Insert into Head in a Few Simple Steps

Whether you’re adding our fabulous webapp to your website or just want to dump in some Google Analytics code into the head, I’ll show you how to do it in 3 simple steps. This guide is for HTML and WordPress websites. If you have another type of site looking to insert code into the head please comment below and I’ll add it to the guide.

First Get Some Code For Your Head!

Below is the head code that is used for our webapp. If you’re installing our webapp we’ll email you your custom code. Do not use the one below! For anyone else simple highlight your head code and copy it.

Inserting Head Code Into A HTML Site

Open up your HTML file (index.html, about.html, ect..) in a web editor or in notepad.
Copy the head code we provide you with or use any head code you’re trying to add to your page.
Paste the code between these tags (A bunch of code will be here) . It’s at the top of your page. The is right before the tag.
Save and upload your file. That’s it!

Inserting Head Code Into A WordPress Site

Download and install this plugin, Custom Headers and Footers.
Under your Settings menu in WP go to Custom Headers and Footers.
Simply copy and paste the code into the Meta Headers box and click Save Settings. It’s that easy!

Top 5 Sites to Promote Your Giveaway

There are TONS of sites online where you can promote your giveaway or contest. I wanted to break down the top 5 sites we use when promoting new giveaways. Over the last year we’ve used tons of different sites but always see the most traffic from these 5 sites. Hosting a giveaway on your site is a great way to build traffic and fans but it’s not a “if you post it, they will come” type of deal. You must actively go out there and promote your giveaway. You might find a lot of fans who subscribe to your site for just the giveaway and that’s fine because you’ll get a bunch of fans that will stick around (if your content/product is useful). Enough with all this lets get to the list!

Top 5 to Promote Your Giveaway

Online-Sweepstakes.com – This is probably my favorite. We get a TON of traffic from them and it’s super simple to submit a giveaway. They will almost always post your giveaway the same day you submit it. A great tip is to post your giveaway early in the morning. That way then your giveaway will be at the top of the list. Always thinking here at RaffleDog. (no back links but registration is required)
Contest-Corner.com – Another great site that will post your giveaway in the same day. Contest-Corner is probably the easiest site to submit a giveaway. It can be done in under 1 minute. They also have a Sweepstakes Saturday you’ll get some nice traffic from. Post on the Saturday page early! (no back link or registration is required)
ContestGirl.com – Our third site is Contest Girl. For certain giveaways we have seen an enormous amount of traffic from them. I usually like to submit my giveaways to them the night before. It’s another easy site to submit to and should only take a minute. (no back link or registration is required)
Prizey.net – Prizey is a great site that we consistently see strong traffic from when posting our promotions with them. You’ll want to post this about 24-48 hours prior to your giveaway. You can spice up your giveaway and add a picture when submitting the form. (no back link but registration is required)
SweepsAdvantage.com – Our last site on the best giveaway list ever is SweepsAdvantage. They do require a back link but they have a ton of fans and you’ll get some really great traffic sent your way. You can even include a back link on your homepage and you’ll be listed in their email blast. (back link and registration required)

All of these sites are great and don’t get scared of having to register with them for promoting your giveaways. They will not spam you and are 100% legit. A popular question we get is, How many promotions should I do each year? I definitely recommend doing at least a few per year. One every season is a nice way to host them. They can even be hosted for your email subscribers and fans only. This is a great way to say Thank You to your list (trust me this will go very far!). If need any help please contact us.

Make your Twitter page POP by Changing Twitter Background Image

It’s easy to spice up your twitter small business page with a custom background image. When I first created my twitter page I didn’t change my background image. Then through exploring tons of twitter pages I saw how cool other pages looked and wanted RaffleDog to have a custom image. I’m savvy in web design but I promise it is super simple to change your twitter background image. I am going to show you how to change it in a few simple steps.

Steps to Changing Your Twitter Background Image

First you must get an image or create one. The image size should be around 1500 X 1300 pixels. You can find some cool twitter backgrounds here http://www.twitbacks.com/.
Next sign into Twitter and select the Settings menu.
Scroll down and click Change background design.
Click the Browse button and select the image.
After you select the image hit Save Changes.

And that’s it! See how simple it is. Changing your twitter background is an easy way to make your business twitter page look more professional. Even the most simple image will make your twitter page look different from the default images.
