For some reason the psychological trauma of knowing I was that close to being forty years old hit me when I was turning thirty-seven. I had no problems at thirty-six, but once thirty-seven hit I was a wreck.

I am now forty-two years old and it is no big deal; I kind of like the idea of being that old. In fact if I were turning thirty-seven this year, I don't know if I would even be alive. If I were turning thirty-seven this year then that would mean that I would have been born on July 19th of 1973 and I just don't believe I would have ever made it to my birth day.

I have always know that I was born out of wedlock and that my mother went through some rough times when she was pregnant with me. What I did not know until this year is that my grandparents were so ashamed of my mother that they sent her away to a home in San Francisco until she gave birth, so no one would know she was pregnant. I was always told my mom was on vacation in San Francisco and that is why I was born there; I never knew how unwanted I really was.

So what if the year were 1973 instead of 1967? What if my mother told my grandparents about me just after January 22, of 1973? If my grandparents were willing to send my mother away to be alone and scared for months, would they have been willing to just "get it taken care of"? In my heart I truly believe that if my mother were pregnant with me in 1973, I would have never been born.

Next week marks year thirty-seven of legalized child killing in America: not an anniversary we should be proud of. Thirty-seven years ago our Supreme Court handed down the most deadly and bloody decision in our nation's history. Thirty-seven years ago the bloodshed began as the Abortion Holocaust raged forward leaving the a path of death, pain and utter devastation in its path.

So here we are thirty-seven years later and I can sit in my office dumbfounded as I have to get ready for another year of fighting for the most basic of all human rights: the right to life. I am almost sick to my stomach as I think about another year of excuses as to why God's people remain silent and comfortable in their apathy. I dread the comments I will read from so called Christian leaders about how we just need to find that common ground: that abortion is just a fact of life and we might as well accept that it is here to stay. If I hear one more person tell me they don't want to be actively pro-life because it is just too controversial and they don't want to offend anyone I might just vomit on the spot.

I never thought I could hate the number thirty-seven more than I already did, but now that we are approaching the thirty -seventh anniversary of the Abortion Holocaust I have found a new disdain for the number. I know that next Friday as I stand in the middle of hundreds of thousands of people marching to the Supreme Court at the annual March for Life, I will be fighting back the tears.

I know that as I approach that building where those nine men played God and redefined what a human person is, I will probably have clinched fists as I choke back the anger. I know that if they had made that decision 6 years earlier, I would probably not have had the opportunity to stand and fight for those who weren't as lucky as me.

You know where I will be next Friday, January 22; now I want to know where you will be? I know not everyone can make it to Washington D.C., but I do know you can take a stand wherever you might be. So where will you be? What will you be doing next Friday as the Abortion Holocaust turns thirty-seven years old? Will you take a stand next Friday and be a voice for those who will never have a chance to have one?

Here are some simple ideas for you to do on Friday, January 22nd:

1. Go to Washington D.C. to the March for Life

2. Find out of there will be a local March for Life in your area. I know for sure there will be one in San Francisco

3. Go to your local abortion mill and hold a prayer vigil with your friends and church

4. Ask your pastor to hold a candlelight prayer vigil

I am sure there are thousands of things you can do, the point is to do something.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper

Feel free to re-post

Order Bryan's New Book - Social Justice Begins in the Womb here: http://store.prolifeworld.com

The Health Care Vote and The Stupak Amendment - Did We Really Ban Taxpayer-Funded Abortion?

The Health Care Vote and The Stupak Amendment - Did We Really Ban Taxpayer-Funded Abortion?

I know that many of you watched the Health Care Reform vote on Saturday night like I did. I began to see the tweets, facebook updates and press releases going out almost immediately after the vote on the Stupak Amendment passed in the House. I was not quite as ready as many other to celebrate a victory.

Of course it made me happy to see that so many Democrats seemed to be taking a stand against our tax dollars going to fund the killing of innocent human children. I am always pumped when the side of life wins out over death. The problem I have is that it really seems like this amendment is just "empty calories", kind of like a cupcake that tastes good now but has no real benefit to us other than taste.

First I would like to point out that there already are millions and millions of taxpayer dollars funding abortion both here in the States and in other countries. Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of child-killing in the country, gets millions of dollars every year from the government. Now I have heard people try and argue that the government money does not directly pay for abortions, but it is still going to the largest abortion provider in America.

In his first week in office, President Obama reversed the Mexico City policy which opened the floodgates of US taxpayer money into other countries to pay for abortions. I don't know how these congressmen and women can sit there and try and tell us not to worry, that federal funds won't go to abortion, when they already do both here in the US and abroad.

Another problem I have with the Stupak Amendment is that it is full of exceptions, which again open the door for taxpayer money to go for abortions. Additionally, I refuse to praise any legislation which dehumanizes children simply because they may have been conceived in rape or incest. They are still human persons. I have talked about this in many other commentaries; we cannot say that killing children is ok in some circumstances because what we are saying then is that some children in the womb are not as fully human as others. A child in the womb is no less human than anyone at any other stage of their life; that is why we are against abortion in the first place. It is not that we are against a procedure; we are against it because that procedure kills a human person.

Another obvious problem with the Stupak Amendment is that it seems that it was just a smokescreen to get pro-life Democrats to vote for the health care bill; without the amendment the bill probably would not have passed. In my opinion, the amendment will probably be stripped away in committee and will never make it into any final version of the bill.

I just refuse to see this as a great victory, but rather more like a pro-life cupcake. While the cupcake looked good and tasted good at the time, it was just empty calories that pacified the masses and in the end did had no nutritional value at all. Let's remain encouraged by the fact that this amendment was even brought to a vote, but still understand it was simply a feel-good treat.

Just my thoughts.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

An Abortionist Was Aborted Yesterday

An Abortionist Was Aborted Yesterday

Yesterday morning, abortionist George Tiller was aborted as he walked into his church. Someone decided to take the law into their own hands and abort him for what he has done to thousands of innocent little baby boys and girls.

Stand True does not believe in aborting abortionists and denounces this violent act. Answering the violence of abortion with more violence will not serve the babies or help the pro-life movement in any way. We are praying for the family of George Tiller and those in his church while he was shot. We know that healing can come through Jesus and pray those involved in the abortion industry will turn to Christ.

I am sure some of you are trying to figure out why I would be so insensitive as to use the term “aborted” when referring to the murder of George Tiller. I wonder of those who think I am being insensitive are also people who would be mad when I use the term “murdered” when talking about babies who are aborted? In all reality I am being very sensitive to the abortion industry by saying he was aborted, since that is the term they like to use to describe the taking of a life.

While this may sound very sarcastic, I am truly saddened by yesterday's events. However I am also saddened that yesterday, 4,000 babies were also murdered. I am saddened that today, 4,000 babies will be murdered. I am saddened that tomorrow, 4,000 babies will be murdered.

I am saddened that the news media will not be reporting on the horrific fate of those 4,000 innocent babies who are just as human as and deserving of the same protection as George Tiller.

I am saddened that the police who so diligently searched for and apprehended the man who aborted George Tiller; are the same police who protect the men and women who abort little baby boys and girls.

I listened to commentators talking on the news about how we need to “tone down” our rhetoric to avoid violence. What they refuse to see is that our rhetoric is crying out against violence, the violence of child killing. We are the ones who are trying to bring an end to violence and 4,000 murders a day.

I have seen what happens is the past when an abortionist is aborted, the pro-life movement seems to shy away from action. I have seen people drop out of the movement and back away from getting involved.

If anything, we need to step up our fight against violence and the killing of human persons. What yesterday showed us is that hearts have been hardened to life and we must shine the light of Christ and Hope into this dark world even brighter then ever.

I urge all of you who believe in the sanctity of human life to stay focused. Do not let this despicable act of cowardice sway you from standing up and being a voice for the babies. I know things will be tough, as people will judge us just for being associated with pro- life. We must reiterate that the abortion of George Tiller was not a pro-life act, just as the murder of 4,000 children a day are not pro- life acts.

As for using the term “aborted” when referring to the death of George Tiller. I will stop using that term when the pro-abortion industry starts calling abortion “homicide”, which is what it is. I am simply using their own term to describe the taking of a human life; they should have no problem with it.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

Feel free to re-post with credit given to the source.

Any and all comments promoting violence against abortionists will be deleted.

