When I was active with Quixtar business, I always thought why people are writing negative about quixtar? If they don't like Quixtar, why don't they quit and do something else rather than wasting their time in running sites for publishing negatives about quixtar. I also thought that some big Retail stores or pharmaceutical company may be unhappy with the Quixtar MLM business model in which people consume products from their own business and make millions after a while. I thought that these companies loose their business, if all people follow MLM.

I was biased enough that I couldn't find an answer. I asked my upline and they told that these people don't have a life and writes negative about everything and these guys are loosers. Though I agreed with him, I still wondered why a professor of a US University run a web page in his department website exposing the quixtar scam.

Now I know the answer and I myself is writing this blog.LOL

Before going too further into the answer, let me tell you what type of people exists in this planet. you can yourselves analyze where you stand?

When it come to scamming or being cheated, different people reacts differently!

One creed of people don't care even if somebody screwed them or even their spouse cheats on them, they just take things lightly and move on. They keep thinking that life will get better sooner or later. These are passive folks or over adapted folks!

Second creed of people won't react even if they are scammed which is out of fear to fight against a big fraud bull. These people will keep cursing their ill fate and dump their frustration on their family. These guys are low profile achievers. They can't say NO even to same kinda scammers which may come to them in any further journey of their life.

Third creed of people are ambitious and attempts to tap every opportunity for success. But on the way, if they found that they are cheated, they will try to expose the cheaters. These people don't want to waste too much time in fighting against these frauds, still may get a decent satisfaction that these frauds at least can't screw more people, if right information is flooded.

Fourth creed of people are hyper actively ambitious and wants to do everything in a short period of time. If they found to be scammed, they will go to any extent to bring down the scammers. These folks will set aside all other priorities and just spend their rest of time and life to hunt down these scammers.

Fifth category of people will use others experience of being scammed and fight against the frauds. These people may not be cheated by any scammers, but are very considerate about fellow beings and want to help community.

Sixth category is a "Scammer turned to be a community person" as in the movie "Catch Me if you can" which is a rare phenomena.

I guess, I fall in the third category. I don't want to invest my time thinking more about my upline, BWW or Quixtar. If I think more about them, that means that they are important in my life! Swear to God, they're not at all important in my life.

But I am writing this blog for all those who was ME, "the once I am in Quixtar business"! So, my blog is not to throw negatives about everything or anything, rather to expose the Hidden Agenda and truths about BWW and Quixtar which Nobody tells you when you're in business or You never care to understand till you loose everything.

My blog is about the hidden facts and thoughts about the Quixtar Business! I don't want anybody to think as I think, but just to make you guys aware what you're investing in and what you will get!

Just keep in mind that You'll NEVER GET THE RESULTS THAT YOU EXPECT, NO MATTER WHAT ALL YOU INVEST IN PAIN AND SUFFERINGS.

The old sayings GARBAGE IN GARBAGE OUT CAN BE REVAMPED FOR THIS BUSINESS AS

WHATEVER IN GARBAGE OUT! -unless you're ready to screw your downlines and friends with the fake hopes and promises!

If you do that and get money out of them, why to do this business? Just go and rob people, that has more dignity. Atleast they know what they can expect from you!

MY DISCLAIMER

Let me start with a disclaimer. I know that any story should start with an introduction and NOT a disclaimer. But my disclaimer will serve as the introduction to this story!

From where am I writing this blog ?

Sure, from some underground in an isolated dark room..LOL where I have no life at all. This is what your Upline folks and the BWW system want you to believe. This the way they see anybody criticizing Quixtar because they're afraid that if you start reading and thinking logically, they loose you and their business. Now ask yourselves, is this the way you think, if you read a bad comment about a shop or a gadget you plan to purchase? Before purchasing anything, I usually go to review sites and look what other people who bought the same stuff have to say about it. This is the Universal Law! Unfortunately, this is not applicable to Quixtar as per BWW System! LOL

What is my credibility?

No credibility at all as I am not a millionaire and never helped anybody to become a millionaire. Take it as an advice: "Millionaires won't speak unless you pay for the conference ticket" Even if they speak,they speak about Quixtar from which nobody can make Millions. You don't believe? Just revisit Quixtar Plan and play with numbers in it. You'll never see any scope of Millions, or even 100,000s LOL. Then where are these millions? That's thru' the sale of tapes, cassettes and conference tickets to the so called 30,000 dumpers coming for conferences to make millions. For making those sales in the later stages of your business, you'll have to compete with your own uplines whom you now think as your friend or mentor. Your so called mentor/friend will try to suppress you and do all politics to reduce your importance so that sales and even speaking goes to him. I've personally gone thru' all these challenges. In my earlier stages of my business, I have heard one great "Diamond going upline" calling me and asking me not to be in touch with an "emerald upline" of his team. This is just because Emerald guy is getting tapes directly from the diamond upline who is above the "diamond going guy". You'll sure experience all these dramas and you may yourselves be the victim of these dramas. Politicians behave better than them with a common goal of screwing people and getting their money!

So, I am not a guy who has no life and want to write negatives about anything and everything because I’m unsuccessful in my life. I don't want to make my blog a “Bathroom wall of the society” where I can scribble anything without revealing me. I am writing this blog from my own experiences. This blog is for people who has just been contacted by somebody for "using your free time to make extra income". This blog is for somebody who want more info. about How this business works!

So, if you are in your way of making millions, don’t read my blog. It’s full of logic, which after reading, may make you think and damage your upline’s business!

So, if you really care about your Upline and want to promote his business and have taken the vow to make him rich, please don’t read this!

This is true with all IBOs who are "very active in the business". True, you've no way out!

Sounds scary? Truth is stranger than fiction!

Let us revisit the various stages of your IBO-ship till you reach here:

Somebody,may be your close buddy, told about an exciting business opportunity
You got excited or may be NOT, I shouldn't exaggerate!
You asked him What exactly is that? You won't get an answer. He tells hundreds of things other than the answer you expect! He won't reveal the name of the company leaving you NO OPTION even for a Google search.
He drags you to the meeting where he thinks will answer all your questions.
You're dressed up like a clown in your rarely used Suit. Your suit has the smell of your suitcase, I bet!
You saw a large croud of people howling and dancing and Excited. That's what they call it.
You listen to the fabulous presentation which is very informal with plenty of Jokes and stories about big corporations and businesses. Don't miss McDonald's story. You're going to build something no less than a McDonald's empire.
You're introduced to speaker and everybody tells that you're SHARP! or your dress looks Great!
You know the remaining...your friend's partners drive down to your house...and you got registered as an IBO
The initial expense is 315 + Taxes. Nobody told you that it just costs 35$ to register and remaining amount is for ordering stuffs which you don't need. These are for paid samples and your upline's expenses.
Now You BUILD BUILD, BUILT BUILT and Built the business and spend your valuable 2-3 years.

What all you did in 3 years?

You drove many miles
You spent lot of money in conferences, CDs books, and products and spent a lot.

This is like a Card game or a casino where you spent a lot of money and you've NO OTHER WAY OTHER THAN BUILDING THIS BUSINESS orlese you'll loose everything? This is what you were told.

Till this stage, your upline thru BWW will build you up to spent money. After this stage, BWW will leave you alone as they know that you'll not quit as you'll try to regain the money by making "profits" in the business

Now here is the message for you, if you're going thru' this stage:
GET OUT BEFORE GETTING BANKRUPT, USE YOUR BRAIN!

Psychological Blackmailing and Intelligent Supremacy are the ways in which BWW trains their leaders to deal with their downlines!

How can somebody get over your Intelligence and control you?

Everybody loves freedom and never like to be controlled. That's the sole reason why you overreact when somebody tries to control you by yelling or make you do things by bossing.

But, how about an indirect psychological approach where in you don't even know that you're obeying others?

This is the BWW approach to get you tamed!:

1. Your BWW upline talks high about the team and leaders. This is the first stage of SELF PROMOTING by your upline:) He tells you that you're lucky to be part of this (his) team. He even deliberately talks good about you! The common phrases about you is that you're sharp.

2. You'll find the people in your "new found team" to be very friendly. Whoever you meet will boast you and talks high about team. You'll get fascinated and even thinks- what a bunch of good people!!

This is the first stage of the clonning process in BWW !!!

3. Once you get impressed by the team, you starts talking good about the team. This is the duplicating process. You now, unknowingly, started running BWW infomercials and dramas. Now, it's the time for your "downline hunt" chasing people down at malls, McDonalds, grocery shops and resturants.

4. If you're luck enough to sponsor somebody into the Quixtar\AMWAY\BWW scam, he will become the exclusive asset of BWW.

5. Now, your upline will ask you in a friendly manner to EDIFY him to your new downline. You started telling high about your upline so that he will listen to your upline. Now, you started training your downline to become the slave of your upline. If he is logical enough, he will start questioning the process, else follow you like a dumber. Whatever be the case, he is the property of BWW.

6. Infront of your upline and downline, you'll again edify your upline and show some artificial respect so that your downline also respect him and his words.

7. This is the hidden agenda of BWW training. Now your upline will take control of not only your downline, but also YOU. He will tell you how to talk and behave to your downline. He will give you some tactics and approaches to handle your downline.

You really donno what's happening: YOU THINKS THAT YOU AND YOUR UPLINE IS HANDLING AND DEALING THE DOWNLINE DIPLOMATICALLY AND RUNNING THE BUSINESS.

TRUTH IS THAT YOU'RE TAMED AND CONTROLLED!!! They will make you feel that you're becoming a leader. But truth is that THEY ARE BECOMING A LEADER BY CONTROLLING YOU!

