Ok, now that my tweet on twitter, and post to the wall on facebook, I now find it necessary to hire someone to run all the social media contacts, help me stay updated with "When God Says Nothing", pastor the church, be the husband and father I need to be and try to do it all...only problem is...so much need, so little resources. Not that I am complaining...I know more about people than I ever did...if you can trust what they post...and I have a better idea what I can do to link it all....or at least some of it. So...hopefully it will not take me a year plus to post on this blog again. Btw...ck out the one of the most requested messages I have ever preached....He trains my hands to win....If you are in a slump...it is the "unslump" message.

End of Days - Armageddon

Everyday, we hear the word "armageddon" bandied with some other word. "Financial Armageddon", "Nuclear Armageddon", "Economic Armegeddon"...it seems that word is used and overused in so many ways. The Biblical word is not simply a meltdown in the economy, or a battle gone bad. It is the end of all battles, a world war to end all world wars. It will be the end of the GREAT TRIBULATION and will herald in the Glorious Reign of Jesus Christ. What about this war though? What are the elements of the battle...or war that should be known? Do we want to be here when the battle commences or when it ends? What are the stages of the war itself? Thanks Scott for pointing this out, the music on the podcast..about 13 minutes into the podcast, should not be there. It is actually from a message trailer we produced to promote the Bible Study (it is in video form) and somehow, made it's way into the podcast later into the podcast. How it happened escapes me....as I was the one who made the podcast so the fingers all point back to me... cool music, just not meant to be there.

What is happening

It has been a LONNNNGGG time since I last posted, and a lot has happened. I went full time (by faith) a few weeks ago, just returned from Honduras and am looking forward to the fall @ Radiant Life Church. God has been soooooo faithful, and we seeing transformation in lives every single day. We are preparing for two trips next year. One to Honduras (Construction and small medical) and one to Ecuador (medical only). While these will consume vast amounts of energy in our cosmos, we are preparing to do outreach at every level. Add to that, our relentless search for more permanent facilities and you have the makings for our summer. We will announce details this weekend about the Honduras trip and will hopefully have a great video of clips from my trip last week to show too. We will be working with Jason and Sarah Furrow...two great missionaries that have as much of a heart for thier work as anyone I have ever come to know. It will be a great priviledge to partner with them for the building...and we will be working again with Phil and Deanna Barber in Ecuador. What great missionaries they are too. Hey, why don't you say "yes" to God and go with us to one of these places. It promises to be a great experience and you will never be the same.

Go Figure

We all hear statistics and numbers thrown around and usually don't think anything about them. We quote them without truly understanding the full implications or background, or sometimes even the means from which the stats are compiled. That hit me really hard a few minutes ago. I have heard for years that 50% of all marriages end in divorce. Kind of sobering...troubling and disheartening. Some even use that to enbolden a desire to "get rid of the wife or husband" and find someone new. They will say things like, "well you know, 50% of marriages end in divorce".

That is not necessarily true. According to Focus on the Family, "that figure is derived, not from long-term analysis, but from the fact that the raw number of new divorces each year is roughly 50 percent of the raw number of new marriages. These numbers are distorted by the fact that people with successful marriages usually marry only once, while people with failed marriages have often married and divorced multiple times.

Fortunately, new data from pollster George Barna included a more meaningful statistic. Of all Americans who have ever married, only one-third have ever been divorced. This two-to-one ratio of marital success should encourage young people who may actually fear the "50-50" marriage myth.

Another misconception is that a person's religion and values have nothing to do with marital success. Barna found that the percentage of people who have been divorced after marrying is lower among Catholics, evangelicals and conservatives than it is among non-Christians and liberals. That's not to mention the fact that more born-again Christians (84%) have been married in the first place than atheists and agnostics (65%).

For those just embarking on the adventure of marriage, be encouraged — your chances of making it "until death do you part" may be better than you've been told.

