We all want to make money, and we all want to quit our jobs. We also want to be abe to work from home and enjoy the freedom and benefits that come from working for yourself at home. There are a ton of different jobs you can do at home, but if you don’t know what where to start, the Legit Online Jobs site is for you.

Legit Online Jobs is a program that teaches you how to place ads for different products and make money. The system is as follows: sign up, select your companies, starting posting ads. Sounds simple, and in fact, it kind of is. The system gives you the training you need to pick the right companies, and it tells you the best places to place your ads.

While you might be skeptical, and it might sound too good to be true, you really have nothing to lose. Signing up and selecting your companies is free. Placing ads might cost a few bucks on some websites, but most of the websites that you will place ads on are free. All you are really paying for is the Legit Online Jobs system, which includes all the training and bonuses.

The best part of this program are the free bonuses. You get a book that will show you how to get access to thousands of online jobs. Another book will show you how to make money by completing surveys online. Another book will show you how to make money. Yet another book will show you how to set up money making websites. So basically, the free bonuses make this a can’t pass up deal.

So if you are looking to start working from home, Legit Online Jobs might be a good investment.

One of the reliable and best known ways to make money with a computer is by getting a home based data entry job. All you need is a computer and the ability to type, and you can make money with data entry. Maryanne Kennedy, the #1 recruiter for data entry jobs in the world and the official recruiter for the world’s largest data entry company in the world, brings you a way to make hundreds of dollars a day just by filling out forms.

Here is how the International Data Entry At Home Institute works:

There are plenty of companies, over 17,000, looking for qualified data entry processors. Maryanne Kennedy’s system will teach you to be a qualified data entry processors. You then choose one (or more) companies to begin working with. You do not work for these companies, you work with these companies. You are your own boss. You choose how much work you want to do and how often you want to work.

As long as you can read and write English, can type, and have an Internet connection, you can use this program to make money. You don’t need to be a writer, and a very good typist. All you need to be able to do is fill in a few boxes in a data form, and you are done.

That is it! After you fill out the form, you make an average of $25 to $35. The companies can pay this much for such simple work because you are doing this work, not one of their employees, which saves them money. The companies also make money off of the data you are inputting into the form, because of course, if the company isn’t making money, you wouldn’t be.

Of course, this program is not free. Your only time installment fee is $197. But don’t get too discouraged, because there is a 3-month 100% money back guarantee if you are not making money or are not completely satisfied. So, if you want to quit your day job or just make a little extra money, join the home based data entry job program today.

One of the more popular and legitimate ways to work from home and make money is to process rebates from home. You can make $10 to $20 for each online rebate you process, all while sitting comfortably at home in front of your computer. Processing rebates has not been around for too long, but it is quickly becoming one of the more popular ways to make money online. In the Process At Home program, you are taught by the very first Affiliate Rebate Processor, Angel Stevens.

Here is how the program works:

After you sign up for the Process At Home program, you will be given a list of over 11,000 companies with which you can become affiliated with and process rebates for.

Once you choose a company (or two or more) to process affiliate rebates for, you can login to your account and get your unique tracking code.

You’ll then receive messages when you’re given customer sales records to process rebates for.

You then fill out a form to send to process the customer’s rebate.

You make commissions off of all your sales, and you get to keep the commission you’ve made (minus the rebate you send to the customer).

Process Rebates From Home offers the ease of being able to work anywhere with the convenience of an extra income. Start working today and make $10 to $20 per rebate. Just pay the one time upfront fee ($39.97) and begin making money at home with your computer.

Desk Coder reminded me of another frustrating situation at work. One that yet again proves that people in the managerial positions above us have no clue.

Recently during one of our application code review meetings, a new standard was presented as going into production. No discussion, no vetting, no nothing. The Database Admin and newly hired programmer took it upon themselves to develop this and force it on everyone. They showed the code and….

I immediately challenged it. I personally don’t care what they wanted to do, they were building an over complicated mechanism. An unnecessary one at that. I called it into question and forced the issue. Because it was a) wrong of these two to do this on their own and b) complicated and a round about way of doing something.

Later the Manager of Desk Coder and the programmer called his team into his office (the programmer was out that day…on the day his new standard went in…yes…). He immediately jumped on Desk Coder and the other team member: “WE HAVE TO SUPPORT OUR TEAM! WE HAVE TO BACK EACH OTHER UP! WE HAVE TO BE BEHIND EACH OTHER!!!!”

Basically what he was saying was “even if it was wrong I expect you to support it.”

True story.

48 Days to Creative Income, Day 13

Day #12: Which of the 10 models of work appeals to you?

Blech! Sickness has sidelined Desk Coder and CubeWarrior for most of the last week. True sickness, not job sickness. That is always present.

48 Days lays out 10 categories of work. Funny because they call them “new work models”, as in new economy. But it’s funny because once again showing how much has changed in the last few years, it doesn’t really take the Internet and the technological possibilities into account. The author would argue that they do because in the new economy the same models apply, just with a change in definition. Look at the list though. It screams 1990’s thinking.