THINK TWICE BEFORE ARTIFICIALLY EDIFYING YOUR UPLINE INFRONT OF YOUR DOWNLINE WITH LIES, YOU'LL BE LIABLE FOR ALL THOSE LIES. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS REALLY CONTROLLED IN THE NAME OF YOUR DOWNLINES.

An open letter to Amway

To whomsoever it may concern (or may not concern)

I created this blog explicitly to expose my horrible experiences about the ride which I took with your Multilevel Marketing business. Before making any mention about the MLM business, let me ask you whether you have any business etiquettes at all? If you think so, Control the activities of all Motivational organizations like Britt World Wide, Dexter Yager, Network 21, Winners International, World Wide Dream Builders, etc. By control, I didn't mean to distribute your business policies written in small print to all new IBOs. Rather, educate them about the NON REQUIREMENT of buying any OVERPRICED promotional materials like cds, dvds, books and tapes created by these organizations to do an Amway business.Also, make them understand that IBOs are joining Amway to do Amway business and NOT to sell motivational Cds and other related craps. If they want to make a living by selling motivation materials, just ask them to quit Amway business and join some Church groups.

BAN the sale of any Motivational materials to Amway business IBOs. If these motivational orgazations like BWW want their IBOs to succeed, let them provide all motivational materials for FREE.

BAN the sales of ALL non Amway materials in Amway business. That will eventually increase the trust of people in Amway business. If you don't ban the sale of these motivational craps, then you'll be the mosquitto who sucks blood even from the leech!

Take Action! Ban the unethical practices of all motivational organizations. make Amway business SCAMFREE.

If you can't (or don't have the guts to do that, then rename your company's name to SCAMWAY! or back to QUIT-AR

DON'T LET OTHERS STEAL YOUR DREAMS!

Reality is nobody can steal anybody's dreams!
Just replace Dreams with Money; that's what your upline is doing with you!

Everybody has a dream about what they've to become! Becoming a doctor, engineer, pilot etc. But I don't think anybody will dream to become a Salesman!

Becoming a salesman happens accidentally when we don't have any other way of finding a good job!

Who wan't to become an unwelcomed guest in anybody's house-?

Salesman do have to be! So do the Quixtar aka Amway IBOs!!!!

BWW and other motivation organizations, in association to Quixtar, is making people dream about becoming a salesman. They know that people won't buy that! So, "Rich and famous" are the keywords associated with Salesman (oh sorry I used the wrong term, I mean "IBOs").

Building your dream is the first lesson of Quixtar.

For that you've to watch a video on :
* How some old leaders drive BMW, Benz, Lexus etc,.
* How they live in big houses
* How they swim in the pool
* How they love their wife and kids (at least in the video)
* and many more.....

Working towards achieving the dream is the second lesson.

For that you'll have to:
* Quit school, if you're a student and start attending OPEN Meetings, PASE meetings and conferences where Great Millionaires will teach classes live! But don't expect anything to be FREE! You'll have to pay your share of hard earned money!

* Less sincere in the job and more sincere to your upline. At job, you're working for a nasty Boss who pays you to have a good living. At BWW/Quixtar, you are working for an upline who helps you spend all your money for building your (his) dream! At BWW, they assure that you build a dream, work towards that dream and ultimately spend all your money with that dream.

* Buy "business tools"! Don't be scared : tools are not like Craftsman tools; they are just Motivational Cds, Books and seminar rally stuffs just like in Pentecost Church Seminars aimed to create GOD at the stage! Again, don't expect this to be free or cheap priced; each cd costs $8 and DVD for $15. If you want it cheap, get it from eBay. Just search for Quixtar or Amway in eBay!

Help other people build the dream is the third lesson

This is a big coursework which can be achieved thru' DUPLICATION. You duplicate or clone somebody like you. Not in shape and size, but the same way by which you're screwed!

The motivation for you is YOU'RE ALREADY SCREWED! SCREW MORE PEOPLE THRU' YOU TO GET A RELIEF ON YOUR SPENDINGS! i.e Get somebody to share your expenses and become smart enough to get profit from them. These clones are named as your downlines. If you teach these lessons well, you've just become a Quixtar Businessman!! Congrats!

Don't let others steal your dream

To ensure that your "dream" and the dream which you built in your downlines remain intact, follow thru' these steps:

* They don't watch tv, read newspapers and other information materials which will make them aware of what is happening outside.

* They don't browse internet or look for any reviews. All they look in internet is BWW, Quixtar, Partner stores etc

* They don't talk to negative people

* They don't talk to crossline or people from other team which may give a chance for them to compare between their uplines and crossline's upline or buy tools from anybody else!

* They don't change jobs which are more paying. More paying jobs will tend to make them think about the worthiness of building a business when they earn enough money.

* If they are Indians and in IT, ask them to move to upline computer consultancy sothat both UPline and Boss will be same person and you're totally screwed!

* They don't relax in weekends! If they relax, they'll have free time and they may tend to look at EVIL NEWPAPERS, OTHER EVIL MONEYMAKING TIPS, GET SOME COMMONSENSE THRU" THINKING etc. This is a dangerous situation; so get them to wheels and drive to downline's houses which are atleast 4 hours away and sell some cds or books or talk about next conference. This way they don't have any free time in the weekend.

* Have them go out in the evenings and weekends to bug people in malls and other public places. Ask them to get no.s from people and talk to them after coming back. Talk to as many as people as possible. Irritate people and get irritated so that they'll think about nothing else other than irritations and ways of getting over with these frustrations!

Last Lesson: Question their self respect if they plan to stay away from BWW tools or conferences!

If somebody turned out to be sensible and started doubting about the worthiness of tools or conferences or even business, do the following:

* Just harass them and question their self respect. Call them a looser or tell them that ONLY LOOSERS QUIT. Nobody can stand insult. So to prove that they are not a looser, they'll comeback!

* Have a special session in team meeting and announce again that ONLY LOOSER QUIT AND ONLY LOOSER DOUBTS ABOUT THE BUSINESS. That'll take care of it.

* Still he is not coming in BWW way, then have "other uplines" call them and flatter them that YOU ARE A CHAMPION or PROUD OF YOU. This lesson is called positive psychology! Now he will think-oh my great great upline trusted me- how can I put him down.? You're TAMED!!!

A request for all quixtar martyrs: Please don't have your greed work out more than your logic and ethics and SCREW OTHERS AND GET SCREWED!

Amway Business 101

I always wanted to write a book named "Amway Business plan for DUMMIES" or teach a course "Amway Business Plan 101". But then I realized that there is nothing to write so much to make it a book. Because the business plan is a very very simple- a simple multichain marketing. I don't think that anybody in the Amway business wants their new recruits to know that it's a simple money chain scam or a simple multilevel marketing.

If the NEW Quixtar\Amway Recruits realize that it's a simple chain business, HOW can the UPLINES make money by selling cds, books, tapes or conference tickets thru' which downlines can learn this "COMPLICATED BUSINESS"? The 9 core steps promoted by the motivational organizations like BWW,Worldwide Dreambuilders, Winners international, Network 21 etc includes TEACHABILITY and SUBMISSION. Teachability and Submission are not very simple concepts and these concepts comes with TERMS and Conditions written in small letters. Teachability is that downlines should act as a dumber for their uplines to teach. Teaching is not free, rather they are overpriced which comes in the form CDs, Books, tapes, conference thru' which the uplines earn commission on every sale. So, basically it's not motivational business, rather a screwing business where you'll get screwed at your own expenses!!!

So, even if I write the book 'Amway Business plan for Dummies", none of these downline dummies will ever read the book as they submitted them and their family to their uplines:) They deliberately prefer to stay as Dummies and get BANKRUPT!

What a funny world! I doubt whether Abraham Lincoln could abolish the SLAVERY completely! If he was alive, he might now have realized about the INTELLECTUAL SLAVERY!

I feel sorry for all the Amway Slaves wandering in the malls and Restaurants in the hunt for their downlines!

I feel sorry for the BWW Salves who wander around the conference halls and pase meetings in their 2 piece suits and tie even during hot and humid summers!

I feel sorry for all these Quixtar slaves who think themselves as business owners when they don't own any business!!

I think my introduction to this topic went too much boring and I beat around the bush too much!

Here is how Amway Quixtar Business Plan works:
Just some FAQ!

Q.2 How can I make money from the Amway Business?

You've to SELL SELL SELL and SELL. Amway Business model is just Door to Door Sales. You choose how to sell and how much to sell- that's how you can rake money. But, the products are not competitive- They are just overpriced and most of them are OFF brands- Amway brands! You won't get the products for WHOLESALE PRICE or anything. They are just overpriced than the most expensive brand of related products you find in any store. That makes the selling business hard! So, you've to be tamed door to door salesman.

Q.2 If door to door sales is the profit, why should I recruit downlines in Amway Business?

Amway is a multichain marketing business. So, more salesman under you, more chances of commissions. It's like a marketing manager having couple of sales representatives under him where he can get more commission from sales. The only difference between the sales manager of a marketing company and an upline in Amway is that former get salary apart from commission, but Amway distributor just get commission.

Q.3 What's the difference between a distributor of Amway vs a distributor of the normal sales company?

The normal company distributor don't need to hunt for recruiting new people. He just need to sell stuffs at a retail price which he got at a wholesale price. The difference is his profit (Math 101).
As against this normal philosophy, in Amway also, you'll sell, but not the products you got at a wholesale price. rather you'll have to sell overpriced products. You'll have to juggle with words to prove that these products are highly priced because of their higher quality which nobody EVER PROVED or EVEN APPROVED! The margin of profit is zero or even less than what you paid for gas to drive to there.

Q.3 Then How will I make money in Amway?

