Herbalife: Is it gross or good?

So what is the deal with this Herbalife stuff everywhere? Does it really work? Is it a scam? Does it taste gross?

So I tested it out! I definitely think taste wise it depend on the person and the flavor you get. I got the Cookies n' Cream shake. The first time I tried it, I only used water, ice, and the mix and it had a cookies n' cream/vanilla taste, but it also had a hint of protein powder taste. The next time I made it with vanilla almond milk and it was sooo good! I also read suggestions to add a banana, and that sounds even better and would make you fuller for longer!

Overall, I would definitely try this again. I really want to try out more flavors next time! My recommendation is to try out the 3-day trial pack and see how it works for you. There are so many people who can attest to it changing their lives and helping them kickstart their weightloss journey.

Remember the goal is to be healthier, to be happier! And don't forget to take it one day at a time. We all struggle (me and tacos are lovers), but finding alternatives to the things you love, like milkshakes, is a great idea!

Feeling pretty pink in my multiple shades. This is an easy go-to color scheme when you want to bring color to an outfit, but don't want to think a lot about what to wear. Since my closet is organized by color it makes it super simple for me to choose this semi-monochromatic look. If you have the extra time I highly suggest color coordinating your closet as it will save you tons of time when getting ready.

Using different shades of the same color is my favorite outfit color combination by the way!

one pan zucchini spaghetti

One Pan Zucchini Spaghetti

1 cup of raw zucchini noodles (zoodles) - I bought mine from the grocery store already spiralized
1 cup of raw spinach
1 cup of spaghetti sauce - I used Ragu Chunky Mushroom and Green Pepper for extra added vegetables
1 oz of ground turkey- about 1 turkey burger patty (if you want to make it from ground turkey patties)
1 tbsp of chopped purple onion - Optional
1 tbsp of mozzarella cheese - Optional

1 Serving - 331 Calories (including mozzarella)

1. Cook ground turkey and onion in pan on medium/high heat. Add in seasoning of your liking while. I added about 2 tsp of Tony Creole Seasoning (my favorite!). Cook until there is no pink on the meat and the onions have a transparent appearance. I cooked my ground turkey and onions in a non-stick pan and did not need oil, but if you do not have a non-stick pan you can use a small amount of oil or water just be sure to drain the meat after.

2. Add in zoodles and reduce heat to medium/low.

3. After zoodles have cooked for about a minute, add in spaghetti sauce and spinach. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until zoodles become tender.

4. Serve noodles with optional mozzarella cheese while warm so cheese becomes melty, gooey, goodness.

5. Enjoy!

Protein Pancakes

Hello 2018!

I'm back and with a healthy recipe! Pancakes are my favorite and I didn't want to give up my favorite breakfast food to compensate my new healthy lifestyle goals (7 pounds down by the way!). So after a few trial runs, I have found a delicious and filling pancake to satisfy my breakfast sweet tooth cravings! I usually make these on Sunday and refrigerate them to eat throughout the week for breakfast. They also freeze great if you want to make a giant batch! Just simply reheat in the microwave and the chocolate chips will get all melty and gooey. Yum! Let me know in the comments your favorite healthy breakfast food!

Recipe:

1/3 cup rolled oats - can add more to make a thicker batter
1 medium/large banana
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder - for fluffy pancakes
1 teaspoon of olive oil butter - for the pan. can use coconut oil or any cooking spray
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of chocolate chips - optional. can use fruit instead
2 tablespoons of maple syrup - optional

Makes 6 small/medium pancakes. Calories per pancake (including butter and syrup): 101.

1. Blend banana, oats, eggs, baking powder, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in blender.
2. Mix in chocolate chips by hand until nicely blended.
3. Heat medium sized non-stick pan on medium heat with olive oil butter until melted.
4. Pour small/medium sized pancakes into pan and cook like normal pancakes.
5. Add syrup on top. Devour!

Pocket are Everything

I absolutely love anything with pockets! When my mom found me this skirt not only is it cute, it has POCKETS! I only utilize the pockets for my phone, but I love having the option or just to pose with my hands in my pockets.

