Si tratta di un patchwork di più di 800 floppy disk da 3,5".
Ogni dischetto è stato etichettato con una trama a venatura di foglia, intervallati in un ritmo damascato, se scannerizzato con un lettore, come quelli dei cellulari ne risulta un testo:
un tera non fa primavera.

Significa diverse cose, prima di tutto da lato tecnico, realizzare supporti sempre più capienti è inutile perché parlare di peso di ciò che è virtuale è una contraddizione in termini. Tutto può essere compresso fino a diventare niente, quando ne scopriremo la chiave. La nostra generazione ha giga interi di foto delle vacanze mentre, riguardandosi indietro di un secolo, troviamo lapidi con immagini di morti truccati perché non ne avevano neppure una da vivi. L'altra spiegazione, più sottile, è che tutto il nostro progresso è effimero, non possiamo anticipare la primavera o mitigare l'inverno. Ma se il mondo finirà lo guarderemo in hd.

After a a full degree in a low level professional highschool of graphic and design, I've worked for 5 years for a fashion photographer. In that time I believe that happiness was put your creativity into your job. In the spare time I gave an hand in some friends self-producted short movies.

That was enought for a while.

But something inside me brake out.
I left a job that give me only effort and no pleasure, they asked me so much and I had no reason to give them anymore.

My mind was full of creative things, of avantgardist thoughts.
But I don't wanted to enter in the artist area, here in Italy usually you have to pay to expose, and even to promote yourself, is a trap to steal money from dreamers.
Everyone says that your idea are interesting, and you have to insist. And pay more.

So I choose to do little things, on cheap material, and make some local market to feel what the public response is.

Nothing.

Perché Ubuntu/linux non è adatto al montaggio video?

Ho dedicato un giorno della mia vita a testare sul campo ubuntu studio, la relase gnome specifica per il montaggio video per finalmente decidere se posso abbandonare il mio paleolitico WinXP, ed ecco le mie impressioni.

Installazione di Ubuntu su nuova partizione:
Ottima interfaccia, piena di opzioni e anche uno smanettone medio come me non ha avuto problemi, unica pecca che ti obbliga a inserire una password che ti chiederà poi in continuazione per qualunque piccola operazione.
Primo impatto e software base:
Ubuntu Studio contiene oltre al pacchetto video anche quello per la grafica (pixel, vettoriale e 3D) e quello, di gran lunga il più fornito, per l'audio. Io ho installato quello che doveva contenere i programmi essenziali per il video ma, sorpresa! NON C'ERANO!
Ricerca e installazione dei programmi: È opinione comune che linux sia roba da smanettoni, opinione infondata perché c'è il software center, una sorta di AppStore in cui però è praticamente tutto gratis e si installa con un click. Tutti i programmi del pacchetto erano in realtà comodamente scaricabili da lì quindi ubuntu studio di per sé non serve a niente ma il problema nasce pochi secondi dopo, se vuoi installare un programma che non è nella lista devi smanettare con il terminale!!
Video Editing
Kino: è l'unico programma di montaggio che in teoria sarebbe installato con la "suite", è analogo a Windows movie maker o iMovie (quindi una sola timeline). Lavora in dv e automaticamente converte tutto in quel formato. Ed è lento.
Per la cronaca gli altri programmi sono Blender per il 3D e Stopmotion ehm per la stopmotion.
Cinelerra: il mio vero obbiettivo, è un programma spacciato come professionale e in effetti ne ha le carte, timeline multiple, effetti, picchi dell'audio. Ma si è rivelato più lento di Premiere e ha grossissime pecche nella navigazione tra le cartelle.
Ci sono altri programmi in realtà simili a Virtualdub per la codifica e lo splitting ma non per il montaggio, programmi per VJ, e ho trovato adesso LiVES (LiVES is a Video Editing System) che però non ha le carte in regola per superare neppure un Pinnacle, ormai ho disinstallato tutto pieno di sconforto.
Con la mia bella conclusione pessimista