You don't make money thru' Amway. rather you make money thru' motivational organizations. Amway business is just a platform for your motivation business. Motivation is the real business. You sell the cds, conference ticket, books and tapes from the motivational organizations like BWW, Worldwide Dreambuilders, Winners international, Network 21 etc and get commissions of that sale. For that you've to recruit more and plug them into these motivational system. But beware that you've to compete with your upline in the later stage for making such sales of cds, books, tickets etc. That's the worst part of the business. First uplines will be your friends and these so called friends MILK you a lot. Then, they wil start milking your downlines. When you tell them that you also want to make money and that you'll milk the people whom you recruited, THAT"LL BE THE STARTING POINT OF YOUR COMPETITION WITH YOUR UPLINE. They play politics to get the sales back, so---be ready to do enough politics for your survival.

Q.4 If Amway business won't fetch money, then why there are many rich Amway IBO's?

My friend, Amway started it's multilevel marketing 30 years ago. People who joined in the first stage when the concept was new made money and got richer. Now that ship is sailed away. Everybody knows about the Amway scam and people stays away from it. You're now too late to be in a Multilevel scam like Amway to make money or get rich. All you do if you join Amway now, is to make other old richer IBOs more richer. That's the whole reason why they come to stage to "educate you" so that you'll spent money to get them more rich. Not because that they are your friend.

Partner store is an "Ad. gimmick" of Amway/Quixtar

You may be all the time hearing about the list of BIG names of Partner stores anywhere from DELL.com to Wireless Market Plus. The "partner store" title itself is an ad. gimmick of Quixtar/Amway. Through associating with other reputed stores Amway/Quixtar badly wants to prove that it's not a scam. All the motivational organizations like BWW, Network 21, WWDB etc boasts about these partner stores being partnered with Quixtar/Amway. The message which these motivational organizations want to convey to the new recruits is the Quixtar is not a scam as other reputed stores "trusted" Quixtar and so it's not a scam.

Truth is that these so called Partner Stores didn't trust Amway/Quixtar or any other scams. Partnering doesn't mean that other reputed stores have share in Quixtar/Amway. Rather that is just an affiliate program of these reputed stores where Quixtar applied and joined. Quixtar will be paid a commission anywhere between 4% to 12% for the sales it generate for these stores. This is pretty simple affiliate program which any business or individual can join thru' Commission Junction or Link share or even directly with stores. This is how all these deal/coupon websites function.

Then Why ONLY Quixtar/Amway makes big deal out of these Affiliate Marketing strategy as Partner Stores and Trust level etc?

Because Quixtar/Amway want to prove that their business plan is NOT A SCAM by taking advantage of the reputation of other stores and showing that they trusted Quixtar. What a Joke!!! Quixtar/Amway has dual benefit with naming these affiliate stores as Partner stores

1. Amway want to prove that it is not scamming people. So, it joined the affiliate marketing of other reputed stores so that it can put their name upfront and get the benefit of their names.

2. Amway will get commission from these stores too if it can redirect its IBOs to purchase from these stores thru' Amway. They can throw some pretty useless PV/BV to fool their IBOs and show it as an incentive.

So, if you hear from anybody that Partner stores trusted Amway/Quixtar, at least use your commonsense to understand that it's an affiliate marketing where Quixtar will get commission for sales it make for that stores.

Worth to mention that Dell's has up to 12% employee discount for almost all Government agencies and small\large companies which joins its "Group discount program". Quixtar joined Dell in the same way. If all these government agencies and other companies started using the strategy of Amway- Quixtar, then the Dell has 100s and 1000s of partner stores or all these companies or agencies have Dell as their partner store! LOL.

But no other agency or company considers this Group/employee discount program as PARTNERING WITH DELL, YOU KNOW WHY?

Because nobody else other than Amway/Quixtar wants to prove that it's not a SCAM!

Not only Dell, but many other companies give Group/Employee Discount Programs to employees of small and large companies. A simple example is discount programs of a local health club or local stores to employees of a company in that area. As per the THEORY OF AMWAY, this Health Club is the "Partner store" of that local company. Amway/Quixtar and Motivational organizations are trying to make people see "Goat" as a "Dog".

The use of the name of big merchants and showing them as Partner store definitely will help to convince their "brainless ibos" that Amway is not a scam apart from getting commission of the sales. I am curious! Who wants to be the next?

By terminating TEAM, I think Quixtar proves that they are serious about their business! In my previous post titled "Who's Evil-Bww or Quixtar", I pointed fingers at Quixtar about their diplomacy in pampering these crooked organizations which screws new IBOs. May be, the bitter experiences with UK Govt. made them realize that the same ban kinda threat could happen in the USA. Anyway good that Quixtar finally woke up. Atleast, be strict with implementing your business rules.

It's the time to change Quixtar's attitude of ignorance to your IBO's being screwed!
We know that people are being screwed by motivational organizations who violate our Business Etiquettes, but We don't care as we are getting our share of "screwed" money!!!

But HOW LONG CAN SOMEBODY FOOL PEOPLE? Some people can fool some people for sometime, but NOT SOME PEOPLE CAN FOOL ALL PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. This is the rule of mother nature. Hey Quixtar- Realize this fact and act ! Else, a huge earthquake in Ada will wipe out the company named Alticor and its child from this planet!

Do you want to act or wait for that earthquake to happen?

Having said that let me appreciate Quixtar for its first bold step! I think Quixtar did a right thing by throwing TEAM out! Their recruiting strategy is one of the worst than BWW (where I was sucked in). I had a bad experience with the TEAM recruiting. Here is my story: One day, I got a mail which resembled the ordinary junk mails with a title GET A FREE ORGANIZER FOR ATTENDING A FREE SEMINAR WITH FREE DINNER AND EARN MONEY USING GOOGLE, EBAY ETC. with the logo of Google, eBay and some other online merchants. I opened it. Unfortunately, it didn't give much details about the seminar. It's an invite for me and a guest where I can get free dinner and an organizer. I need to confirm my reservation by calling a toll free no. which I did. Apart from the free dinner and organizer, I was really interested in the seminar focusing on making money thru' Google and eBay. Seminar was scheduled in BEST WESTERN at 6.00pm with a note to come 10 minutes early. So, me and my spouse decided to learn Google cash making as we were already fed up with the money spent on BWW "Tools" and high priced Quixtar products which are hard to sell. We reached there at 5.45pm, didn't see anybody till 6.00pm. So we went to the reception and asked whether any seminar is scheduled at 6.00Pm. Then, they told that there is one at 7.00pm in R-101. Then we called the same toll free no. and asked whether the seminar is canceled. Then the lady on the phone told that somebody will be with us soon. Out of curiosity, we went to R-101 where the seminar is scheduled. You know what, we were shocked to see a printout pointing to TEAM seminar on the door. That rang a bell. I heard this TEAM as a Quixtar motivational organization like BWW, Network 21, Worldwide Dream Builders.

I immediately thought- What a bunch of crooks? They want to recruit for Quixtar and sent invitation mentioning about MAKING MONEY THRU' GOOGLE EBAY ETC. Good that Quixtar threw them out.

Now, I am seeing a lot of comments from TEAM members in the Alticor blog that Quixtar crucified some "Jesus" from TEAM who would have become the next world savor. What a bunch of real loosers? They got what they deserved. No more crooked tears TEAM! Let go, TEAM!

Now, what happens to TEAM members? The whole philosophy of motivational organizations is that they mold out a bunch of dumpers by creating dependency after getting them retired from their job with a buzz word of FREEDOM! But they never realized that retiring from their job and being a part of motivational organizations is NOT FREEDOM RATHER A NEW AGE SLAVERY! REAL INTELLECTUAL SLAVERY. Now these guys don't know how to live without their upline. Who are the real loosers? Try to guess, if you've any brain left!!!

Quixtar Takes Swift Action To Protect Its Business

Non-compliance with company rules results in business terminations.

ADA, Mich. (PRWEB) August 10, 2007 -- Quixtar Inc. announced this morning the termination of 15 independent businesses as a result of actions detrimental to the company's North American operations. The businesses affected were part of the Team training organization or other training organizations using Team's training materials and named as co-plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed by Team's founders against Quixtar yesterday in a California district court (07-08413-CK).

Quixtar was working with Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady, founders of the Team training organization, to correct issues related to Team's teaching of inappropriate business-building tactics, improper positioning of the opportunity, and use of unauthorized support materials. These teachings placed themselves, affiliated Independent Business Owners (IBOs), and Quixtar at serious and immediate risk of legal and regulatory actions and had to be stopped.

Woodward and Brady refused to work with the company to return Team to compliance with Quixtar's rules, stated their intentions of starting a new company in competition with Quixtar and filed a lawsuit against the company seeking relief from their non-compete requirements. The lawsuit is filled with outrageous claims and statements and will be defended vigorously by the corporation.

Due to their refusal to correct their business practices, Quixtar terminated the independent businesses of Woodward and Brady as well as those who joined them as plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit. A Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Order of Injunction was sought by the company and granted today in a Michigan district court, preventing Woodward and Brady from interfering with the Quixtar Line of Sponsorship (LOS), soliciting IBOs for another business opportunity, disparaging Quixtar and damaging its reputation, and requiring them to return to Quixtar its proprietary and confidential LOS data.

Additional co-plaintiffs whose Quixtar independent businesses were terminated include Billy Florence, Don Wilson, Randy Haugen, Chuck Goetschel, Tim Marks, Kirk Birtles, James Martin, Aron Radosa, David Brandy, Benjamin Dickie, Bruce Gilbank, Michael Martenson, and Chuck Cullen.

Incidentally, the law firm representing the plaintiffs is the same firm involved in several other frivolous lawsuits against Quixtar and IBOs.