You cannot murder people and call it pro-life – Stand True denounces the murder of abortionist George Tiller

You cannot murder people and call it pro-life – Stand True denounces the murder of abortionist George Tiller

Troy, OH May 31, 2009 – Stand True – Christ Centered Pro-life denounces the murder of abortionist George Tiller this morning in Wichita, KS. “We cannot kill people in the name of pro-life.” said Bryan Kemper, President of Stand True. “Answering the violence of abortion with more violence will not serve the babies or help the pro-life movement in any way”.

While Stand True is committed to ending the killing of innocent children through abortion, we are committed to non-violent, peaceful action. The fact is, he was and he spoke and that is what I want to address.

I can imagine that for any graduate to have the President of the United States of America come to speak at his or her graduation ceremony would be an amazing experience. Even if you didn't vote for that President, it would be an honor to know he picked your school's invitation to speak. Even though I am adamantly against many of the President Obama's policies, I must still respect the office he holds.

I know many pro-lifers from around the country were at Notre Dame to protest and pray as they felt it was an abomination for such and ardently pro-abortion president to speak at a Catholic University. I was invited to come and speak and join some of the groups in their protests and prayer vigils. The fact that my wife is due in just a few days with our sixth child made the decision to stay home and watch it on TV an easy one.

I was very intrigued to hear what he could possibly have to say about abortion to a Catholic University, as the news mentioned he would speak extensively on this issue. I could not imagine him suddenly taking some kind of pro-life position. What he did was try an pacify pro-lifers with false, fluffy nonsense about common ground and reducing abortions.

Common ground? I am sick and tired of hearing people talk about common ground when it comes to the slaughter of innocent children. Our ground is stained with the blood of over 50,000,000 baby boys and girls whose deaths cry out for justice.

Let me ask you this.

Would you be willing to find common ground with someone advocating for legalized rape?

Would you be willing to find common ground with someone advocating the reinstitution of the Third Reich and Nazi policies?

Of course not, these are ludicrous statements. I would also argue that finding common ground with those who advocate for the killing of fully human pre-born children is a ludicrous idea.

What if Adolf Hitler gave a speech to the Allied Forces asking us to find common ground and just find a way to reduce the number of Jews being killed? We are talking about genocide here; simply reducing it is not an option. In the same way, the abortion holocaust is genocide and simply reducing the killing is not an option.

President Obama's saying he wants to reduce abortions is also a out-and-out lie as he released millions of our taxpayer dollars to pay for overseas abortion within three days of taking office. He also vowed to sign the so called “Freedom of Choice Act” which would completely deregulate the abortion industry and wipe out what few restrictions there are in place now.

While I do believe we must reach out in love to women who are seeking abortions and offer them an alternative and the hope we have in Christ, I will not meet the abortion issue with the hospitality President Obama spoke of.

The reason his words sounded to elegant and tickled so many ears as he spoke of such nonsense is because people have been blinded by the pro-abortion rhetoric beginning with the belief that it is about choice. There are certain things in life that cannot be left to someone's personal choice and killing a baby is one of those.

President Obama is an amazing orator was able to make people think that he is truly concerned about abortion and pro-life issues, I can't tell you how many people I know who think he is pro-life. The professor that was interviewed outside the graduation ceremony was trying to say that President Obama is the best thing for the pro-life movement because he wants to reduce abortions instead of wanting to end abortion.

I am sorry but I must reiterate that simply reducing the number of babies being killed is not what I and Stand True and the pro-life movement are fighting for. We want every single human person from the moment of fertilization to be fully protected.

The problem is we are allowing abortion to fall in a different category than every other act of homicide. But abortion is not a different act; it is a different method of the act of homicide. It is still one person killing another person.

One of the things the news kept repeating during their coverage of the whole Notre Dame scandal was a new Zogby Poll in which they declare the a majority of Americans now call themselves pro-life. As someone who travels the country for much of the year for the past 18 years, I already knew this. The majority of the people I meet in my travels identify themselves as pro-life, whether it is on an airplane, in a store or anywhere else I go.

So the next step is to get that majority to not only call themselves pro-life, but act like they believe abortion is an act of homicide. We need to activate this generation to be a voice so loud and so clear that we have no choice but to protect the lives of the innocent, fully human, pre-born children who are being killed almost 4,000 times a day.

Mr. President. I will offer NO hospitality to the killing of innocent children; there is NO common ground when it comes to ground that is stained with the blood of millions of innocent children.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper bryankemper@standtrue.com

Can you hear the silence? - A commentary by Bryan Kemper

Can you hear the silence? - A commentary by Bryan Kemper

One hundred and fifty-two years ago, nine men sat upon a bench that was designed to bring equal justice under law to all Americans and disgraced their office. They lifted themselves above God Almighty and declared that Black people were not fully human. This atrocity is something we teach in our schools as one of the darkest moments in American history.

Thirty- six years ago, nine men sat upon a bench that was designed to bring equal justice under law to all Americans and disgraced their office. They lifted themselves above God Almighty and declared that pre-born babies were not fully human. This atrocity is something we teach in our schools as one of the greatest moments in American history.

These two devastating acts ushered in two very dark and tragic chapters of American history. These decisions have been responsible for the death of millions of Americans and have brought shame on our nation. One of these chapters was brought to a close long ago, while the other is still open and still stains our nation's streets with the blood of innocents.

So here we are thirty- six years later and still almost 4,000 babies are killed every day in our country. That is 1,200,000 little baby boys and girls taken from the safety of their mother's womb every year in the name of choice.

It is hard to imagine these numbers sometimes. They just seem so unreal. Let's look at a recent event that has caused the whole world to react. A few years ago the tsunamis in southern Asia claimed over 140,000 lives in one day. The devastation there has brought an outpouring of humanitarian relief and aid that is unlike anything this world has probably ever seen.

140,000 lives lost. That is equal to about 35 days of abortion. That would be about 11 tsunamis hitting America with equal loss of life every year. We would have had to have over 396 tsunamis hit our shores since January 22, 1973, all with equal loss of life to match how many children have been killed by surgical abortion alone.

Where is the outpouring of humanitarian aid for this loss of life? Where are all the news stories about people who are trying to figure out ways to avoid this holocaust? Where are God's people 36 years later? What are we waiting for?

As the people in Southern Asia fled from the tsunami and were rescued, as they clung to floating objects and trees, they were able to cry out for help. The children that will die today from abortion are not able to cry out. They need a voice. They need action.

I know this generation is capable of action as they have embraced the social justice movement. We have recognized so much suffering in the world and are crying out for justice. With all of the outpouring of love and humanity; why have we still forgotten the most vulnerable of all human life? We must take this social justice passion to the next level; we must recognize that social justice begins in the womb.

Listen carefully. Can you hear it? Can you hear the deafening silence of 1/3 of this generation is about to die? Will you be a voice for the voiceless? Will you break the silence? Will you take action?

For Christ I stand,
Bryan Kemper

Abortion Terminology and Hate Speech

Abortion Terminology and Hate Speech

I find it fascinating how many people think that by simply saying, “abortion is the killing of a human person,” I am somehow practicing hate speech. It seems like even those who are opposed to the killing of innocent human persons are reluctant to call it just that: killing. Some have even told me not to use the word abortion because it might offend someone who has had one if they have to think about what they have done. The crazy part about this is that these statements often come from those who call themselves Christian and pro-life.

I recently got an e-mail from a Christian who was furious at me for using the term "abortionist". He was appalled that I would refer to someone who performs abortions as an abortionist because that is saying he wants to commit abortions. Are you confused? I was when I read his e-mail; I actually had to read it a couple of times through just to make sure I was not mis-reading it.

I explained to him that “abortionist” was simply a technical term such as therapist, anesthesiologist or scientist. He claimed that no one wants to perform abortions and using a term like that was hateful. I actually think that using the term is too kind; abortionists don't deserve professional titles.

In almost any genre, field, clique, movement or belief system you will find terminology that is unique and not often know outside of that group. You will find that inside the pro-life movement people often refuse to call the building is which abortions are performed, “clinics,” but rather “abortion mills.” The fact is a clinic is a place where people go for healing, not to have someone else killed. The term "abortion mill" comes from the fact that most of these places cycle through large groups of mothers in short periods of time and will kill the largest quantity of babies in the shortest periods of time; therefore, we call it a mill.

