The Art Gallery of Ontario's transformation is almost complete, and insiders promise it will be impressive. Linda Milrod, who is both Senior Manager Program & Design and Installation Director for the AGO spoke to Radio Out and Out about what people can expect when the gallery re-opens on November 14, '08. She also provides unique insight into why Frank Gehry was chosen as architect and details of his long-time relationship with Toronto. Out and Out club members are invited to join Wade Allen on Sunday November 16 at 2:00pm. Simply check the club's Nov/Dec newsletter for details.

Great programming, fall colours and a chance to get "out-of-town" for the weekend make this annual Out and Out Club event one of the more popular of the season. It features a host of indoor and outdoor activities - with all events run by the attendees. So if you're coming to Mansfield or thinking about it, have a listen to Joel Rotstein who, along with Frank Chester have been running the Mansfield weekend for the last 14 years. This year's event runs from October 31 to November 2, '08.

The Out and Out Club wants its members to have a blast at this year's Pride festivities. And if three very resourceful volunteers have anything to do with it, the Out and Out club is sure to make a splash. Radio Out and Out met with the team that's spearheading the club's participation at this year's celebrations. This podcast isn't just a sneak peak at Pride festivities - it's a "how-to" for all club members and a chance to be part of the action.

Billed as one of the best ways to kick off your summer vacation, the annual one-day Boston to Provincetown bicycle ride has been attracting a lot of people over the years, including a number of Out and Out members. Radio Out and Out met with Cheryl and Hollie who both took part in last year's event and plan on doing so again on June 21 ("08). So choose your seat - bicycle or lawn chair - because there's info on what the ride entails and also on how you can participate as a volunteer. www.outandout.on.ca

The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre is the last operating double-decker theatre in the world. It's also a link to Toronto's rich theatrical past. The Elgin is opulent and sophisticated, but it's the Winter Garden, seven stories above that steals the show.
Trying to create an audio podcast about this event proved quite an enjoyable challenge. The race involved dozens of people in teams of two or three, criss-crossing the city by foot and by transit, all trying to outdo each other both in terms of speed and mental agility. Along the way, some people lost their bearings, their wallet, a team member, or worse - their moral compass. It all proved highly entertaining. So if you’re about to listen to this podcast, just do what we did: lace up your runners, and go along for the ride. Continue reading →