Quixtar remains committed to the support of all IBOs and will work with those who agree to abide by the company's rules and maintain high ethical standards. Just go, Team

We terminated Orrin Woodward yesterday, along with several other leaders of his field organization, named Team. We’ll post our formal statement when it’s ready. Informally, here’s the story:

We terminated Orrin Woodward for philosophical reasons. We did it for legal reasons.

But the main reason we did it is because the way Orrin Woodward ran his organization was a disgrace to every person who’s ever tried to build a Quixtar or Amway business the right way.

We have fought to clean up the reputation of our company for years. We know that one of the biggest challenges our reputation faces is misrepresentation of the Quixtar and Amway businesses to others.

And over the last several months, it became clear to us that Orrin Woodward was a poster child for a long list of bad business practices that our critics hate about our company. The other leaders we terminated – including Chris Brady, Billy Florence, Don Wilson, Randy Haugen, Tim Marks and Chuck Goetschel – also showed they were unwilling to reform.

Not telling people they were signing up with Quixtar? Woodward would hide that fact from new Independent Business Owners as long as he could.

Making people think it was easy money? Same deal.

Telling people that Quixtar was merely a “supplier,” and not the company they were signing a contract with? Yup.

We’d told Woodward we had problems with the way he ran his business for years, and we worked methodically to bring those problems to resolution. We got ignored, we got lied to, and, boy, we got the runaround.

So in the end, yesterday, we tried to give him one last chance to reform.

He didn’t even want to hear his options. So we terminated him. And in return, he handed us a trumped-up, trash-talking lawsuit on his way out the door. In response, we have a temporary restraining order issued by a court that prevents him from looting the business as he seeks to take his act to a new company.

So he’s gone, and so are others. We are doing our best to repair the relationships Orrin Woodward damaged and protect the businesses of the people in his organization that Orrin Woodward betrayed. And we will continue building our business with thousands of people who know how to build it the right way.

We would say we were sorry to see Orrin Woodward go. But only if that were true.

Why Amway/Quixtar/BWW is a Scam?

You may be wondering why I call a 2 billion dollar company a scam.

You may be wondering Why motivational organizations like BWW, Network 21, WWDB, TEAM etc are scams.

When I was active in the Quixtar business, there were speakers in the BWW conferences and cds who gave ways of handling Objections. The Main objection they tried to handle is HOW TO ANSWER IF SOMEBODY ASKS WHETHER AMWAY/QUIXTAR IS A SCAM? or more politely: WHETHER THIS QUIXTAR/AMWAY THING REALLY WORKS? or further more politely: WHETHER I CAN REALLY MAKE MONEY THRU' THIS BUSINESS?

Answer you'll get is : See the rich people on the stage! which hardly matters for you as you'll have a question in mind whether it works for me! Rather than giving or getting any concrete answers, you'll be introduced to couple of "rich" Amway/Quixtar salesman (IBOs) who motivates you further without explaining HOW IT WORKS!

I always wondered at that time- Why the BWW conferences focus on proving Quixtar business is not a scam or this thing really works? So, like anybody else, I doubted whether it's a scam! It's like attending a "business training" where you hear and learn ONLY efforts to prove it's not scam! How would you feel when you join a university for a program and pay all tuition fees and all they teach is about the CREDIBILITY OF THE UNIVERSITY AND THAT THE RECOGNITION OF THEIR DEGREES ARE NOT FAKE! LOL

Top Reason for believing that Quixtar/Amway/BWW is a scam!

1. People are recruited to Quixtar with "Fake promises of making extra income in free time without having to make any investment". They hide the fact that you will need to buy overpriced products for at least $300 every month, sell these overpriced products if you want to make money and spend extra couple of hundreds for buying cds, books and going to conference. Nobody told you that you wont get any help from your uplines, if you don't buy cds, books and tapes and don't attend conferences and meetings at your own expenses. So, what do you call if you are provided fabricated information and fake promises while being recruited- A Scam or NOT?

2. If 90% people never makes money in Quixtar and quit, and the remaining 10% takes advantage of these 90% and makes money, what do you call it-SCAM OR NOT? If not, why should we blame corrupted politicians, gang lords, mafia or even petty thieves? If you call people who loose money in Quixtar as Looser and who exploit these people and make money as winners; then all these corrupted politicians should be called Winners?

3. If you were told not to mention the name of AMWAY/Quixtar while recruiting new people, what do you call that kinda business? You're doing a business with a company (or selling products of a company) whose name can't be mentioned while selling its products or even recruiting new people. If it's not a scam, why don't you tell "PROUDLY" that you're a Amway/Quixtar salesman while hunting for new people at malls, grocery stores etc Why do the so called RICH PEOPLE ON THE STAGE don't mention the name of Amway/Quixtar at a recruiting seminar/open meetings?

4. You're asked to handle the objections of "Scam" by pointing out that Amway/Quixtar is a 2 billion dollar company and that FTC didn't shut it down and Partner store trusted them. You are bothered about the COMPANY ONLY if you're attending a job interview at that company or trying to get a job there. Otherwise you don't have many things to do with that company or its reputation. For doing business, all you need to care is whether the BUSINESS PLAN IS A SCAM OR NOT!

Let me explain why Amway plan is a scam!

AMWAY/QUIXTAR Business plan is a SCAM- BWW Promises are FAKE!

1.Amway is selling its 30 year old pyramid business plan. Nothing changed (other than change of name) when it started its online business with a name Quixtar. Nothing is going to happen when Quixtar will be renamed back to Amway! In the initial stages, when nobody is aware of what a MLM is, many people who joined first and during that time MADE MONEY! So, the rich people whom you see on the stage like Bill Britt, Dexter Yager, Kanti Gala, Raj Shah, Ganesh Shenoy, Ron Puryear etc are old Amway distributors who joined in the intial wave. Now the business is almost stagnated and it's hard to convince anybody that Amway/Quixtar plan works because the boat is already sailed long back and now people are aware of what MLM scams are and how this works!

2. People made money in Pyramid schemes and money chains when it was started as less people were aware of it. FTC shut down pyramid schemes and money chain due to its fraudulent nature. Then you may be wondering why PYRAMID SCHEME LIKE AMWAY WAS NOT SHUT DOWN. FTC's ruling was that pyramid scheme is the one where just recruiting and money flow happens and not the movement of products and goods. Amway found a workaround by selling products to downlines and faking it as "sales" made to other people other than its distributors/ibos. Laws have loopholes and politicians are corrupt. That's why there are Amways, Enrons etc. Not becoz, these are perfect companies which sell genuine plans! Forgot to mention, Amway's president Rich DeVos was the Republican candidate for Michigan Governor. So, you can imagine where all his roots penetrate!

3. If you are planning to do a business with a company, ALL YOU CARE IS WHETHER THEIR BUSINESS PLAN WORKS OR WHETHER YOU CAN REALLY MAKE MONEY BY DOING THE BUSINESS. Answer to whether business plan works is NOT THAT AMWAY IS A 2 Billions Dollar company. A 2 Billion dollar company doesn't give away million $$$ for all people who register as their IBO. ALL YOU NEED TO CARE IS WHETHER THE BUSINESS PLAN HAS A SCOPE OF MAKING ATLEAST COUPLE OF HUNDREDS BY DOING BUSINESS WITH A BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY? If your commonsense doesn't allow to see it in their business plan, then runaway. Don't take any verbal promises. See it in paper and judge it.

4. BWW and its "follower Quixtar/Amway IBOs" gave you fake promises of getting "rich" by doing Amway business, you have every right to know HOW? If somebody don't have a direct answer for this question, you can doubt his motives. "Rich" is a relative term. It doesn't mean in Amway/BWW dictionary terms like Emeralds, Diamonds etc, it should be at least mean "NOT BANKRUPT" after doing Amway Business. LOL

5. If a business plan doesn't show you a potential of making money more than what you spent, do you think you can ever succeed in doing such a business? If you think that you can never succeed in that business by seeing its plan, how do you believe somebody who tell that you can make millions? If somebody hides the fact that you really make money by selling cds and books to people whom you recruit and NOT by selling Amway products, What do you call such a bussiness which hide facts? Also you're asked to hide the fact that you're an Amway salesman when you hunt people at the malls. If the entire business starts with dishonesty, how can you expect that what all promises you got from all these dishonest persons are TRUE?

So, DO YOU CALL IT A SCAM OR NOT? I call it a scam! I guess any person with minimum commonsense do!

In a nutshell

Amway business plan and practices are scam! Bww promises are fake! You won't make a single penny by joining the business run by a company whose turn over is 2 billion or even 3 trillion. LOL You make money from a business, if you see a scope of making money in their BUSINESS PLAN. If you don't see it, but still was given fake promises of becoming rich, it's FAKE. You may have to do illegal things to avoid bankruptcy.

Solution: Ask your upline or people who gave you the promises to make millions to Give the promises in writing that too in a notarized document. They'll runaway before you do! LOL

ADA -- British regulators are threatening to ban Amway and two of its
high-level distributors from the United Kingdom in a legal battle that
has the Ada company scrambling to rein in its independent sales force.

The complaint is sealed, but the "objectionable" practices revolve
around a persistent problem for Amway's parent company, Alticor:
distributors more focused on selling their motivational books, tapes
and seminars to salespeople than peddling Amway merchandise.

The complaint also focuses on recruitment tactics that inflate income
estimates for new salespeople.

The United Kingdom Department of Trade and Industry moved against
Amway and the distributors -- Britt WorldWide in North Carolina and
Network TwentyOne in Georgia -- following a yearlong investigation.

The British court will not hear the case until the end of the year,
during which time Amway hopes to persuade the government that changes
have been made.

If the government wins its case, it could lead to the shutdown of
Amway operations in the UK.

While sales there are only a sliver of the company's $6.3 billion
globally, the case is an embarrassment for the Grand Rapids area's
most famous business and is prompting global action.

