What Can Be Done with cPanel?

If your web hosting doesn't offer shell access, cPanel will be the only way to
manage your web hosting, cPanel is a web based server control software that allows you to do the following operations and a whole lot more. Common operations such as adding FTP users,creating databases, creating mail accounts and a multitude of other
hosting operations can all be performed with cPanel.

Creating Mail Addresses

If you have the domain xyz.com and you would like to create a mail address called info@xyz.com, you can perform the following. Firstly click on the Mail tab from the front page. There you will see options to create, modify or delete mail accounts. If you to forward mail to an existing account here you can set an addres to forward to the account of your choosing. To read emails access the Webmail tab from the front page.

Managing your domains

You may want more than a single address directed towards one web site, for example if you owned xyz.com and xyz.net, this can be achieved by using the Parked Domains tab, here you can type any address that you own to point to one of your web sites. If you hosting provider allows you to have more than one web site on your account,
you can add domains via the Addon Domains tab. If you hosting provider supports the creation of sub domains you can create these via the Sub Domain tab.

FTP Options

You can create additional FTP users, set their access levels and other FTP related tasks using the FTP tab.

Database Tasks

To create a new database, or modify existing databases use the Database tab. Here you can perform all allowed database tasks, to perform more advanced database operations you will need to use phpMyAdmin, this can also be accessed from the Database tab.

Analyze The Logs

When running a web site you need to know what your visitors like, where they are coming from, which search engines are bringing the most visitors and all other data about them. Normally you will have access to the raw log files, but these are hard to analyze, to see data that is formatted about your visitors in an easy to read way go to Web/FTP Stats, here you will have the option to review your sites statistics using a variety of software such as Webalizer or AWStats.

Fantastico

Most if not all cPanel installations these days come with Fantastico which is an auto installer for many php based scripts. Fantastico can be used to install popular php scripts such as Wordpress, Mambo, phpbb and many other php products. Using Fantastico is the easiest way to setup these php based scripts and will save you having to manually upload the scripts, and more often than not Fantastico will do all
the configuration of the script for you which is a real time saver.

cPanel is a very advanced application for configuring your hosting and learning all the tricks can take some time, but hopefully you now have the basics down and you can progress from here as your experience with web hosting increases.

What Is cPanel And Why Do I Need It?

Cpanel is a back end area of sorts offered by many web hosting services. It is an amazing tool but it can be a bit overwhelming at first.

First things first, if your website has a Cpanel you can access it by going to
your website and then /cpanel.

You will then see a log-in screen and will need to put in the user-name and password that your hosting provider gave you for your website.

Once you have done this you will come to a screen with a whole lot of icons.

The Cpanel window is divided into categories. The first one to two categories are probably going to be unique to your web hosting service.

At the bottom of the screen is where all the goodies are. There's one icon that I'm going to talk about..Fantastico.

If you click here you will be brought to a large menu of software that you can install on your website free of charge. Some of the really cool ones include..

- Wordpress (very good blogging software)

- Joomla (web content manager allows you to create many different types of websites)

- Help Center Live (allows for live help chat assuming you have someone manning the computer, otherwise provides a ticket system)

- phpBB (full featured forum system)

- Coppermine Photo Gallery (allows you to upload and organize pictures into attractive galleries)

- Tikiwiki (nice wiki software)

- Moodle (allows you to create online courses)

- Web Calendar (allows you to create an online calendar)

There are many more really cool programs here, but that is a sample of some of the best. You can get all sorts of functionality out of your website from these programs, just be prepared to spend the time to learn them. Hey,you can't beat the price and trust me there are many software packages you can get that do the same type of thing but cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Does Massage Therapy Help Against Back Pain?

I originally thought that massage therapy would be a gentle, soothing massage that would lessen the ever present tightness in my shoulders and lower back. Boy was I wrong.

I made an appointment at the insistence of my boss because the neck pain I had experienced since adolescence was becoming more intense from the way I sat at my computer.

I was led into a pastel room with soft lighting and asked to strip to my underwear and lay face down on the table. My head went into a donut shaped holder and there was a place to rest my arms. The massage therapist came in and asked me some questions about the location of my pain and then went to work.

It was the most excruciating pain I had ever felt.

Deep tissue massage is used for breaking up the tightness in the muscle tissue and retraining the muscles. Although the first few sessions seemed to hurt more than they helped, I stuck with it, coming three times a week for a month. By the end of the second month I had begun to look forward to each session and noticed that I wasn't clenching my jaw as much. I also noticed that my lower back didn't hurt as much at the end of the day.