Another term often used is "pro-abortion" instead of the inaccurate term coined by the abortion industry, “pro-choice.” Before you rant at me about this one please read my commentary about this particular subject as it is too much to cover inside this commentary - Tough Questions - Pro-choice or Pro-abortion; is There a Difference? http://www.standtrue.com/pages/commentaries/choiceabortion.htm . The simple answer to this is that if someone is "pro" the right to abortion then they are pro-abortion; this is just basic logic here.

Most pro-lifers will also refuse to say "terminate a pregnancy"; we would call it what it really is: child-killing. I refuse to refer to a child in the womb as a "pregnancy". Why do we feel the need to sanitize abortion and not call it what it really is, the killing of a human person? Why do we have to change everything to not hurt people's feelings by using correct and proper terms?

I understand that there have been some harsh aspects of the pro-life movement and people that have no business being involved in the movement. I know that a few idiots have done some inexcusable things in the name of pro-life and that is wrong.

I believe we need to love those who have been hurt by abortion and be compassionate in our work. I don't think we need to scream and yell at people but rather love them and offer hope.

In the same manner I refuse to dishonor the over 50,000,000 full human persons who have been killed by abortion by referring to them as "terminated pregnancies". I will never afford the term "doctor" to a man who uses his God-given talents to rip babies limb from limb and leave mothers hurting for the rest of their lives.

Why is it that we only want to tip toe around the atrocities of abortion and not other heinous crimes? Imagine if someone started calling rapists "involuntary sex partners" just to soften the term so there is not as much stigma in the name? What if we called murder "post-pregnancy termination" so it would not make the person who committed the murder feel bad for what they had done? Maybe we could call people who believe it is ok to molest little children "pro-choice" because they should have the choice to do what they believe?

I hope you find these examples ludicrous; I do. What I find more ludicrous is when I am told I am using hate speech for call the killing of an innocent human person “homicide.” I find it unthinkable to reduce the lives of precious babies to simply "choices"; that to me is the real hate speech.

Bryan Kemper bryankemper@standtrue.com

Valentine's Day, Sex and Chastity

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I decided to republish something we put out last year as it is so appropriate for this time of year. Chastity so key to the pro-life movement and needs to be discussed by parents and churches.

One of the main arguments people give to support the pushing of contraception and sex education on kids is the lack of knowledge teens have today. I have to agree that too many parents and churches are afraid to talk about sex and treat it like it is some sort of evil taboo they never want their kids to know about.

I believe that sex is a beautiful gift from God and we need to teach our children that information , as well as what it is intended for and how to respect that gift. I believe if we can accomplish this, we could drastically reduce abortion rates.

Chastity is for Lovers

We are often asked why we use the word chastity over the word abstinence. Isn't it the same thing? Why would you tell married people to practice chastity? Are you saying that sex is bad even if you're married?

Most people think that abstinence and chastity are the same thing. Far from it: abstinence is simply abstaining from sex, but with some people that definition becomes very fuzzy. Some would say that remaining abstinent means refraining from all sexual activity, while others would say it simply refers to sexual intercourse and nothing else.

Chastity, on the other hand, is not just about abstaining from sexual behavior; it's a lifestyle that we choose to live. While chastity does include refraining from sexual activity before marriage, it also encompasses much more.

Chastity is not just for non-married people; it's something for everyone to embrace and practice. As a married man I must live a chaste life in my marriage and remain chaste to my wife. That does not mean that I abstain from sex with my wife; it means that I abstain from outside sexual behavior. A married couple enters into a bond and covenant with God to remain faithful to each other and to keep their marriage bed sacred.

Outside of the marriage covenant, sexual behavior is simply an act of lust. While many may say that they love each other and that it's entered into in love, it really cannot be defined as love. God is the creator of sex and He made us sexual beings. However, He did set guidelines for sex and created it for a purpose.

Sex is not simply about physical pleasure, as today's society may teach. If you were to look at what the media, educational system, Planned Parenthood, MTV and most of popular culture push onto the youth, you would think that humans were simply wild animals with no self-control.

Sex is so much more than just physical pleasure. It was created for two main purposes: reproduction and unity between man and wife. We, of course, know that there is physical pleasure involved, but that does not mean it's good for all occasions.

There is a popular saying: "If it feels good, it must be OK." We know that it would be ridiculous to apply that to everything in life. I know that drugs feel good, but does that make them OK? When someone commits a crime they may get a rush of adrenaline that feels good, but does that make it OK? There are many things in life that are fun and give us pleasure. That does not necessarily make them right.

Many also teach that sex is a taboo or dirty thing. While outside of the marriage covenant sex is forbidden by God, it i s not in and of itself dirty or taboo. Sex is a beautiful act that God created for man and wife to enjoy and to bring them closer together as one. Sex brings a unity and bond to a man and a woman that God intended for us to share in a loving relationship.

The word love is so misused in today's society; it has almost no meaning in most instances. God created love and gave us the ability to love. Lust, which is what takes place when we abuse sex and ignore its purpose, can very often be mistaken for love.

When people enter into a sexual relationship outside of the bonds of marriage it is simply to fulfill their own selfish desires for physical pleasure. When a man pressures a woman into sex and tells her, "You would if you loved me," he is simply coercing her for his own selfish desire. Lust becomes the driving factor, not love.

When young people start to date and become physically involved certain things happen inside their bodies. It's how we are created. Physical activity will trigger our bodies to react in ways that God intended, but He intended those reactions for marriage.

So, where do we draw the line? What is appropriate behavior for a man and woman who are not married? The question should not be, "How far can we go before it's a sin?" The question should be, "Are we acting in lust or in love?"

It seems so often that we just want to fulfill our own desires instead of wanting to honor God and our bodies in the way God intended. We look at sex and physical pleasure as simply that : pleasure.

Many groups teach that it's unhealthy to restrain ourselves and deny the sexual desires that we have for each other. This comes from the mindset that we should indulge in what feels good and live our lives for ourselves. This is contrary to all that God teaches us about life. The scripture teaches us in Galatians 2:20 , " I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

We must live our lives for Christ and not for ourselves or for our selfish desires. Many of us forget this principle when it comes to our physical relationships, but truly unhealthy behavior is living our lives for ourselves, including engaging in sexual activity outside of the covenant of marriage. We all know that there are so many pitfalls to promiscuous sexual behavior such as STDs, unwed pregnancies, heartbreak and brokenness. The world seems to try so hard to come up with false hope and protection from these dangers, but the answer is simple.

If we truly act in love and treat sex as it was intended, then we can avoid these dangers along with a need for false safety nets. If we truly act in love we can experience sex in the way God intended it, which is the most beautiful expression of our love to each other.

If we are acting in lust, not love, then we are robbing ourselves of the true purpose of an amazing gift God gave to us. If we are acting in love, than we are honoring God and each other. If we are acting in love we are living a chaste life both before and in our marriage.

Chastity is for lovers.

Bryan Kemper bryankemper@standtrue.com

Stand True's March for Life and Inauguration Recap and Slide Show

Stand True's March for Life and Inauguration Recap and Slide Show

This is probably one of the most depressing parts of my job: writing the recap for yet another March for Life which starts another year of decriminalized child killing in America. While I know that we had some amazing ministry, fellowship and outreach in Washington D.C. last week, I am saddened that another year of the American Holocaust has begun.

Our week started out with the drive to Washington D.C. on Monday, January 19th, the day before the Inauguration. We gathered with friends from Survivors, Christian Defense Coalition and other to prepare for Inauguration. At least 20 of us squeezed into two small rooms and attempted to sleep on hardwood floors for about 3 hours before our adventure began.

At 3:30 we started to wake up and pile on the layers of clothing as we prepared to make our way towards the Inauguration parade route. I have never seen so many people up and walking at 4:30 in the morning in my life; it was a very strange morning to say the least. As we met with the Secret Service to be escorted to our permitted spot, we were ushered by thousands of people who had been waiting in line for hours. We were not that surprised by the booing we got from the crowd as we were taken right to the front of everyone.

I can honestly say that I have never been as cold in my life as I was that morning. By the time the sun came out I could not really feel the big toe on my left foot. By 7:30 AM we were in our spot for the parade and now it was just a matter of waiting several hours for President Obama to pass by. We spent time in prayer and talked to people around us about why we were there. When President Obama passed us he was seen reading the banner, "53,000,000 lives lost through abortion, President Obama end the violence".

