With the advent of daylight savings time and racing season almost here your blood should be flowing a little better if not I have only one question are you alive ?

Every fall I complain about two things the end of racing in western Pa and not enough daylight but guess what both are coming again, this reminds me that as we wait for Easter it has the same story line only it is Jesus that is coming back.

The difference in Jesus return and daylight savings and racing season is we know when the last two will happen but not Jesus return the Bible tells us no man knows the hour of his return so my question to you is are you ready regardless when it happens.

The question from most people is how can I know and the answer is very simple you simply ask Jesus to come into your life and have a personal relationship with him ,this sounds so easy in this complicated world, but it is easy if you read the gospel of John chapter 3 and read the entire chapter it will change your life like it did mine but only if you mean it and let it.

Don’t wait until Easter or even one minute longer do it now and I can assure you your life will never be the same then Easter will have the real meaning it is supposed to.

Trusting Jesus

Bill

This is a big word and many times it has flowed out of my mouth with little or no substance I wonder if anyone else has this problem,or is just unique to my life.

I came across this statment and thought I would sare it with you,(Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.) my version is when you come to the end of your rope tie a knot and hang on.

The last four months have been a series of hanging on and tying knots some how when we are put in a stressful situation this seems to come naturally.

Judy has been put in a very difficult position and none of it is her fault she has and continues to be a strong lady in this time ,will you close your eyes and imagine having your normal life altered to the extent of being bed fast and enduring inordinate pain, not a plesant thought, and you only have to imagine ,she is living it.

I will be the first to tell you it has been a great adjustment for me and I dont have the pain but so far Jesus has blessed me with Commitment and will continue as long as I keep my part of the deal, that is where you come into the picture if you see my commitment level going down in any way get me back on track.

Judy and I look forward to the time when we will be through this ordeal and then encourage others to hang in for as long as it takes, if life is worth living it is worth the commitment we have to make.

Easter is fast approaching and it reminds me of that word again Jesus was commited to his calling too the cross for our salvation I cant speak for you but only for myself I am very very thankful for his commitment for me ,how about you, think about it and let me know.

The time of Easter is viewed in many ways depending on who you are and what it really means to you, when I was a little boy it had a very different meaning than now, then it meant choclate candy hard boiled eggs and time off from school, the sad thing is for some we have never gone beyond this mind set.

Over many years Easter has taken on a new meaning for me ,I still enjoy the candy and eggs but they have little to do with the actual celebration, the real meaning for me is the resurection of Jesus and the promise of new life and pardon of sin in my life, how about you.

In this information age and the avalibility of information we should all be informed of the real meaning of Easter if you have questions let me encourage you to do some serious searching for truth,I will tell you it will change your life forever.

If you think I am off base please tell me I will love and respect you even more.

Trusting Jesus for you,

If you are reading this site for the first time or at least the first time in a long time I will try to bring you upto speed.

This saga started on OCT. 20th 2009 and is not finished yet,our prayers are it will be coming to an end soon,Judy has had 4 surgeries and suffered from a severe infection in her spine this has been a time of much pain for her and also much prayer.

We have seen the hand of GOD in this and even though it has been very stressful for everyone GOD is still good all the time ,we are not done with this chapter of our life yet and will learn much more because of the experience ,as unplesant as it has been we can still praise him for who he is.

Judy and I are looking forward to a new year when we can go togrther and share the goodness of Jesus in any place he may take us, we are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ,as Judy gains strength and is restored to full health it will serve to give us a platform of credibility and give others hope for their future.

You may be in a difficult situation ,health issues, money problems, relationships going bad,the list is endless but so is the Love of God for those in need,if you will yeild your life to him he will walk you through every path you walk.

You may feel like you are perishing but remember John 3:16 GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD (YOU AND ME) THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON JESUS THAT YOU WOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVELASTING LIFE.

You can count on JESUS ,ask him into your life today.

In Christ

The month of February has a lot of memories for me, among them the first Daytona race in 1959 and I was there, and also our wedding day on February 16, 1957. Both are great dates, but only one is history making, and it is not Daytona. You can guess the most important one.

I have wanted to return to Daytona many times, but not as much as I want Judy to return home. That day will make Daytona a passing thought, and seeing her in this house again will far overshadow the 500.

Don’t get me wrong, I really love racing and so does Judy. If I ever go back to Daytona, it will be with her. Then it will really be special.

Richard Petty is in a time of great struggle with his wife battling a brain tumor. I would be willing to bet that if he could, he would trade all of his Daytona trips for her to be healthy. But God is not a game show and we don’t make deals. When I read about Patty Petty, I wept for Richard because I know what he is going through.

Time like these are when we really come to grips with our humanness, and most times we don’t like it. But like Richard, I will spend many hours on my spiritual knees thanking God for His love for us, and the promise that He will never leave or forsake us.

Richard, you are the King of NASCAR, and I pray your Queen gets well. I will pray for you at the same time I pray for Judy.

Happy anniversary Honey! I love you, and wait for our trip to Daytona. We will be the big winners!

I love you Judy, forever…

Bill

I was privileged to attend the Mercer banquet again this year and hope to continue for a long time to come.

