This coming Sunday April 1st will be the final pre season prayer blessing for the folks that live in the Butler/Pittsburg region it will be held at Saxonburg Presbyterian church,time 4:00 until 7:oo with refreshments at 5:30 . I really want to thank Lernerville and also Tim Thoma for their help and support in the presentation of this event it indicates to me their recognition of the need for Jesus at the race track as well as all areas of life.

Each time I am involved in an event like this it is a total walk of faith I never know who or how many will show up only that those that do will be treated with the love off Christ ,the racing community is a very important part of my life and as a result I am blessed,and want to share that blessing with others.

Just as we share when we go to the track for the races come and prepare for the 2012 season with your friends this coming Sunday and if you want to bless me it will be easy just show up and prepare for a seaon of excitment and fellowship it is free Jesus has already paid the price.

Second Pre Season Prayer Service for Racers and Families

We just completed our first preseason service, and it was a great time for all that were there. Having said that, we now look forward to the next service. On the 18th of March we will meet at The Coitsville Presbyterian Church, 91 Coitsville-Hubbard Road (Route 616), Coitsville Township, Youngstown, OH.

The service will begin at 10:30am and conclude with prayer for all those desiring it, after which we will be treated to lunch supplied by the members of the church. Music will be provided by the group SKY PILOT. I am sure they will be a great blessing to everyone.

I encourage any and all involved in motor sports to attend. This includes Karts, Bikes and Race cars. It makes no difference where you race, you are welcome to attend. I would also like very much to have the promoters and owners in attendance so we will be able to pray for their needs.

The second of Feb. I posted the desire to have a prayer time for the 2012 race season and now it is a reality thanks to Pastor Bill and Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church in New Castle Pa.. They will be hosting a Sunday morning service for all area racers and interested in Motor Sports it will begin @ 10:30 AM and their will be a free lunch afterwards for everyone please pass the word and attend yourself we will pray over those that wish to be prayed for as a group.

First plans for some regional pre season Racers prayer time.

Plans for having prayer for interested drivers,crews and families are coming together nicely but not complete,I am going to try to do them by area of drivers.Preliminary plans will be for the New Castle area, the next will cover the guys and ladies from the eastern Ohio area and am working on one for the Butler area . The plan is to do these in host churches from the local area there is already two committed one from NewCastle and one from the Youngstown Hubbard region as well as a possibility of one from the Butler area.

These will probably be on a Sunday morning with the blessing of the host church with some other perks it is in no way being done to promote the church or anyone other than the need for Gods blessing and protection for the new race season.My reason is simple we all need some spiritual help in this sport as well as life itself final plans should be ready by next week and you will be informed.

If you have any ideas for more please contact me I am not perfect and only do what I can and not always the way expected but am willing to stay focused on what I do and try to do better each time.

I am asking for some input on my plans and involvement for the 2012 western Pa.eastern Ohio area my question is how many would like to have me put together a day of blessing for the racers? I would imagine many of you if not all of you are looking forward to 2012 season in the same way I am,even though we have the highest expectations we cannot be sure all will be as we want it.

There is only one way to live a victorious life and that is to put our trust in Jesus Christ he alone will not let you down ,money ,fame ,high place in society will not assure you of a good year only faith in Jesus can and will give you and I a great year.

Prepare as though you can make a difference but always trust God for the best results he is a faithful Father, if you dont think so just try him and see for yourself.

This year just as in years past I will trust him for everything ,wont you give him a chance today.

Prayer needs needed for many in the racing Family

I am asking all my prayer partners to pray for Helen Bauman and Linda Fennell to continue to heal them in their time of need ,I just got a call from Mike Lutz about his father inlaw he was in a semi rollover and has some broken bones and is being sent to Saint Es in Youngstown for more evaluation.

This makes me even more aware of the need to have a para ministry for our racing family if any one wants to know more or has any ideas I am open to talk with you.

Vision for 2012 season in part.

The 2011 season is coming to a close and that means plans for 2012 need to be put in place,it is difficult to make plans without a vision.

Every endeavor whether large or small must have a vision so it can be viable in some way my vision for 2012 is very simple help people come to faith in Jesus now comes the way to accomplish this task.Racetrack ministry is a wonderful place to be just as being a race car driver is rewarding but must have a plan in order to win. When referring to all involved we must work together in Gods plan to be winners so first I would like to have some committed prayer warriors to support the Ministry second I am in need of finiancial support so I can continue and expand this outreach to the race family these are the two most important needs right now,if you want to help I would love to hear from you.

Do you know your purpose in life?

I will attempt to answer that question in my own life,at the age of 74 one would say either you should know or it really doesn’t matter.The answer for me is yes and it may change more than once not the purpose but more the manner in which it is carried out.

My purpose is to share the message of salvation through our savior Jesus and may change on a moments notice that seems simple enough and it really is.

Sharing the message of Jesus is a lot like motor sports racing we have a goal of winning and in order to do this we need to keep trying and never give up. There has been many times I have thought of getting out of the race but then the Holy Spirit wont allow me to quit ,I have watched many racers do this for years and then one day they win.

This year I had the honor of watching my friend Ed Haylett win his first feature after tryin for 23 years ,how long will you try to accomplish your purpose? Ask Ed if all his days of trying was worth it and you will hear resounding yes.

This simple example is why I keep on keeping on even though I seem to fail over and over again my purpose is to win souls ,what is yours if you don’t know ask me how you do this and I will be glad to help.

The past week has been a very tough week on the racing community we lost Jeff Schrum at the young age of 47 Jeffs career was short but made a big story for sprint car racing we will miss him and his skills both as a driver and builder. Grandad Wheeler finished his race of life this week he had a much longer career in racing but in that time gave western Pa. many drivers to keep his love of racing alive for a long time,both of these men were giants in their time and we would all profit by studying them .

We will miss you both but also be able to learn from lives well lived. I will have more on both of these special men and their gifts to the racing family.