"Obviously, when a regulator comes asking questions about your
business it's not good," said Mike Mohr, general counsel for Alticor.
"We wouldn't wish this on anybody."

Amway said it has acted swiftly, placing a 120-day moratorium on
recruitment of new distributors in the UK and a ban on sales of
motivational tapes and literature not produced by the company.

Amway said it also is conducting a major review of its practices
worldwide and has sped up a planned reorganization of its operations.

"This makes very clear we are deadly serious about establishing a new
way to promote the Amway business," Mohr said.

Although one of Amway's oldest international markets, the UK accounts
for only about $25 million to $30 million in sales. In contrast, Asian
markets account for billions in sales.

British authorities are not talking.

"The (Department of Trade and Industry) does not comment on the
affairs of individual companies," said spokeswoman Lorna Dennis.

Distributors are huge

Britt WorldWide and Network TwentyOne are high-level Amway
distributors that have grown into huge companies in their own right.

Britt WorldWide, based in Burlington, N.C., is owned by Bill Britt.
Network TwentyOne is owned by Jim and Nancy Dornan, of Atlanta.

Neither returned calls for comment.

Motivational tapes are a big business for Bill Britt and Britt
WorldWide, which owns tape and CD production house American Multimedia.

American Multimedia has nearly 300 employees and $31 million in sales,
according to a Dun & Bradstreet Inc. profile.

Seminars are a major activity for Network TwentyOne. According to the
company's Web site, it "coordinates, directs and oversees the
planning, marketing and execution of more than 350 business seminars
every week around the world."

It organizes everything "from a multi-day, 30,000-attendee sales
training seminar in India ... to an audio/video based training program
developed in over 20 languages, produced and distributed in 35
countries to over 100,000 clients," the site said.

Motivational tapes problematic

The sale of business support materials, or BSMs, has been a thorny
issue for Alticor for a while.

Critics claim many large-scale distributors make more money selling
their independently produced motivational tapes than they do selling
actual product.

Reining in the distributors will be tricky. If restrictions are placed
on the sales and distribution of the promotional materials in other
parts of the world, it could rile high-level distributors who have
millions invested in their sales.

Ripples from the UK shake-up could be felt globally and has sped up
plans for changes.

Worldwide ramifications

Last month, Alticor announced to its distributors it would scrap the
Quixtar and Alticor names, adopted seven years ago, and return to
being known as Amway.

That was the name its founders, Rich DeVos and the late Jay Van Andel,
gave the company. Their sons, President Doug DeVos and Chairman Steve
Van Andel now run the company.

The name change is part of the "global review" of business practices
aimed at restoring consumer confidence in the company, the company's
letter said.

In a memo to distributors in the UK and Ireland, Ben Woodward, branch
manager of Amway UK said the company has started a "global audit" that
will be completed this month.

"Many of you know that for the past 10 years, Amway has been moving to
exert more control over the way we do business globally," he wrote.

"In newer markets, that has meant, for example, outright bans or tight
restrictions on the sale of non-company BSMs and the requirement of a
more consistent, approved messaging and branding by (independent
business owners) about the Amway business opportunity."

Alticor spokesman Rob Zeiger said the company is implementing "best
practices" around the world.

"We need to bring best practices to bear wherever we can," he said.
"It's not easy to do instantaneous changes in 58 markets. It's just a
question of getting through it."

Amway brand name coming back

ADA, Mich. (AP) -- Quixtar is on its way out. Amway is on its way back.

Direct-sales giant Alticor Inc. confirmed Wednesday that it will scrap its 7-year-old Quixtar Inc. label during the next 1 1/2 to two years and focus on rebuilding its Amway brand in North America.

The Alticor name itself will be relegated to the back burner.

Employees received the news last week in an internal memo from company Chairman Steve Van Andel and President Doug DeVos, The Grand Rapids Press reported.

"We are going through a global transformation of our business," the memo said. "This includes rethinking our global approach to products, training, brands, and how we operate in all the countries in which Alticor operates. As part of that, in 18 to 24 months, we're planning to begin using the Amway name in North America to unite our business opportunity under a single global brand."

Although no public announcement has been made, Alticor spokesman Rob Zeiger confirmed the changes Wednesday, adding that he does not expect any jobs to be lost as a result.

The company dropped the Amway name in the United States and Canada in 2000 as part of an overhaul that took what had started as a door-to-door vitamin sales business into the world of online sales via Quixtar.

The move also was widely viewed as a way of helping the company shed some of the negative connotations the Amway name had acquired.

The Quixtar name, however, never resonated with the public.

"Research has shown us that the Quixtar name is weaker and less known in the U.S. and Canada than we ever expected," the memo said. "Meanwhile, even eight years after leaving North America, the Amway name is stronger and better known than we realized."

The Amway name has enjoyed a resurgence overseas as the company focused on expanding operations under that banner in Asia. Amway China last year accounted for more than $2 billion of Alticor's $6.3 billion in annual sales.

The Amway name began to re-emerge in the United States last year when the company bought the naming rights to the arena in which Amway co-founder Rich DeVos' Orlando Magic of the NBA play their home games.

Quixtar Indian IBOs or Desi IBO encounters at Malls!!

When you're new to this country, no matter what visa you're in...may be a student in F1 visa, may be dependent in F2 or H4, or an IT consultant in H1 visa, you've to go thru' a stage where you'll have an encounter with a Quixtar IBO and that too an Indian IBO or a Desi IBO with a smile in his face and crook in his mind!

Sounds scary? It's not as scary as it seems to be. They don't look scary, but looks one among you, may be more attractive with more "make up" in women's face! YOU KNOW WHY? Because all these rivers converge to a BIG SCAM NAMED QUIXTAR WHICH IS THE OLD DEVIL AMWAY! These are the recruiters of Quixtar/Amway who will approach you with false promises of extra income, IT job shifting, IT jobs etc.

If you accidently tell them that you're interested in making extra income, YOU"LL BE INVITED FOR A FREE BUSINESS PRESENTATION! They may tell that the entry to the meeting is thru' invitation and you're invited as their GUEST. Truth is that the meetings are mainly to RECRUIT INNOCENT PEOPLE LIKE YOU INTO THE QUIXTAR SCAM!

Quixtar GooGle Bombing and Information Misrepresentation

Quixtar is now actively "bombing" all over the internet to mislead anybody who look for independent reviews about Quixtar to make a decision of whether to join Quixtar or not. It's modern way of suppressing free speech. In this high tech world, you can't stop anybody from writing and publishing truths. But what you can do is DETOUR PEOPLE AWAY FROM TRUTHS! Easy way: "Search Engine Bombing" rather than rectifying the criticisms.

If somebody jumps on you at the mall and pulls you to a business conference or a meeting where you heard a buzz name "Quixtar"!You'll be naturally confused as speaker of the meeting tells you that you can make millions by doing something on your free time! You come home and google for the information about Quixtar. Now all you see in the search engine is Quixtar Corporate Site, thisbiznow.com, Quixtarfacts and more sites which give testimonials about HOW PEOPLE GETS RICH WITHOUT A JOB? Only testimonials, all fancy!

Nobody mentions HOW? just mentions that you become rich!! Joke of the year. You can't make a decision!

The reality about Quixtar is you can't really make millions thru' selling Quixtar Products! BTW, I didn't mention What really Quixtar is? It's the 30 year OLD door to door soap selling company AMWAY with its new name. Why Amway changed its name? Read my post on the change of name! The only way you can make money is thru' selling BOOKS AND CDS at a higher price to people whom you Recruit. These are by the sale of Business Tools which are just motivational speeches made by you or somebody above you in conferences which you've to attend once you join Quixtar! BTW, these conferences are not free and costs you a couple of 100 $$.

Why and What information Quixtar suppresses?

Registering as a Quixtar IBO costs only $35. BUT YOU ARE NEVER TOLD THAT! Your sponsorer gets money if you buys products and by not just registering! So motivational organizations like BWW, NETWORK 21, TEAM, WWDB etc which joins hands with Quixtar\Amway deliberately hide this fact and registers people for $315.

They hides the fact that you can register for $35

They hides the fact that PV/BV (the business points) RESETS to ZERO every month.

They hide the fact that you'll need to spend 250-300 $$ every month to get 100 PV for that month and get a bonus of $7.5

They hides the fact that you've to "SELL products and NOT just consume" to recover a part of money you spent every month.

They hide the fact you've to buy overpriced CDs, books, tapes etc from your uplines/sponsorers to get their help.

They hide the fact that you've to spent a couple of 100s of dollars to attend meetings and conference conducted by the motivational organizations like BWW, NETWORK 21, TEAM, WWDB etc to get the help.

They hide the fact that AMWAY\QUIXTAR is a real pyramid scheme and misleads you with the information that your job/company structure is a pyramid scheme. In your job, you earns money, but in Amway/Quixtar you looses money!

THEY HIDE THE FACT THAT YOU'RE NOT OWNING A BUSINESS RATHER OWNING SOME BUSINESS OWNERS WHO WILL EAT ALL YOU MONEY BY SELLING CONFERENCE TICKETS, CDS, BOOKS AND TAPES.

The result is : Thousands of new IBOs are loosing money and quiting every year! Then you wonder who makes money? The people who joined Amway when it started the concept of Pyramid scheme or MLM, when nobody knows about what pyramid scheme is!

How Amway fixes Business tool scam of motivational organizations?

Amway knows that IBOS are loosing money and going bankrupt due to this tool scam by motivational organizations BWW, NETWORK 21, TEAM, WWDB etc. They don't want to warn them. AND WHO WILL BITE THE HANDS WHICH FEEDS THEM? Amway don't bother who looses money and who is scammed! All they care is they get money!

