Former U.S. Navy SEAL, Finn Emerson had been aware of Meara Greymere for as long as he’d been serving and working alongside her brother Hunter and that was also how long he knew that Meara was UNAVAILABLE to members of Hunter’s SEAL team. Plus Meara really seemed to have issues with his job and what it entailed, namely danger. With Hunter on his honeymoon in Hawaii, it falls to Finn to keep an eye on Meara when an assassin may be watching her as a means to get to Hunter. Should be a piece of cake, except Meara is on the hunt for a mate, and while Finn is definitely not a candidate, he is NOT thrilled with the idea of Meara sniffing around a bunch of unattached alphas.

Seriously, it’s like Terry Spear spied on my dreams of the perfect male when she put Finn on paper. A big, green eyed, blonde, alpha wolf shifter of a SEAL, if he’d been in a kilt they would have had to sedate me. She could have written nothing but Finn’s description on three hundred and fifty pages and I would have still loved it, but that’s not what she did. She crafted a wonderfully entertaining, thrilling, sexy action packed story with even more sexy SEALS. (umm, drool much?)

Even though this is book 9 in the series, Terry Spear makes this an easy stand alone read (although if you think you'll be able to read just the one, ha you're kidding yourself). This world of the Lupus Garou is imminently addictive and the characters are so diverse and interesting that is impossible to not be drawn in. Each story, though very loosely tied to the rest, is unique and brings it's own set of gasps and twists assuring that the reader never feels like they want to put down the book. For those who were waiting for more of the Greymere pack, rest easy. Meara does them more than proud.... she is an alpha and sister to the pack leader after all. She has no qualms about making her wants, thoughts, feelings and desires known in no uncertain terms. She lets Finn know, fast and in a hurry, that she doesn't consider him mate material anymore than he does her. Yay! You go girl! That's right, there's no unrequited pining from this lady wolf. A fact that rubs Finn's ego a time or two, I loved it. This book is just one more sterling example of Terry Spear's mastery of her craft and I congratulate her once again delivering an excellent book.

On the day set aside for all things sexy and romantic, I thought what better way to celebrate than getting cozy with the world’s sexiest vampire. Of course I am speaking of Kaden Gaspard from one of my very favorite all time series Misfits of the Lore by the lovely and talented J.E. Hopkins.

Just in case you are new to the blog, you should know that since reading Lover’s Betrayal in early 2011, I have become absolutely RABID about this phenomenal series. If you are a regular follower then you all ready know that I use every opportunity to rave about these wonderful books. So I am positively giddy right now. Please give a warm welcome to Kaden Gaspard.

Kaden, thank you so much for agreeing to share some insights about your book We Shall Rise. Can you give us a brief overview?

As usual I’ve pretty much made a mess of things. This is my journey of trying to become a better person so that I can be worthy of Reysa’s love. Of course, I don’t make things easy and I nearly screw it all up, but fortunately those who love me manage to save me from myself. It’s not all my fault though. Hell, it’s hard trying to figure all this stuff out when we’re in the midst of an immortal race war that is threatening the lives of all those we love. It’s too much to deal with. I think I need a shot of Jose Cuervo.

(I think about giving him a hug instead of a shot, but Reysa is one BADASS chick, so I’m being very professional….. damn.)

So here are some fun questions for you. How are things going with your mother Olivia?

Oh, now I definitely need a shot. It’s complicated as always, but I adore her. I would give my life to keep her safe. She has always been the one constant blessing in my life and without her, I probably wouldn’t be here talking with you. I just wish I could undo the past pain she endured. It’s still hard facing her sometimes knowing how much she has suffered because of me. I can’t undo the past, but I can at least make sure that her future is filled with all the happiness she deserves.

Are you mending fences with Lucian?

Stepdaddy? For my mother’s sake, I will tolerate the arrogant vamp. Well, to be honest, he’s not actually all that bad. Once you get past his supersized ego and his designer clothes obsession, he really is kind of bearable. The most important thing is that he truly loves my Mom and he makes her happy. For that alone, I owe him everything. Don’t tell him I said this though. He might start thinking I like him or something.

What first pulled you to Reysa?