I wore this outfit to the first sessions of the business conference I attended with my job last week. Not only was this outfit stylish and professional, it was also very comfortable which is important when your days are 9-10 hours long in a conference room.

P.S. I had pocket full of sunshine stuck in my head the entire time while writing this. Now it's stuck in yours. You're welcome :)

Last week I went on a trip with my job to a business conference and had a great time!

I got a chance to dress up in business casual everyday and I loved it! I will be posting some of my favorite looks from the conference this week. The look above was from my plane ride into Arizona, where the conference was held It was a perfect combination of comfy and cute. My blanket scarf doubled as an actual blanket (pro traveling tip). I definitely suggest this outfit for longer flights as well as with some added leggings to keep you cozy and cute the entire flight.

Casual School Spirit

On Fridays at my job it is causal and we are encouraged to wear the school colors (orange and blue) at the University I work at. Coffee and comfy, need a better combination? I think not.

Thank you to my mom who gifted me the Ninja Coffee Bar for Christmas and I am so in love with it! Also, thank you to my sweet coworker for this adorable Kate Spade coffee mug (she also is my amazing photographer for my blog and constantly keeps me laughing). Does it seem like I love coffee to you, since that is what my gift themes were? Indeed, I do love coffee and all of the superpowers it comes along with.

I am so in love with this Old Navy sweater! It can be really casual to wear out or even to just lounge around at home in.

Pro Tip: This outfit looks super cute with pointed toe heels or over the knee boots, I was just to lazy and opted for the flats today #REAL .

Well I am no longer vacationing with the sun on my skin and sand between my toes, but I am definitely ready for the next adventure!

From traveling so much last year I have learned some tips and trick to help you travel wisely:

1. As hard as it seems, don't overpack!

I am the person who thinks of everything that could happen, but trust me this will help with your load by minimizing. I planned an outfit per day plus two extra outfits that were just in case outfits. I would change up my daytime outfits with a few pieces like a leather jacket or shoes change to transition my outfit to night time.

2. Keep your luggage down to two bags.

Your shoulders and back will thank you with this one! I personally like to check my rolling back (more room) and carry on my "laptop bag." I like to have a really small cross body with my immediate things I need though (phone, ID, Passport, charger, liquids- sanitizer, chapstick).

3. Use your jacket as a blanket while flying.

Not only will you save space in your luggage (you'll need it, trust me), but it will double as a blanket in the often very cold plane. I also was traveling from warmer weather to colder weather, so having my jacket on me was very important upon arrival.

4. Sign up for SkyMiles.

It may seem trivial, but it will help in the long run. Those Sky miles add up and can offer some serious perks. Also, the best part is, it's free to sign up (just don't get conned into a credit card).

5. Download the airlines app.

Take advantage of the airline you are traveling with's app. I usually fly with Delta or United Airlines and they both have apps that keep you updated with your checked bag (such a brilliant idea), gate changes, boarding notifications, watching free movies/tv shows, and your boarding pass. I never print out boarding passes anymore, as I have it conveniently on my phone for the airlines and TSA to scan without having to keep track of a million papers. Pro Tip: Add it to your Apple Wallet and it will pop up automatically a few hours before boarding begins.

Extras: Wear socks through TSA. Pay a little extra and get the TSA Pre Check- it will get you through TSA in about 5 minutes or less (must book appointment a few months in advance to flight) (on my to-do list!). Invest in a iphone charging case for longer trips. Dress comfy (this outfit was so comfy, but cute).

Waving the Day Away

Happy 2017 from the oceanside!

Enjoying my vacation and a fresh start to an amazing year.

Last year was a year of ups and downs. More than anything 2016 taught me a lot of lessons. It taught me how to be comfortable alone (single), which I haven't been fully single in almost seven years. It taught me what I deserve in a relationship. It taught me how to be a better person in all all relationships. It taught me a lot about my goals and aspirations. Sorry for the delay in posts, I was elbow deep in cookie, cake, and everything in between batter last week!