We know that his first week in office was spent doing the opposite of what our banners pleaded but that will not deter our determination to stand for our brothers and sisters who need a voice. President Obama has already opened the floodgates for funding of embryonic stem cell research and funding abortion overseas and he has not even been in office for a month. We must continue to pray for and admonish him to stand for life and live out the faith he claims to believe in.

The Inauguration may have been over, but our week was just beginning. We were up bright and early the next morning to set up the Stand True booth at the March for Life convention. We welcomed in the rest of the Stand True team as we prepared for the March and other events we had planned.

Thursday morning we got up early and headed out to the White House to pray for our new President on the anniversary of Roe vs Wade. We prayed for him to embrace life and the sanctity of all human life from the moment of fertilization to natural death. Later we met up with many of the other organizations from the Youth Life Alliance and marched together as a unified youth pro-life movement. We were excited to see over 300,000 people gather in Washington for the March for Life, the biggest I can remember since 1994 when I started coming.

Friday morning we were up bright and early again as we met at an abortion mill near George Washington University for the start of our prayer walk. We were so blessed to have over 350 people join us for this event. We prayed at the first abortion mill for about 45 minutes before walking to the Planned Parenthood a couple of miles away. After a time of prayer and singing at Planned Parenthood we walked to the White House for a time of prayer and a talk from Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I was honored by the chance to speak and pray next to Dr. King and join her as we laid down 1,400 flowers at the White House, commemorating the number of African-American babies that die each day through legal abortion.

Later that day we finished up our activism with a display of Life Development signs near Union Station in the heart of D.C. We ended the afternoon with prayer and then got some much-needed rest before the Students for Life Conference the next day.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early again to set up our booth at the Students for Life conference. I was speaking at the conference that afternoon and was excited to see the place so full. It turned out to be a great conference and we talked to hundreds of students who were excited to be more active in pro-life and get involved with Stand True.

The staff and I probably got about 10 total hours of sleep the whole week, but it was so worth it. We know that God was glorified, His word was proclaimed in love on throughout the streets and His people came together for the voiceless.

My prayer is that we do not have to return next year for the 37th March for Life (I refuse to say annual, because it must end). This simple poem speaks volumes about personhood and the struggle to attain equality.

Corrie Ten Boom wrote a book entitled, "The Hiding Place" in which she talked about her days in a concentration camp. She was not Jewish; she was imprisoned and tortured for hiding Jews in her home because she believed they were equal human persons.

Rosa Parks sat down and refused to get up from a seat she was told she had no right to sit in. She decided that she was no longer going to be told that she was less human than anyone else on that bus.

Anne Frank wrote in her diary, "I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains" – this coming from a young woman having to live in a hidden apartment for two years because she was declared a non - human person.

Martin Luther King, Jr. cried out, "I have a dream." He believed in a world where men were not looked at as black or white, but as men. He believed we could live as equal human persons and destroy the prejudices that plagued mankind.

What do all these people have in common?

Some may say oppression. Oppression is certainly a word that can be used to describe all of their lives. Can you imagine yourself as young girl like Anne Frank living in a small hidden apartment for two years, never allowed to leave for fear of certain death?

Some may say determination. Langston Hughes was determined to see a day when our African American brothers would not be seen as less than any other American.

Some may say courage. I can't imagine the courage it took for Corrie Ten Boom to risk her own life and freedom for total strangers. She endured years of torture and even found a way to thank God for her bunk being infested with fleas, knowing it saved her from abuse.

Some may say resolve. Oh, to see the resolve in the face of Rosa Parks on the bus that day! To see her claim her spot as an equal human person and refuse to be dehumanized.

Some may say passion. Passion is one of the best words you can use to describe Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. When you hear his speech you can't help but be moved.

While all of these words are truly things these great humans had in common, there is one other thing that makes them stand out from others who have been dehumanized: their voice. They all had a voice and were able to use that voice to cry out for their lives, their freedom and their humanity. A voice is something that thousands of innocent people every day in America will never have.

Can you imagine if a child in the womb could write a poem about how one day he too would be called an American?

Can you imagine if babies that were not going to be killed by abortion could hide others that were scheduled for death?

Can you imagine if when the abortionist tried to kill a young little girl she was able to sit down in the womb with resolve and say, “I will not be killed”?

Can you imagine the speech a young child would give proclaiming the day all innocent pre-born children are counted as human?

While we know these things are impossible for the children in the womb to accomplish, they are not impossible for us. We do have a voice; we now need to find the courage, determination, resolve and passion to fight against the oppression of innocent children.

Some may say, "How dare you compare abortion with the holocaust or oppression of African Americans!" I say how dare we not. How dare we look back at some of the most brutal, inhumane and dehumanizing acts in history and not also include the killing of innocent babies?

We are ushering in a new era in America this year. With the election of Barack Obama to the Presidency, we are seeing something many people believed would not happen in their lifetime. We are witnessing something that we should all be proud of regardless of our political views. America has taken one more step towards equality and wiping out racial prejudices.

So many people do not believe they will see the killing of innocent children stop in their lifetime either. So many people have accepted the abortion holocaust as status quo. I refuse to accept or believe that we cannot defeat this evil.

It is time, my friends, to adopt the words that describe these great humans I wrote about. It is time to believe that we will usher in an era where pre-born children are considered full human persons. It is time to use our voices to proclaim life and freedom for the thousands of our brothers and sisters who die needlessly every day.

It is time to say: They, Too, America.

Bryan Kemper bryankemper@standtrue.com

Merry Christmas from the Stand True Family.

Merry Christmas from the Stand True Family.

I sat in Church on Sunday morning listening to the sermon and it was hard to concentrate on what my pastor was saying. It was not that he was not giving a great sermon or that I was bored or any thing like that. I just have such a hard time thinking of anything other that Charlie Brown and Linus when I read Luke chapter 2.

I am not trying to trivialize the Holy Word of God by comparing it to a cartoon. I just love how bold and simple the message is given in the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon. I love Christmas time and I love all the fun family activities we do this time of year. Watching Christmas specials is one of those activities, and there is no better Christmas special on tv in my opinion than "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

I hope you will all have an opportunity to watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas" this year. If you are not able to watch the whole show, here is a video clip of Linus explaining Christmas:

If you can not see the video in this e-mail go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKk9rv2hUfA

If you are not able to watch the video at all, here is a transcript of the scene:

IN THE AUDITORIUM, CHARLIE BROWN AND LINUS ARE STAGE RIGHT, AND THE REST OF THE PEANUTS GANG ARE STAGE LEFT

CHARLIE BROWN: I guess I really don't know what Christmas is all about.

SHOUTS

Isn't there anybody who knows what Christmas is all about?

LINUS: Sure Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about.

WALKS TO CENTER STAGE

Lights please.

LIGHTS GO DOWN, SPOTLIGHT ON LINUS AS HE RECITES LUKE 2:8-14

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

LIGHTS COME BACK UP AS LINUS WALKS BACK

That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Merry Christmas,

Bryan Kemper

President, Stand True - Christ Centered Pro-life

Indiana Planned Parenthood Rape Cover Up Part 2

Indiana Planned Parenthood Rape Cover Up Part 2

Last week I wrote a story entitled" The Abortion Industry and How They Cover Up Child Rape". If you did not have a chance to read that story or see the videos associated with it, click here: http://www.standtrue.com/pages/commentaries/industrycover.htm

This week we are bringing you another video from Lila Rose and Live Action Films. This is another Planned Parenthood in Indiana willing to cover up child rape.

If you can 't see the video in this e-mail click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTxsWZz9whg

The good news is there are many great organizations like Live Action Films who are fighting against Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. I told you about flying to Orange County a couple of months ago to speak for a 40 Days for Life vigil; the abortion mill we prayed at is now closed forever. The Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity saw 57 girls cancel abortion appointments and decide to keep their babies. Events like these and the films from Live Action Films are changing lives and saving babies.

More good news : many of the world ' s youth pro-life organizations have joined together to form the Youth Life Alliance and work on projects together. We talked to Lila Rose , and Live Action Films will be joining the Youth Life Alliance as we work together with many other youth pro-life groups to bring and end to child killing and establish a culture of life.

Please check out http://www.youthlifealliance.com and our action calendar of youth events you can get involved with.

Bryan Kemper bryankemper@standtrue.com

The Abortion Industry Covers Up Child Rape

The Abortion Industry Covers Up Child Rape

Over the past 17 years I have witnessed some of the most grievous and despicable crimes you can imagine. I have spent the last 17 years of my life dedicated to trying to stop many of these crimes , only to have our government pass laws against my efforts and put me in jail for trying to save lives.

