The Microgaming Bad Beat Jackpot went off line on March 6th in order to prepare for the new bad beat jackpot promotion. It´s now back again, but the Bad Beat Jackpot tables that used to be available across the network are gone. Now all Texas Hold'em tables will have the option to opt into the Bad Beat Jackpot.

Players on this network (sites such as Betsafe Poker and Betsson Poker) will be given the option to post a €.02 ante to participate in the jackpot. Any player that opts in will be able to share in the jackpot when it is released. The Microgaming Bad Beat Jackpot will be released when an opted in player loses 2222x or better to another player that opted in when both players use both hole cards.

The losing player will receive 40% of the jackpot.
The winner will receive 20%.
Players that are opted in at the table will share 10%.
Players at the same limit at other tables will share 10%.
The next Bad Beat Jackpot will be seeded with the remaining 20%.

€50,000 will be given away in a single tournament in Betsafe Poker Black! To qualify for the €50,000 Leaderboard Tournament players need to play a minimum of 1000 raked hands from 00:01 CET on the 1st of February until 23:59 CET on the 28th of February. In addition to the cash prizes Betsafe are also adding 2 x €2500 WSOP Packages to the prize pool, one to the winner of the tournament and one to the player who plays the most raked hands during the qualification period.

All players that qualify for the €50K Leaderboard Tournament will start the tournament with a chip stack matching the earned raked hands in the leaderboard. Merge Network Will End All Rakeback Deals

Merge Gaming Network has once again decided to stop offering rakeback from February 1st, 2013. This time they are ending rakeback deals for ALL players, even existing players that already have rakeback.

Back in June 2011 Merge Network also ended rakeback, but at that time, existing players were allowed to keep their rakeback deals. That is not the case this time. All players will move to the VIP program on February 1st, 2013. At the moment the VIP cashback program offers upto 40%.

This might be bad news for players with rakeback, but we have been told that the VIP program will be changed, and better bonuses and promotions will be available, so hopefully it all evens out. When we have got more details on the new Merge Gaming Network VIP programs and promotions we will the updates right away!