So, in a BWW FED conference 2006 (one conference by BWW organization), Amway/Quixtar announced that they are going to be aggressive with hiding "negatives about Quixtar"!

The company started bombing to suppress all real information about QUIXTAR SCAM floated in the internet. The easy way is Google Bombing and moderate the contents of Public portals like Wikipedia.

Within days, the Pyramid Scam turns in to a reputable company in the internet! That's Quixtar, the old evil AMWAY!

If you really want reviews mentioning the experiences of people who joined Amway/Quixtar, try with some keywords like:

Google for : Quixtar Sucks, Quixtar Victims, Quixtar Deception etc

This will give voices of people who have been cheated by the scam. As a matter of fact, NOBODY WILL SEARCH FOR FANCY TALKS ABOUT A COMPANY OR BUSINESS FOR MAKING A DECISION. That you would have got enough from the Salesman who try to get you in the Amway/Quixtar business.

How BWW Business School mess your finances?

While I was doing my grad school and whenever I needed a book/course material, I usually browse for used books in local book store or in the internet to save money. I usually look for used books at Amazon Market Place, Half.com or Ebay wherever I get a better deal. That's what most of my friends do. It's a commonsense thing!

But, when I joined quixtar, I was told by my upline to invest money on buying books and cds from him. He gave couple of cds mentioning the need of BUYING CDS AND BOOKS from the BWW system. He explained me the need of having these "tools" to build my business. After listening to cds and reading books, I also felt that these are the basic building blocks for learning business and knowing how to run it! My upline was happy that I started reading books and listening to cds. The very next weekend, he drove to my place and brought me couple of Cds and books. I was shocked at the price I need to pay for these craps!!

Each cds costed me $8 and books varied in price starting from $10 to $25. I was totally shocked. His trip in the weekend costed me $250. As a matter of curiosity, I went to Amazon Market place and searched for the book titles which I just bought. I was shocked, most of these books are avalable from 1 cent to less than a dollar added with $3.49 for standard Amazon Marketplace shipping. So each book might have costed me less than $5, if I didn't purchase it from my upline. Same was the shocking truth about cds. I saw that there are many people selling BWW and other organization's cds in ebay. I was shocked by the price of the final bids. Many cases, people are selling 100 cds for $50. i.e you heard me! Each cds costs less than a dollar or may be maximum a 1 $ and NOT $8 per cd as sold by your upline!!!

I was so pissed off! Am I lacking something intelligence, sorry, commonsense? I was so raged! But I have a professional or business decency of NOT talking about being ripped off to the upline. So I stayed calm and decided that I won't buy anything from him again.

But the things got worse when my upline all of a sudden called me and told that I need to be STANDING ORDER. I was so annoyed. I told him that I need to think over before going to standing order. Oh no, if somebody don't know what that crap is? Let me explain: Standing order is the way of auto subscription to books, tapes, cds and dvds so that every month you'll get all these craps (which you don't want) for atleast $50. That means that they'll get atleast $50 from you by sending all the overpriced cds and books.

He tried to convince me that Standing order is the way that you can build the business. It's like spending money for educating and building your business. It's just like we spent money on books to get a degree.

This was the height of idiocracy and crook. I reacted!

NO UNIVERSITY TOLD ME THAT YOU SHOULD BUY ALL NEW BOOKS AT A HIGHER PRICE TO GRADUATE WITH A DEGREE

NO UNIVERSITY TOLD ANY OF THEIR STUDENTS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT BUY USED BOOKS TO GET A DEGREE.

NO PROFESSOR TOLD ME TO BUY BOOKS FROM HIM TO GET A DEGREE.

What's special with BWW?

WHAT SPECIAL TRAINING WILL BWW GIVE WITH NEW BOOKS WHICH USED BOOKS CAN'T GIVE?

The truth is BWW OR UPLINE DOESN'T CARE WHETHER YOU LEARN OR NOT!

ALL THEY CARE IS WHETHER YOU BUY BOOKS AND CDS FROM THEM AT A HIGHER PRICE WHICH PAYS THEM TO BUY STUFFS FOR THIER WIFE AND KIDS!

The hardcore truth is BY buying Books and Cds you're feeding your upline's family by starving your family.

Best of the Best Products! What a high quality products Amway has manufactured for us! These are the buzz words you hear a lot when you attend Amway/Quixtar/BWW motivational meetings and conferences!

Last day, one of the frustrated Amway IBO from India messaged me after reading my blog. He started his message calling me a LOOSER!

Ha ha, I was not shocked! I understands his psychology! When I was active in the business and heard negatives about Quixtar from one of my friend whom I was trying to recruit, my upline told me to stay away from him and that he is no longer my friend as he told negative about Quixtar. My upline started his advices that those who tell negatives about Quixtar are just loosers and have no dream in their life! I totally understands the psychology of the kid who called me a looser! He may be a beginner in the Amway business and the whole recruiting and NOW a total slave of his upline!

Huh, I am deviating from the topic!

On one of my message, I told that guy that Amway products are overpriced craps! Then he demanded a price and quality comparison of High Quality Amway products to any local product in the market. This question from the guy is the basic motivation behind writing this post!

Are AmwayQuixtar Products of High Quality?

When you were/are a new comer in the business, you'll be totally upset about the price of any item. Naturally, you go around and ask your upline Why these products are so expensive?

Then you upline will convince you with these points:

1. Amway products are compared COST PER USE.
Still you wont get it. The most expensive Body Wash in the market costs around $5, but lesser quantity Quixtar product will cost you $12. If you do that comparison then, next answer from your upline will be:

2. Amway products are highly concentrated!
That means that you just need to use one drop of Amway Body wash to wash your entire body when compared to couple of drops for other branded body wash. Excuse me, I am lacking some common sense to believe this ad. gimmick. If you think this is true, then Buy AMWAY PRODUCTS AND DON"T USE IT AT ALL. JUST KEEP IT IN THE SHELF, IT"LL LAST FOREVER!

3. Amway products are the highest quality products ever manufactured in this earth!

This is the real think hour for you. If I answer all questions, you'll think that I'm biased and always throw negatives!

If you've common sense, just think this logic.

1. Companies manufacture and sell products to make profit, so is Amway!

2. If a company produces the best product in the earth, they first advertise it to whole world, sell to the whole world and do all sort of things to make profit.

3. So, if somebody thinks that Amway produces the world's best products, why are they just doing mouth to mouth ads and selling to small group of people? Do you think that Amway is doing these stuffs for charity. If you think so, you lacks something BIG! Try researching the company and their products! By research, I didn't mean "asking your upline".

4. If they don't produce any extra ordinary products, then WHY IS IT OVERPRICED? Now Quixtar started selling cheap Chinese imitation jewelery for over $ 25. Do you think Chinese jewelery makes special products for Quixtar? These jewelery can be found from any Chinese shops in the Mall for $2.

If you still have the common sense left, ASK THESE QUESTIONS YOURSELVES AND FIND THE ANSWER

OR JUST CONTINUE MESSING UP YOUR FINANCES!

You made a greatest decision in your life- you joined the scam-Quixtar! Congratulations.

Now what?

Your uplines are over you? They deal you, your family and kids!

You didn't get me. They'll tell you how you should behave exactly with your family, kids, parents and friends. You've to deal all these guys diplomatically. By "guys", I mean your family members and friends. Now your upline comes above your family members and friends. He is your mentor and master. That's 101 of BWW-Quixtar business.

Then a question comes to your mind. Why I don't know how to treat my family? Yes of course you know. But you don't know "HOW" after joining the "business". Hereafter this "scam" will herein be referred as "business".

BUT DON'T BE SCARED, THESE CHANGES COME INTO EFFECT ONLY WHEN YOU BECOME CORE.

What is CORE?

Core is a stage when somebody does all the 9 core steps as inscribed in the BWW-QUIXTAR doctrine. It's one less in 10 commandments. Out of this 9 commandments, 2 of them are the most important ones:

Teachability
Submission

Teachability is you should be a vacuum cleaner ready to suck anything and everything your upline throws.

Submission is when you submit everything to your upline- i.e. money, time, family and whatever you see as important. By doing this, you are giving all rights to BWW to screw you and your family.

Truth is stranger than lies!! Microsoft didn't built website for Quixtar because Quixtar is a great company and that Microsoft has taken a pledge to serve great companies. Rather, quixtar has payed Microsoft for their services like hiring any website contractors. Even Microsoft has issued a notice to quixtar to stop braging about its affiliation with Microsoft. So, Quixtar officially stopped mentioning Microsoft Partnership but rather let word of mouth thru' its sales distributors (IBOs).

True Control thru' False Respect & False Love

When you're active in the business and active with BWW or any motivational organization, you'll compete to win Upline's love, appreciation and respect. Isn't it?

At that time, if you come across a negative website, you'll jump over it and put your comment in it and throwing shit at it. You may even put a comment that the author thinks everything negative and that he has no life and all. You'll even forward that link with your comments to your upline to get his applause. If you're going thru' that stage, it's normal. i did these things till I realized that I am edifying something evil!

BWW teaches you thru' cds and thru your own upline to edify him to new prospects,then only they'll listen to him. You'll do that to your new prospects and you yourselves show lot of respect to your upline infront of them. This gradually goes on and turn into a scenario where upline gains control over you and your prospect. Knowingly or unknowingly, you're transforming a slave to your upline. Now you'll do whatever it takes to gain the upline's respect.

This is what you heard from all motivational leaders in the stage about HOW THEY WANT TO BE IN THE BACKPOCKET OF THEIR UPLINE!

This is the way how they tell you that How you should be. This is indirect psychology. Not telling things directly, rather telling how other downlines behaves and does things. It is indirectly saying that you should do those things. You will start thinking that this is how business is to be done.