In last week's new s letter I talked to you about a tactic we called "Truth Teams". I told you about how I would take a young girl into an abortion clinic and she would ask for a pregnancy test. While I waited for her in the lobby I would pass out pro-life literature and witness to people in the lobby and she would fill the back room with pro-life literature. I told you how on one occasion I witnessed an abortion take place and how that changed my life forever as I committed to God to do this work until babies were not longer being killed.

While the Truth Teams were very effective and we saw many babies saved and women's lives changed from this outreach, it is no longer possible to do. The government has passed what is called the FACE act which makes it a federal offense to do outreaches like this.

Back in the 90's there were two occasions that stick out so clearly in my mind. The girl I would take into the abortion mill with me was only 13 years old. Her parents would usually wait outside and knew what we were doing. This girl was a virgin and had never even kissed a boy in her life, yet twice the abortion mill came out and told us that she was pregnant. They were very clear that they would not report us to law enforcement since I was clearly and adult and she was a child. They told us if we paid them in cash they would do the abortion and not tell anyone.

I know you may be scratching your head right now trying to figure out how a 13 year old virgin who has never even kissed a boy could be pregnant. She obviously wasn't; this fact , however , didn't stop the abortion "doctor" from offering to do an abortion on her (while of course also promising not to tell anyone) .

I have seen so many mind - blowing things like this over the years , and I wonder how the government continues to ignore and protect this industry. Last week another video was released of Planned Parenthood willing to protect adult men from having sex and impregnating 13 year old girls.

Lila Rose and her organization, Live Action Films , have been going undercover to expose Planned Parenthood for who they truly are. This time they caught a nurse on video telling a n investigative reporter posing as a 13 year old girl to lie about her boyfriend's age. She first told her she did not want to know the age, but after being told he was 31 she told the girl to lie. Recently Students for Life of America released a similar investigative video showing the same thing.

I get letters back from people often telling me that while they support me in my pro-life views I am to o harsh on the abortion industry. I am told I should not even use terms like "abortion industry" because it unfairly represents medical clinics.

I do not apologize for one second for the way I have and will continue to portray the abortion industry. This is one of the most corrupt and deceitful industries in the world. Even if you took out the fact they are slaughtering almost 4,000 children a day, the corruption runs deep and organizations like Planned Parenthood must be stopped.

Take a look at these two videos that focus on undercover work done by Live Action Films and Students for Life of America.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLDGFzdPjBU

http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/video.aspx?v=ydprvknz6U

Bryan Kemper bryankemper@standtrue.com

Planned Parenthood and the Total Desecration of Christmas

Planned Parenthood and the Total Desecration of Christmas

As most of the Nation celebrates the birth of Christ this Christmas , in Indiana, Planned Parenthood offers gift certificates that can be used for killing your baby. Over the past several years Planned Parenthood has sold "Choice on Earth" Christmas cards and t-shirts each Christmas season. Not only are they raising money to kill babies, the card mocks the birth of Christ.

“Choice on Earth”, the name of the Planned Parenthood card, is a disgusting attempt to spread their message of death while exploiting the celebration of the birth of Christ.

Luke 2:11-14

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

The phrase “peace on earth” is based on this verse from Holy Scripture. Angels were proclaiming peace on earth and I am sure there was no thought of child killing being part of that peace.

What does the word “ choice ” mean in the context of Planned Parenthood's card? It means abortion; it is the choice to kill your baby through abortion. In essence, Planned Parenthood is celebrating Christmas by saying “abortion on earth”. It is ironic that in the day Christ was born, King Herod was having young babies murdered.

King Herod had every boy two years or under killed because of greed, pride, power, and control. These are also some of the same sins Planned Parenthood will instill in a young woman to get her to believe that she should kill her baby.

Planned Parenthood has become a modern day King Herod. They are more concerned with their own greed than the life of an innocent child.

Their greed and selfishness is more important than life itself. They make women feel like there is no other choice for their lives than abortion. They instill in them lies about how bad their lives will be if they give birth. They make them fear losing money, control over their own lives, opportunities, and happiness.

Just like King Herod, Planned Parenthood is more concerned about their own wealth, power and position in life than anything else and they want to pass that way of thinking onto young women and the world.

They are so dedicated to this evil way of thought they are willing to mock the birth of Christ and try to steal the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas is a time of joy and peace as we ponder the birth of our Savior. It is a time to promote love and life not a time to promote death and hatred.

Planned Parenthood has attempted to steal the meaning of Christmas and distort it as they ignore the very reason we celebrate.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

Happy Thanksgiving from Stand True

Happy Thanksgiving from Stand True

I know that times are tough for a lot of people, money is tight, people are afraid of where in nation is heading and not sure of what the future holds.

With that being said I believe we do have a lot to be thankful for this year. In the middle of typing the last sentence my 3 year son, Jaemison, walked in to my office to tell me about an armadillo in the cartoon he just watched. I am so thankful for the family God has blessed me with and am looking forward to child number 6 due in June.

Here at Stand True we are so thankful for all of you who support and pray for us every day. We get messages every day from young people who are excited about the work we are doing and writing to thank us. We are blessed to hear from them how God is using the work and projects of Stand True to help them be a light in their communities.

When I get e-mails from you telling me about how God has used you to witness to your friends and see them change their minds about abortion or lead them to Christ I am brought to tears. I am humbled and honored to be able to work with such amazing people and know that what we do at Stand True is saving lives and souls.

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. Every day we wake up we have a lot to be thankful for as it is a new day to love and serve God. Everyday we wake up God has given us another chance to be a Light in such a dark world and share the hope we have in Christ.

I know that not everyone will have a huge Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Many of you may be sitting down to a frozen dinner or a meal alone this year. I understand that not all of our situations may be what many people would think is something to be thankful for. The very fact that we have been given life is more than what 1/3 of this generation has been given.

When you sit down on Thanksgiving with your family, friends or whoever you spend the day with, be sure and remember that today was not promised and you have been given the gift of life. Thank God for that gift and ask Him to use you to share the Hope you have with the people He puts in your path every day. Thank your mother and father for choosing life for you, and for giving you the opportunity to love and serve God.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

Barack Obama Wants to Hear From Us - Let's Speak Up

Barack Obama Wants to Hear From Us - Let's Speak Up

Barack Obama told us in his speech on election night that he wants to hear from people who disagree with him. His transition web site has a feedback form asking for people to share their vision for his presidency with him. I think we need to speak up and let him know that we want him to protect innocent life.

Before I give you the web site to send him a message I need to make one thing very clear. I do not want anyone to use this to slam Barack Obama or send him hate mail. As much as we may disagree with his stance on life, we must also love him and share our message with love and compassion.

If you do not feel that you can send a respectful and constructive message to him, I ask that you refrain from participating in this challenge.

Here is the letter that I will be sending Barack Obama

Mr Obama

I want to congratulate you on your victory and share with you my vision for your presidency as you have requested on this site.

I want to first let you know that I did not vote for you. I am a strong believer in the sanctity of human life and I was very troubled by the comments you have made that seem to reflect a disrespect for life.

My vision for your presidency is a simple one. I want to see you stand for the rights of every single American, born and pre-born. I want to see you protect life from the moment of fertilization until natural death. I want to be able to trust that my President believes that every single human person has a right to life and is considered equal.

Mr Obama I will pray for you every day. I will pray for our Nation every day. I will pray that some day we as a Nation will end the slaughter of the innocents. I will pray that you will have the courage to stand up for social justice for the most vulnerable and innocent of our citizens, pre-born children.

Social Justice Begins in the Womb.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper

Here is the web site to send your message to Barack Obama - http://www.change.gov/page/s/yourvision

Pro-choice or Pro-abortion; is There a Difference?

Pro-choice or Pro-abortion; is There a Difference?

I can imagine that some people will start to write and chastise me for the title of this commentary before they even read what I write. It has become very apparent to me that many people don't actually read what is written and consider the points I make; they just like to tell me how wrong I am.

Last week I wrote a response to the election of Barack Obama in which I referred to him as “pro-abortion”. Some of you wrote back to tell me that I was hateful for calling him this or that I was wrong; you claimed that he is pro-choice, not pro-abortion. Some even said that he is pro-life and wants to do everything he can to reduce abortions.