She’s like no other woman I’ve ever encountered. She refuses to take my crap. She will literally beat the crap out of me when I start to get a little out of hand. I love that about her. She’s remarkably strong and loyal. I sometimes just sit back and watch her, in awe as she handles all the chaos around her with extraordinary patience and understanding. Of course, I can’t ignore the obvious…Reysa is hot. She is beyond gorgeous, inside and out. There are no words that could adequately describe her unparalleled beauty. She is like the most divine gift the gods ever created.

How are you handling the constant presence of Reysa’s extended family? Especially Christian?

Can I get that drink now? I use to hate the mangy mutt. I’ll never be a fan of his, but I’ve learned to accept his presence in our lives. I still hate the way he clings to Reysa like a dog in heat. Well, if he ever touches her, I will personally have him neutered. However, I do respect his loyalty to her and I know if I weren’t around, he would sacrifice his life in a heartbeat to keep her safe. For that I ma grateful, but I wouldn’t mind if he bought his own house, preferably in another country.

The rest of Reysa’s family is not so bad. They’ve accepted me, some begrudgingly, but at least they don’t look at me like they want to kill me every day. That’s improvement.

Fortunately, I now I have the best stepdaughter ever. Tatiana is my heart. I would give anything just to see that little girl smile. Yes, she has managed to manipulate me just like all the others. I could never refuse her anything.

Has there been a change in the situation with your brother Julian?

I wish, but I am not giving up hope. I know I’ve screwed up and it will take a long time to fix things, but I am determined to make it happen. I want my brother in my life as my best friend, not my foe. I’ve caused this wall to be erected between us and I will use all my strength to tear it down for good.

What are the chances of talking Ms. Hopkins into putting your Aunt Corrine and Diamonde in an adventure together? That would be pure GOLD. Just imaging the possibilities is enough to crack me up.

I would love to see those crazy broads with some adventure far away from me. I will personally ask Ms. Hopkins to make that happen. It could be like Thelma and Louise/Louis.

*snort* I would sooo be the first one to buy that book. Well Kaden, I loooooved talking with you but I know how busy you are nowadays. But please come back again, maybe with a friend or two. And give the girls a hug for me.

They were warriors whose job it was to protect the remaining citizens inside the castle from the creatures who bore the curse of the Gremdon. Once their family, friends and neighbors, the creatures were now flesh eating monsters with razor sharp fangs, long deadly claws, orange eyes and any scratch or bite would transfer the curse. As warriors, Arianna and Tardon lived under the strict laws of the Elders. Marriage was not permitted and female warriors had to remain chaste under penalty of death. The males were given “gifts” to appease their baser appetites. As love often does, it springs up in this very sterile and cold environment and causes deadly problems for our wayward pair. In order to avoid a painful, tortuous death, Arianna and Tardon must attempt a suicide mission outside the castle walls and deny the love they feel for each other forever.

Whew, that was a real page turner of a book, and I had serious doubts about how Ms. Knight was going to pull off an acceptable ending. She not only pulled it off but she did so with a twist that I NEVER saw coming. The story and characters are very dark with an underling thread of utter hopelessness. Disease and starvation are rampant and the reader must struggle with the issue of individual freedoms versus the good of society as a whole. Very deep stuff here. The strict authoritarian society squashes individualism and free thought, so our duo's romance has an incredibly rocky road. Arianna is willing to sacrifice anything for the well-being of her younger brother including her love for Tardon. Tardon is willing to sacrifice everything for Arianna, so you can see the problems that are bound to crop up. Meanwhile, diabolical plots are being hatched that are meant to ensure neither survives very long.

This is an epic story that will having you gasping, crying, cheering and smiling. This is not a book you can skim through, it is very detailed and things change very rapidly. Don't think for a second that you've got it figured out because I can promised you that you don't. It's almost like Lost, Lord of the Rings and Desperate Housewives thrown in a blender with just a pinch of Xena for taste. It made for a very satisfying read that I give a firmly stated "Kudos, job well done".

