SONOMA, CA – RIS -  Shane van Gisbergen, the heavy pre-race favorite, has won the pole for Sunday’s  NASCAR Cup race at Sonoma Raceway, the 1.99-mile, 12-turn road course north of San Francisco.  Van Glisbergen covered the road course in just over 74 seconds and slightly over 96 mph.

Zilisch Scores Third Xfinity Road Course Win of 2025

(SONOMA, CA – JULY 12, 2025 – RIS) Eighteen-year-old rising star racer earned his fourth win of 2025 in NASCAR Xfinity races, three of them on road courses, holding off challenges from his teammate in the JR Motorsports stable to score the California wine country road course win. The win is the tenth of the 2025 season for JR Motorsports, the team ownered by Dale Earnhardt Junior. Last week’s pole and race sweep Shane Van Gisbergen finished second to the teammate who is half his age. The only full-course cautions in the race came at the end of the two stages, eclipsing the previous race record speed by nearly five mph. Today’s race ran in 1:56:12 for an average speed of 81.176 mph, beating the two-year-old record set by Aric Almirola at 76.388 mph.

(CHICAGO – JUNE 5, 2025 – RIS) Shane Van Gisbergen and his JR Motorsports teammate Connor Zilisch finished one-two in the NASCAR Xfinity Series The Loop 110 race on the streets of Chicago. Van Gisbergen started from the pole and led the first half of the race, plus the final two laps. Zilisch led 11 laps with Jesse Love and Sheldon Creed each leading a handful of laps. ‘SVG’ is on the pole for Sunday’s Cup race on the street course and won the inaugural race on the urban track.

He went about securing his first victory of the season and a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. He passed Brad Keselowski on the final lap to take the lead.