Before I get into what his agenda is and why I stand by my words about his position, I want to tackle the pro-abortion or pro-choice argument or “rhetoric”, which is what this really is about.

The rhetoric war has been won for the most part by what I call the pro-abortion movement. They have themselves adopted the term pro-choice because it sounds a lot nicer than pro-abortion. I have often wondered why they have not changed another term that they use to describe themselves, “abortion rights advocates”. If they are pro-choice and not pro-abortion then why not refer to themselves as “choice rights advocates”?

Let's break down the words and examine what they mean. “Pro” obviously means that you are in support of something. Pro-gun, pro-gay rights, pro-life, pro-union; these are all terms that describe something you support. Why is it then that the term pro-abortion is not used proudly?

The term “pro-choice” should really embody all of the “pro” stances on every issue; it shouldn't just define one issue. When someone refers to themselves as pro-choice, what choice are they referring to? Abortion. So what they are saying is that they believe it is fine for someone to obtain an abortion, which makes them pro-abortion. If you believe people have the right to form and join unions even if you would never join one, you are pro-union. Would you be angry that someone referred to you as pro-union? Would you say I just believe in the choice to join a union, but I am not pro-union? Of course not.

The use of the word choice shows that it is all about the stigma of being called pro-abortion; is there a stigma if there is nothing wrong with abortion? Why would people be so opposed to being referred to as pro-abortion if abortion is perfectly acceptable?

To answer that we have to determine what abortion is. Is abortion simply the termination of a pregnancy? Is abortion just a medical procedure that removes unwanted cell masses from your body, like liposuction?

The answer to those questions is a resounding no. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, but what is a pregnancy? The Random House dictionary definition of pregnant reads: having a child or other offspring developing in the body; with child or young, as a woman or female mammal. The Cambridge Dictionary reads: of a woman and some female animals having young developing inside the womb.

Abortion is the termination or killing of a developing human person in the early stages of their life. It is that simple. We can try and sanitize it with words or phrases but that does not change what it is.

There are a lot of things that are unpleasant that people or organizations try to make less appalling by changing the words used to describe them. As a parent I am guilty of this myself. When my children need to defecate I do not use that term; I say “go potty”. Does this change the fact that they are defecating? No, it just makes it sound less gross and nasty.

That is why the pro-abortion movement wants to be referred to as pro-choice, not pro-abortion; abortion carries a stigma that they don't want to be identified with. The difference is that there is nothing wrong with defecating; it is natural and how our bodies were created to work. There is, however, something wrong with abortion; it is un-natural and destroys one of the natural functions of a woman's body.

We should not give into the sanitization of abortion; it needs to be exposed for what it is. We should not allow rhetoric to define how we describe an evil like the killing of innocent human persons.

I have often heard people say that they would love to see abortion reduced or minimized. Why? If there is nothing immoral or wrong about abortion then why would we care how many people had them? Why would we want to reduce something that is perfectly ok? If you want to reduce them then you must think there is something wrong with them; what is it that is wrong?

This is one of the ways that Barack Obama has tried to characterize himself to people. He tries to sound like he is not the pro-abortion advocate that he really is. His own words and record contradict that; what he will do as President will be dangerous and devastating to this nation and the world.

This week we have already heard that he will be reversing lifesaving Executive Orders that will result in the destruction of human life worldwide. He plans to reverse the Mexico City Policy which blocks the US Government from giving money to organizations who provide abortion in other countries. We will be paying for abortions overseas with our tax dollars. He will open up the funding of destruction of human embryos for research paid for with your tax dollars.

This is just the beginning of the destruction of human life that has been and will continue to be championed by Barack Obama. During the primary season he spoke at a Planned Parenthood event and promised them that he one of the first things he would do as President is sign the FOCA bill into law. The Freedom of Choice Act will wipe out all restrictions on abortion in this country. There will be no more parental notification, no restrictions whatsoever including the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and an increase in federal funding of abortion.

How can you say you want to reduce abortions, and wipe out every restriction there is, and fund abortion in the US and other countries with US tax dollars? The pro-life movement and, more importantly, the sanctity of human life will be set back over 30 years once Barack Obama takes the Office of President.

I have been told that speaking negatively about the President is hateful and disrespectful. I have been told that I need to support our new President and just pray for him. I agree that we need to pray for him, and pray hard. I however disagree that pointing out the truth of what he plans to do, and has promised to do is hateful in any way. I would even argue that silence would be hateful; apathy and acceptance of his plans would be disrespectful to those whose lives are in jeopardy.

I know that God is still on the throne and He is sovereign. I know that God is not worried, panicking or hiding in a corner in fear. I know that He is still our King and our only hope is in His Son, Jesus.

I also know that He commands us to “ love our neighbor as ourselves ” (Luke 10:27). When our neighbors are dying by the thousands every day in this nation, we have an obligation to stand up and fight for their lives. God calls us to “ rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter ” (Proverbs 24:11).

I will not cheapen the sanctity of life or sanitize the pro-abortion movement by using the term pro-choice. I will not sit quietly by as my brothers and sisters are being slaughtered in abortion mills every day. I will pray for, but not support, our President as he opens the floodgates and destroys all regulations and restrictions against the killing of innocent children.

Logic 101

A fetus is a human being.

Killing a human being is wrong.

Abortion is killing a human being.

Abortion is wrong.

To say you are pro-choice but not pro-abortion, is simply illogical.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

Will Our Passion Turn Back To Apathy After The Election?

Will Our Passion Turn Back To Apathy After The Election?

One of the most positive things I have seen from this election is passion. There seems to be something about this election, more than any other I have seen in my time, which brings out a passion in this generation. The unfortunate thing about this is that it also sheds light on the apathy that has plagued us for so many years.

Most of my friends know that I am not your typical “right wing voter”. I have not voted for a major party for President in the last three elections. I have always said that I vote more for whom or what I believe in, than just to win or beat the other party. I personally don't believe that either of the mainstream political parties truly represents my beliefs very much at all.

This election for me is different from any of the other ones I have been involved with. I honestly believe that there is more at stake than any other time I can remember and I have wrestled more than I ever have about whom to vote for. Some may even say that I am compromising or being somewhat pragmatic when I never have before.

As much I am not a pragmatist, I have to look at the reality what could actually happen in the next four years. I believe in my heart that we could see a devastating attack on life and innocent children like we have never seen before.

Knowing how much this election has troubled me and how it has affected my vote more than any other, I also see what it has done to this generation. I have seen an awakening of passion, commitment, drive, boldness and pure excitement that I have not seen before. I have seen this on both sides of the political coin, and I am ecstatic about this. In an age when apathy seems to flow through the veins of America's youth, we are seeing action take over.

I talked to some friends the other day about some of the political talk I have been hearing around town. I told them about people wanting to fly their flag upside down if a certain candidate was elected. You may think that is disrespectful to the flag, but is actually is an accepted signal for a nation in distress; there is no disrespect in this action.

I decided to see what kind of reaction I would get if I posted this idea on Facebook. I simply changed my status to this and let the fireworks begin. Now I post a lot of things on Facebook, from contests to win free stuff to praise reports about what God has done through our ministry at Stand True. I was guessing that this would cause a stir, but would not reach the fever pitch that I get when I post that I will be giving away free stickers. Boy was I wrong.

Just one political comment brought out the passion in everyone and my status became a heated discussion in no time. I sat and watched people speaking out and engaging in discussion about something that meant so much to them. I got private e-mails from people who thought I was being a bad Christian witness for talking about flying my flag upside down. It was awesome; people were passionate.

I am not going to tell you who to vote for. I am going to beg you to vote. However I am not just talking about this election; I am talking about your life. I hate the fact that after an election so many people seem to shrink back into their apathy and just ride out the next four years until we get to cast another vote. Why can't this passion and action last past Election Day?

The results of this election will have an effect on everyone, no matter the outcome. Foreign policy, the economy, abortion, health care and so many more issues will be affected by who is the White House, but one thing will not. On January 20 th , when our new President is inaugurated, one thing will remain the same. God will still be on the throne and His sovereignty will not remain intact. God does not fear any Presidential administration and He can and will work in our nation no matter who sits in the White House.

No matter who ends up in the White House this January, we should not let this passion we have die down. People seem to think that depending on who wins things like abortion, hunger, poverty, war or anything we are concerned about will be magically fixed by our next President. They will not.

