Sister Bear Weekend

Bethany brought home Sister Bear for the weekend. I made her for Sarah when Matt and I got married, and now she travels around visiting all the Kindergartners every year. So, at 8 years old, she was in desperate need of a new shirt. Bethany helped me sew her one, and now she looks super snazzy again. Bethany's already planning what we'll make her next time she visits (in 2 years!).

Baptism Liner

My dad asked me to make this liner for a baptism box that his church gives to babies being baptized. Easy project, but it was my first use of my new fabric, so I'm excited!

Christmas in October

I went to an estate sale on Friday, and again on Saturday, and loaded up on fabric. Bethany went with me Saturday morning, and when we got home she helped me sort it 3 different ways before we finally put it away. She is so my daughter!!

The fabric is still sitting in my living room. I just love looking at it.

A Quilt for Hayden (5)

This is the last week of the Hayden quilt. It has to be because he's being dedicated on Sunday. And, as usual, I've procrastinated until the very last second. I quilted Sunday, quilted tonight, will quilt tomorrow, and then try to figure out how the heck to do an actual border on Friday. Oh, and somewhere in there I have to make a quiltie!!!

In other productiveness today: I made a cake for Sarah's 2nd birthday of the year. No pictures yet in case she snoops, but it's awesome! (Awesome for an amateur cake decorator, that is.)

Corduroy Bear

It's back to school time! Bethany's first day of Kindergarten is tomorrow, so I've spent the evening making Corduroy Bear snacks for her class. (They're going to read the book tomorrow.) I even included a pack of Smarties so they can "sew on" his missing button. Fun!

I'm so proud of my little girl - I can't believe I have a school-aged kid!

Tonight I basted the quilt. I bought 300 safety pins for the occasion. Apparently I only needed about 30. Now how the heck am I going to quilt this massive thing?

Kindergarten Pillows

Last week was fairly productive, although you wouldn't know it from looking at this blog. We finished staining our deck (WOOHOO!!!), and I worked on the 10 pillows I'm making for Sarah's Kindergarten class. I made myself a makeshift compass to make these circles out of fleece. I'm resourceful like that!

This week it's back to Hayden's quilt. Seriously.

I started this blog to start holding myself accountable to get some of my project list done. So while it's not exactly crafty, here's another classic example. We bought this stain LAST SPRING! We put it on our basement stairs for when we had time to get it done, and have NEVER touched it again. Until today! I decided I'll never have a perfect, kid-less day to hammer it out, so I'm doing it piecemeal.

What a pretty color! It is almost the exact same color as our outside window borders. Perfect!

We have 2 new gorgeous girls in our family. I finally finished up making their quilties (I'm such a procrastinator!), and with any luck, these will soon be in the mail. Right now, I'm sitting down to unpick a pillow I'm making the girls. I hated the way it turned out the first time I made it, and it's been sitting on my craft table since Christmas. I hate unpicking.

Tomorrow I hope to get that finished up. Can you tell I don't want to touch Hayden's quilt yet?

My productiveness of tonight! The border is complete! Now I just have to figure out what to do now... Perhaps I'll tackle that on Wednesday. (Assuming my family isn't grocery shopping for old people.)

My goal for tomorrow is to finish the quilties for Ella and Etta.

I put in about an hour tonight, and managed to get the fabric strips done. The seams are matching up nicely, so I should be able to get this sewn up tomorrow. I also want to cut my border strips tomorrow. We'll see how far I get!

I'm making a quilt for our nephew-to-be, Hayden. I've started full-size quilts before, but I've never actually finished one. Hopefully his due date will be a good motivator for me!

Tonight I sewed together the small blue and orange blocks:

Tomorrow night, I'll sew all the big blocks together to look like this:

I felt very productive tonight, and I think it's looking good so far!