The therapist had given me several back stretching exercises to do at night and the results were amazing. I now refer all of my friends with muscle pain for massage therapy.

Massage works the soft tissue-muscles, ligaments and tendons-to stimulate circulation and improve muscle tone. It is a system of kneading and pressing on specific muscle bundles just underneath the skin, but a good massage therapist can reach deeper muscles. Massage is and ancient and simple form of therapy.

Another benefit is improved breathing and circulation. Because the lymphatic system runs parallel to the circulatory system, there is improved elimination of waste through out the body, and in order to experience the full benefits the client is taught how to breathe deeply and slowly. While the few initial visits were quite uncomfortable, the full result was entirely relaxing.

An occasional soft massage is so relaxing that many people fall asleep during the treatment.

However, if you have pain like mine a course of several treatments will result in the full benefit, such as along with increased circulation and improved breathing, a relaxed muscle is a good way to prevent sprains and torn ligaments, especially if you are an athlete. ( I am far from being an athlete, but am just as prone to injury from excess tension and structural weakness.)

For example, when the structure in my lower back is compromised due to inactivity, I am much more likely to strain my back when I lift heavy objects, even though I am aware of how to properly lift a box-with your knees, not with your back- but because my legs and lower back are weak, massage can greatly improve the position of the muscles and makes them more pliable, thus resulting in less chance of sprain or strain.

Massage is also used to relieve fatigue, which can be caused from the muscles in the body being so tight that you use extra energy to function. Because massage relaxes the muscles, the entire body doesn't have to work so hard and what was once fatigue can now be energy directed elsewhere.

One last note on the benefits of massage-the use of massage oils help lessen the friction of massage on dry skin, and are often used as an aromatherapy along with the massage process. A good, clean essential oil such as rosemary can leave the client feeling relaxed and calm, so don't hesitate to ask your therapist to use scented oil.

Every once in a while you stomp on a discovery that seems quite plainly impossible. Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to one of these rare birds.

Now that’s just stupid. Well… apparently not, as I find out that this was actually just a marketing gimmick. You don’t add water to gas, you add the hydrogen you obtain from splitting the water. Makes a bit more sense now.

The strange fact is that this technology is almost as old as the car itself. So why hasn’t the world used it until now? Conspiracies began to crystallize in my mind until I realized that the explanation was much simpler. And it really makes sense. Remember those old movies, when planes would go out of fuel and the brave pilot would use his last bottle of whisky to gain a few miles? That was basically a crude use of biofuels. It’s the same thing here. While gasoline was cheap, such alternatives were simply being discarded.

Fake Fact Number 1:

Hydrogen car kits sellers say that these burn water. This is nonsense and thus this whole movement is just a hype movement.

Answer:

Hydrogen car kits do not burn water, because yes, that’s impossible. What they do is that they use the car battery to split the water into its components hydrogen and oxygen and use the resulting HHO gas or brown gas as it is called.

Fake Fact Number 2:

Hydrogen car kits can’t be useful. They spend more energy in splitting the water than they do from actually burning the resulting stuff. It’s basic physics.

Answer:

If this is what hydrogen car kits would be actually doing, you’d be right. However the hydrogen gas is used as an additive which greatly improves the efficiency of the gasoline burning process. Basically, the mix burns faster and thus a much smaller amount of energy is dissipated as heat and converted into useful energy.

Fake Fact Number 3:

If this hydrogen thing would be really working then the car manufacturers would’ve used it a long time ago.

Answer:

This is just blatantly false. Car manufacturers are very conservative in their designs. Diesel engines for example, which are much more efficient than standard ones have been with us almost for as long as cars themselves, yet they are still in minority. We don’t want to point any fingers here, but when these manufacturers compare the benefits of an improved design with the cost of modifying their assembly lines, the cost aware argument usually wins.

Fake Fact Number 4:

The price for the components of these hydrogen car kits must be huge.

Answer:

This is again blatantly false. These systems were invented by people just like you and me who were passionate about making a difference. This means that they had low budgets and they had access only to off the shelve components. This is a grassroots movement and the cost really does reflect this.

Fake Fact Number 5:

If these hydrogen car kits really are this good, wouldn’t the government support them? There is absolutely no help from the government in this direction, which means that these things are absolutely useless.

Answer:

You have reached a painful truth. Indeed, the government is not supporting such innovations, but not because these hydrogen car kits do not deserve, but rather because there are no huge corporate interests and lobbyists behind them. The only initiative of this type that the government is supporting is the ethanol fuel, which is not particularly efficient (especially in its corn variety), but which has the benefit of producing huge profits for the agribusiness establishment.