Imagine if we saw the same passion and action we are seeing towards this election being focused on feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, standing for the voiceless or sharing the Gospel of Christ. What if all the volunteers from all the campaign offices of both parties decided to spend the same amount of time at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, homes for unwed mothers or youth outreaches? What if the amount of money that everyone donated to the candidates was not being donated to charities and ministries?

I want to issue a challenge everyone who is reading this. Have you volunteered, donated money or spent time talking to people about either candidate? Why not do the same when the election is over? Volunteer in your community and make a difference. Donate to a charity or ministry so they can continue to help people. Tell people about getting involved; don't let apathy take over this generation again.

More important than anything else is our passion for Christ. While a President may affect our lives here on earth, it is eternity that is most important. No politician can assure us of anything when it comes to eternity, only Christ's Blood can give us the hope we need. Imagine if we had the same passion for sharing the Gospel of Christ, as we do for sharing why our candidate is so important.

Deny apathy and embrace passion.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

What To Say To A Woman Considering Abortion - Words and Reactions for the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity

What To Say To A Woman Considering Abortion - Words and Reactions for the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity

I am often asked what people should say to a woman who is considering abortion. I wish there were a magic answer that I could give that would help change the mind of every woman thinking about aborting her baby, but there is not. As you take a stand next Tuesday during the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity there will be times when talking is necessary. Not just next Tuesday, but any time you participate in pro-life activism there are important things to remember.

When answering this question I also have to address what not to say. I have stood outside abortion mills for over 18 years praying and protesting and I have even been arrested many times for praying in front of the doors. I have watched thousands of women walk into abortion mills and seen many different approaches by pro-lifers trying to save the babies.

The first mistake I see is anger. Pro-lifers can become so angry about abortion that they sometimes take it out on the women and just scare them right into the abortion mill. I have heard people call women murderers, whores, Jezebels, devil worshipers, and so much more. I have seen anti-abortion protesters so angry that they actually spit while they scream at people. I have never once seen this kind of behavior convince a women to stop and talk and change her mind.

I will admit that in the early years I used to scream and wave signs in people's faces. I let the frustration get to me as I watched these many young girls being taken in to the abortion mill by their parents or boyfriends. I would see the boyfriends leave and go to get food and sit in the parking lot and eat and smoke while their child was being killed inside that building. I let the frustration get to me and began to rely on myself for results instead of relying on God.

I want to make it clear that not all people that go to abortion mills to minister and pray act like this. We at Stand True strongly encourage people to go to the abortion mills for prayer and witnessing. There are highly effective ways of reaching women and helping them to make the right decision.

When a woman is going to an abortion mill she is usually scared and frustrated. She believes there is no other option for her other than abortion and there is no one to help her. These girls do not need someone yelling at them and telling them how evil they are; they need someone to love them and let them know how precious they are in God's eyes. They need someone to address their needs, not just the baby's needs. They need someone to approach them in the same way Christ would approach someone who was hurting and scared and about to make a huge mistake.

The first thing we tell people if they are going to try to talk to girls entering abortion mills is to not be holding a sign or wearing pro-life messages on their shirts. You should be dressed very friendly so you won't immediately scare the women away. We believe the first words to a woman entering the mill should be geared towards her and how she is doing, not just about the baby. Let her know you care about her.

The most powerful thing you can do when going to the abortion mill is pray. There is nothing more effective than prayer. When we go to our local abortion mill we spend the first hour as a group reading the Bible out loud, not shouting, but just reading out loud the Word of God. We then walk around the building praying for the women, the doctor, the nurses, the escorts, and everyone involved. We also look for opportunities to witness and share, not only with the women going in, but with the escorts and whoever is around. Not calling them names or condemning them to hell, but sharing Christ's love with them.

These ideas and principles are not just for the abortion mill, but for our every day life when we run into situations like this. Situations like the ones you may run into on the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity. I recently read an article about a young girl at a Catholic school who got pregnant and was told she could not walk the stage at her graduation, while the young man was allowed to. Not only was this total hypocrisy, but it was a dangerous way to treat this young girl. It is exactly that kind of reaction and treatment of girls that drive them to abortion.

Our words, especially our first words, to a girl who gets pregnant can determine the path she takes and can be the difference between life and death. As a father of three daughters I do wonder how I would react if one of my daughters came home one day and told me she was pregnant. What would I say? Would I blow up and lose my temper? Or would I love her no matter what mistake she made?

When we go to God in prayer and confess our sins, do you think He screams and yells and has a huge fit? I don't think so. Do you think he yells at us and tells us how horrible we are, and how much of a disgrace we are to the family? I don't think so. When we go to Him, He is faithful to love and forgive us. I pray that I never have to go through this with my daughters, but if I do, I pray that my first words to her are those of love.

Yes, we do know that abortion is the act of killing a human person and can never be permitted. Yes, we know that abortion is a sin and is detestable in God's eyes. Yes, we know that we need to stand up against this evil and be there to try to help people from making such a tragic and horrific mistake. But more importantly than all of that, we know those people need Christ and we need to love them as Christ would.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Don't forget to register at the web site http://www.silentday.org

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

God Gives My Wife and Me Another Blessing - His Heritage

God Gives My Wife and Me Another Blessing - His Heritage

Psalm 127 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are the children of one's youth.

5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;

          They shall not be ashamed,

But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

It always breaks my heart when I hear pregnancy talked about in a negative way or referred to as a burden. I have often heard negative remarks when I have told people about my wife having another child, even from family members. I look at each of my children as a blessing from God, a heritage from Him, and once again He has chosen to bless us with another precious child.

Carrie is pregnant with number 6, due some time in early June. I am as excited with this new baby as I have been with all of our children. I am already bugging my wife with all of my crazy ideas for names. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas; I just can't wait to hold my new baby.

Please pray for Carrie and me (especially Carrie) as we take this journey towards the birth of our new baby. There will be a lot of things the kids and I will need to do to help Carrie as we prepare for a new member of the Kemper Family.

One of the most important things we will need prayer for is finances as we do not have health insurance. Stand True does not have enough money to pay for health insurance so we will have to raise the money separately to pay for the midwife. I know that God will provide; He always does.

For Christ I stand,

Bryan Kemper and the Kemper Family - bryankemper@standtrue.com

Tough Questions: Christians should be spreading the Gospel, not worrying about political issues like abortion.

Tough Questions: Christians should be spreading the Gospel, not worrying about political issues like abortion.

I cannot tell you how many pastors throw this at me as an excuse for not getting involved with pro-life work or even talking about it from the pulpit. It actually surprises me that a pastor would even try to justify his apathy and lack of involvement in standing up for life.

Obviously we all know that as a Christian s our main focus is to spread the Gospel and share the hope we have in Christ. We are commanded to “ Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

The idea that taking a stand for the almost 4,000 children that are being ripped limb from limb every day by surgical abortion is contrary to the Gospel , is simply ludicrous. In fact, I would say that when we do not stand up for the voiceless or love our neighbor as ourselves, we are not truly preaching the Gospel.

I remember one pastor in particular who told me that I had no business telling anyone that abortion was wrong. He said I should only tell people about Jesus and nothing else. I laid out a situation for him to answer using his logic. What if you came upon a man beating a woman in an alley? Would you walk up to the man and tap him on the shoulder and tell him about Jesus or would you first stop the man from beating the women and make sure she was taken care of?

He tried to wiggle out of answering the question at first but eventually said he would first stop the man from harming the woman and make sure she was ok. I asked him why he would not just tell them man about Jesus and not worry about his behavior? He said because the woman was in imminent danger and needed to be rescued.

The fact is we are also called in Scripture to “Deliver those who are being taken away to death. And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, "See, we did not know this," Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts?” Proverbs 24:11-12

We are also called to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27

We can also look at Matthew 25 where we are taught that when we do not feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty and clothe the naked then we are not doing that for Christ. I could fill this commentary with pages of Scripture references that would show us that preaching the Gospel is more than just mere words.

When babies are being killed by the thousands every day, are we loving our neighbor as ourselves when we ignore this? Is our neighbor just the guy who lives next door? Did the Good Samaritan stop to see if he knew the man in the ditch or ask God if he was called to a ditch ministry before he helped the man? No, he saw his fellow human person in distress and he stopped and helped him.

So many people tell me that their pastor will not talk about abortion from the pulpit. They don't want to talk about political issues or possibly offend anyone in the church.