Relic: The Brethren,#2 by Deena Remiel

As a Savior member of the Brethren, Raphael’s sole purpose was to heal and after the last great battle between Good and Evil, Raphael’s powers were minimal at best. Feeling less than worthless, he is on a quest to find Serena Sikes and inform her of the demise of her youngest brother. Raphael is about to have a whole new set of problems thrust onto his shoulders in addition to his waning powers. Not only is Serena a dead ringer for Raphael’s late wife (whose memory was wiped from his mind) but she is also being chased by hired killers whose boss has mistaken her for the Goddess Sirona. Saving Serena and perhaps himself will take everything Raphael has and a little help from the Brethren.

Well Deena certainly had her "big girl panties" on while writing Relic. As much as I loved Trinity, I felt this book much more viscerally. It had a grittier tone, which I just ate up. While still retaining Deena's optimism, the main characters in Relic were just a tad meaner and darker. Especially Serena (yay!!), my girl could flatten some balls and not break a sweat. Raphael was unknowingly suffering the death of his first wife and had become an emotionless being who existed in a very grey world. When Serena, who has brought light back into his life is threatened, he is ruthless in his protection of her. Nothing is sexier than a pissed off, protective angel. This book is just a little deeper I felt because it dealt with several issues and not just one set of villains. I absolutely loved the complexity of Serena's character and how she deals with her quickly changing life.

Raphael isn't aware of how truly damaged he is, nor are any of his fellow Brethren. I thought this gave a really unique twist to the story that played out beautifully. I absolutely devoured this book in record time. This romance had a very sensual feel and was at times bordering on animalistic (grrrrrr) which added just the perfect amount of zing to an already lovely story. The balance of elements in this book is truly a work of art. Heartbreak, hope, insidious villains and self discovery all play off each other in a wonderfully entertaining story that keeps the readers attention from start to finish. I am already anticipating the next book and have my fingers crossed on who will be the star of this one. This is definitely a "must read" series from a truly gifted author. Big kudos for yet another job well done.

In case it hasn’t escaped anyone’s notice, I have been unexpectedly missing for the last few days. Unfortunately fate has taken it upon herself to make 2012 a test year for the Blue Shedevil and decided to empty her entire bag of tricks on my head. Fate’s latest little laughfest included a burst appendix and a quick trip to the hospital. Ha, I say! (or maybe the Percocet says )

I will be jumping back in with both feet. ( maybe a toe or two at first), and trying my best to catch up on everything that got missed. My apologies to both readers, followers, authors et all.

She rolled over onto her back and stared above at the open-beamed ceiling of her log cabin in the North Carolina mountains outside of Hickoryville. She studied the accumulation of dust bunnies along the beams.

The setting sun cast shadows across the room as she gazed out the two-story floor-to-ceiling windows on one wall. The view of the tranquil scenic mountains in it’s resplendent fall glory replaced some of the angst she felt about her work. She relaxed and stretched her arms above her head. Her stomach growled, reminding her she hadn’t eaten any lunch today.

She stood trying to stretch her still-aching muscles by turning side to side at the waist, touching her toes --- or attempting to, anyway.

Then maybe she could get a few more hours of work done before bedtime.
After putting down fresh water and food for Godiva she opened the fridge, hoping to find something for dinner. She knew what she would find but she looked anyway. It was empty except for a couple of eggs, and an older-than-she-knew container of yogurt she couldn’t trust anymore.

She glimpsed down at Godiva, who had already finished her dinner. “I think I’ll run down to The Barn and get something to eat. You can hold down the fort here for awhile, right?” she asked Godiva, who sauntered away licking her lips.

She walked the short distance from the kitchen to the corner of the large open room to her desk, which held her state-of-the-art computer system with three screens and a laptop. She sat down to start turning everything off when the phone on her desk rang.

“Conover Investigations, Lisa speaking.”

“Hi, is Sam Brower there?”

“Sorry, but I haven’t heard from Sam in years. How did you get my number?”

“This is the last number I had for him. I really need to talk to him ASAP.”

“Maybe I can help you. What’s the problem?”

“No, I need to talk to Sam.”

“I’m sorry I can’t help you. Give me your name and a number where he can reach you, and if I hear from him I’ll let him know you’re trying to get in touch with him, okay?”

“My name’s Luke and he can reach me at …” Then the phone line went dead. He had hung up.

