UK's first NHS Trust goes live with ITK Spine mini-service

University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust (UHNS) today announced that it has gone live with the first Interoperability ToolKit (ITK) Spine Mini-Service in the UK. The solution was developed by Quicksilva and is enabling the Trust to access and verify patient demographic information faster and more accurately than ever before. UHNS is setting the blueprint for other Trusts that want to access the Personal Demographics Service (PDS), quickly and securely, so that a patient can be readily identified by healthcare staff without going through lengthy NHS Compliance processes.

Quicksilva took a break from the big smoke this year and retreated to the country manor, Bowood, for a ’Fire and Ice’ night. It is fair to say that the dress code in the Quicksilva office is, in the main, ’casual’ but as the taxi’s drew up, Quicksilva employees from far and wide proved that when they want to, they can glam up with the best of them!

To get involved with "Wear It Pink" day at Quicksilva, we decided to not only "wear pink" but to "eat pink" in aid of Breast Cancer Research. We were fortunate to have cakes donated to us by local cake makers, Cupcakes By JoJo, who were happy to support the charity.

The annual E-Health Insider Awards is always a great occasion, celebrating the very best in Healthcare IT and this year’s was no different…again, it was a glitzy black-tie event…again we were sponsors…again there were deserving winners…and again there was plenty of champagne on offer…but this year, for Quicksilva, there was a difference…Gayna was on holiday, and it was therefore just the boys that were out on the town!

Quicksilva's 12th Birthday

We have a count down for all important events on our in-house home page (hQ), this year it’s being doing the daily countdown to Quicksilva’s 12th birthday. Once it reached 30 days Team Admin and Team Design swung into action. Birthday party invites were issued and requests for ’baby’ photos were sent out. Yup we were going to celebrate again the glorious 13th October. It’s a date I remember as it’s 2 years to the day that I joined Quicksilva and thought -"wow what a company they’ve thrown a party for me"
(it was actually Quicksilva’s 10th)!