Here is a question I would ask them: if you were told as you were walking up to the pulpit to deliver your sermon that a man with a knife was heading to the nursery to stab all the children in the nursery, would you warn people from the pulpit or would you say that the pulpit is only for preaching the Word ? Of course they would warn people, I don't know a single pastor in the world who would not jump up and immediately warn everyone about the danger the children were in.

If that same pastor were told before his sermon that they were opening a new abortion mill down the street where about 20 babies a day were going to be aborted daily, would he feel the same urgency to warn his congregation about the danger facing those children?

Most of the time it would have to go through some kind of committee or vote to see if the church wanted to have some kind of official outreach to that abortion mill. There would be so much red tape that it may take a year to even get an announcement in the bulletin about a possible ministry team being formed.

Are the children that would die in the nursery more valuable than the children that would die in the abortion mill? Why are we not just as horrified about children being killing in an abortion mill as we would be about children being killed in a church nursery?

There is no excuse for the apathy and lack of involvement of the church when it comes to abortion. We have allowed the government to politicize abortion to the point that we just don't pay attention any more. We are more than happy to let our votes on Election Day be our only action we ever take as we leave it up to politicians who never deliver on their promises.

Preaching the Gospel is not just leaving cheesy Bible tracts with a lousy tip on the table at Applebee's after church. Preaching the Gospel is not just saying “ Jesus loves you” to your friends as work after laughing at all their dirty jokes. Preaching the Gospel goes far beyond our words and must also include action. Feeding the poor, giving water to the thirsty and yes, speaking up for the voiceless IS preaching the Gospel.

What do you think?

To read all of the Tough Questons Series, go to www.standtrue.com and click on the "educate yourself" section.

For Christ I Stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

Tough Questions Series - What Would The Punishment Be If Abortion Were Illegal?

Tough Questions Series - What Would The Punishment Be If Abortion Were Illegal?

This is probably one of the toughest questions to answer as a pro-lifer and I fully expect to receive a lot of hate mail about this commentary. I have had this discussion with many people who have solid pro-life views, yet are confused as to how they feel about the laws and punishment when it comes to abortion. People ask me what happens to the women and doctors if we overturn Roe. vs Wade.

My first response is that the end goal of the pro-life movement is over turning Roe vs Wade. We absolutely want that to happen, however, that is only the first step. Overturning Roe will only send the decision back to the individual states for them to pass laws. Most likely any law passed by a state will then be challenged in court and end up right back to the Supreme Court.

The end goal is to establish that life begins at the moment of fertilization. This will only be achieved with a paramount Human Life Amendment to the Constitution. With a Human Life Amendment we can establish the starting point in a human persons life that cannot be challenged by any court. This will give children in the womb the same rights and protections under the Constitution as any other human person.

This is where the dilemma of the question begins. Do you truly believe that a child in the womb is a full human person? Do you believe that the unborn child is equal in value as a three year old child playing on a playground? As a pro-life advocate I do not see how you could answer no to either of those questions.

The core of the pro-life argument is that every single human person from fertilization to natural death should be protected. If we say that the child in the womb is a human person and that their life is already begun, then how can we say they should not be protected equally?

The problem comes when we look at this from the wrong direction. Whenever I debate someone who is defending abortion the first thing they try and do is steer the argument onto rabbit trails. They will bring up all of the emotional situations and try to only argue from the extreme cases. They do this because they know if they can tug the heart strings of those in the audience they can sway them and distract them from the truth.

The same thing happens when I discuss the issue of punishment for abortion with pro-lifers. They talk about the desperate women who knows it is illegal but can't afford her baby? They ask if she should really be held accountable for just trying to make a hard decision? We have no way of knowing what is going on in her life or what she is going through.

I admit there is an emotional element to this that can blur the issue. I know that no one wants to go throwing thousands of women in prison. It is sincerely a tough question.

Lets change the direction we look at this however. Just like in my debates against pro-abortion advocates, I would steer away from the distractions and focus on the core issue. What is abortion? Abortion is the killing of a human person. Just like stabbing a three old on a playground is killing a human person, stabbing a baby in the womb is also killing a human person.

If we establish a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution declaring that children are full human persons from the moment of fertilization, then we must treat them as such.

When the woman in Texas drowned her five children several years ago, what was your thought on her punishment? Did you believe because she had some rough times at home she should be excused from what she did? The fact is, she killed her five children and had to answer to the law. While we might feel sorry for her emotional state, we must also want justice for the five children who were killed.

In the same way, we must look at the children in the womb as equal in value as the children who were drowned and demand justice for them also. We can certainly feel empathy for what a woman might be going through, however, that cannot change the fact that she has broken the law and ended the life of her child. We know there is forgiveness is Christ, but justice must also be served.

If we make a separate law and separate punishment for someone who has an abortion then we are saying that the child in the womb is somehow not as valuable then any other human person killed. If we say that intentionally killing one child is less of a crime then intentionally killing another child, then our whole argument for life is destroyed.

I know many of you are probably upset right now or even confused or torn about what you think. I understand completely. I have spent 17 years thinking about this question and going over every possible way to look at it. The one constant thing that I always come back to is the fundamental right to life of every human person, and I will not stop fighting until every child is protected.

What do you think?

For Christ I Stand,

Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com

Stand True Mourns Our 5 Year Anniversary

Stand True Mourns Our 5 Year Anniversary

Most organizations would want to celebrate their fifth year as an organization. While I am excited about what God has done with Stand True over the last 5 years, I am not excited that we have to exist. With every passing year, that is another year that children in the womb are not protected as human persons.

I want to thank all of you who have been supporting this ministry, both financially and through your prayers. God has used us to change hearts and save lives. We have seen so much growth in the Christ centered pro-life movement and we are looking forward to continuing the work God has set before us.

Here are just a few things God has done over the past five years.

The Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity has grown into one of the biggest pro-life events in the world. Last year, students from more than 4,600 campuses in 19 countries participated in the event. This year we already have more than triple the registrations we had at this time last year.

The National Mother's Day Baby Shower has helped provide much needed resources for homes for unwed mothers and crisis pregnancy centers.

We have built a network of tens of thousands of pro-life youth that are dedicated and passionate about bringing an end to the abortion holocaust and building a culture of life. We have been able to educate, equip and activate them through our use of the internet. Stand True's use of social networking has been unparalleled and was the subject of a thesis for a UCLA grad student last year. Just this week, we launched our own social networking site just for pro-lifers to help them connect with others across the nation. See site at - www.standtruefamily.com

We have developed a line of pro-life, chastity and modesty clothing, educational resources and tools for young people that are relevant to this generation. Through the use of original artwork, photography and graphic art done by this generation, we can reach young people with a message that is both educational and cool.

Stand True is a pro-life movement that young people can connect with and take ownership of. We provide them with material, education and events that they can participate in and reach their generation with. We are able to communicate with this generation in a way that they understand and relate to.

We are developing literature that deals with all of the tough questions they will face about pro-life in a way that is simple, logical and easy to grasp. We are answering the questions that they have, not just what we want to tell them.

You have stood with Stand True for five years now and we are grateful for your support. We also need your help to enter into the next five years at full speed. If you have believed in our work enough to support us financially, do you believe in us enough to ask your friends and family to support this work?

We have set a goal this year to gain 200 more supporters of $30 a month. These can be individuals, youth groups, families, churches, businesses or anyone. We want to hire two full time people in the next year to help make this growth possible. We also need to buy a second van and trailer to extend the summer outreach to the west coast. We are also going to attempt to tour with the largest secular concert festival in the nation, Warped Tour. Imagine how amazing it would be to have a pro-life booth at every stop of this concert tour.

We just purchased a dedicated web server today to help us expand our online capabilities. We have been working with one of the best web designers to develop our web sites and expand our capabilities on the internet. We have had custom web engines built for the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity web site that enabled students from all over the world to register instantly. We are just beginning to tap into the resources that are available online to help in this work.

Our promise to you for the next five years is to never give up or slow down in this fight. We know it is a hard and uphill battle but we are committed to seeing an end to abortion and a culture of life established in this country. Please continue to pray for us and the work at hand.

If you would like to receive our monthly support letter through the mail, please send your mailing address to info@standtrue.com

We are also starting a special e-mail version of our support letter that will go out once a month to help us save money on postage and printing. If you would like to get that seperate support e-mail, please send the e-mail address you would like us to use to info@standtrue.com

For Christ I Stand,
Bryan Kemper - bryankemper@standtrue.com
