wife now, I’m connecting the dots of my life as it needed since when I was single person to MARRIAGE LIFE. The “still small voice” reiterates me in January 2012 about reconnecting the dots of my life gearing towards the choices we have made as a couple that we’re both peaceful about it. We’ll be 7 years of marriage without kids yet, but I choose to submit to my husband not to land a job even if it’s tempting when the Lord God took away the job opportunities I have applied rather to stay home and help my husband what we are passionate about even if it may take us years to do it on the “less road travel” by faith in action. An author once said “ANONYMOUS sufferings are actually the best kind --- in fact our Lord Jesus (Yeshua) tells us otherwise, others might recognize us and compliment us and that, will be the reward but what we do in secret God will reward us - Matthew 6:16-18)”. What we believe becomes stronger like a pillar especially when the sign is not everyone is on your side but they are in fact a great springboard for us (a blessing in disguise) because we’re not doing it to glorify ourselves but to glorify Yahweh God who is Faithful and only Truth! We believe that everyone on earth is here for a reason especially if you find your purpose and passion in life and just ACT ON OUR DREAMS and VISION of burden given to us. My urgent job right here, right now is to complete my husband as Father God orchestrated it for us as a couple uniquely or not the same with other couples. Pastor Jack Hyles put it this way. “Always in the Bible the first command is to the follower. In Ephesians 5:22, for example, it says, "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands." Then in verse 25 it says, "Husbands, love your wives." Who's supposed to start it? The wife! Woman comes to an incomplete man, completes him (Brian), and then receives the benefits of his completeness. Woman comes to an incomplete man and completes him (Brian); that's her job--to be the aggressor, to lead him (Brian) to become a complete man so he can lead her, but he (Brian) needs woman to start him! Then after woman completes man (Brian), she receives the benefits of his completeness!”

Somehow this year 2012 starts, I have personal prompting reminding me back before I went to Bible College after I finished my University degree in Education and had some volunteer jobs which were related to the business industry. For those who knew me and even don’t know me, may ask “how can I be in a job not even related at all to my profession that time” ---I learned nuggets from past experiences and it’s relating now that I’m married to what we’re heading on as a couple. My point is before I entered to Bible College for a short term training that prompted on me; an “ANONYMOUS financial supporter” have already paid my tuition fee for the whole training course in full-term , all I needed to pray about was my allowance then, which the Lord have met in different unexpected ways I can testify & grateful with.

“When someone paid my Bible College tuition fee in full terms ANONYMOUSLY not coincidence because the Lord has its purpose later in my marriage life as one of our foundational values for us to keep growing in our FAITH as a couple when we give; and keep ourselves from pride to what He purposed us to do.” Not only this experience occurred in Bible college but also where I was nurtured young when my parents were pastoring a Church in the Philippines, there were ANONYMOUS givers who just left a big sack of 100 kilograms of Rice in front of the church pulpit when we really had nothing to eat the next day (I’m not exaggerating it) and other things I can testify. That in itself is one of the foundational values I had grown up with to be a blessing to someone anonymously. When we faithfully serve the one who has called us by heart; His provision is in the CALL. It’s all our choice & willingness with patience as one of the fruits of the Spirit of God even if it hurts our guts out to be misjudged; that fruit will bear more fruitage abundantly and exceedingly in due time.

The fact is it’s from the Lord’s Word Himself who says, “When we give, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing like the Pharisees and Sadducees in Jesus’ (Yeshua)’s time who were very religious and proud even when they prayed/fasted in public!”

Matthew 6:2-4 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by men. I tell you the truth; they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

The secret thing is, if we are faithful to do things in small ways faithfully the ONE WHO IS FAITHFUL can trusts us to do things in a big scale in due time. The pity side of it is when someone claiming to be Christians who wants to announce what she/he done or give this or that to other people or to charity they have a long way to understand the ways of God… because if a Christian does it so, how much more the people in the secular world can easily proudly televised it for themselves! I live in Australia and every year, they would occasionally announce a long list in one of the TV programs who gives their charities with their FULL NAME! You know what, even at my husband’s workplace who are not claiming to be Christians, they don’t even want their names to be scrolled on the TV screen how long they have been working there for long years’ service, which was just happened this 2012. My hubby said, because the company is a business, it’s for their marketing strategies and they thought they are doing favour for their employees (although his co-workers can’t see it that way as they questioned why, he said to me). Art Carden, an Assistant Professor of Economics and Business stated “There are, of course, good reasons to be totally open about your giving–when you are trying to honour someone, for example, by naming a building or lecture series or something after them, or when you explicitly want to change people’s incentives. If you just want to give people stuff, though, then your charity is most effective when it is given in secret.”

