Sensex Trading Range - 01-03-2012 : Correction or Ranged Consolidation?

Most of the time, the Sensex trades between and around x,y & z

Whenever the Sensex crosses above all 3, a correction sets in sooner than later and vice versa when the Sensex goes below all 3.

This technique has been back-tested for the last 1200+ trading days with consistent accuracy.During periods of sustained rallies and extended corrections - the 3 variables - x,y&z stood as signposts for probable Sensex levels.

When the Sensex manages to hold itself above all 3, keep the trailing stop loss at the highest of the 3 variables - x,y & z.

Similarly,when the Sensex is below all 3, the variable immediately above the Sensex acts as a Resistance for the index.

Traditionally March has always been a good month for the Sensex & the markets with the Sensex recouping its January & February losses in this month. However in 2012, we are already sitting on a 2298 point gain for the Sensex.The possibility of the Sensex giving up on some of these gains,rather than building on to them are higher.

Offcourse, in the immediate term the Sensex will move higher in the run-up to the Budget, before deciding to give up on some of the 2012 gains.Therefore, continue to build longs for now,with a view on the budget.