What is it about men? They never say good-bye.

I enjoyed The Jaguar Legacy immensely. There were a couple of spots that were slow for me but overall I really enjoyed the book.

Charley is an investigative journalist whose career has gone down the drain all because she was diagnosed with “panic attacks” and almost causes herself and a colleague to die in a car crash because of one. Charley’s mother is a full blown alcoholic and the only way she feels as if she can help her is by boosting her career in order to send her mother off to rehab. When Charley stumbles upon the rumors of the Olmecs that Kincaid is researching and the city he has discovered, she knows that if she could get the full scoop on the Olmecs and Kincaid’s lost city, it would restore her reputation and skyrocket her career.

Kincaid is an archeologist who is on the brink of the discovery of the century. He has found the lost city of the Olmecs and is trying to recover as many ancient artifacts and bones as possible. Kincaid had a rough childhood with his sister committing suicide and his whole family falling apart in the aftermath. Kincaid and his mother both turned to drinking. Kincaid took it further and also turned to drugs. He recovered when he hit rock bottom and decided he wanted to sober up and live his life. Leila, Kincaid’s ex-wife, destroyed his career and his reputation and the lost Olmec city is his last chance to salvage what is left of his career.

When Kincaid spots Charley in the jungle near his site, sparks "literally" fly. Charley is stubborn, persistent, and independent which is just the package that ends up knocking Kincaid off his feet. They are both attracted to each other, but too prideful to admit it. (Their attraction to each other and the constant sexual tension makes this a really sexy read.) Leila is also along for the ride. She is also selfish, manipulative, and calculating; she tries to ruin Kincaid's career and his blossoming relationship with Charley.

I will not spoil the end or mysteries of this book for you, because it's fun uncovering them for yourself. Just know that Charley, Leila, and Felipe are connected to the ancient Olmecs in some way. I love Charley and Kincaid's relationship. I really admire a woman whocan be without a man and be strong and independent which is what heightens the appeal of their relationship. The fact that they are both willing to confront their inner fears, insecurities, and bear their deepest secrets to each other really connected me with the characters. I have to say that two of the most enjoyable characters in the book are Collin (the chef) and Horrie (the one-eyed cat).

If you love action, mystery , suspense, history and lots of sexual tension than this book is for you. I enjoyed this book and how Maureen builds up their sexual tension and allows them to fall in love with each other. It doesn't happen too fast or too slow, but just right.

“Where would you like to walk to?” Kade, again, turned down his wolf and waited for Melanie’s reply.

“Our room?”

Her face was still stunning with the shade of beet red it became at her surprising, yet not unwelcome, announcement.

His wolf growled in agreement and preened for attention.

He gave her a smile that promised sinful and wicked deeds.

“That sounds like an outstanding idea, Melanie.”

Spread LOVE Not Hate Blog Hop

WOW!! Talk about a subject guaranteed to set me off and this is it. Bullying in any shape, form or medium will send me on the warpath quicker than anything. And this gathering of bloggers is meant to bring into focus the utter uselessness of bullying and those who employ these tactics.

For those of us who use the infinity of the Internet to broadcast our thoughts and opinions, we have a responsibility to do so in an intelligent, thoughtful and “do harm to none” manner. Just because you can say or do something doesn’t mean you should. And just because you don’t like something, doesn’t mean that a multitude of others feel the same or that you are by any means an expert on the thing you dislike. It is your opinion and if you can’t state that opinion in a constructive manner perhaps you should keep it to yourself or if you must unburden yourself by verbal or written means, may I suggest therapy or perhaps a message in a bottle. (sorry but I get a little wound up).

I know this is a somewhat ironic post from a blog with the word RAGE prominently displayed in the title. Rage is not bullying. In fact the Rage is at bullying and those who attack without thoughts of the damage they do and only do so when there is little to no chance of reprisal. In fact lets just call a spade a spade... bully/coward same thing. I have always felt a calling to aid those in a weaker position than myself, be they human, animal or heck even fictional. It's called empathy and decent hometraining. I like to think of myself as a fairly civilized and peaceable woman of a certain age, but personal attacks on the authors or reviewers that I hold in such high esteem have a tendency to bring out the redneck in me. I would really, really REALLY like to love everyone, and I do respect your right to your opinion, but do it in a way that doesn't cause undue harm to those you are writing about or talking to. If you have something of value to say, being positive will only make it louder and spread to a bigger audience.

