Radiação seria um meio de condução/propagação de energia na forma de ondas ou partículas. Existem vários tipos de radiação com a qual lhe damos todo dia, por exemplo as radiações cósmicas vindas do espaço, a radiação em forma de micro-ondas de calor usadas um aparelhos de cozinha, radiação solar, etc.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"&gt;Essas partículas ou ondas podem ser divididas pela maneira com a qual interagem com a matéria, podendo ser agrupadas em dois grandes grupos: radiações ionizantes e radiações não ionizantes, ou seja, interagem com a matéria arrancando prótons ou elétrons a tornando ionizadas, ou interagem com a matéria excitando-as, respectivamente. Além do que as ionizantes interagem com a matéria de uma forma "geral", pois são muito "carregadas" de energia e ionizam "tudo que vier pela frente". Quando estável após trazer os elétrons para sua órbita tende a transformar-se em um átomo de hélio. Porém, sua interação depende de sua &amp;nbsp;velocidade, que é proporcional a distância, assim em pequenas distâncias ela não interagem, quando aumentamos sua distância ela interage arrancando o primeiro elétron e depois vai decaindo sua força de atração até arrancar o segundo elétron, tornando-se assim estável.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"&gt;As partículas beta interagem com o núcleo ou com os elétrons, sendo divididas em beta positiva e beta negativa. As betas positivas são a anti-matéria do elétrons, que se atraem mutuamente e se aniquilam, liberando energia e deixando uma molécula (a que perdeu o elétron) ionizada. Elas possuem "características" de um fóton, assim se o fóton for absorvido totalmente pelo elétron, saindo consequentemente de órbita, tornando a molécula ionizada, chamamos o efeito de efeito fotoelétrico. Como elas podem atuar provocando câncer e até mesmo ser usadas no tratamento do câncer com radioterapia?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"&gt;Essas moléculas ionizadas ganham um alto poder de reação com outras moléculas, o que na célula não é interessante pois irá desestabilizar estruturas importântes para a manutenção da ordem e da vida celular.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"&gt;Moléculas de água e oxigênio, por exemplo, são encontradas em grande número dentro de estruturas celulares, e são facilmente ionizáveis. Essas moléculas irão receber a energia da radiação e se tornar ionizadas, caracterizando o estágio físico. Ionizadas irão interagir com outas moléculas dentro da célula, provocando instabilidade, que é o chamado estágio químico. E por fim está instabilidade pode acabar prococando um dano a célula, que já é o determinado estágio biológico, podendo causar alterações mesmo no material genético. Esses estágios são parte do efeito indireto da radiação, no qual moléculas que sofreram seu efeito causam dano &amp;nbsp;na célula. &lt;div&gt;Um ponto importante a destacar é que células que sofrem maior número reproduções acabam por expor mais continuamente seu material genético aos efeitos da radiação. Uma é a não expressão de genes que inibem os fatores que induzem a proliferação celular, desta forma, a célula não têm o "sinal" para parar a proliferação.&amp;nbsp;Outra é a super expressão desses genes que sinalizão a proliferação.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"&gt;E a principal que ocorre em todos tipos de câncer e a inibição de genes que causam a apoptose. A apoptose é um processo em que a célula, quando apresenta muitos "defeitos" em sua maquinaria, sofre uma morte programada, onde não há o extravasamento do citoplasma para o tecido e os restos celulares podem ser digeridos por outras células. Quando uma célula apresenta um problema, como no caso do câncer de super expressão ou inibição de genes necessários para a ordem celular, ela iria entrar em processo apoptótico.