When Christians are constantly mentioning what they give or done to others the charitable value losses its true Biblical sense as we’ve heard or read in a sermon but not doers of the Word. Watch out their motives later in life I’m not a prophesying this but there’s something why they say so with pride and to shoot other’s ego immaturely as a babe Christian (Hebrews 6:1-2 speaks of spiritual immaturity, which is another topic). If any of you out there struggling to give/help or intended to do it when you have got something to give, stuffs or even your personal time, don’t be discouraged because when your turn comes, the Lord God has already opened that door for you when you have done it in your heart in secret for a heavenly reward not from men.

I thanked God for His PEACE that passes all understanding as a living testimony. The calamities, challenges, and negating words outside our marriage because of the choice we’ve made thriving us deeply and robustly in the Divine Creator’s hands by faith in action. The pruning is great season to bear so that we shall bear much fruits effectively when that perfect season arrives because He’s our Emmanuel “God is with us” at all times. When we learned to separate ourselves from the crowd for a season in the wilderness-walk you learn more deep things from our Lord Yahweh God like Jeremiah have himself “set-apart” to be a prophet although not everyone called to be a prophet but we are all unique and our uniqueness is needed in the world when we learn our Heavenly Father’s secret not only in giving!” Jesus said, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross DAILY, and FOLLOW ME," (Luke 9:23).

Harlequin Flower or Sparaxis

At long last, I've finally found the real name of my unknown Spring flowers in our mini garden, which saturates among our tulips together with the Bluebells accumulating competition. It was a shame because my mother in the Philippines has been asking what's the name and I could not tell the name especially her Harlequin bulbs or corms starting to grow for her first time to see them in real ☺☺☺. Good for you mom, you're able to start your bulbs growing!

Harlequin Flower or Sparaxis is one of the Harlequin types (Tricolor) I only have. There are other "fairdinkum" brilliant coloured Harlequin flowers besides these blooming in the garden but I don't see them much around. The green leaves spiky shapes blend and economize the garden space with other Spring flowers like Tulips, Bluebells and the like.

ABOUT SPARAXIS or HARLEQUIN FLOWER
Harlequin flower or Sparaxis Bulbifera climate is subtropical to cool.

Plant them late Summer to Autumn.

After they flower just simply leave them on the ground

and they keep coming every year for you to enjoy!

Fertilize it if you plant them on poor soil during Autumn

(just before cold season).

Harlequin comes from the Iridaceae family.
Price range is depending on its variety and where you buy them from in Australia:

Harlequin Flower or Sparaxis with Queen of the Night Tulip, Tulip Ad Rem, and Snowy Tulip

Lavendula or Lavender flowers (although not Spring bulb) but it's also blooming in Spring not in Summer. Bluebell flowers were just perfectly accumulated more in 2011 due to longer beautiful cold Winter.

Blaring sunset shining through our mini garden... Tulip names that you can spot in the garden are: Tulip Strong Gold (Bright Yellow); Tulip Barcelona (Purple Pink); Tulip Ad Rem (Bright Orange); Tulip Gerrit van der Valk (Red with a Yellow Edge); Tulip Striped Bellona (Yellow with striped Red) and others you cannot see in the picture.

Again they are Bluebell flowers, Queen of the Night Tulip, Snowy Tulip and the Harlequin flowers of its kind in the garden - hopefully I can find other Harlequin colours for their long lost friends in Springtime!

More view of the Queen of the Night Tulips and the rest of its blooming sisters. The heart-shaped green leaves among those Queentulips are Gotu Kola (Arthritis Herb). The Gotu Kola are already accumulated before I bothered to find its name - I thought it's just a lovely ground cover plants in our frontage house without knowing it's a useful herb (anyway that's another post).

Stain Removal Cleaning Tips

These golden tips are excerpted from Granny's Ideas for Savvy with some environmentally friendly tips included. Any better or other tips are welcome to share on this post.

Treat any spill as soon as it occurs - a fresh stain is more easily removed than a dried, ingrained stain.
Do not rub or brush stains. Blot the stain, working from the outside to the centre of the stain.
For liquids: pour a generous amount of salt on stain, leave an hour, then vacuum. Alternatively, blot with a wad of tissues. For solids: scrape up with the back of a knife or spatula. Do not rub in. Apply appropriate stain remover.
If you begin removing stain with the one treatment, leave it to dry completely before treating other stains or using other remedies. It's only when the carpet is dry that you can see whether the stain has been removed.
Rinse stain with cold water after treatment and blot dry with a clean cloth:

Assemble the following items for your stain removal kit in a tool box, basket or shoe box. Label each item clearly and keep the contents out of the reach of children.