The people I deal with in this sphere of the bloggerverse are a warm, caring and extremely helpful community that I have the utmost respect for and to see any of those people effected by bullying just doesn't set well with me. Just read my motto on the sidebar and remember... Do unto others.... and Don't start no thing, won't be no thing.

Erin is a college student trying to make ends meet by cleaning houses in her spare time. Her steadiest customer, Blake Morris, an injured military veteran, has also become her steadiest fantasy material. Evidently the feeling is mutual when Erin walks in on Blake doing his own version of “hand to hand” combat and moaning her name.

Horribly scarred and still dealing with the trauma of war, Blake sees himself as unworthy of someone as fresh as Erin. He is truly a damaged hero in the most literal sense of the word. This sexy little snippet of a story is not only incredibly HOT but also sweet. Blake needs a little ego building and young Erin is just experienced enough to provide it. The age difference in the characters is left up to the readers imagination although it is plain there is a gap, but no concrete numbers are offered so you can adjust them as you see fit. Personally is saw it as 21 and 38, but you can do your own thing. This Beauty and the Beast spin worked well for me and I really think you will enjoy it as well.

Wow!! I have been immersed in this series for awhile now and I am not ready to let it go. In fact I had to create a series rating based on how much I LOVED this series. I am a series slut, no doubt, no arguments. But I only have a hand full that I would be willing to sell my child for. (said child is 29 and not very sellable). For those few series, I have created the diamond standard as you can see at the top of this post. When I designate a series a diamond series, you know that I give this my highest recommendation and will run over the elderly and small children to get first crack at it.

L.J. DeLeon has created a world on the verge of a supernatural war with factions from every myth, realm and religion. She has given the reader FANTASTIC heroines, who are strong, yet compassionate, intelligent but always willing to learn from others, and some of the fiercest warriors anywhere. Her heroes are dominant, strong, incredibly sexy but damaged men who love as hard as they fight and are loyal to their core. The war they are fighting is massive and losses are enormous. The lines between good and evil shift several times and the players are not always who and what they seem. With a story that often brings as much heartache as smiles, this series has a long, long, long way to go before I am even partially sated. Brava and kudos on a job extremely well done.

At the mention of Johnny’s name, Margot stomach twisted and rolled with sudden nausea.

“Okay! Okay! Give me a second.”

She groped for the light switch to the hall. Nothing happened.

“Damn, stupid thing!” That’s what she got for not replacing the house’s ancient wiring.

“John, I’m freezing my ass off!”

“What do you expect,” Margot muttered, wondering if this guy was playing some sick joke at her expense.

Margot hit the outside light switch and peered through the glass panel beside the door. A man stood on the front porch. She didn’t recognize him, but then again, the sheet of snow and the light’s glare against the night backdrop didn’t help matters.

A gun or pepper spray for protection sounded pretty nice right now, but Margot hated guns and had never expected the need, living on the outskirts of Greyson, Arizona. It wasn’t like this town up in the White Mountains was loaded with crime. The worst incident had been a case of disorderly conduct last winter, and that had been from a drunken tourist.

“Who is it?'”

A pause on the other side followed --- almost as if she’d surprised him.

“Margot? Is that you? It’s Jake Preston.”

Though muffled, his words were clear enough to make out. The name sounded familiar, but she couldn’t recall what Johnny had said about him.

Margot frowned and winced as pain cut across her temple, brow and the base of her skull. She should have stopped at one glass of wine. “How do you know Johnny?”

“ I worked with him at Miltronics for several years on the outskirts of Boston.”

Margot debated about turning this Jake away as she watched him stamp his feet against the porch. He must be freezing – what with the wind and the snow.

“ I know it’s late, but I need to talk to John. Please. If you could just get him, you’ll see I’m harmless.”

The urgency in his voice made her decide. He obviously didn’t know about her brother. She sighed heavily. What she had to tell him wasn’t going to be easy.

