STARTIN' UP A POSSE

So back in 2006 we did a shirt called STARTIN’ UP A POSSE (named after one of my fav Anthrax songs). Within a day or so of the release it was apparent that it was the most popular REBEL8 tee ever. Naturally over the years we have definitely had more popular designs and it seems every season there is a new “most popular ever.”

Allow me to be the first to reintroduce STARTIN’ UP A POSSE, with a few little tweaks a la R8 Art Dept.

A little zoom should hopefully have you seeing the half-tone REBEL EIGHT background.

And yes, this is only the beginning of the REBEL8 Online Exclusives.

STARTIN’ UP A POSSE is only available at REBEL8.COM. It is limited to 88 pieces. It is selling for $32.00 which is the same price as all our other t-shirts. Enjoy.

"Wizard Camp"

This afternoon I’m headed up to Spirit Rock for a weeklong meditation retreat. My girlfriend Megan calls it Wizard Camp. I guess if there was a modern equivalent, this would be it. Retreat means a lot of sitting and walking meditation, great vegan food, a comfortable place to sleep, long walks among wild animals in the hills, and no internet, no phone, no keys, no money, no beers, and no weed. It also means my recently acquired kief stash will have to chill for a while…

It’s time to slow down, hang out with my fellow meditation practitioners, and get back in touch with Reality. See you on the flip side! Be mindful…

Since I got the new storefront, I’ve been trying to figure out what to call it. Thusfar, I’ve been calling it “Private Studio 260”, but after thinking about it more, I’ve decided to make it the new home of The Skullz Press. I had already planned to offer posters and zines again now that I have a space, so it just makes sense to bring the Press back.

So I just set up a Skullz Press blog. Check it out. I will post info about the studio’s activities on the new blog, and I’ll continue to post anything related to REBEL8 on here as usual.

Moving Along

The other day I got an e-mail from Jordan at Hufnagel Bicycles in Portland that he was almost ready to start building a custom bike for me. So I think it’s about time to let my old road bike go.

It’s a 2005 Cannondale R1000. It’s a 60cm frame. The carbon fork is super strong and straight. I got it brand new from the factory in trade for some tattoos. I put 1000s on miles on this bike while I lived in Albuquerque. It’s certainly not new anymore. Anybody wanna give me $400 for it as is? It just needs a wheelset, seat and seatpost. Check out the sweet drivetrain.

It’s in great shape, other than this ding in the toptube.

Oops! This is an awesome bike for longer rides. It’s super light. And the flat black finish is a rare treat. E-mail me if you’d like more info.

And things are moving along at my storefront. Megan and Mark were helping me get it painted on Friday afternoon.

I opted to get the spots up high.

Yesterday my man Ethan came by and installed a temporary plywood wall for displaying artwork.

This evening my buddy Francisco will be installing another temporary wall and a desk for me in the back.

I also got a nice stash of unsold framed artwork from White Walls.

So, let’s get this shit started! Come on down this Friday night, July 3rd, for the official public opening of

Private Studio 260
260 Divisadero Street near Haight
San Francisco, Califas

The opening will be open from 6-9pm. Please stop by and bring cash for insane deals on originals and posters.

Also, I’m offering a special guest list only VIP opening for friends this Thursday night, July 2nd. Please e-mail if you’d like to be added to the list. If I don’t know you personally, please come to the public opening on Friday night.

The space will also be open every Saturday from noon to 8pm starting July 4th.

There will be an opening to debut new work every first Friday of the month. And collectors should feel free to contact me anytime about private appointments to see what I have to offer as well.

Hope to see you there!
