What's the fuss about strings?

So many guitarists I come across have not fully understood the importance of changing strings regularly. By "regularly", I'm not talking about once every six months... by "regularly", I'm talking about every month if you're a bedroom player, every week if you're a gigging guitarist. I'm obviously referring to uncoated strings. Coated or long life strings will obviously last longer, but we're talking another month for a bedroom player.

It dawned on me recently that the only thing different between those doing what they love and those not, is simply the "doing" part...
We have to believe that we were created just as we are, for a purpose, and that when this purpose is carried out, only then is true "doing" satisfaction experienced. This thought, is what fueled me to follow my dream of building and tweaking guitars for a living.