Margot unlatched the lock and opened the door.

An angry gust of wind burst into the house, tearing the knob from her grasp. The door flew wide and crashed against the wall. Gasping, she reeled back as snow flew in, stabbing her face with icy spikes.

“Here, let me.” He stepped inside and shoved the door closed with his shoulder. He turned his back against the light from the kitchen, casting his face in shadow. His baseball cap further shielded his features – along with sunglasses of all things.

How very odd. Sudden apprehension curled up her spine as Margot stepped away from Jake and the doorway. Topping a good six-feet, he appeared far larger than when he’d stood behind a locked door.

“What are the sunglasses for?” she asked.

“The light.”

“What?”

“My eyes. They’re sensitive to light. I injured both corneas as a child.”

“Oh.” She must have been staring at him like an idiot, but something about him made her uneasy. And it wasn’t just the glasses and pale complexion.

He must have sensed her disquiet, because he explained further. “It’s called traumatic iritis. It’s something I’ve had to live with as long as I can remember.” He shrugged a large canvas backpack from his shoulder and placed it on the floor. “Can you get John for me?”

“He’s dead.”

Margot never intended for the words to come out so abrupt and final, but … it hurt. Balling her hands into fists, she fought against the sudden tears that burned the back of her eyes. Please no. Not now. She couldn’t fall apart in front of this stranger.

“He can’t be. That’s impossible.”

Karissa woke in a strange place and the memory she had was of being chased by creatures from a nightmare. Fleeing to the man her grandfather had said would protect her seemed to have not turned out as well as she’d hoped. He has left her in the bed and at the mercy of a vampire, the same as the creatures who murdered her beloved Papa. But Karissa has a trick or two up her sleeves, she may not have fangs or super human strength but she’s nobody’s midnight snack.

I knew from the first page that I had picked a winner with this book. It starts off with Roland obsessing about the cleanliness of his home being ruined by the dirty human female he is being forced to harbor. A hero who's a neat freak, I love it. My absolute favorite surprise from this book though, is the fact that the women are great. Strong, fierce and independent with smart, snarky attitudes and mouths with absolutely no quit anywhere in there bodies. Karissa the heroine has the attitude that even if I can't kill you, I can destroy your stuff....just love that. And there is a secondary female Gabby, who is a vampire who refuses to drink blood. She is a straight up star.

This book is about a turning point for the Paladins and their war against the darkness. If they stick to their old beliefs that all vampires are soulless evil creatures, they are going to lose the strongest weapon at their disposal. Roland has bought into their beliefs and sees himself as a monster unfit and unworthy of love or salvation, truly a tragic hero.... my favorite kind. Deliver Me From Darkness would be an outstanding book for the wonderful characters alone, but they merely are vehicles used to enact this multilayered and compelling story (The last thirty pages of which will have you biting your nails to the quick). Let me tell you, I found it hard to believe that this was Tes Hilaire's debut novel, she had her system down pat. Sometimes there's too much romance or too little and sometimes the flowery euphemisms make me want to wretch, but every element in this book was spot on. It was just graphic and sexy enough to add to the story and not detract from the fact that the vampires, demons and merkers are about to take over the world. I loved everything about this book and want to see a LOT more from Ms. Hilaire.

Abe Montgomery had one goal at the moment. Win the gold medal at the The World Martial Arts tournament and open his own Taekwondo school. He was totally focused until his cocky pride let his friends push him onto the “Bet”. You know the “Bet”, right, where men wager who can score the fastest. Paris had one goal. Get through this tournament with her mother and younger sister, then get as far away from martial arts as humanly possible. So what was she doing wandering off with the sport’s golden boy?