No leader will tell that a downline is important, they'll tell that you've to just listen and tell what upline's tell and that they're important. Truth is that WITHOUT DOWNLINE SPENDING MONEY, THERE IS NO BUSINESS FOR UPLINE.

NOW TELL ME WHO IS IMPORTANT-UPLINE OR DOWNLINE?
But still you want to win the respect and love from your upline after spending all your time and money to sustain upline's business!

Strange world ! Are you missing something. Everything is FAKE! respect, love, friendship etc.
ONLY TRUTH IS THEY WANT YOUR MONEY. WHEN YOU STOP SPENDING IT FOR CONFERENCES, SEMINARS, CDS, BOOKS, THERE IS NO LOVE, FRIENDSHIP AND RESPECT.

So everything equates to your money.

Logically, you're spending your money to buy respect, love and friendship of your upline. LOL

Spend it for your family, that pays you back!

Quixtar or BWW-Who is EVIL?

Answer is I don't know.

You can't compare 2 devils and tell who is worst. However, I feel that BWW and other motivational organizations are more blood suckers than Quixtar.

Here is my experience and the logical reasoning!

1. Written vs. Verbal Manipulative

Quixtar has everything in paper in the form of welcome kit which contains the Business Etiquette and how it works. BWW verbally manipulates the facts about how this business works!

2. Registration: Actual vs. Manipulative

Quixtar requires IBOs to inform prospects about the registration fee and the optional purchase towards 100 PV. BWW instructs IBOs not to disclose about the registration fee, instead collect $ 315 as registration, products and "taxes". This is a serious Business Rule Violation.

3. Tools: Actual vs. Manipulative

Quixtar didn't recognize BWW as an official training organization, so do their "tools". So, it's clearly written in the starter guide that purchase of tools are optional and doesn't relate to building the business. BWW manipulates it and promotes TOOLS as basic business building blocks and that NO BUSINESS HAPPENS WITHOUT TOOLS!

4. Seminars and Conferences

Quixtar never recommends attending any conferences or seminars. BWW manipulates and demands IBOs to attend seminars and conferences and spend all their money on these craps which itself is the main business of BWW.

5. Initial expenses vs. maintenance cost

Quixtar is promoted as a business with "lack of capital and huge investment" which helps anybody to build a business. But reality is far from these lies. To maintain a business, you need to do monthly investments on overpriced things which you don't want. BWW makes this further worse with the requirement of spending on attending seminars, conferences and purchasing cds and books. Altogether, it'll be more than studying at Harvard:) with a difference that you won't get a prestigious degree, but can file bankruptcy.

6.Ignorant or Diplomatic

Quixtar knows all these practices of BWW and violation of business etiquettes. But they don't care as far as money is coming in and nobody is suing them.They don't care whether IBOs are loosing money due to the manipulative interpretations or false promises of BWW. All they care is that they get money and more people are joining their scam. After all, WHICH Pyramid Scheme or scammer has commitment to the society or the community? All they care is screw people and get their hard earned money with FALSE HOPES AND FALSE PROMISES!

Quixtar: The Amway Incarnated!

Many people outside North America won't be familiar with the name Quixtar! Don't worry, this is the same old AMWAY. Quixtar is just a new incarnation of Amway.

You wonder why they changed the name?

Here is the Amway's version of answer :
"We changed the name as we are going online" This is the official announcement.

So, if a company built an e-commerce site, should it be named something else? But I didn't see this phenomena with anyother companies! Did Walmart went online as jamboo.com?

NO, just as WALMART.COM

Then what's special about AMWAY?
Simple Answer is : Bad Reputation!

Here is the real Quixtar story! This is not my version. This story has been published in the MLM Survivors Club.

A Brief History Of Quixtar:

The history of Quixtar is inexorably linked to Amway. Amway was founded in 1959, when Rich deVos, Jay Van Andel, and some of their top distributors in the Nutrilite Company, got together to form their own multi-level marketing company. The name of their association was The American Way, which was shortened to Amway when they named the company. Their first product was a cleaning product called Frisk, which was the precursor to L.O.C. (liquid organic concentrate.) For many years the company grew slowly, and it became known as a direct sales company, where people sold to their neighbors and lugged their products door to door in wagons. Some time in the 1960s or early 1970s, Dexter Yager, a high level distributor, formalized his "training" and motivational system into an organized business, in which he started recording and selling tapes of seminars he held to teach and inspire the downline distributors. It soon became apparent that this business was making more money for the upline distributors than the actual Amway business. Only in the past four years has this information become widely available through the internet and through Ruth Carter's book, Amway Motivational Organizations: Behind the Smoke and Mirrors.

In the latter half of the 1970s, the FTC investigated the legality of the Amway business. Amway was investigated as a possible pyramid scheme. The final court order handed down in 1979 criticized Amway because of price fixing, but allowed the company to exist because of two features in the rules: 1) The buy-back rule and 2) The rules regarding retail sales. The buy-back rule allowed distributors to return product for a full refund. This was purportedly to prevent inventory loading and protect the distributor from being sold a bunch of product they couldn't turn around and sell. The rules which refer to retail sales are extremely important. The two rules are 1) the 70% rule, which states that a distributor must sell at least 70% of the total amount of products purchased during a given month in order to receive the Performance Bonus and 2) the retail sales rule, which states that the distributor must make not less than one sale to each of 10 different retail customers or have at least 50 PV of sales to any number of retail customers and produce proof of such sales.¹ It was these rules that prevented Amway from being declared an illegal pyramid scheme. However, in its original decision, the FTC did not address the enforcement of the rules. In later FTC rulings against other multi-level marketing companies, such as Equinox, the lack of enforcement of these very same rules led to the FTC shutting down those companies. Unfortunately, the FTC has not re-investigated Amway/Quixtar.

Amway/Quixtar IBOs (the Quixtar name for distributors) would have you believe that the FTC "approved" the Amway Sales and Marketing Plan. In meetings, they often state that the Plan is the only one that has the FTC's stamp of approval. Actually, Amway barely got out of being shut down by the FTC.² There was a huge dip in the Amway business in the early 1980s, directly as a result of this investigation, and also another legal entanglement the Amway Corporation faced. In 1979, the Canadian government slapped the corporation with a $25 million dollar fine for tax fraud. It is one of the largest fines ever imposed by the Canadian government, and it is a wonder the founders didn't face prison time. Amway actually kept two sets of invoices for its Canadian business, real ones and fake ones. The corporation did this to prevent payment of tariffs. In the court documents, it is clear that Jay Van Andel was heavily involved in this tax evasion scheme.³

In 1986, the Amway Corporation made a leap forward in the MLM business world by developing contractual agreements to have the IBOs distribute products and services that were not manufactured by Amway. The first of these was MCI long distance service. Amway Corp. began marketing all sorts of products, from clothing to food items to appliances, and services such as its own automobile club, voicemail, and real estate rebates (a rebate on the sale of your home if you use an Amway recommended agent.)

In the early 1990s, the company was growing at the rate of $1 billion worth of sales per year. Of course, since this was a privately owned company, the sales were reported as "retail sales" when in fact less than 20% of sales were to retail customers.⁴ Then, with the advent of the internet, real people began putting together real websites, and the truth became much more widely available. And the truth was not a pretty picture at all. Far from it.

Much of the growth in Amway during that time was due to the opening of markets overseas, in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Back home, the plan wasn't working very well at all. In 1982, Wisconsin's Assistant State Attorney General, Bruce Craig, conducted a survey of Direct Distributors (now known as Platinum IBOs) and found that their average annual net income was a loss of $918.⁵ There was no evidence in the 1990s that this state of affairs had changed for the distributors. Also, Amway was being linked with the words "pyramid scheme" and "cult." It had acquired an image of distributors taking advantage of their friends and relatives for commercial purposes. Big distributors were filling stadiums with rah-rah rallies and raking in all kinds of money from their downline distributors, who were losing thousands of dollars per year. Why were they losing money? Because the products were too highly priced and because people do not tolerate the commercialization of the relationships with friends and relatives. And, especially, they were discouraged from retailing.

So, with all this negative press, the top distributors and Amway got together and decided to launch a new company, called Quixtar, in 1999. The name was different so that people wouldn't immediately recognize its link to Amway. Quixtar was an online business, and it had some additional loosely-linked companies, known as Partner Stores. Amway founders formed an umbrella corporation called Alticor. The establishment of Alticor allowed them to break up the Amway corporation into different subsidiaries. When Quixtar launched, Amway distributors could sign up IBOs as Amway IBOs or Quixtar IBOS. They could mix and match. New recruits had to do business as Quixtar IBOs, though. The Amway sales and marketing plan and the Quixtar sales and marketing plan are one and the same. The Quixtar business was developed as a deception. It was developed to get rid of the name Amway, which had developed such a bad reputation. On January 1, 2003, Amway North America ceased to exist.

All along, people who got in the business were being told that they didn't have to sell anything, in direct violation of FTC regulations.! They were being told that all they needed to do was buy from their own business and teach others to do the same. The retail sales rules were not only being ignored, they were being openly sneered at. Also, the expense of doing business was ignored and is still ignored by those showing the marketing plan. Lastly, the marketing plan is a piece of fiction. It simply does not exist in the real world.

It needs to be pointed out that any business should be viewed as a closed system. Money comes from somewhere and goes somewhere. Products come from somewhere and go somewhere. Without retail customers, it should be obvious that, in Quixtar, the money comes from the lowest level distributors. Therefore, the lowest level IBOs must have expenses which far exceed their revenues. The business relies on the influx of new distributors or it quickly falls apart from the bottom. So what is holding it together?

