In this episode Russell Lacy made an appearance on the Rubber Room. Russell is the talented front man of Grease Trigger. He played some live cuts from his solo album as well as some acoustic renditions of a few Grease Trigger tunes. Russell can write songs till the cows come home and Shaun was smitten. You will also learn that the one thing better than attending Berklee College of Music would be just moving near by and hanging out around campus.

This episode also includes a new edition of “Alejandro’s Fine World of Art” and some great advice from Shaun about how to avoid a robbery.

In this Episode, Apache Radio raided the Rubber Room. Newly formed, these guys have gotten down to business and quickly made some noise in the Richmond music scene. This group has tons of energy.

Shaun was MIA for the first hour do to an illness. He managed to make it out for the second half though. It was a good thing he did. He had some hard hitting questions for the guys like, “who invented music?” and “why do people like music?” Finally…answers to these eternal questions. Enjoy.

In Episode 54 The People’s Blues of Richmond rocked the Rubber Room. These guys epitomize rock and roll; what it has always been and what it always will be. Their music is strait a head, pure expression. There was also an un-expected guest to the show. The infamous yet unknown rocker, Radly Rockwell stopped by unannounced. Apparently he’s a pretty big deal. Or so he says. If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “rock n’ roll is dead” this episode is proof that it’s not. It lives and breathes in Richmond VA.

In episode 52, Nathan aka DigiPossum joined the guys on the Rubber Room. Mr. Possum, like many musicians this day in age is a Renaissance man. As well as creating his own music, electronic influenced instrumental hip hop and dubstep, he also works as a light and sound tech. This episode is packed full of some killer RVA electronic music, including several tracks off of the recently released Richmond Electronic Collective, Vol. 1. Simon’s mom release her new product, D.O.M.E., that she is currently pushing. She also split her show picks with a call in from Sarah of Sounds of RVA. Radio Rubber Room EP 49, Marionette

Based on the fact that know has heard from her since the show, we think she may have stowed herself away in Marionettes trailer so she can tag a long on there next road trip. Don’t be worried though. It’s not her first rodeo. She always has at least two flasks, a couple months supply of granola and a grapefruit on her at all times for situations such as this. In episode 46 we had the pleasure of goofing off with the DJ Williams Projekt. These guys have a lot going on and have been a cornerstone of the music scene in Richmond over the last eight years. The DJ Williams Projekt is an epicenter of a musical web that spreads out all over the place. It was funny to learn that the whole band will be playing camp barefoot with other projects but not as the Projekt. Insanity. We were very happy that the guys drew some spontaneous inspiration from a member of our show. Everyone loves Simon’s Mom but these guys really did and wrote and played a song dedicated to her on the spot. She is an inspiring lady.