I will be totally honest, I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. I figured I would give it a quick read and at best read a few hot sex scenes. Well I did read some really HOT sex scenes, but I totally got into the characters and their story. Surprise!! How chagrined was I? I should have judged this book by the cover. (Isn't it smoking?) Skye Warren did an absolutely magnificent job in developing her characters and in pulling the readers into the drama taking place in their lives. And Paris, what an absolutely dynamite heroine. When she finds out about the "Bet" does she slink away, cry or cling. Um..... no. She gathers her tattered dignity and gives a very dignified exit. Then he gets to chase her and do a little groveling. You know I just luuuurve a good groveling. I got a lot more than I expected in this well written gem of a book. The story itself revolves around the sport of competitive martial arts and had a very adult Karate Kid feel ( I kept waiting for somebody to yell "Sweep the leg!") and while not an avid enthusiast of martial arts, it was presented in such a knowledgeable entertaining way that ended up learning a few things. If you're looking for something enjoyable, unique and very hot, you can't go wrong with Below the Belt. Big kudos on a job well done Ms. Warren.

Deadly Obsession was simply fantastic. My eyes were glued to this book the whole time! The only time I stopped reading it is for bathroom and snack breaks.

Nic has always lived his life in regret because of an accident that happened when he was a teenager. One night he was playing video games with his friends when he needed to leave the house. His sister Rachel told him they needed to go and he told her he needed just five more minutes and they would go. While in a hurry driving, he crashed into a tree with his sister in the car. Rachel’s legs were pinned between the dashboard and the seat of the car and she was losing a lot of blood. It took the paramedics two hours to get her out. Nic dropped out of High School to get a job and help out his family, but his dad always told him it wasn’t good enough. When Vivian and her husband David came along they made his wildest dream come true, to be an actor.

Lauren James is an aspiring photographer that works at a department store to make ends meet so she can support her son Jason. Lauren suffered a great loss when she lost her husband Todd to war. Ever since then she has lived alone... just Lauren and her son, Jason. After Todd's death, Lauren started feeling resentment towards him because he made the decision to re-up with out talking to her first, and now he was dead. She wore his dog tags every day to remember what they once had.

After winning the contest to shoot Nic, the Lover, Lauren is stoked. Nic shows up with his agent Vivian and agrees to let Lauren shoot him. They both have an instant connection and attraction to each other. When the paparazzi show up Nic kisses Lauren because that's what he does with all his "Paparazzi girls", but Lauren is different. their kiss ends up being full of passion that neither expected. Nic makes another appointment with Lauren because he loves her ideas and he recognizes that she has genuine talent.

The storyline of the stalker had me just as captured as the storyline of Nic and Lauren. I love how their story unfolds. Nic and Lauren both have a past they aren't proud of they have to confront it. While falling in love with each other they reveal and relinquish their pasts to one another.

Deadly Obsession is a "Must Read" book! It absolutely rocked: and I din't want it to end. It has a great story line, and characters that you will think about way after you've read the book. The progression of the book is just right, it's not too fast or too slow. It will leave you begging for more! Kristine, you are a truly talented writer and it was a pleasure to read your book!

Since I have a new paranormal romance coming out in two weeks, today I thought I’d talk about what I love most in romance. Heroes. When I read romance, I definitely read for the couple, the journey that gets them to their Happily Ever After, and the hot smexin (yes!), but for all that to happen, I need a hot hero. I have a few deal breakers in romance, and a crappy hero is in my top three. He doesn’t have to be tall, dark and handsome, though that doesn’t hurt. He doesn’t have to have a dangerous edge to him… though again, definitely doesn’t hurt! But if the man is a jerk or if he’s wimpy and whiny, I’m putting the book down (or more than likely deleting it from my Kindle).

As a rule, I love my men to be alpha. Sometimes alpha males get a bad reputation, but that’s because they’re often mislabeled as assholes. There is a huge difference between alpha and jerk. A man can be demanding, protective and sometimes pig headed, but he can still be respectful of the heroine at the same time. Once the respect goes out the window, so does my interest in the hero. And so does his title of “hero” for that matter.

In Alpha Instinct, my upcoming release, my hero is Alpha of his own pack and a natural leader so yeah, he’s definitely categorized as an alpha. Even if he does screw up on occasion (who doesn’t?) and drives the heroine just a tad crazy, he’s always got his woman’s back. That’s something I expect in my real life hero so I definitely expect it in the heroes I read about.

So what is Alpha Instinct about?

Alpha Instinct is the first book in a new paranormal series (Moon Shifter). It release February 7, 2012 from NAL/Signet Eclipse. The official blurb is:
