* Oh my goodness! I think that "Weapons" is probably the scariest movie that I have seen this year! I've been looking forward to watching this movie and man, I didn't expect to be this invested in this movie!

* I've been watching this remake for awhile now and I have to say that so far, it's just as good as the original "Ranma 1/2" series! I'm really enjoying the humor in this series and I love how faithful this series is to the manga! My only problem with this series so far is that the pacing is a bit too fast and I wish that they slow down a bit with the pacing.

*So, here are some good things that happened to me recently!

* I had a lovely Thanksgiving meal with my family and it was so wonderful having so many good things to eat like turkey, collard greens, green beans, neckbones and banana pudding!

* My little sister had come to visit us for Thanksgiving and we drove her back home today. I had a wonderful time riding out today and it really helped eased up the stress that I've been having for the past few months.

So, I have always loved reading children’s books that dealt with the main character wanting to have a friend and they ended up finding a friend in the most unlikely place. Well, when I received a copy of “A Friend for Hope” by Amie White, I just knew that I found just the right book that explores the power of friendship!

Zoe Meadows is a nine-year-old girl who lives in Ivy Creek and even though she is homeschooled, she desperately wants a friend. So, when Zoe’s parents noticed how sad Zoe was, they decided to give Zoe a friend: in the form of a dog! So, Zoe and her parents ended up going to the dog shelter to find a dog for Zoe. It was then that Zoe finds an old dog, who has been at the shelter for many years. Zoe decided to take the old dog with her and named the dog Hope. Unfortunately, once they got home, the old dog had trouble connecting with Zoe, due to being too shy.

Will Zoe and Hope become good friends?

Amie White has done a great job at writing this book as the relationship between Zoe and Hope felt extremely genuine. I loved the fact that Zoe tried everything to become good friends with Hope and how she also tries to respect Hope’s hesitation at getting close towards Zoe, due to being alone for so many years; something that Zoe herself had experienced. Olena Oprich’s artwork was extremely beautiful to look at, as all of the characters look so adorable! I especially loved how Zoe’s hair was drawn in this book as Zoe’s hair was extremely beautiful to look at and I especially loved how adorable Hope looked as it made me really want to cuddle Hope.

Overall, “A Friend for Hope” is a truly cute book about the importance of friendship that anyone who loves reading books about friendship will definitely enjoy! I would recommend this book to children ages four and up, since there is nothing objectionable in this book.

* So, I've been watching lots of Aardman Animation's earlier shorts that came out of the 1980s and the 1990s and I have to admit, that most of them were pretty...DISTURBING. So, this short called "Pop" was a very interesting short and yet, it's a pretty CREEPY short. You guys will definitely see a full review of this short on this blog soon!

* "Loves Me, Loves Me Not" is another BIZARRE AND CREEPY short from Aardman Animations and it's one that I actually ended up really enjoying! I'm surprised that this short got as dark as it did and yet, the animation in this short was simply beautiful!

* It's been awhile since I last seen a "Predator" movie. So, when I heard about the latest Predator movie "Predator: Killer of Killers," I just had to check out this movie and man, was this one of the best movies I've seen all year! I just loved the animation in this movie and I loved the anthology set up of this film!

This week's top 10 Tuesday topic is Top 10 Books I Didn't Finish.

So, there's actually a lot of books that I either lost interest in reading or I wasn't able to finish yet, because life kept getting in the way of me reading any of my books and I just couldn't finish the books.

So, here are my top 10 Books I Didn't Finish (in no particular order of course)!

1. Curioddity by Paul Jenkins

Will Morgan is a creature of habit―a low-budget insurance detective who walks to and from work with the flow of one-way traffic, and for whom imagination is a thing of the distant past. When a job opportunity enters the frame in the form of the mysterious Mr. Dinsdale―curator of the ever so slightly less-than-impressive Curioddity Museum―Will reluctantly accepts the task of finding a missing box of levity (the opposite of gravity). What he soon learns, however, is that there is another world out there―a world of magic we can only see by learning to un-look at things―and in this world there are people who want to close the Curioddity museum down. With the help of his eccentric new girlfriend Lucy, Will will do everything he can to deliver on his promise to help Mr. Dinsdale keep the Curioddity Museum in business.

