Hi Everyone!

Tonight on Google +, my friend Jeneca had an idea...she was going to let us all come up with ridiculous/funny/random/cool sentences and she was going to make a video with all of them put together. Well, my other friend Carolyn, Jeneca, and I made up a bunch of stuff (or otherwise got them from movies/tv shows!) and Jeneca put them all into a video with her dolls! She labeled which quote was from which girl, and I decided to put the video on my blog! :)

Hi Everyone...

Happy Sunday! :) I hope you're having a great day so far. On Friday I started the second semester of school, so only a couple more months and it'll be summer vacation time! I'll be glad when the weather starts heating up. The highest temperature this week is supposed to be 60, so maybe I'll get out then.

My doll Kit has been here for a little more than a

month now, and she's discovered the joys of the computer (although she still wishes she had her typewriter). She's also discovered that we have a big jug of grape juice in our fridge and that her owner is big on doll pictures. So this is what came out of it.

And she also looks cute in Leah's meet dress. ;)

Happy New Year!! :D I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Unfortunately, everything's over now...:( Until Valentine's Day, that is...LOL

This is the last post of 2011. And the last day of 2011. Can you believe it? The year has gone by super fast. Thank you, everyone, for making this year a good one wit

h your support and friendship.

Frankly, I can't remember much that I did this year. I did some blog posts, wrote most of a new novel, wrote the second draft of an old novel, got some new dolls and am currently moving. I made some new buddies and added some lovely new girls to my doll collection. I read some books, found new things I loved, and hopefully I made some kind of change for the better in the world.

Here's to 2012...may it be a wonderful year full of health, excitement, family, love, joy, peace and hope for everyone!

'Till Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!

Today's been a busier day than usual...mostly because of food! This morning, Mimi and I made some rolls for Christmas eve/day dinner. Wow, that dough was sticky. :P They're done now, though, and look great. Yesterday we made a pineapple cake and it's currently waiting for it's icing. A chicken casserole is being prepared right now...it's kind of been a tradition to eat chicken casserole on Christmas Eve...this is the third year we've done it! LOL We're also having ham, veggies, the rolls, and cranberry sauce. Yummy!

I finished dressing my dolls for Christmas this morning...they all look beautiful! We're in a situation where I can't have all my dolls with me right now, but I have all my AG's and Millie. I'm going to try to get some pictures of them. :)

Tonight while we eat dinner we're going to watch A Christmas Carol...it's a great movie! It's the animated one that came out last year (or the year before that, I can't remember :P).

I hope that everyone has a wonderful night tonight and gets some sleep before Christmas. ;) Have a wonderful holiday, everyone!

NaNoWriMo 2011

Hi everyone!

It's that time of year again-time for 30 days and nights of creativity, craziness, and many, many words. Ideas are growing, the world is shrinking as people come together to celebrate this event. What is this event?

Why, it's NaNoWriMo, also known as National Novel Writing Month!

As some of you may remember, I did Nano last year and turned out around 20,000 words on my novel Charlotte. That novel is currently under the # drafting/editing process, and I hope someday to turn out the finished product, where I can actually stand back and say, "This is Charlotte. This is my first novel. It is complete and I'm not going to mess with it anymore." But for now, we move onto other projects.

This year's novel is called...Kingdom! And it has to be at least 20,000 words.

I'm bad at summaries, so don't expect anything fabulous, but here's something to give you an idea about what it's about:

Bethany, the princess of Seretina, has a life that most people only dream about, what with the servants and being the princess and all. Suddenly, her world is shattered when her father, the king, is murdered by no-one knows who-but Bethany has her suspicions. After another attack, this time on the queen, Bethany sets out to find whoever is doing this to the royal family. Along the way, she finds a mysterious letter revealing secrets from the king's past, and a common boy she's attracted to even though he could never be her equal. Adventure, mystery, and tragedy abound inside the borders of this kingdom, only to be revealed to those most worthy.

So there ya go. Of course, my novel is in the early plot stages and not all of these events may happen, but I had to give you something, didn't I? :) I guess we'll see what happens.

Updates!

Hi Everyone!

Wow, I haven't posted in over a month. Too long. Too long. I'm sorry. What will now commence is an updates post, since I have no eloquent speeches to write...

I started school on September 6th. I am now an 8th grader! Yay! School's going very well. :)
I got two new dolls! :O They are from Ginger Brook Hollow. You can see pictures of them on my Picasa. :)
My story blog has a new post on it, and it has been re-vamped with several new pages. Check it out!
This blog has also been re-done, although I need to fix the header. When the leaves turn, hopefully I'll get some nice pictures outside. :)
I'm reading Gone With the Wind and it is an awesome book...but that's not really an update. XD
My cbox was overrun with spammers again. Grr.

