It is with this in mind, that I would like to mark the occasion by giving you a sneak-peek into posts of the future. These are a collective of musings from myself and Brown, which should be appearing on the quiteenjoy site anytime between now and the day of our last post (when our courageous, yet unlikely helicopter-to-shark drop goes tragically wrong) in the year 2034.

Well once again another day of travel has been thwarted by TFL. I have fond memories of the old days where the drivers would be on strike for maybe a day or two, a few of the lines would be closed and perhaps your journey to work might take an extra hour or so, then everything would get back to normal. Since the passing of Bob Crow the RMT leader and the devastating effects of the 2010 economic crisis, the coalition government took it upon themselves to merge industries in order to save money. I can kind’a see their point, at least fiscally, but utilising homeless men as drivers was a bit of a miss wasn’t it? I can see the incentive: a constant shelter, warmth under the ground, a monotonous task that wouldn’t be too confusing to the gin-soaked mind… but were any of us really that surprised when the signs started showing? All that cardboard over the seats… the massive congestion because of that one bloke asleep in a tunnel… the tragic ‘Circle Line Disaster’ when that fire was started in a barrel out of habit and Gloucester Road station was reduced to cinders?
This week they’re telling us in no uncertain terms that Great Portland Street station has been closed due to a riot over half a sandwich. Bloody tramps.

Sweet! The new iPhone 12 is finally here! I am so excited I can almost taste it! Managed to haggle with the bloke in T-Mobile as well, so am now getting 500 minutes, 500 texts, Unlimited Outernet & 5 Gravitational Time Dilation’s, on a 96-month contract for only £3,400 a month! I know I could’ve got something a little better with the Paradox package, but what nobody knows is that you are spending so much more on extra Time Dilation’s, when you only need the one, to go into the past and change what you used it on to begin with… that way, you get the benefit of having travelled to all those different points in time, but with only ever using one credit! Besdides, with that ‘iTranscend’ app, you can keep a log of all your previous leaps in your phone’s memories, and revisit the points in time without being online. Safe as fuck.

The wonders of word press stat tracking, eh? Not only can I tell how many people visit the site, which pages are most popular and what links they have a look at on the side- but I can also see what people have used as their search terms to find us. This one was a particular gem. Glad that we fit the search criteria for “mentally defective”.I hope whoever searched for that was happy with their result. If it was you- let me know. Wizzard.

For those not in the know- TFL is the abbreviation of our beloved “Transport for London” or as it will be referred to today- “The F@&king Lunatics.”
Every week I pay my £35 odd for a weekly travel card to zones 1-2. Buy my calculation I think I’m owed about £12 of that back for the amount of times the bloody thing shuts down.
Earlier this week I was denied a quick journey home ( for quick-see 40min) as we were informed that Victoria line trains would not be running from Warren Street. Well thanks. Guess I’ll go the extra special 20 min out of my way route and take a bus. Also thank you for making sure that the information stays well clear of your website. It was later that night as I was checking my route for tomorrow that I found that Warren streets Victoria line was closed due to faulty escalators. I would love to know why this was deemed a suitable reason to shut a tube train when, last time I checked, the running of them has very little to do with their use of motorised steps. If it was the fact that the escalators leading to the platform were faulty then I’m still puzzled. The wonderful thing about escalators is that if you turn them off the magically transform into “stairs”. This method of changing from high ground > low ground and visa versa has been popular for a fair few centuries now. But I digress- I write this as I am packed onto a crowded overground train bound for kings cross. Actually it’s going quicker than I thought- either that or this rant has been a distraction from time. Anyhow my tanks to TFL for shutting my tube lines and taking my money. Now I’m off to the nearest street corner to find a soap box to stand on.

P.s I am now on a Victoria line train and have just heard that Warren Streets escalators are STILL not working. Workshy.

I think it all boils down to a question of taste. If you, like me, consider yourself to have even a little bit of it, then you will find this mannequin, that suit and the shop in question to be nothing short of putrefying. However, there has to be a reason it has been allotted the top spot in the front-of-house fashion range, doesn’t there? …and why? Because someone, somewhere, thinks that not only does that mannequin look sharp as fuck, and a clear benchmark for all styles considered present and future, but the suit he is sporting is worthy of immediate purchase and apparel. This all being thought by the guy sporting the exact same moustache and glum-faced disposition as Swindon’s finest over there.

So go on then… buy it. See if I care.

It was of a well dressed lady who was kindly offering shots to a table of fine upstanding gentlemen on the table opposite. I decided to share it as it is not every day that you see a woman wearing shoes that are brighter than the light sources in the room. Moments later I received a reply from Mr. Jenkins. This was his reply:

The artistic rendition of an utterly convincing dinosaur had been added. This blew my mind. not only was that dinosaur NOT there in the picture I had taken, but have in fact been extinct for more than a few years. Whilst I composed myself and pondered on how such an marvel had been accomplished; I stumbled upon another sight which I felt needed sharing. this was that sight:

This I thought to be a fabulous mixing and wondered why most bars in town do not offer such a combo. Once again I sent the picture to Mr. Jenkins. After I switched my phone back on after the film I got a reply. This was it:

I stared in complete bewilderment at the fact that not only had Mr. Jenkins been out that night as well and had spotted a place with almost identical signage, but that the title of the place he found was more obscure than my original. That, and the fact that all of our correspondence that evening had been completed without the aid of the post office or carrier pigeons, left my head with a rather sore feeling. I went to bed.

Take a moment to track through this chain of events and put yourself into the shoes of someone from the 1900′s. You would have the two of us stoned as witches.

So the next time your iPhone drops a call, or your 4.3 GB HD movie hasn’t downloaded in the 20 minuets that was originally promised, or you don’t get a signal in the middle of a swamp- just take a second…and shut up. The world we live in today is amazing.

…your going to see some serious shit.

Damn straight because tonight is the night that I get to see the Doc himself on the big screen. It’s been many years since I’ve been so excited to see someones face displayed in front of me at the size of a house. The back to the future films have long since been my favourite trilogy – even more than the savagely beaten dead horse of Star Wars (for there were only 3 – the others were toy commercials). So when I heard on the grapevine that they were bringing out some tasty 1080p blu-Ray editions of said films then I literally ironed my face with glee…(?). Then on top of that I discovered that they were bringing number UNO to the big screen (back to the future-not the card game) then you could have buried me right then and there. Luckily you didn’t because tonight I am going to see Back to the future on the silver (for silver see “slightly grey”) screen in London town.
It has been a slow day for news…so much so that I have to discuss my evening plans with you. But hey ho that’s the way it goes sometime -I’m going to go fire up the flux.