Curioddity is Paul Jenkins’ debut novel... exciting, fast-paced, and uncanny. A must-read.

So, this was the first book that I received as an ARC, and I tried to read this book when I first got it. But I just started to lose interest in this book, and I just never picked this book back up years later. Hopefully, I'll get back into this book and see if this book is actually worth reading in recent years.

2. Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park

Flat-Out Love is a warm and witty novel of family love and dysfunction, deep heartache and raw vulnerability, with a bit of mystery and one whopping, knock-you-to-your-knees romance.

It's not what you know—or when you see—that matters. It's about a journey.

Something is seriously off in the Watkins home. And Julie Seagle, college freshman, small-town Ohio transplant, and the newest resident of this Boston house, is determined to get to the bottom of it. When Julie's off-campus housing falls through, her mother's old college roommate, Erin Watkins, invites her to move in. The parents, Erin and Roger, are welcoming, but emotionally distant and academically driven to eccentric extremes. The middle child, Matt, is an MIT tech geek with a sweet side... and the social skills of a spool of USB cable. The youngest, Celeste, is a frighteningly bright but freakishly fastidious 13-year-old who hauls around a life-sized cardboard cutout of her oldest brother almost everywhere she goes.

And there's that oldest brother, Finn: funny, gorgeous, smart, sensitive, almost emotionally available. Geographically? Definitely unavailable. That's because Finn is traveling the world and surfacing only for random Facebook chats, e-mails, and status updates. Before long, through late-night exchanges of disembodied text, he begins to stir something tender and silly and maybe even a little bit sexy in Julie's suddenly lonesome soul.

To Julie, the emotionally scrambled members of the Watkins family add up to something that ... well... doesn't quite add up. Not until she forces a buried secret to the surface, eliciting a dramatic confrontation that threatens to tear the fragile Watkins family apart, does she get her answer.

Flat-Out Love comes complete with emails, Facebook status updates, and instant messages.

This was another book that I've tried to read years ago. But I lost interest in this book, and I don't know if I'll ever pick up this book again in the near future.

3. Joyland by Stephen King

College student Devin Jones took the summer job at Joyland hoping to forget the girl who broke his heart. But he wound up facing something far more terrible: the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and dark truths about life - and what comes after - that would change his world forever.

A riveting story about love and loss, about growing up and growing old - and about those who don't get to do either because death comes for them before their time. It is at once a mystery, a horror story, and a bittersweet coming-of-age novel, one that will leave even the most hard-boiled reader profoundly moved.

Normally, I enjoy reading any book written by Stephen King, with Carrie and Pet Sementary being among my favorite books from Stephen King. But with this book, I just couldn't finish it, and I do eventually want to get back to reading this book again and see if I would actually enjoy it nowadays.

4. A Wicked Magic by Sasha Laurens

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina meets The Craft when modern witches must save teens stolen by an ancient demon in this YA fantasy-thriller debut.

Dan and Liss are witches. The Black Book granted them that power. Harnessing that power feels good, especially when everything in their lives makes them feel powerless.

During a spell gone wrong, Liss's boyfriend is snatched away by an evil entity and presumed dead. Dan and Liss's friendship dies that night, too. How can they practice magic after the darkness that they conjured?

Set in the atmospheric wilds of California's northern coast, Sasha Laurens's thrilling debut novel is about the complications of friendship, how to take back power, and how to embrace the darkness that lives within us all.

This was another book that I had received from the publisher to read, but once I started reading it, I started to lose interest in this book and it might be awhile before I go back and read this book again.

5. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.

And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

As Jude becomes more deeply embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, she discovers her own capacity for trickery and bloodshed. But as betrayal threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

Now with this book, I was actually loving this book and I've been trying to get back to reading this book again. But life got in the way, and I never had the time to finish this book. Hopefully, I get to finish this book soon, since I really want to see what happens next!

6. Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab

Kate Harker isn't afraid of monsters. She hunts them. And she's good at it.

August Flynn once yearned to be human. But no longer. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.

The war has begun.

The monsters are winning.

Kate will have to return to Verity. August will have to let her back in. And a new monster is waiting -- one that feeds on chaos and brings out its victims' inner demons.

Which will be harder to conquer: the monsters they face, or the monsters within?

Like "The Cruel Prince," this was another book that I was enjoying, and I've read the first book "This Savage Song" and I really enjoyed it. But again, life had gotten in the way, and I wasn't able to finish this book. Hopefully, I can find some time to read this book again, because I want to see what happens with both Kate and August in the sequel!

7. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons

I had tried reading this book a few years ago, but I started to lose interest in this book at the time. Maybe I should try reading this book again to see if I like it this time around.

8. A Summer to Remember by Mary Balogh

I've tried to read this book years ago, but I just wasn't interested in the characters at the time. I guess it's because I tried to read this book first before I knew that this book was a sequel to another book in the series. Maybe if I read the first book in the Bedwyn Saga series, I might have a better reception towards this book.

9. Once Bitten, Twice Shy by Jennifer Rardin

I'm Jaz Parks. My boss is Vayl, born in Romania in 1744. Died there too, at the hand of his vampire wife, Liliana. But that's ancient history. For the moment Vayl works for the C.I.A. doing what he does best -- assassination. And I help. You could say I'm an Assistant Assassin. But then I'd have to kick your ass.

Our current assignment seemed easy. Get close to a Miami plastic surgeon named Assan, a charmer with ties to terrorism that run deeper than a buried body. Find out what he's meeting with that can help him and his comrades bring America to her knees. And then close his beady little eyes forever. Why is it that nothing's ever as easy as it seems?

I had tried to read this book years ago, but I just forgot about this book, and I didn't bother finishing this book. Maybe I'll give this book another chance someday.

This was a book that I completely forgot about, which is sad because I've read the previous Hathaway books, and I loved all of them! I actually forgot that I owned this book, and I wasn't able to finish this book! Better finish this book soon!

EMERGENCY FUNDING FOR A NEW LAPTOP!

Hey everyone! So, I really need some help. I've been trying to get a new laptop for a while now and recently, my current laptop had crashed, and I had to get it fixed. For years now, I've been struggling in trying to find employment and I'm still trying to find a job. Because of this, I don't have enough funding to get a new laptop. I wanted to get a new laptop because my current laptop can't support the bigger games that I want to stream, and I want to be able to download specific programs that would help improve my content on both YouTube and on my blogs.

So, I had created a new goal on my Ko-Fi account that would help me get a new laptop and I have planned some special rewards for anyone who helped supported my laptop goal. So, every time we get new tips to the goal, I will make a mini comic for each tip! The overall goal is $2,000, but if we reach $200, then I will draw a special Thank You Doodle for everyone who supported the goal! And as the progression of the goal goes on, I will be doing something special for each milestone! Details about the rewards for each milestone will be revealed through each mini comic I put out. Hey everyone! Long time no see...it's been awhile since I last posted on this blog. I think the last post I did was way back in January. I know that I haven't really been posting on here as often as I should have, but I've been really busy with both YouTube and Twitch lately, that I barely have the time to post here. I just loved the fact that "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" was very faithful to the games and I especially loved the emotional moments in this movie, especially with Shadow the Hedgehog! So, I have been really enjoying the “Bluebell” series by P.J. Reed so far and I got another book in the series called “Bluebell and the Wavering Islands” and I must say that this book is probably the most adventurous book in the entire series!

The book starts off with Bluebell and her friends going to the mysterious Wavering Islands, which is ruled by Lord Grendel, who is the ruler of the Sea Imps. It turns out that Lord Grendel asked Blubell and her friends for a wish: to save his magical Pegasus, Samara, from an illness called spottydottyitus. So, Bluebell and her friends have to find a way to cure Samara or else, they will be thrown into the dungeon forever, as well as the Wavering Islands losing all of their magic and causing Mandrake Castle to fall from the sky!

Can Bluebell and her friends cure Samara in time before it is too late?