Clean cloths (preferably absorbent towel)
Brown paper or paper towelling
Detergent (biodegradable)
Dry-cleaning fluid (optional)
Dry foam carpet shampoo
Eucalyptus oil (optional)
Household Ammonia (must be diluted before use)
Methylated spirits
Salt
Soft-bristled brush
White tissues

ALCOHOL: apply diluted biodegradable detergent solution, blot dry. Apply equal parts white vinegar and water, blot dry. Rinse with cold water, blot dry.
BALLPOINT or FELT PEN: dab gently with white spirit on a clean cloth. Shampoo with dry carpet foam.
BLOOD: apply cold water, blot. Rinse as many times as necessary, blot after each application.
BURN on a plain light carpet, dab burn with a solution of 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 10 parts water.
CANDLE WAX: place one or two layers of brown paper or paper towels over wax, press with hot iron. Paper will absorb the wax dab with methylated spirits. Repeat process until stain is removed.
COFFEE - BLACK: spray with soda siphon or splash with soda water, blot. Shampoo with dry carpet foam.
COFFEE - WHITE: spray with soda siphon or splash with soda water, rinse, blot. Shampoo with dry carpet foam. If milk stain remains, dab with mineral turpentine and dry-cleaning fluid, sponge with a mixture of 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and biodegradable detergent in 1 litre warm water.
CRAYON: dab with mineral turpentine. Sponge with solution of 1 litre warm water containing 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and biodegradable detergent in 1 litre warm water.
CREAM, ICE-CREAM, MILK: apply a small amount of biodegradable liquid detergent solution to stain, rinse with cold water. >Dab with mineral turpentine or dry-cleaning fluid, shampoo with dry carpet foam. >Sponge with a mixture of 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and biodegradable detergent in 1 litre warm water.
FAECES: remove deposit, sponge with clear water, spray with soda siphon or splash with soda water. Disinfect, shampoo.
FELT TIP PEN: treat as for BALLPOINT PEN
FRUIT JUICE: blot stain with a cloth dipped in a mild solution of biodegradable detergent and water. Shampoo if necessary.
FURNITURE POLISH: dab with mineral turpentine or dry-cleaning fluid on cotton wool, sponge with a solution of 1 litre warm water containing 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and biodegrable detergent.
ICE-CREAM: treat as for CREAM
MILK: treat as for CREAM
MUD: leave to dry, brush or vacuum. Dab stain with methylated spirits then liquid detergent solution, rinse. Repeat process if necessary.
PAINT: most paint stains cannot be removed once they are dry. >ACRYLIC: sponge out diluted biodegradable detergent, dab with methylated spirits. >GLOSS: sponge with methylated spirits or mineral turpentine if paint is wet. >WATER-BASED: sponge out with cold water while still wet.
SOFT DRINK: apply diluted biodegradable detergent solution, blot dry. Apply a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water, blot, rinse with cold water.
SHOE POLISH: scrape off as much residue as possible. Dab with mineral turpentine or dry-cleaning fluid. >Sponge with solution containing 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and biodegradable detergent.
TEA-BLACK, TEA-WHITE: treat as for COFFEE-BLACK and COFFEE-WHITE
URINE: sponge immediately with cold water, blot with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Rinse, blot dry. Shampoo if necessary.
VOMIT: scrape up deposit. Sponge with a solution of 1 litre warm water containing 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and biodegradable detergent.
WINE - RED: sprinkle generously with salt, leave overnight, vacuum. Shampoo.
WINE - WHITE: sponge with solution of 1 litre warm water containing 1 teaspoon each of white vinegar and detergent.

Natural Hair Care Recipes That Add Volume And Strength To Your Hair

Natural hair care is what you need to turn to if your hair has been excessively dyes, bleached, or damaged in any way. Before you start making some of these natural hair care products, consider these hair care tips:

Make sure you are using the right shampoo. Always get a shampoo that is suited for your hair type. A shampoo for dry hair might smell better, but it doesn't mean that it will fit your hair's needs.

Change the shampoo often. Hair gets immune to a certain shampoo if the shampoo has been used for too long. Try a new one, see if you notice any changes.