Sorry for the lack of posting. :(

It rained. :) And it lightninged!

Yesterday we got quite a bit of rain...woot! We needed it. First we got some in the afternoon, and Mimi (who was visiting) and Michael and I went out onto the back porch and looked at the rain. Mimi and I tried to keep Michael on the porch in case of lightning and talked about noveling, which at the moment is one of my favorite subjects and also my most stressful. We also talked about a series of books that we both love. I wanted to get out into the rain, but I wasn't able to...because of lightning, as I've said before. Some of my book takes place in the rain, and I wanted to go out there, in part so I could feel like my character and let my imagination flow. When I did venture out, I got a few raindrops on me, but that was about it. It wasn't too cold, but it was chilly and the wind had the intention of making it colder. The raindrops were cold against me when they fell. There were interesting clouds overhead, darker than normal clouds but with a touch of yellow in them. On the left side of us, the clouds were dark and it looked like rain. On the right side, there was blue sky and white clouds. The blue sky and dark clouds mixed together at a point in the sky. You could still see the mountains. A rainbow, an almost-full-out rainbow, spread across the sky in an arch, reminding us that God would never again flood the earth, and I stood there for a second thinking about that. He sent us a sign so long ago, and it still appears today for us in the modern age.

It rained again that night, while I was writing another book that may or may not ever come to anything. I had to stop, though, because the lightning was there. It seems to want to forbid me of things...but it still makes good pictures. Did you know you can get lighting attachments for your camera, and it will take a picture of the lightning for you? They're not very cheap, but still pretty cool. I've only gotten one or two pictures of lightning in my life, the most recent (and possibly only) one being of just the light and not the ing. It was still pretty cool though, if you think about it. :) I'd post the picture, but I'm not on the computer where I upload all my pictures. :(

Current goings-on.

My current goings-on...is not much. What will commence is a post of no importance, but is something I'd like to write and you will hopefully like to read anyhow. ;)

I am sitting here in this chair, pretty bored. But whenever I think of opening my manuscript up, I get an excited feeling. Then when I think about it in more depth, the feeling goes away. I really need to think up an event that prolongs the time when MC1 is still not in love with MC2...but I can't think of anything. Writer's block in a form.

I just got off Facebook with my awesome friend Jerica. :) We played Draw My Thing and she won the first game and we tied the second one.

There are a lot of things I could be doing right now. I will name them:

Writing
Listening to music
Taking a shower
Talking to a friend
Writing
Writing
Watching TV
Writing

Technically, I am writing, though....hehe.

I'm going to sign off of this boring post now, but I hope you all have a good night. Later I'll probably be on the couch in my pj's watching The Wonder Years with my mom. :)

Q: What was the inspiration for Born to be a Dragon?

The inspiration came in many forms. The biggest, though, came from my children. They have such grand imaginations and are always playing army men, safari, race car drivers, dragons, etc. One day I was watching them play dragons and wondered what the adventure would be like if the two were best of friends (dragons and humans). I wrote the first chapter the same day and read to the kids (to gauge their level of interest). To say they were just interested is an understatement. For the next two months, they lived and breathed dragons until the book was complete. I revised, trimmed, and edited, then read it to them again, and they were just as thrilled with the outcome.

Q: Have you always liked dragons?

This family has always loved dragons. The PBS dragon show stole my children's hearts when they were little and even back then they would imagine they were Emmy or Max and wish on a scale.

Q: How many drafts did it take to get the finished product?

Twelve? Thirteen? Seriously though, I can't say exactly how many drafts, but a good baker’s dozen might be a good number to go with. Usually, I finish a draft and let it sit for a bit while writing another, then come back to it with fresh eyes. Amazingly enough, this works wonders and I'm able to see things I hadn't before.

Q: It says on the front cover of your book that Born to be a Dragon is the first book in the Dragons Forever series. Are you planning more books?

Oooooh yes. Meia and Deglan's adventures have just begun.

Q: Do you have any special rituals or things you like to have around while you write?

Music. Always music when I write. The type of manuscript really decides the type of music. For Dragons Forever - Born to be a Dragon, I listened to a lot of Owl City to keep the pace whimsical and light-hearted (because it was middle grade). For my young adult novels, the music is usually more moody and driving. It keeps my pace moving at a good clip and the tension tight.

