These beautiful yet realistic kitchens with inky black lacquer cabinets have been giving me a ton of inspiration lately for our own home.

In a perfect world I would love to open up the wall to the outside and add more windows, move the sink below the windows, a pantry surrounding the fridge, continue lower cabinetry around the right wall with open shelving above and opt for an induction cooktop to add more counter space. Would also like to open up the opposite wall to the living room w. an island & breakfast bar.

I am completely in love with Hanna Seabrook’s home tour that was featured on The Glitter Guide.

Hi friends! I am so excited to finally officially announce some new changes happening in the near future. I have been working with the amazing Amanda on a complete re-brand which will include a new website with services information and portfolio, a brand new blog design including a rebrand & name change which hint hint is going to be more in line with the shop name.

Speaking of shop, we are also launching the official Rai Atelier shop. Carrying vintage, refinished, and carefully chosen furniture, lighting, accessories, textiles, and artwork! Also offering re-upholstery options, and vintage & unique furniture and accessories sourcing for those looking for a particular piece we may not have at the moment. This has been in the works for about two years now, and is truly the result turning a hobby and passion into a small business.

There is still a lot to be organized, reupholstered, photographed and some legal/accounting aspects to sort out – but we are hoping to officially launch the e-commerce which will ship to Canada & The US [extremely reasonably and in many cases even INCLUDED in the price] in the late Summer early Fall.

In the mean time there will be some product & inventory sneak peeks, and as always if you are on the hunt for something in particular we can help with that too!

Hi ladies visiting from Sadie & Stella! So happy you are stopping by. Even happier Lindsay asked me to be a part of her series and share our space, so sweet!

Below are the before photos of our living room. These were taken when we did our walk through before buying.

The house when we bought it was dark, and appeared dirty even though it was kept very clean thanks to beige trim and ceilings, with each room of the house being painted a different horrible shade of blue, from this to aqua and everything in between. Simply white washing all the walls made a huge difference! Its true that paint can go a long way.

Lots of little projects have been going on, which I am hoping to share more of soon. I have some updates on the kitchen to show you in the coming weeks. As well as some exciting news that has been in the works for a while now regarding the re-brand & name change of this blog, and also a brand new site launching!