Apply the hair packs and balms once or twice a week. The more nourishment you provide, the more healthy the hair will be.

Avoid using a hair dryer. It makes the hair brittle and dries the scalp out which may lead to dandruff.

Trim your hair regularly. Remove the damaged ends.

Combined with homemade hair conditioners that are prepared within minutes, the effects that you will get will be multiplied.

Banana hair pack

Ingredients:

1/2 banana

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

1 tablespoon of honey

Mash until creamy. Hair has to be dry to do this. Leave it on your hair and wash out after 20 minutes. After that, use a shampoo.

Milk based Hair Balm

It is simple as this: after you wash your hair, wash it with some milk and leave on for about 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. It helps bring back the softness and natural shine.

Sour Cream Hair Pack

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons of sour-cream

1/2 teaspoon of wheat germ oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Mix it all together, apply to hair and rinse off after 10-15 minutes.

Olive oil for shiny hair

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon of olive oil

1 egg

Mix the two and apply on hair. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash off using warm water, then shampoo.

Egg white for oily hair

1 egg white (more if your hair is thick or long).

Beat the egg and simply apply on dry hair. Leave it on until it is dry and crusty. Wash off with warm water and shampoo. Doing this a couple of times a week will help reduce the oiliness and remove the excess oil.

Hair pack for damaged hair

Ingredients

Juice from freshly squeezed lemon

2 egg yolks

1 egg white

1 tablespoon of honey.

Mix all the ingredients, apply on hair and let it rest for 10 minutes. After that, shampoo and rinse off.

For soft and silky hair

Ingredients

3 tablespoons of olive oil

2 tablespoons of honey

Mix it all well, apply on hair. Wrap the hair with a towel or shower cap and let it rest for 15 minutes. Shampoo and rinse the hair.

Increase hair volume

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of vinegar

1 tablespoon of honey

1/2 cup of warm water

Spray bottle - pharmacy stores usually sell them for a couple of dollars, get a smaller one.
Mix the ingredients in a bottle and shake well
After you wash the hair with shampoo, let it dry a bit.
When it is damp, spray the mix you have prepared.
Massage the scalp so the liquid gets absorbed better
Don't rinse the hair off, simply let it dry

For shiny and soft hair

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of coconut oil

3 tablespoons of sour cream

Mix the ingredients and apply them on hair.
Wrap a towel around it and let it rest for 30 minutes
Shampoo and rinse off well

Grease control

There is a simple way to get rid of greasy hair. Every time you shampoo your hair, mix a little bit of freshly squeezed lemon juice in. Shake the bottle well (you could use a smaller bottle for this purpose) and shampoo the hair. Rinse off well.

This way, you will control the oiliness of the scalp and also, if you have blondish hair, you will actually help keep it light longer.

The bold statement you can read was from a humour category that I surfed on the web. Interestingly it's the same statement I sometimes mention to my husband in humor whenever we heard elderly parents or grannies being hurt or abused in the nursing homes in Australia or the Western Culture in general or any other issues and issues that are not issued on the media at all but through "word of mouth" from sources that were going through the system or institution!

Read what they have to do to them then ask them to tell you what they need to do. Encourage your child to have a go even if they don't think they can do it. Tell them that attempting the work is the most important thing; being right or correct isn't. Take pressure off your child. Praise their attempt. Don't have them sit at a task for more than 5 minutes. After 5 minutes have your child move around, get a drink or talk to you about something unrelated for a couple of minutes. This strategy keeps their mind fresh and they won't begin to fidget or get bored. Importantly though do not allow them to get distracted for too long or they won't come back to do their homework!

Awesome Stress Busting Tip #3 Allow your child some "down time" after school and before homework. Encourage them to play outside, have a healthy snack or talk to you about things that interest them (not anything to do with school). If you can, have some questions prepared for them that centre around the topics of their interests - be interested in their interests! All of these different after school activities will help your child de-stress and calm their mind. It also reassures them that they are interesting, confident young individuals and their opinion matters. It also reassures them that you love them just the way they are.

Awesome Stress Busting Tip #4 If you are encountering resistance to homework and / or tutoring, ask your child what they are feeling. Encourage them to share what is going on in their mind. Your child needs to know they can trust you with their inner most thoughts and that they won't be ridiculed or belittled by you. Sometimes it is useful to share what you are feeling and why - importantly though what you are feeling MUST be positive towards your child not negative. If you open up to your child often they will reciprocate. Often what is bothering them isn't what you would expect. Sometimes it can be something that we do as parents that is the problem. Try not to take this as criticism. It can hurt when our child tells us something we do causes them pain. Listen empathetically then show your child that you are doing your best to change this behaviour. This is your best opportunity to learn to do things better for yourself and your family.

