Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I bought a new computer and it took over 24 hours to transfer the data from my old computer to my new computer. I didn't realize how long it would take and I should have posted before transferring my data between the two computer.

I'm still having problems with outlook (data did not transfer correctly) and will wait until Monday to contact my computer guy so that he can look at the problem. If you send me an e-mail, I may not get it, so if you send me and e-mail and it's important, please resend on Tuesday or so. Or better yet, call me at(479) 876-7453.

This card was made using My Digital Studio and one of the latest downloads called She's All That Stamp Brush Set. We carried it as a stamp set but it retired a couple of years ago and I'm glad it's back! The images are fun, feminine silhouettes to celebrate life’s big moments. The image was printed on Whisper White Card Stock and then die cut using a non SU die. I used this die because it sort of fit the silhouette. I layered it with Real Red Card Stock and then cut 1/8 inch around the die cut free hand.

The pattern paper is called Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper. I can't believe I am finally using it after having it for the whole year and now it is retiring! I love my paper and tend to hoard it. The Real Red 5/8" Satin Ribbon is also retiring on 31 May 2012. If you like either one, order them before it's too late. Sneak Peek - Oval Accents

Hi Stampin' Friends

Today's card showcases one of the new dies in the 2012/2013 Catalog called Bigz Clear Oval Accent Die. It coordinates with the new Forever with You Stamp Set (page 132 of the new catalog).

Like the framelits dies, it's clear so you can see where you are placing the die on the card stock. For the background, I used the Everyday Enchante DSP from the Sale-a-bration Catalog with Poppy Parade Card Stock as the base card. I love the Everyday Enchante DSP and so sorry it didn't make it into the big catalog like the Twitterpate DSP did (which I don't like!). Though I think anything in the SAB catalog does not normally make it into the big catalog.

The rose is a retired Very Vanilla Accessory which was dyed using Poppy Parade Classic Reinker. The Organdy ribbon is Calypso Coral also from the SAB catalog.

Someone asked me recently how I dyed my ribbons. I just mix reinkers and water in a small container and soak the ribbon until it's the color I want. This morning I tried to color (with Poppy Parade) the rose, a small flower made from very vanilla satin ribbon and a small flower made from the Victoria Crochet Trim. Below are the results:

Petite Purse Trio

I made 3 purses from the Petite Purse Bigz Die in less than one hour. I was feeling bad because the 1st one took me so long to make and I wanted to show you how really easy and quick it is to make these adorable purses.

I decide to use the retiring designer series paper and card stock.

In this case, the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper is retiring but not the Wisteria Wonder Card Stock.

The Concord Crush Card Stock and Cheerful Treats Designer Series Paper are both retiring on 31 May 2012.

The Blushing Bride Card Stock and Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack are both retiring though if and when Stampin' Up! refreshes their color collection, I hope that Blushing Bride makes it back (I hope!!!).

Summer Afternoon - Petite Purse

Hi Stampin' Friends

It's a beautiful weekend in Northwest Arkansas. I hope you are having pleasant weather. It's been such a nice spring this year.

Well, I finally finished the petite purse - not that it was that hard to make but I had to redo it a couple of times because I kept making dumb mistakes. The ladies will be making the purse at Jane's private class on Monday and at the Big Shot Class on Friday, 25 May 2012. If you live in the Northwest Arkansas area (Bella Vista) and would like to attend, there's still time to register. Details here....

The finished product is so cute and I used the new Comfort Cafe DSP (love it!) to cover the front of the purse. I learned a few things in making this purse and wanted to let you know so that you don't make the same mistakes I did!

Tips:

My score (fold) lines were too deep and I had to add scotch tape to the fold lines so that the purse would not come apart. Add it to the inside of the purse and it will not show.
You need to make the slit larger if you are adding another layer (such as DSP) for the flap (front part that has the small flower on it. You'll see the slit in the video below (provided by Stampin' Up!).
If your pattern on the DSP has a direction to it, you need to make sure that you lay the DSP in the same direction as the purse. I had to redo the purse when I discovered that the pattern was slightly askew. (see photo below for placement of DSP)

I thought I would add the video from Stampin' Up! on how easy it is to make the Petite Purse. It really is!

Sneak Peek - Summer Afternoon

I was a bad girl and gone for most of the day so I didn't get a chance to finish up the petite purse 3D project. I do have a card to show you that the ladies will be making at the Big Shot Class on Friday, 25 May 2012. I again used the Comfort Cafe DSP (love, love it!!!) and the Hostess Stamp Set called Summer Afternoon.

Sneak Peek - Layered Labels and Comfort Cafe DSP

Hi Stampin' Friends

I am so excited to be able to show you some gorgeous new designer series paper called Comfort Cafe. It is absolutely beautiful and reminds me of my grandmother!

I am also working on 3D project (Petite Purse Bigz L Die) that goes with the card, but I didn't finish it in time for today's post. I'll have it ready for tomorrow's post.

The sentiment is layered with Crazy Cajun Card Stock and Soft Suede Card Stock.

I used the Apothecary Accents Die (you are going to love these new dies!). They coordinate with the Layered Labels Stamp Set.

All the layered are the same size. I cut the Crazy Cajun and Soft Suede card stock label in half and the layered them so that it showed on the top and bottom (does that make sense?).

I colored the Daffodil Delight Taffeta ribbon with the Cajun Craze Reinker. The crochet trim is our Victoria 5/8 Crochet Trim that's been cut in half (up the middle) for a shabby chic look.

The rose is non-SU and part of my hidden treasures that I rediscovered during my move! They are so cute that I don't want to get rid of them and will continue to use them even though they are not SU!

Celebrating my birthday one day early with my BFF Jane which why I didn't get my 3d project completed!
