4. Gamers who fall in between the two defined above will find solace in the Playstation 3. Most games worth playing on this console are also featured on the 360, but this console doubles as a good Blu-Ray player and web browser. Sony also included a feature similar to the 360 achievements, and it follows the same rules except they are called trophies and are rated bronze, silver, gold and platinum rather than having a numerical value.

1. Open an umbrella, holding it so one of the support ribs points toward the ground and another points straight up, with the handle facing away from you.

2. Cut four pieces of duct tape, each piece in the length of four inches long. While looking at the top of the umbrella, note how you can see where the ribs raise the fabric on the inside of the umbrella. Place one piece of tape vertically over the top of the spindle so two inches of the tape cover the lower part of the upper rib protrusion and the upper part of the lower rib protrusion. The center spindle should lie at the exact center of the tape. Apply one more piece of tape on the top rib protrusion so the bottom edge of the tape rests against the top of the center spindle, and apply one more piece of tape on the bottom rib protrusion so the top edge of the tape rests against the bottom of the center spindle. Apply the fourth piece of tape exactly centered over the center spindle, just as you did with the first piece of tape. Two pieces of tape should span the spindle with the rib protrusions bisecting the tape down the center length of each piece, one piece of tape should span above the center spindle with the rib protrusion through its center, and one piece should lie below the center spindle so you can see the rib protrusion raising its center.

3. Measure one inch above the center spindle, along the visible rib protrusion seen through the tape, and then cut two adjacent vertical half-inch-long slits through the tape and the umbrella fabric using a razor knife—one slit exactly half an inch to the left of the rib protrusion and the other exactly half an inch to the right of the rib protrusion. Cut one more set of vertical slits another two inches above the first set, so you have two sets of slits above the center spindle. Cut two pairs of vertical slits below the center spindle using the same measurements.

4. “Fish-hook” zipper ties through each set of slits/piece of tape so that each tie loops around the metal rib on the inside of the umbrella. The two ends of each zipper tie end should stick out the top of the umbrella.

5. Hold the dowel along the rib so that a four-inch length extends above the center spindle and the rest of its length lies below the center spindle. Close the zip tie ends around the wooden dowel and zip them closed tightly, forming a sturdy handle.

6. Connect your microphone to the umbrella’s handle (not the wooden exterior handle) using an additional zip tie so the microphone head itself points toward the curved interior of the umbrella, and slip the microphone plug through one of the holes in the umbrella fabric where one of the zip ties loops through. Zip tie the microphone wire along the umbrella’s metal handle to prevent snagging the wire on trees or brush.

7. Connect the microphone wire and your set of headphones to your audio recorder. Aim the parabolic microphone toward your first subject, and enjoy your naturally amplified recording abilities.

Health care reform, health care vote results and US House of Representatives votes. With a vote of 220-215, Congress passed a 10-trillion-dollar health care reform plan late Saturday that would extend health coverage to more than 36 million uninsured Americans.

Democrats and one Republican, Joseph Cao from Louisiana, in the House of Representatives narrowly passed the legislation which is the most sweeping change to the nation’s health care system in a half-century.The bill would create a government-backed insurance plan to compete with private firms and would end denial of coverage based on preexisting medical problems.It also included a controversial amendment to restrict coverage of abortion.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from California said, shortly after the vote, that President Barack Obama congratulated lawmakers for the “great victory for the American people.” Obama had met with lawmakers in Congress early Saturday to lobby Democratic allies to pass the bill, but 39 still joined 176 of the House Republicans in opposition to the proposal.”We are proud of our success and we are proud of the American Congress,” Pelosi said after the vote.

1. Write or find a great script:
One of the most overlooked aspects of independent film making is the script. Big name actors or no name actors will not make a bad script into a good movie. Get a script that isn’t black and white in its conflict and characters. Reality is just a bunch of shades of gray; people expect a movie to be the same.

2. Get a decent camera:
You cannot make a good film with a lousy camera. Investigate cameras online and find out what you need to make a good shot. Invest the most of your money that you have for the movie in the camera.

3. Film it:
One thing to remember about a low budget film is the low budget. The thing that wastes the most money when making a film is time. You usually have some equipment rented, you might be paying actors for their time and the more time you spend filming, the less time you have to sell it. Don’t waste time planning and plotting unnecessarily. Get it done!

4. Sell it:
It used to be that to sell a film you had to send a copy of it to every film distribution company by mail. Well, you still do. Talk to everyone you can. E-mail everyone you can. Get your film into everyone’s hands that you can. Use the internet to your advantage and put the first five minutes of your film on Youtube. Do anything you can to drum up interest in your movie.
