Well its here at last. In a few hours the Americans will vote in the presidential election. All the indications are that it is a dead heat. There is a chance that it will work out to be slightly less close than the polls show due to their margin of error. A program on BBC2 last night entitled "Do You Still Believe in Blair ?". It interviewed many of those so called "celebrities" that he had mated up with so convincingly in the past. Most of them were of course now all lining up to be the first to disown brand Blair claiming they felt "let down". Just a week ago we had Greg Dyke doing something similar. Poor souls.

I have recently discovered http://www.monbiot.com. A website belonging to the author of Captive State and other books. It contains plenty of interesting and thought provoking articles of his from the last 10 years or so. I would highly recommend giving it a go.

Every two years in September i find myself becoming hopelessly addicted to watching golf. Not just any golf though no no this is the Ryder Cup...for some reason that makes all the difference. I don't watch golf at any other time and hardly ever play - maybe two rounds in as many years. I think its something to do with the fact that the golfers are playing in teams, it seems more exciting that way

Having not done anything in PHP for about a year (Java for uni taking up most of my time) i have only just started looking at PHP 5. Im amazed by SQLLite the embedded database engine. I also like the look of the improved XML support, particularly the DOM API.

What a charade this event has become. Is it actually worth the parliamentary time anymore ? I enjoy watching The Daily Politics on BBC2 when im at home during the day but that half an hour slot that they use to show PMQ's is hardly worth bothering with.