Awesome Stress Busting Tip #5 Often a dyslexic child's bedroom is a disaster zone. Their belongings are EVERYWHERE - usually all on the floor. This can be extremely frustrating for parents. One simple strategy to help control the clutter is to have colour coded boxes for your childs belongings. The aim isn't to have everything neatly put away or folded. The aim is to sort belongings by type. This way the clutter and disporagnisation is contained within a box! Put a photo or a drawing of the types of things that are meant to be in each box on all four sides of the box. This way your child can see clearly what is meant to be in each box. Next draw up a chart with coloured squares on it - each square represents a box. As your child put their things away they tick the square. This way they can see what box to fill next and they gain a sense of achievement as they tick off all the squares. Be aware however that a certain amount of clutter is inevitable especially in the beginning. Dyslexic children are easily distracted from the task in hand. Limit the amount of boxes to four or five in the beginning. If the task seems too big and overwhelming your child won't do it.

Awesome Stress Busting Tip #6 Place a photo board with regular tasks that your child is expected to perform in a prominent place in your home. Have a photo/drawing of the task (eg brush teeth) and space for your child to tick once the task is complete. Have the tasks listed in order of priority. Remember - your child is actually completing three tasks for each task you list - looking at the board, doing the task and ticking it off. They will need guidance in the beginning until they are familiar with the system. Reward your child with praise for using the system. Start with two or three of the most important tasks and add to them once your child is performing them without prompts and guidance.

Stress Busting Tip #7 - helping your child to successfully complete a series of tasks. When giving your child a list or sequence of tasks to perform (such as eat breakfast, get your things for school, where are your shoes?) remember that your child will most likely only remember the last thing you told them to do. They will be so focused on trying to remember what you just said, that they will forget the earlier items. In the beginning, it is better (and less frustrating for all involved) to give one task at a time, with your child coming back to you once the task is complete. Remember to praise your child BEFORE giving them the next task - this encourages them to do the task well, in order to be praised again rather than yelled at.

My Awesome Stress Busting Tip #8 is not hard to do, but it will have enormous benefits for your dyslexic child. Praise your child and praise them often. Notice them doing little things that make life easier - getting their lunch box out of their bag after school, helping their siblings if they have them, putting something away rather than leaving it lying around, or simply being nice. If you praise them when they aren't expecting it, it shows them that you care. Most children with dyslexia have low self-esteem. By noticing and praising small everyday achievements, you are helping their self-esteem rise, as they realise that they are decent, worthwhile people. Most of these children are expecting criticism all the time - they get it at school (aren't you finished yet??) and often they receive it at home. As parents we criticise without realising it (why can't you keep your room tidy like your brothers/sisters???). We need to be consciously looking for the good things our child does, and praising them for it. The more we see and praise for, the better they will feel about themselves, and slowly but surely their self-esteem will grow.

Your Stress Busting Tip #9 If you are becoming frustrated, stop, and consider the situation from your child's point of view. Did we explain ourselves clearly? Did we give too many instructions? Is our child tired/overwhelmed/sad? Often this is easier to do away from your child. Go outside. Go into your bedroom and close the door. Take a deep breath and let it out as a sigh. IT IS NORMAL AND OK TO FEEL FRUSTRATED. It will often seem as though your child is an alien. Once you have considered why you have become frustrated and how your child was responding, ask yourself what you could do differently. Go back to your child (who may still be sullen, frustrated and angry), apologise for your frustration, give them a hug and do something else together. It is important to show your child how you deal with frustration. Children model their behaviour on their parents' behaviour.

Your Awesome Stress Busting Tip #10 Take time out from your regular routine of homework/study, after school programs, etc, and do something fun with your child. Have a themed picnic (Barbie, Star Wars - whatever your child is interested in) or visit somewhere that is special to you and your child. It is important that your child's life isn't filled with work only - they are kids, and kids need to be kids having fun. Often the dyslexic child misses out on fun activities because they take longer to complete tasks and need more homework time than their siblings and friends. Allow regular time-outs that are purely for fun, and are not based on them achieving anything - they are "just because". Every child needs to have fun on a regular basis - for that matter so does every adult. Don't allow your child's life to descend into a grey place of drudgery and never ending work. Do your best to keep the joy and fun in your child's childhood - they only get one!