I sat with Wally Stearns his wife Ed Haylett and family Rudy Tropples the Gabany crew to name a few and what a pleasure, then as the night went on I became more excited as the real racing family began to be honored.

Wally’s victory flag was a joy I only wish everyone could have shared the human compassion that was given so he could be blessed and the joy Ed Hazlett and family shared then Rudy ,and Eric dollars and cents apart but so close as the racing family,God at work!

When I arrived I first ran into Putsy and his family I thought it strange for a while and then when he was honored for all he had done for sprint car racing and to see his sons an grand son so proud of him and his ever present wife just fill me with so much memory over load I just sat and shed great tears ,the honor given to the KEKICH RACING HISTORY AND FUTURE has been overlooked much to long.

Putsy and I go back to the days of the old Pulaski Speedway and our exploits of crawling under the fence to see races my Dad was the security there and when kids would sneak in he amazingly never saw them .the same was not true for adults that could pay Chester Thompson either never knew or really didn’t care, either way we were on the way to a life long love affair with racing,Thanks Dad &Chester.

You may ask who could have been racing at that conveted half mile cornfield ,Steve Unger,Ron Crash,Emil Smolnik,Don Dahl,John HolfelderTony Banick,Ted Wise, just to mention a few that formed our love for grassroots racing.

To Putsy and family I send my love and support to you Putsy I could not be more proud and when your sons and grandson hugged me and said they would pray for me I got the same rush as when we would make that stand up move after we cleared the fence at Pulaski in the 1950s my best to you and your entire family ,they will keep the passion of local racing in perspective.

My last kudos is to Vicki Emig and the way she honors the men and women-that have and continue to allow us to enjoy this most exciting sport ,and the people that help make it all possible Frank Benic you are an Icon of the racing community and most don’t even know your history in the sport soon I hope to share with them who you really are.

With respect for my peers,

In Christ Bill Beck

The title has been quoted many times and we have all agreed we could and would deal with this and do just what it says, however when the proverbial rubber meets the road it may be a different story.

The past 20 or more years I have spent many days or nights in hospital’s with worried families waiting to see a loved one after surgery or some other tauma in I.C.U. my advice was always the same don’t be alarmed it is just what needs to be done.

Over the last 3 months I have gained new respect for those worried family members after having to deal with all those emotions with Judy I will never again be the big strong guy with the best advice not that it was or is wrong only that I had never experienced that initial shock of seeing the one you love that way.

They tell me experience is the best teacher in this case I would have chosen to stay ignorant but when God is in charge we must obey and at times it is very painful.

When I took my first look at the one I love the tears and emotion came in floods and nothing could be said to make it stop the one thing I desired most at that time was someone to cry with me and share my pain not be the strong person that has never know pain and wonder of whats next.

I thought I had a lot of compassion now I know the need for compassion more than ever ,and it did not come from a book or class rather from on the job training.

I would suggest you read 1 Cor 4-16-18 and pray for a teaching from that passage it is well worth the effort if you don’t have a Bible handy it is available on this site .

I am better equipped to minister to hurting people because of our experience and will speak less listen and love more ,judge less all the time learning to be like Jesus.

Trusting Jesus

This is a story that thrills me ,as I was walking down the hall today I noticed a lady with a T shirt on from Quaker Stake & Lube ,I ask if she rode a bike her answer not now ,her husband has cancer and had to sell his bike.

About 6:00 o’clock as I walked past a room there she sat with her husband Frank I spoke and was invited in after some small talk about Bikes I ask if they would like to pray they were very open I then ask if they were saved she was Frank not so.

Before we pray I said would you like to become friends with the one you pray to (Jesus) he said he would and so we held hands and shared the sinners prayer then we prayed for the operation ,he has cancer of the tongue and tomorrow will have a major portion removed and then would not be able to say the prayer ,God is so good and right on time .

His wife told me she had been praying for him for 20 years and was backslidden herself,he rejoiced and cried she did also as did I,a little later I heard her in the hall telling a nurse what had happened and weeping and praising Jesus .

Frank and her were walking the hall sharing Gods love and then came into Judy”s room and prayed with her, when they left we rejoiced at Gods goodness and mercy.

Frank will always be saved and now has the promise of eternal life not bad for an x biker trash which only proves JESUS loves in spite of who or what we are if we will only invite him to be our savior.

Trusting Jesus for Judy”s total healing!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was not able to attend the Mercer race yesterday, and it was the first opening race I have missed since Vicki took ownership. To say I missed it is an under statement, to say the least. Many of you know that my wife Judy has been in the hospital since October and has just been transferred to Pittsburgh.

We are believing God for restoration of her health so that we both can serve our racing family. She has become very weak and needs to gain strength to undergo any surgery.

I want to congratulate Wally Stearn on his win in the Mini Stock feature. Wally is an example of the true OLD SCHOOL RACER. Wally, I cant wait to shake your hand and thank you face to face for being my friend and keeping the spirit of local racing where it needs to be.

I will try to write more as soon as I have time and access to my computer. Until then, pray for Judy and we will pray for you. We love you and will continue to be available.

Serving you in the strength of Jesus
