It is always very sensible to have some sort of receptacle for collecting Cards and monetary gifts. Sadly cards and vouchers get lost at weddings. Sometimes the temptation is too great and cards with vouchers or cash go missing.

It’s horrible to think the worse but this can happen! I have personal experience of a Bride and Groom opening a card from an Aunt, who gave them £50.00 cash, she suggested they open it as she wanted to make sure they had received it! The Bride thanked her Aunt, put the money back in the card and then inside the envelope and left it with the other cards on the table, the money was stolen! How sad was that? Most wedding Gifts were ordered on line but this lady didn’t trust Computers so gave cash instead – which is very common for elderly Guests!

It was a very busy show and we were pleased to welcome everyone who stopped to visit our stand and also our Past Brides who came to see us and to look at photographs of their wedding receptions.

The interest was as predicted; the traditional fresh floral arrangements and table decorating sets which were very well received. As too was the ever popular balloon table topiary tree with feathers.

There were lots of general questions about wedding planning and our renounced design and decoration service and lots of interest in the items for hire. But the most popular items by far were the new foam flower bouquets. Many Brides and their Friends were fascinated by them and couldn’t help themselves picking them up and smelling them!

Things are busy at the moment preparing for the wedding exhibition in Milton Keynes. 30th January – Sunday 1st February. You will find us in our usual spot, outside John Lewis main entrance in Milddleton Hall. This year will be taking a selection of foam floral work and some balloons novelties for your perusal, along with our signature items.

We are also pleased to launch our new online Wedding Boutique this Friday and we will also have details of the vast selection of items for hire, from glass vases to full sized lit Topiary trees on our other sister site, Rainbow Weddings.

In this time of financial hardship for many of us, it is helpful to offer some creative inexpensive ideas for your wedding – so go on let someone else worry about the details.

Pop in and say Hello! Look forward to seeing you next weekend.

As professionals we use various technical terms to describe different balloon bouquets, sculptures and centre pieces.
Some examples:

String of pearl arch
A series of balloon attached to line which form an arch over a top table, cake table, and present table or even up a stair case.
String of pearl arches adds a soft and romantic feel to your reception area. These are normally made using latex balloon to match your colour scheme. However you can use the foil balloons or have a double bubble to crown the arch.

The Rainbow team have unfortunately had to pull out of this year NABAS annual balloon conference in Warwickshire this weekend, due to illness within our team. Sue had major surgery last month and we are pleased to say she is progressing well.

We will all miss the opportunity of learning new skills and networking with other professionals at this great event. However the whole team are already booked in for the 2009 extravaganza.

Therefore we are sorry and apologise for the lack of recent blogs being posted by the rainbow team.