My Awesome Stress Busting tip #11 is - Teach your child to laugh at their mistakes. All too often our children focus on what went wrong - not what is going right! They often place enormous significance on what they did wrong, and classify themselves as "failures". The best way I have found to overcome this is to point out to my son when I've made a mistake, say "oops, did it wrong" then fix it with the minimum of fuss. It is important to show them that making mistakes is a normal part of life - everyone does it - and that it really isn't that big of a deal. Mistakes can be fixed. Sometimes this is easier than others, but in the end all mistakes can be rectified. Do not make a big production of the mistake (for example - "I'm an idiot!", "I'm a failure!", "I'm so stupid!"). Neither you nor your child is a "failure" or "stupid" because you made a mistake! You are perfectly normal - an ordinary human being doing their best, which is all any one of us can do - myself included.

My awesome stress busting tip #12 is a few suggestions for making learning fun and different. Remember, your child learns by moving. Instead of doing regular homework, have your child act it out. Play Charades - you guess the word or sound they are acting out. Have your child bend their bodies into the shapes made by different letters. Use alphabet letters to make words and sentences your child gets to eat. No matter what you choose to do - keep it short, no more than 5 minutes.

Your Stress Busting Tip #13 This tip is short and simple. If you have access to some nice grass, get your child to run around barefoot. It is truly amazing how quickly a grumpy, frustrated child relaxes when encouraged to do this simple activity. In a few minutes you can resume homework/tutoring/life.

Your Stress Busting Tip # 14 Make time each week to do something one-on-one with your child. Something special you only share with them. It doesn't need to be expensive - even having them help you cook dinner once a week can be special time just with them. My son and I enjoy snuggling on a bean bag - I read him a story or make one up just for him.

Your Stress Busting Tip # 15 Play short games with your child. A simple game like eye spy can lighten the mood and bring laughter into your child's life. Praise often! I can't say it enough. (Well done! Clever answer! That one was tricky!)

Your Stress Busting Tip # 16 This is not a tip really, more of a reminder. Praise, praise and praise some more! In the beginning your child will be like a thirsty sponge. After a while their self-esteem isn't so fragile, and they won't be so needy. While they are needy - resist the temptation to push them away. Continue to look for things to praise.

Your Stress Busting Tip # 17 It is easy to forget to actually say - I love you. Tell your child often. "I love you - you are perfect just the way you are" means the world to a child - especially coming from a parent after a perceived setback.

Your Stress Busting Tip # 18 Remember - there is more to your child than their academic ability!

Your Stress Busting Tip # 19 Here is your tip for this week. Please think carefully about what it says. Your child is incredibly smart. When you believe it - your child believes it. And if you don't believe it about your child - who else will?

Your Stress Busting Tip # 20 This is a truly awesome tip. Create a list of 10 Things I Love About You. Write a list of 10 things you love about your child. Have them write a list of 10 things they like about themselves. Refer to the list often and add to it regularly!

Your Stress Busting Tip #21 My awesome stress busting tip for this week is aimed at helping you and your child put school work into perspective. Try to de-emphasise school work. You don't want your child thinking that school work is all you care about. Yes it is important. Yes they need to do well. But when your child thinks that your love is conditional on their performance at school, it does terrible things to their self-esteem. They (and you) need to see themselves as separate from their efforts at school, and worthwhile regardless of how well they are doing at school. The amazing thing is - once they realise that you love them regardless of whether or not they are doing well at school and that you believe they are smart and worthwhile, they do better at school.

Your Stress Busting Tip #22 Never, ever be ashamed of your child. They are who they are - wonderful, amazing beings.

Your Stress Busting Tip #23 - What is more important? A child who is happy or a child that is desperately trying to please you? If your child is happy, then your home life can be less stressful. A stressed child is an unhappy child. Nothing is more important than helping your child to be happy with who they are. Please remember - not everyone is going to shine in a classroom situation - it doesn't mean they are any less smart - it just means they have unique talents that will flourish elsewhere.

My Awesome Stress Busting Tip #24 is Have Set Routines. Having set routines helps your child to know what is expected of them. If you have routines for the morning and routines for the evening that are followed regularly, your child will come to know what is expected of them, and you won't be constantly chasing them to get their chores done. Your Stress Busting Tip #25 is really important. Remind your child how much they have achieved already. Even in the midst of a "bad" patch, there are things to praise. Your child will be frustrated if they don't seem to be progressing the way their peers are. Help them to see the things they have achieved, and remind them that they are different from a month ago. It helps your child to understand that we all grow at different rates if you can point out some things that their friends aren't great at - but they are, and vice versa.