Wow! I was quite amazed by this book! I have been enjoying the “Bluebell” series so far and this book was definitely much more action packed and intense than the previous two books I read! P.J. Reed did a great job at writing this book as there were many intense moments throughout this book, especially when Lord Grendel threatened to lock Bluebell and her friends in the dungeon if they do not find the cure for Samara. I also loved the fact that Bluebell and her friends travelled to many different places in this book as it was nice seeing more of the world that Bluebell and her friends live in, as well as the magical items that Bluebell and her friends have to find to cure Samara.

Overall, “Bluebell and the Wavering Islands” is a great book that features lots of adventurous moments and anyone who is a huge fan of books about fairies, will definitely enjoy this book! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing objectionable in this book, unless Lord Grendel’s threats about sending Bluebell and her friends to the dungeon forever might scare younger children.

Hey everyone! So, you are probably wondering about where I have been for the last few weeks. Well, my laptop broke down and I wasn't able to get online for several weeks because of it. Right now, I'm using my dad's computer at the moment until my laptop gets fixed. But I think it's time to get a new laptop. Unfortunately, I don't have the funding to do so and I'm trying to find ways to get some more funding to get a brand-new laptop. Does anyone have any advice on how to get more funding for a new laptop?

* I finally checked out this movie and man, was this movie even better than I thought it was! I actually wasn't going to watch this movie at first, because it's about war and I don't like war movies. But, this film was quite different from other war movies and it's probably one of my favorite films of the year!

* I rarely watch films directed by M. Night Shyamalan and this movie just so happened to be on my radar. Man, I really enjoyed this movie! It's really different from Shyamalan's other movies as it's not a horror movie and it doesn't really have a plot twist. But, this movie was pretty enjoyable to watch!

So, after I read the first book in the “Bluebell” book series, I just had to read more books from this series and lo and behold, I was given a copy of the sequel to the first “Bluebell” book, “Bluebell and the Silver Palace” and man, was it even more exciting than the first book!

The story starts off with Bluebell, the newly appointed Wish Fairy, buying some honey from the bumblebees that make the honey, in order to make some delicious honey cakes. But unfortunately, Bluebell ends up being arrested by Queen Caraway and it turns out that the Queen’s honey has been stolen. So, Queen Caraway wishes for Bluebell to find out who stole her honey.

Can Bluebell solve this mystery?

So, after reading the first book in this series, I was dying to read more adventures from Bluebell the Wish Fairy and man, this sequel does not disappoint me! P.J. Reed did a fantastic job at writing this story as the tone of this story shifts to a mystery genre, rather than be a straight up adventure genre like in the first book. I really loved this change in genre for the second book because I always loved reading mystery books and this book does a great job at setting up the mystery of who stolen the honey from the Queen and how Bluebell and her friends try to solve the case. I also loved the relationship that Bluebell has with both Tobin the Gnome and newcomer, Billy the bee as they both provided some interesting dynamics with Bluebell. Tobin is as usual, usually stern with Bluebell, while Billy is much more playful towards Bluebell. Emma Gribble’s artwork is great to look at as they are simplistic yet beautiful and they greatly complement the cute and mysterious tone of this book.

Overall, “Bluebell and the Silver Palace” is a fantastic sequel to the first “Bluebell” book and if you love reading about mysteries and delicious food, then this book is definitely worth checking out! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing really inappropriate in this book.

So, I have been reading many fantasy children’s books over the years and I have read many children’s books that feature fairies in the stories. However, I have never read a book quite like this one! “Bluebell: The Wish Fairy” is a children’s book that is written by P.J. Reed, along with illustrations by Emma Gribble and it was quite a lovely book to read through!

The story starts off with a fairy named Bluebell who becomes the new wish fairy and she is trying not to mess up on the first day of her new job. For her first mission, Bluebell will have to travel to the human world to grant wishes of little boys and girls. But unfortunately, since Bluebell has a tendency to be clumsy, many citizens in Therwen Wood do not believe that she has what it takes to become the wish fairy.

So, I was quite surprised to be checking out this book since this is the first time that I have heard about this series. So, I read the first book in the series and I really enjoyed it! P.J. Reed did a fantastic job at writing this story as I found myself loving Bluebell as a character. Bluebell is such a relatable character, even though she is a fairy, because she tends to make a lot of mistakes, but always pulls through in the end, just like how so many people in real life tend to do. I also loved how the situation about the fairies trying to grant children’s wishes is being seen as a job for the fairies, which makes how everything in this world function much more interesting. Emma Gribble’s illustrations are truly beautiful to look at as the world and the characters look realistic yet beautiful at the same time. I especially loved the artwork for when Bluebell accidentally made a mistake by bringing in a dragon to a little boy and you can see the dragon blowing its flames towards the little boy, since it is something that I would have never expected to see in a children’s book about fairies.