Traditional Job

Supervisor

Sales Rep

Consulting

Franchise

Distributorship

Licensing

Business Opportunities

Personal Service

Very Non-Traditional Work

Ok this last one is a catch all, it basically means “put anything you want here”. The funny part is the authors example is about buying rem anent fabric and selling it. That is what he considers “Non-Traditional”. Blogging? Not thought of. Affiliate Marketing, Not thought of. Basically everything here still involved traditional roles, even if they had a twist.

What appeals to me? Well, #1-#9 are so close to regular day jobs that I honestly don’t even want to consider them. #1 would be ok, if i were at a company that I enjoyed working for. A place where I was valued.

But I will have to stick to non-Traditional. But even for me, I’m not sure what I want to do. I want something different. Something that makes me interested. Something were my mind won’t be shacked and chained down by people above me who force their (bad) ideas on me.

I’m going with #10, what about you?

Me First!

My wife works for a Human Resources Consulting company. They send out frequent newsletters on various subjects. Recently she sent me a snippet from one, from an article on “How to make Yourself More Valuable at Your Job”.

She sent me a line that stated “…offer to test the company’s website.” And she followed it with the comment of “you should do this.”

I am sure the the people in the cubby-holes around me heard me laughing out loud. I took a couple of moments to let the humor subside and responded to her.

Part of my job had been to “test the company website”. Well, not exactly. My job was to “code review” the applications going out. This was part of our compliance with the assinine Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. When I did my code reviews however (OH I will post on these later), I would always bring up the web applications and work through them a bit. This was to make sure that they matched up to the changes in the code and were supposedly doing what they should.

As I did these application reviews, I constantly ran into issues with the applications. I ran into errors and faulty programming. I ran into functionality and flow issues. I ran into huge usability issues. When I say huge I mean HUGE. The biggest problems I had was usability. These applications were absolutely horrid in that area.

BUT! These code reviews were always “ceremonial”. These applications ALWAYS moved forward. In fact the Project Manager always sited the fact that there were no errors that keep the applications from “running”.

The final straw for me came when a new application was rolling out. I did my review and set my my usual list of issues. But this application was a “model for future development”. So it went out. AND the Vice President of our department sent an email congratulating the project manager and encouraging all of us to look at the new application. He included a screen shot of the application, a screen shot that had some of the horrible items in it that I had pointed out.

I immediate set him and the Application Manager an email saying “this is terrible and looks horrible and there are multiple issues with it!” I never heard anything back….ever.

I asked the Application Manager to take me off of code reviews for that group.

I refused to ever look at their applications again.

I have mentioned before that Desk Coder and I are IT professionals. Or used to be until the corporate world turned us into mindless drone monkeys.

So it was natural that our attempts to make extra income in order to quit the day job by working from a technology angle. The Internet has really opened up the opportunities for doing this. In times past you would have had to write programs, the market them, then support them, blah blah. Sure you could have made money, but the maintenance hassle and all weren’t for me.

Luckily the internet has opened the door to so many online money making schemes opportunities that you don’t have to follow the traditional “coding path” to make some side money. But having a technical background does really help in setting up Internet based mechanisms.

But something that Desk Coder and I have been discussing lately is the need to make our sites and money making more “automatic”. Sure you can start a blog, post entries every day, throw on some adsense, promote, maybe do some affiliate deals….HEY it’s midnight already?!?!?! ( You will spend a lot of time doing this).

One of our year end goals is to work at doing less “interactive work” on the sites and making them more automatic and self running. Desk Coder is hard at work on two sites, that if done right, he will barely have to touch during a work week. I have 2 sites that require only an hour each per month. Another site takes just 2 hours a week. But together and separately we have several sites that just require too much hands on work.

If you are like us, you are lazy. The great thing about the web is that it is up and running 24/7. So we need to work on sites that update frequently or…don’t update at all, but will not require our constant attention.

If you are looking into a web venture, concentrate some of your effort on making administration of your site an almost automatic affair. This will free you up to enjoy the fruits of your (minimized) labors.

After completing 12 days of the 48 Days to Creative Income I am:

Fatter, haven’t lost any weight. I think I’ve gained it!!!! Damn waistline.

Poorer, since my investment account statements have come in.

More depressed than ever.

So far the first 48 Days have not been profitable in a monetary sense at all. No money is coming in. Lots of money going out.

Not profitable in the idea sense either. The 48 Days to Creative Income program, although only a few years old, seems to be very much geared toward the frustrated sales person who wants to start their own brick and mortar business. Well maybe not the brick and mortar part, but you get the idea.

It has given me insight though, along with this site that I really need a different income stream coming in so that I am not as dependent on the day job. In the “new economy” I think I can work this “web” angle and make some money. I just need a free week or two to work on it all!!!!

I’ll continue on for a while in this program.

But hey, I don’t want to be too successful! After all Obama will tax me if I become one of the evil rich people!!!