Stress Busting Tip #26 sounds so simple, but it is really important. Make eye contact with your child often - especially when they are talking to you. This shows them that you are paying attention to what they have to say, and that you think what they say is important. Most attention seeking behaviour comes from your child believing that you aren't paying attention to them.

I hope my Tip #27 will help you get to know your child better. Make a time to have an intimate conversation with your child about things that interest them. If you set a time and a date that is regular, your child will know that they are important to you. Don't use this time to focus on what could be improved. Use it as time to get to know your child better - what their frustrations are, where their interests lie, what is important to them. How many times has a parent heard this question - Why do I have to learn THAT? Stress Busting Tip #28 is one possible way to deal with this question. Does you child enjoy one subject more than the others? If so, it is possible to insert this topic into their other homework. By relating the subjects they don't like to the subject they do like, you can help them to see the relevance of the work. Sometimes maths may be the favourite, other times it may be science or history or sport. All use reading and writing, maths and interesting facts. By pointing out how one subject is related to another, and the need for learning the one less liked so that they can be better in the one they do like, sometimes you can lessen the resistance to doing homework. Reading stories about famous people from the subject they like, showing how maths and angles play a big part in sport, showing simple science in action (motion, gravity, biology) and how it all relates together can often be enough to encourage your child to at least have a go at the work they need to do.

to come up and they do arrive very quick as you never expected it.

Tulip Haters, Why would they be?

Sure it's not a big deal but someone who is doing this every Springtime on our street... there's something wrong in their lives that needs to be fixed. Only them can answer that question in their hearts, soul and spirit.

'Got up today but I went at the back garden instead at the front. When I thought of checking our mailbox, I was bewildered again why these innocent tulip flowers were cut, smashed, some uprooted and scattered on our driveway? It looks like it was done during the day (13 October 2011) as my husband arrives at 5AM from night-shift work but haven't seen it. I woke up later of the day as I often prepare his food at midnight and I work at night as well at home. This was not happened once but it happens every Spring season. What's kind of psychological disorder? Do they hate the tulips, envy the colours, hate the gardener or what? All year round there are other plants but never touched like those poor tulips! We were even out for a vacation overseas not long ago and no plants has been destroyed at all?

Guess what? How timing did they uproot my Queen of The Night Tulip one but the rest were cut off?

What happened today reminds me of the other week when all our tulips are first blooming. I suspected done by a person's foot inside our carport near our fence garden. All I thought was someone's stamped on it and my hubby thought it might be a big rain fall from the carport roof on it (fair enough) but it does not look like it was to me after all this today. Unfortunately I missed to take photo before the first scenario happened but I got a photo of it after the vandalism.

These are tulips that are replanted every year from their bulbs, therefore they grow tall and big. Some bulbs that are not lifted and replanted will stay smaller than the taller ones. Do tulips come back every year? Yes they do come back but if you never lift them for long from the ground they will rot and it cannot multiply as it should be. WHAT ABOUT THE VANDALISM? Why do they do this every year?

I should have updated this blog as often as I can but anyway here's a sample of a simple handmade Macrame Belt upcyled out of Jute yarns. I spotted this very thick Jute yarns from a Bargain or an Op Shop here in Australia when I had time to drop by looking for treasure. I think you cannot even find this thick Jute on the normal shops or warehouse the same lowest price I had bought from the hardware stores. I was able to grab two rolls of Jute yarns from their last stock. You may call it eco-friendly project but I added plastic beads on them that aren't eco-friendly to claim it. Buttons are made of Leather. Watch for more handmade projects I'll be posting on this blog. I need to reorganize my digital photos that I already made in the past years. Time flies quick in our digital age!!!

Natural but modern way to do your headboard by using plywood if you like something natural. Give it a sand and polish shine it with organic or natural paint you can find. I think it's sleek and a great idea with no mocking around for a weekend project.

To believe when all means fail is exceedingly pleasing to God and is most acceptable. Jesus said to Thomas, “You have believed because you have seen, but blessed are those that do believe and have not seen” (John 20:29).

Blessed are those who believe when there is no evidence of an answer to prayer—who trust beyond hope when all means have failed.

Someone has come to the place of hopelessness—the end of hope—the end of all means. A loved one is facing death and doctors give no hope. Death seems inevitable. Hope is gone. The miracle prayed for is not happening.

