Dear Readers and Artists of Rising Artists International,

I am both sorry and pleased to announce that RAI is going through a major reconstruction. While the basic online promotion that I offered through this blog was nice, it has only a very small chance of helping you, the artist reach your musical goals and aspirations.

For those of you that do not know, my name is Dave Leek. I currently go to Rowan University for Radio/TV/Film production and very well might double major in Advertising by next year. I produce my own music and DJ for any event that will let do it. I love music and I love sound. I will be done college in a little less then 3 years. After that my plans are a little unclear, but my goals are very clear.

My Goals:

-Establish Rising Artists International as the leading Music Promotions Company in the world

-Release a few Albums featuring my own music and remixes

-Create the largest free music production website and organization in the world

-Host a yearly concert featuring myself and many other talented musicians and bands that will get bigger each year.

My schedule now allows approximately 5 minutes a day to dedicate to RAI. I hope to one day make it my life. But right now life is moving too fast. Don't worry, RAI will be back shortly, and better then ever.

- I have been a member in 12 different bands over the space of about 15 years and have gigged the UK top to bottom. My musical experiences have included working with Miles Hunt of the Wonderstuff and playing venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and the London Astoria. I write my own music and lyrics, sing lead and backing vocals, play acoustic 6 & 12 string, electric lead and rhythm, bass, and keyboards and piano as well as producing and mixing. An apology

I would like to apologize to all of the connected artists of RAI and those that have been waiting patiently for the last few months to get connected. My life has been a bit crazy in the aspect of finding time to actually work. Rising Artists at the moment isn't a real job, but a hobby that I have fallen in love with. It has been my dream now since last June to make RAI one of the top promotions company in the world. And now is time for that to happen. No more broken deadlines, and no more weekly dry spells on blog posts.

While I have been slacking on the business end of the stick, I have more then made up for in the planning ahead end of it. In the might be near future RAI will open up a customizable merchandise shop for connected artists. Every band needs its merch! In the coming weeks also expect frequent twitter updates with awesome little links to free downloads and inside secrets, and even some exclusive artist interviews. Expect a bi-weekly update for the "Artist Survival Guide" and a new artist every week! RAI will even offer free account creation for popular music websites like ReverbNation and Last.fm.

This is going to be an exciting rest of forever. So get ready and hold on!

It is time the music industry got a face lift. It is time we move away from big name Labels and focus more on the artists that truely make the difference in the world and music industry. It is time that more artists get recognized for the music they play and the message they send instead of whether or not they take their clothes off on stage.

I dream of creating a company to act not only as a promotions company for hard works bands and musical artists but also as a record label, a music management agency, and a friend. I dream of creating a company that not only helps give musical artists a boost in the industry but truely cares about the artists integrity and purpose.

So let's change things for the better, let's make a difference in the world of music and enable all great artists to get noticed. Instead of hide behind a wall of only a few myspace friends. This is our chance, so let's make a difference!

Due to increasing work load at RAI and elsewhere I am sorry to say that all applications to RAI will be closed until May 15th. They will re-open when the site is back to 100% status. There are many pages that need to be updated such as the application form, archives, downloads, the artist directory and the music player.

While applications will be closed there are still some artists that have already applied but have nnot recieved their review and post yet. The articles and reviews will be posted within the next two weeks.

The band “Veszelka Kommandó” has been formed by ex-musicians of Narco Polo, a band established in 1995. New Artist Application Method (Effective May 10th)

Due to the large amount of submissions RAI has been recieving we will be making the application process a little more streamlined for the future. Changes will not take effect until May 10th but below is the basic outline of what those changes will be.

In order to recieve promotional services from RAI the artist will need:

-To upload at least one track to RAI for free download to fans and for use on the featured article
-A ReverbNation account to possible addition to our websites music player
-A Last.fm account for possible addition to our online Radio
-To upload a picture to RAI for use in the featured article
-A Twitter account for addition to RAI's list of artists.

RAI has applied for the Pepsi Refresh Project to recieve a grant of $5,000. If we get accepted into the voting round and if we win the grant RAI will be recieving a fully operational website, instead of this super powered blog page. If we win the grant expect the new website to be released by December of 2010. Upon openning the new website the application requirements may change again.

A post will be made once voting starts so please help RAI out and vote for our idea on the Pepsi Refresh Project. Comming Soon.