Q: Whenever you see a dragon now, do you automatically think of your book?

Yes. A resounding yes! The kids and I always try to think of "this" dragon’s name or if he exists in the Dragons Forever world. It's fun and creates great conversation between the children and I.

Q: Say that you’re walking down the street and you spot someone holding a copy of your book. How would you feel?

I think I would feel like a kid at Christmas who had just opened up the ultimate gift.

Q: Do you have any suggestions for people who’d like to become writers themselves?

My greatest suggestion is to write, write, write, write. Write the good, the bad, the horrible, the fantastic. Just write it out. Because whatever you write can be molded into something beautiful. But if you don't write it, you have nothing to work with. Writing is a work of art and like all art it takes time to see the picture on the canvas. Sometimes you have to take words away only to add more and in different places. You take a step back and admire the work and add some more. But if you don't write, you won't have anything to play with. So, write, write, write, write.

The Art of Following

So, I got this idea for a post tonight as I was following someone's blog. Following someone's blog isn't...REALLY an art. It's just something nice to do.

Say, you like a blog. You'd like to follow it...but the follower box is no where in site. So you don't waste your time looking for it. That's just lazy! Some blogs actually don't have one, though, so in this case, you go to the top of the blog and above the header, on the Blogger bar, you'll see the "follow" button. Just follow the blog like normal. When I do this, I see that blog's last 25 posts or so show up in my Dashboard follow box. It's a pain to scroll through them all, but soon it won't matter anymore. ;)

But say that the box IS there. Then it takes three clicks. Mm hmm. Three clicks. Then you're following the blog and you've given that person one more follower and increased their follower count. Every follower matters! You could make someone's day...or at least brighten it just a little. ;)

So, if you're ever on the fence about following, then just do it. This is of course considering you like the blog, or maybe it's your friend's blog. Whatever! LOL

Hi Everyone!

I have a special post coming up for you guys! Just a hint: it's not about AG. :) You can guess what it is but I doubt anyone will get it right...I'm so encouraging, aren't I? XD I hope you like the post when it comes out. I'm not sure about the date because I'm waiting on an email, but it'll be up hopefully quite soon. :)

On another note, our Owl City CD came. It's awesome! I've played it in my room and played the songs on my iPod and on the computer. I recommend it! :)

Hopefully I'll have a fun new video to post...I'd like to make one outside with Michael and his doll, Tommy...I'd be using Leah. :) If you guys have any video ideas that you'd like to see, then go ahead and comment with them...who knows, but we might use one or two. :)

Hi Everyone!

How are ya'll? I'm doing really well and I'm glad that school is out. It has been super dry here lately. The humidity is sometimes 5% and the temp. has been high. In the 90's! *pant pant* Once, in our old house, a husky dog was on our porch, probably trying to get out of the sun. Poor thing. I don't remember how hot it was back then, though.

It cools down in the evenings and we go out in the backyard. Last night when we went I danced and "sang" quite a bit because I had just watched Singin' In the Rain. A movie that more people should see. :)

I am currently reading three books:

Mud City by Deborah Ellis
The Shunning by Beverly Lewis
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

The first and last ones I am reading more, and The Shunning is kind of off to the side. LOL Which reminds me, I have to get my novel in today. Would someone please be so kind as to force me to do it? Because otherwise I'll wait till the VERY last minute because I am a procrastinator. :P

Last night we ordered a package from Amazon! Inside was...All Things Bright and Beautiful, the new Owl City CD! :) I'm excited for when it comes. Michael and I are each paying for half, since we both like Owl City and we'll be sharing the CD. Yay!

And I'm sorry about the Deer in the Headlights AGMV! Michael and I started lagging on it and haven't filmed anything in the past few days. For one thing my throat had been bothering me so that knocks out one or two days, but still. We'll get it up eventually! :(

Day 2 of Filming

Hey Everyone!

So today marks Day 2 of the filming for the Deer in the Headlights AGMV. I can't wait till it's finished. :) It casts Kirsten as the boy and Julie as the girl, and Leah also makes an appearance in two instances. We've built a car with headlights and I had to put "makeup" on Kirsten for one part. Would you like a sneak peak?

So, yep. Filming is about to commence for the second day. Here's hoping this builds excitment and the MV turns out good. XD The MV will either be out today or tomorrow. :)

Happy Summer!!!

Hey Everyone!

I'm OUT OF SCHOOL!! :D Actually I got out June 14th but haven't posted till now. I'm so glad to be out! :D Also, yesterday was the first day of Summer, and I heard that it's the longest day of the year. Cool!

On another note, Michael and I are filming a MV! It's to the Owl City song "Deer in the Headlights" off his new album, All Things Bright and Beautiful. We don't have the album yet, though. LOL We actually built a temporary car for dolls for it! :) I hope you like the MV when it's done! I'm HOPING it'll be done today or tomorrow, but you never know. Hehe

Noveling

Hi Everyone!

So I have finally been working on the revised version of my NaNo novel, Charlotte. It might not be done in time to use the coupon, but that's fine because I might just publish my first edition anyway.

The revised one will be up on Amazon once it's done. Unless I decide to make another re-written copy...but we'll hope that won't happen in the near future. XD Unless of course some publisher happens to like it and wants to publish it. XD :P

So....how is your weekend going? Mine has been going alright. :) My dolls have a new guest at their house-Suzannah! She was lonely on a shelf by herself and now she's with the AG dolls. She likes the cats and Kirsten. :) Julie reminds her a little of Johannah and Leah of Kathryn. Elizabeth of Meg and Felicity of....Johannah. Poor Suzannah, she misses Johannah. :(

Last night we watched a movie called Saving Sarah Cain. It was based off a novel by Beverly Lewis. It was pretty good. :) Speaking of Beverly Lewis, right now I'm reading The Shunning by her. I saw the movie on Hallmark Channel and then I saw the book at Sam's Club. It's pretty good, too. :)

A while ago, I found this old video...Michael and I had made it when I was 10 or 11 and he was 6 or 7. It was inspired after This video that I had watched right before we made ours. :) I uploaded our video to YouTube a few days ago. Here it is, I hope you enjoy. :)

So anywho....I don't actually have anything to post about....except for Happy April and that Spring has pretty much sprung here. Tuesday it is supposed to get up to 78 degrees. :)

I am continuing to procrastinate on getting my NaNoWriMo novel finished, editing and stuff wise. I only have till June. I've been drawing a picture of Charlotte from my book, and she still needs color and maybe a nose/mouth job. LOL I'll put a pic of it on Picasa when it's done. :)

Tonight Mimi's coming over and over some sort of food (xD I don't know what it is yet, maybe chicken casserole, or roast or chilli) we're going to watch.... TANGLED! *Flynn yays go up from the crowd*

Hi Everyone!

Happy March! :) I'm sorry I didn't post the first day of March, but I barely even thought of it. Michael is pretty sick and my mom and dad don't feel so great either....right now I'm the only one feeling completely fine.

Anyway, I changed my blog just like I said! I put up a new background, changed the colors on my header and made my cbox green. I'll probably put a picture on the header as usual but I'm going to take one, maybe of Felicity in my Irish Dance dress for dolls or all my dolls in green....IDK :)

Sewing, FanFiction, and School...oh my!

Hi Everyone

I'm really sorry I haven't been posting lately! There's not really an excuse except laziness. Hopefully I can stop this and quit letting you people down! Anyway, to the post, since of course that's what you guys are wanting. ;

I've started sewing-yipee!!! I really like it. I got a machine a few weeks ago and it's awesome! Here are pictures of most of the things I've made:

A capelet for my little GBH dolls, April models. :)
A Valentine's Day skirt for my AG dolls, Felicity models.

Spring skirt for my AG dolls, again Felicity models! LOL

Do you think I should start selling these skirts in my shop? Would you be interested in buying one? Sometime I'll post a picture of my sewing machine/sewing area. ;)

Dear readers, I have discovered something. Something awesome. It's called.....FanFiction. And now I'm hooked. Here's the link to my FanFiction page: QuinnyandCompany's Fanfiction. So far I've written three chapters of one story (Felicity Grows Up) and finished a one-shot about Parcheezi. It's really awesome concept. I'd been writing little bits of stories like that when I was younger, little did I know there was a whole site for this stuff. To find out what I'm talking about you'll have to visit the site, LOL. But I must warn you that there IS some innapropriate content and stories have a rating. I've found that some stories rated T (teen) are alright, while others rated the same rating are too mature. You'll have to see which ones are for you. ;)

Some updates

Hi Everyone!

So I have some updates for you. Well only two, but yeah....

The first is that...I cut my hair! :D I cut off more than I ever have! I really like it now but sometimes I kind of miss my long locks, LOL. Here's a picture of me now (you can see the before in my Blogger profile pic):

Ok, NOT the best pic, but I don't have much else. :P I donated 10 inches to Locks of Love. :)

Second update is pretty boring, but I finished the first semester in school, have Monday off, and am pretty happy. ;)