Easter and Bad RAM

Sorry it has been a while since I last posted. Incredible past few weeks...incredible busy time. This past Sunday, we celebrated our second Easter service. God has been sending so many people in...and this past weekend was great. We had a snow, sleet, freezing rain mess for our Easter Egg outreach. I kept thinking (at 5 a.m.,6 a.m., 7 a.m....on and on) that we should cancel. Snowing like crazy...so no one will come to an easter egg hunt. What to do with 5,000+ eggs???? Anyway, we had 138 come out...it blew me away.

Then, Easter Sunday, we celebrated resurrection with 141 at our Radiant Life Resurrection Celebration. A record attendance with most of our visitors from the area, no church background. Praise God for those who came out. Several rededications.

Bad RAM...Not able to do anything from home until we figure out if we have bad RAM. Not the animal but the memory in the computer. The computer kept rebooting, without anyone touching the computer...bad RAM or demon possession. I cast those demons out with sledge hammers....probably bad RAM...but I've got my sledge hammer ready.

Oh, we will post the CHASE THE LION series as a podcast once we cast out the demon...hopefully by the end of the weekend. Bad RAM, but a great Lord!!!!!

It's time to make a move

It's amazing the difference one degree makes...one degree on an airplane can take you hundreds of miles off course, if you input the wrong coordinates. The same is true about our walk with God. One degree off, and after a while, we are way off course. On today's podcast, I am sharing from a message @ Radiant Life Church. It is on making a move. Sometimes the moves God wants us to make are not huge...they are small...but even a small course correction can make all the difference in the world.

The past seven weeks have been a whirl and we thank you for your continued prayers for us and for your understanding. We have had so many that have let us know that they were praying for us and we believe God has sustained us so wonderfully. When dad we last posted, Miracles Believed, Miracles Received, was the last post...and Miracles are what we have experienced. God has provided us peace in the storm, and joy in the journey. One week after our last post, John's dad passed away. It was so unexpected and took the wind out of us. After the funeral, we arrived back for a very hectic schedule. Things are not less busy now, but we believe we are getting a better handle on it all. Beginning next week, we will be sharing challenges with our internet congregation. The challenge starts today for you who read the blog. It is the challenge to read God's Word through in One Year. The challenge is on the right of this blog and you can join us reading God's Word through in one year. It will change your life...and will become a habit...if it is not already a habit...that will bless you the rest of your life. Simply click on today's date, and it will pull up a seperate window that have that date's scripture verse to read. Do it every day for one year and you will have read God's Word from Genesis to Revelations! Consider yourself challenged.

Miracles Believed- Miracles Received

Wow, what a great first weekend of the new series, Miracles Believed - Miracles Received. It was amazing as we heard of miracles that happened the past week. One person shared, "we had over $100,000 in medical bills and did not have the insurance or the money to pay it off." They had set up a payment plan, but it was going to take over 30 years to pay off the bills. This past week, the hospital wrote the family and said, "You no longer owe $133,000 on your medical bills. The hospital's charitble trust has paid the bill...completely."

Another shared, "Due to a recent accident, I was unable to work. I had broke ribs i a horse riding accident and my employer would not let me return to work." She went in to work, thinking they would allow her to work doing lighter duty tasks and they said, "Come back in a couple of weeks". She was discouraged, but it did open the door for her to go to parent-teacher conferences at her children's school. While there, the teacher of one of her children said, "your son sings really well, where did he learn to sing so well." Darlene said, "My husband and I sing, and I have given our children singing lessons." The teachers screamed in delight..."we have been looking for a voice teacher....are you interested?" The next day the school district hired her to do voice lessons at twice the pay and half the hours from her previous employer.

Winning Each Battle

Sometimes spiritual warfare takes a toll on us. We fight, and it looks like we have lost. Sometimes, it may look like a win, when in reality it is really a loss. What is the best criteria to determine a loss or a win? We just finished uploading the podcast: Operation Enduring Victory: winning the war within. It is the message I talked about last week. The message really resonated with people. It is about the battlefield between your ears. The battlefield that can be THE determiner if we are to see true spiritual victory or not.