The tapes, the books, the functions, the relationships. If an outsider listens to a few tapes or attends a seminar, he quickly understands that all the tapes do is encourage people to listen to more tapes and never, ever miss a seminar. But the IBOs are told from the beginning that the only way to succeed, that the roadmap to success, is through the tapes, the books, and the functions. In those tapes and functions, what is really being taught is the following: People who miss seminars are regarded as not being serious about the business, and those who drop out are quickly labeled losers. Those who don't understand the business from the insider's point of view are regarded as negative, and are to be dismissed or ignored. Frequently, the very act of participating in "the system" is equated with doing business in the IBO's brainwashed mind.

But not only is "the system" (tapes, books, functions) holding it all together, it is also the main source of Amway/Quixtar-related income of the top Diamond distributors. From here forward in this paper, "the system" will be referred to as the tools "business." There is documented evidence that well over 90% of the income of the top-level Diamond IBOs comes from the tools "business." ^{6 7} In other words, the Amway/Quixtar business is a front for a hidden tools "business" that is raking in the cash. The Diamonds show off a lifestyle of outrageous wealth, but that wealth does not come from the Amway/Quixtar business, it comes directly from the tools "business." It comes directly from the pockets of low-level IBOs, representing thousands of dollars lost by people who think they are in business making money. In reality, they are customers of the tools "business." Is this deceptive? Absolutely.

Over the past several years, there have been many lawsuits filed regarding the tools "business." The lawsuits are not suits filed by disgruntled IBOs who didn't succeed, as Crown Ambassador Dexter Yager would have you believe. Many, if not most, of the suits are between Emeralds and Diamonds and their own upline Diamonds, and are disputes over the tools "business" income. One such recent lawsuit spells out many of the deceptions carried out by the high-level Diamonds and the corporation's complicity in these deceptions. It is well worth taking the time to read this court document thoroughly.⁷

In 2001, one group of Diamonds, called Team in Focus (TIF) realized that it was unfair to hide the tools income from the downline IBOs, and tried to develop a tools business in which everyone got a piece of the pie. TIF tried to structure the tools business after their Quixtar business. But they were so brainwashed by their own tools, they forgot that by failing to sell Quixtar products to customers outside the business, they were operating their Quixtar business as an illegal pyramid scheme. And they wanted to do the same thing with the tools. For a while, the Quixtar lawyers went along. But eventually, someone at the corporation woke up and realized that the only way the tools "business" could operate without being a pyramid scheme was to keep it secret, so that the low-level IBOs function as customers!^{8 9} The outcome of this debacle is that 18 Diamonds and Emeralds were forced to leave Quixtar in 2002. Some were kicked out; the others resigned.

In a nutshell, the following are the major problems with the Quixtar business:

1. The Quixtar business is being operated as a pyramid scheme, since the rules are being ignored, even scoffed at. Quixtar estimates that only 18% of its product is sold to retail customers.⁴

2. The Quixtar business is a front for the far more lucrative tools "business." This is a deceptive business practice.

3. The lifestyle that is portrayed by the Diamonds is a result of the tools income, not the Quixtar business. Furthermore, many Diamonds live beyond their means, often using credit card debt, to exhibit a lifestyle they cannot afford. This is a deceptive business practice, and a misrepresentation of the income potential of Quixtar. In fact, more than 99% of IBOs never make any money, and some lose a great deal of money.¹⁰

4. The low level IBOs cannot participate in the tools income, or the tools "business" would very obviously be an illegal pyramid scheme.

5. High-level IBOs have a financial incentive to prevent many IBOs from succeeding because they would be obliged to split the tools income.

6. The tools contain very sophisticated brainwashing techniques to keep the IBOs blind to the truth about Quixtar and the deceptive business practices.

7. The corporation has known about the problem of the tools scheme for almost 40 years and has not taken any steps to correct the problem.⁷

8. The corporation has assisted a small group of Diamond IBOs in preventing others, even other Diamonds, from correcting the deceptive business practices associated with the tools scheme.⁷

Is this fraud? You can decide for yourself. Ultimately, it will take a court action to render a legally binding opinion on the matter.

Have you heard this: If you don’t make a Dollar, I won’t make a penny?

Yes, may be many times from the mouth of your upline! When he sponsored you or when he was showing the plan for sponsoring somebody for you!

You’re impressed! I too was impressed with these words.

So, I got a feeling that he will make $$ only if I make $$!

So, he will work hard to make my business successful!

That’s how I felt when I saw the Quixtar business plan. That’s the commission structure of quixtar!

Wow I am relaxed; somebody will work for me. He started calling me every night over phone. He is guiding me to go to Open meeting. He’ll follow up with me for attending the PASE meetings. I am so happy. It doesn’t cost me much.

I was happy about this business. An open meeting is just $5/ week. Not bad at all! By going there, You learn to show the plan! Great! You can take any of your friends as guest FREE OF COST! Great Great! After a while you’re told to attend a conference which cost $100 in which 30,000 millionaires will come and teach you to be successful! Another couple of bucks for stay at the hotel and traveling!

And this conferences happens 4 times a year…And you’ll have to attend all these to learn more. It all costs couple of dollars as per my upline!

I already spend $1500 in the past 6 months for sustaining “my business” just for purchases. And I got $ 45 as performance bonus.

So what would you think?

I just made $45 from my business. So, my upline will get just $ 7-8 as commission from my business.

If you think so, you’re missing something! Seriously something!!

It took me little while to realize that “REAL MONEY” (I mean Profit) IN QUIXTAR BUSINESS DON’T COME FROM PURCHASING. BUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: BUT WHAT ARE OTHER SOURCES?

Before going into that, let me glance my other expenses:

Now I really started estimating my cost benefit proportion in this business, even though I know that it’s too early to do that while running a businesses. Still I’ll have to do it as I’m spending all my money!!

I’m in the 6′th month of my business and already attended 2 major conferences. But my business is at the place where I started. just one down line, that too my close friend!

This is my expenditure statement :

24 Open meetings in 6 months : $120 + gas

24 PASE meetings in 6 months: $ 0 + gas

2 Major conferences in 6 months: $ 400 for tickets (me and my spouse)

: $ 160 for accommodation

: $ 400 for bus travel

TOTAL expenses in 6 months: $ 1080

These are the other sources I was mentioning previously. Did any of these RING ANY BELL FOR YOU?

If not! These are money which goes to your upline even if you do or don’t do the business!

They are not bothered whether you sponsor anybody or not. They want you to sponsor anybody to just increase your confidence level in this business and YOU DON’T QUIT!

I always want to get out of Quixtar business as I am trying to find answers for all the questions I asked myself for another 100 times:

I have to spend $250 monthly for getting 100 PV for all stuffs which I don’t want at all
100 PV -What will I get with that? A$7.50 check? Wow!
Energy drinks- Do I really drink it in my normal life?
Vitamins- Have I ever used it before?

Ok forget these basic questions.

But my ultimate question will be Can I become free or become rich thru’ this business?

What will you do if you can’t find answers for this question? Discuss with your wife. She is also confused. So let’s ask our Upline!

One common problem that we see involves those present in the U.S. in a lawful, nonimmigrant status who wish to earn extra money. Such individuals are often attracted toward home-based businesses, sometimes involving multi-level marketing. Because there is no direct employer-employee relationship, it is generally believed, incorrectly, that this does not engage them in any form of unauthorized employment. They are sometimes even advised by those seeking their involvement in the home-based business that it is not employment, since they are not going to receive an IRS W-2 Form for any money that they will earn. This presumption is incorrect and can lead to a series of problems. In some situations, where the earnings are over a certain amount, an individual must receive an IRS Form 1099 for non-employee compensation.

It is not necessary to work for an existing business as an employee in order to be engaged in unauthorized employment. When one establishes a business, even on a part-time basis from home, s/he is considered to be working in the United States. Thus, if one is present in a status that does not allow employment or that only permits employment with a specific sponsoring employer, this person is engaging in unauthorized self-employment. This remains the case even if the involvement is fairly passive, such as in some Internet-based businesses and certain multi-level marketing operations. Therefore, while the temptation to earn some extra money is often strong, and many non-work authorized spouses would like to be able to contribute financially to the household, it is not permissible in these sorts of situations.

When speaking in terms of having one's own business or being self-employed, it is not necessary to have formed a corporation or LLC or a partnership. Even if no legal business entity is created, there can be self-employment without authorization.

Where the Problems Arise

The problems with these situations usually arise at the U.S. consulates in connection with visa applications or when filing Form I-485 applications to adjust status to permanent residence. These are instances in which it is sometimes necessary to provide income tax returns. If these returns show income from unauthorized employment, the U.S. consulate could deny the nonimmigrant visa and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) could deny the Form I-485 adjustment application for working without authorization. In order to obtain a visa at the consulate, the consular officer must be convinced that the applicant will comply with the terms of the requested visa. If the officer sees a history of past violations in the form of unauthorized employment, the visa may be denied.

In order to adjust status, it is generally necessary to be in status at the time of filing. (There are exceptions under Section 245(k) for employment-based cases, when 180 days of violation can be disregarded, and under Section 245(i) for qualifying cases filed prior to April 30, 2001.) Thus, violating status by working without authorization can prevent the approval of an I-485 application to adjust status to obtain permanent residence or "green card" status.

While problems are generally detected in the tax filings, this does not mean that there is no violation as long as a paycheck is not received. Additionally, failure to declare money and pay taxes on any money earned in order to avoid detection is not a solution. The failure to pay taxes on money earned is yet another legal violation that will likely compound the problem for breaching two separate laws.

It is permissible to make financial investments that, hopefully, will generate financial gain, provided that the investments are entirely passive in nature. For example, it is permissible to invest in various savings vehicles, such as the stock market or bonds, where the only involvement in obtaining the financial gain is purely passive and not the result of working (other than planning and research). It would be possible to invest in a private company, as long as the only role of the individual is as a passive investor.
