Quilts for Orphans is back to continue the mission of bringing warmth to children in need around the world. We were encouraged with our initial success with the Snowdrops Orphanage when we partnered with World Orphans Project in 2008.

Joining Kevin Flick will be Eric Wilka to lead and coordinate Quilts for Orphans. The two of us have 11 years of combined experience working with youth and youth in need. Guided by our beliefs, we hope to continue to help children in need in the United States and the rest of the world. Projects Ahead
Through careful deliberation, prayer, and discussion we have decided not to focus on overseas projects like the one of Snow Drops Orphanage for some time. However, we are beginning with local projects and working our way outward. We already have many projects lined up that can span across the state of Indiana and some projects that can go to any state in the U.S. The Quilts for Orphans Team feels confident that if our projects in the U.S. consistently go well, we will have very few obstacles keeping us from going to other countries.

Our first project will be for a help center, food pantry, and soup kitchen called Our Fathers House. It has a long history of helping families in need in its community as well as having a need that Quilts for Orphans can easily fill. We will be collecting five queen size quilts and fifteen twin size quilts. Once we fulfill this project, we plan on following up with twenty knitted hats, scarves and gloves.

Quilts for Orphans will not succeed or fulfill the needs of anyone without the donations of hand made items from our supporters. We need your help! Tell friends, family members, classmates, or acquaintances who like to quilts or knit about us. In 2008 we worked with another non-profit organization and provided 20 quilts to an orphanage in Ukraine called Snowdrops.

We’re currently redeveloping the structure of Quilts for Orphans. In August we plan on visiting several orphanages in St. Petersburg, Russia, and hope to return in December with quilts and gifts.

We wil will posting information about these orphanages, sharing their needs and presenting our goals. With your help we can achieve our mission of bringing warmth and comfort to those in need.
