I recently found all of my college weavings stuffed into a backpack, a bag I forgot to unpack after moving earlier this year. I’ve woven so much since graduating in 2011, and I’m happy to say that this college portfolio contains pretty much all of my own textiles that I still own. That is to say, much of what I have made has gone on to new homes, a fact that makes me feel very warm and fuzzy inside.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to visit me at Holiday Heap and Art Market. I have to say, the past two weeks has shown me more love and support for my work and appreciation for textiles than I had felt in a long time. It was a good reminder of why I make, and the importance that textiles have for us all.

If you’re looking for more textile related goodness in Baltimore over the next few months, I highly suggest you check out the Lenore Tawney and Sandra Brownlee exhibitions currently on display at MICA. I look forward to spending a lot more time with each of these shows, so maybe I’ll see you there!

Which I’m pretty sure is just going to reiterate the constant rant I have going through my head.

With the tents in the background it really looks like A Fiber Circus is at the Circus!

We were right under a tree and for a few minutes it looks like we might walk away with some acorn concussions, but luckily they stopped falling.

Bryan helped me make this shelf that I painted with my favorite aqua and red, plus some handy chalk board paint to give me another surface for pricing. Upping my game with my display while staying in budget is always a struggle, but definitely think I’m getting there!

Now that I’m back home, and nice and warm, I think I’ll spend the day finally geting somewhere with my spinning wheel, and maybe writing a few pages on ye olde typewritter. I never participate in National Novel Writing Month, but its existence always reminds me that I still have quite a few stories in me.

This is a very busy time for me; I don’t have the easiest time balancing work, crafting, weaving for business, and weaving for pleasure (plus, you know, all the rest), but I’m slowly (sloooowwwly) finding my rhythm.