Overall, “Bluebell: The Wish Fairy” is truly a fun and cute book that anyone who is a fan of fairies should definitely check out! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is not much frightening content in this book.

Hello everyone! Welcome to my ☀Daily Book Chat☀ where I do some SERIOUS discussions that fellow book fans will get a kick out of and relate their thoughts about the subject to other book fans!

Today's discussion question is TOP 10 CHILDREN'S BOOKS THAT HAVE CREEPY ILLUSTRATIONS!

So, it's October and that means that it's time to talk about some spooky books for this month! So, for this month, I wanted to talk about children's books that have some SERIOUSLY creepy artwork! So, I've been reading children's books like FOREVER and I've stumbled across a lot of children's books that have creepy artwork! So, whether these books are horror themed or just your regular run of the mill children's book, the artwork in these books are sure to give you the WILLIES!

Here are the top 10 Children's Books with Creepy Illustrations (in no particular order, of course)!

I really loved this interpretation of the classic Brothers Grimm tale as the artwork is what really stood out to me. The artwork is so creepy to look at, especially whenever they show exaggerated features of the characters in creepy ways.

2. SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK SERIES BY ALVIN SCHWARTZ; ARTWORK BY STEPHEN GAMMELL

This series has always been something that I love to read every October and man, the original artwork by Stephen Gammell were some of the creepiest artwork that I've seen in any children's book! So creepy in fact that it caused the series to get banned and then, they redesigned the artwork to make it less scary (which is the worst thing you can ever do to a series as beloved as this one!)

3. THE GASHLYCRUMB TINIES BY EDWARD GOREY

This is probably the first book I've read by Edward Gorey and man, did it make an impact on me! The fact that this book is all about the many different ways that the kids in this story die and the really creepy artwork that accompanies this really made this worth reading!

4. A BAD CASE OF STRIPES BY DAVID SHANNON

I read this book years ago and even though it was a really fun read, I was quite surprised by how disturbing the artwork can get, especially with Camilla's transformations throughout the book.

5. RUNAWAY OPPOSITES BY RICHARD WILBUR; ARTWORK BY HENRIK DRESCHER

This is another one of my favorite children's books as the poems are wacky and I especially loved Henrik Drescher's chaotic artwork. Although, there are some genuinely creepy imagery in this book.

6. THE SPIDER AND THE FLY BY TONY DITERLIZZI

This was a really interesting and creepy book to read through. I think that the creepy artwork really fit so well with the surprisingly scary story.

7. CINDERELLA SKELETON BY ROBERT D. SAN SOUCI; ARTWORK BY DAVID CATROW

I never thought that there would be a horror version of "Cinderella" and man, this was a really good book to read! Also, the creepy artwork by David Catrow really made this story pretty creepy to read through!

8. THE FOOL AND THE FLYING SHIP BY ERIC METAXAS; ARTWORK BY HENRIK DRESCHER

I absolutely loved this book! It's one of the funniest children's books I have ever read and I really loved the artwork by Henrik Drescher in this book! Although, the artwork can be pretty creepy at times.

9. THE STINKY CHEESE MAN AND OTHER FAIRLY STUPID TALES BY JON SCIESZKA; ARTWORK BY LANE SMITH

I absolutely love this book! It's such hilarious book to read, especially if you love reading parodies of your favorite fairy tales! Even though I love the artwork here, there are some genuinely creepy imagery in this book.

10. BABETTE COLE'S ILLUSTRATIONS

There are various books written by Babette Cole that have creepy imagery and since I couldn't pick a specific book, I decided to post up various images from Babette Cole's books that are creepy!

So, that's my top 10 children's books with creepy illustrations. I never would have thought that there would be so many children's books with creepy imagery and I can't wait to check out more children's books with creepy imagery!