That is when Satan’s hordes come to attack your mind with fear, anger, overwhelming questions: “Where is your God now? You prayed until you had no tears left. You fasted. You stood on promises. You trusted.”

Blasphemous thoughts will be injected into your mind: “Prayer failed. Faith failed. Don’t quit on God—just do not trust him anymore. It doesn’t pay!”

Even questioning God’s existence will be injected into your mind. These have been the devices of Satan for centuries. Some of the godliest men and women who ever lived were under such demonic attacks.

To those going through the valley and shadow of death, hear this word: Weeping will last through some dark, awful nights—and in that darkness you will soon hear the Father whisper, “I am with you. I cannot tell you why right now, but one day it will all make sense. You will see it was all part of my plan. It was no accident. It was no failure on your part. Hold fast. Let me embrace you in your hour of pain.”

Beloved, God has never failed to act but in goodness and love. When all means fail—his love prevails. Hold fast to your faith. Stand fast in his Word. There is no other hope in this world.

"How Great Thou Art" background story

A young minister’s two-mile walk in the rain provided the inspiration for “How Great Thou Art.” The Reverend Carl Boberg of Monsteras, on the southeast coast of Sweden, was 25 years old when he wrote the lyrics of this song after trekking through a thunderstorm from a church meeting two miles away

This great hymn has a history that stretches back over a hundred years. The original song was written by a young Swedish preacher, Carl Boberg, and first published in 1886, under the title O Store Gud. Boberg wrote a poem, not meaning to write a hymn, but later heard it being sung to an old Swedish tune.

More than forty years later, an English missionary, Stuart Hine, first heard the song in Russia. He and his young wife were missionaries to the Carpathian area of Russia, then a part of Czechoslovakia. There, they heard a very meaningful hymn that was a Russian translation of Carl Boberg’s O Store Gud (O Great God).

While ministering in the Carpathian Mountains, Hine found himself in the midst of a threatening storm. The thunder, as it rolled through the mountain range, was so awesome that it reminded Hine of the beautiful Russian hymn that had already become so dear to him. English verses began to form in his mind, verses that were suggested by portions of the Russian translation.

How Great Thou Art is probably the all-time favorite hymn today. Although its origin had roots in Europe, it was not widely known until 1957, when the Billy Graham Crusade in New York City launched it on a never-ending spiral around the world. It was performed nearly a hundred times during those meetings and countless times ever since.

One cannot sing this majestic hymn of praise and adoration without realizing anew the omnipotence of the Creator who did it all.

It was the silver anniversary of the coronation of Elizabeth II as Queen of England.

At that time, Dr. Jack Hayford of California was touring England with his wife. The celebration, the countryside, and the spirit and enthusiasm of the English people, coupled with the great historical significance of that kingdom, made those two weeks a special time for the Hayfords.

What is a Yabby or a Yabbie - a crayfish from fresh water.

Cooked Yabbies (sorry I already cooked before taking photos)

Yabby Recipe:
What I'm going to share with you today is my recipe version of Yabbies. The taste of Yabbies are similar to Prawn although Yabbies are not stronger taste than Prawns for those who haven't tasted them yet. These Yabbies we bought and brought them from Talbot Farmer's Market in 2008 during their Yabbie's Festival. I think this is an annual event so you have the chance to go there and look for yourself if you live in Victoria. How I cooked to make it yummy is to use Tom Yum paste or any similar from scratch if you want. My measurements of the ingredients are only a guide depending on the weight or pieces of your Yabbies to cook.

Aussie Yabbies from the Farmer's Market

INGREDIENTS

1/2 kilo Yabbies

2-3 tbsp Tom Yum Paste

Chilli of any desired measure

a pack of Button Mushroom

1-2 Pak Choi Leaves

fresh Cherry Tomatoes or

any ripened Tomatoes desired

Spring Onions

Water OR a Can of Coconut Milk instead of Water

Salt or Fish Sauce to taste

Optional

a stalk of Lemon Grass

Seaweeds

Chili fresh or dried

Saute it with garlic if you want.

Best Serve with Cooked Rice in Asian style.

Prepared - Cherry Tomatoes from my garden

Prepared fresh Pak Choi leaves, Spring Onions, Chili from my garden

Cut Seaweeds bought from the Asian market
(often available at the Asian section in the Australian Supermarket)

Add your water for your soup and Tom Yum Paste before Button Mushroom.

Quickly half cook veggies desired not overcooked especially Asian style.

Aftermath for the cat...if your cat wants it though.
