Hola a todos, hace unas semanas estuve en el "Creative Festival 2011", y miren los lindísimos quilts que encontré.

Hello everyone, a few weeks ago I went to the "Creative Festival 2011". I fund all this quilts.

Y estas son mis compritas.

Este kit para haer un monedero, me encantó el azul.Creo que lo voy a convinar con un poquito de encaje.

This is what I come home with.

I fund this kit to make a little purse for my coins. I think I will add some lace to it.I love the colour.

Y este año me traje cosas para scrapbook también, como ven ya hice la prueba con algunos. Porsupuesto no podía faltar el encaje aunque ea en papel.

This year I did buy some tools for my srapbooking, you can see I did try some. The lace is present too, but to make it with paper.

Me traje también este kit ( por sólo $20, super oferta) para mis páginas con fotos de Invierno y Navidad.

I fund this kit for my Winter and Christmas's layout pages ( for just $20 ).

Tengo tantas cosas para contar...pero poco a poco se van a ir enterando.

Retomé unos de mis hobbys, el scrapbook, lo que me llevó a la tarjetería. Es así como hice esta tarjeta de cumpleaños para una compañera de la escuela de mi hijo.

I have so many things to tell...but I will go step by step.

I took back one of my hobbys, the scrapbook and I jumped to the cards. I made this card for a friend of my son.

No,no corté todo a mano, lo hice con una máquia especial para cortar papel y otros materiales finos, la máquina Cricut. Así que no es para nada difícil hacer una tarjeta.

No, I didn't cut it by hand, I used the Cricut machine. It is so easy to make it.

Hace tanto tiempo que no publico, la verdad que pasaron tantas cosas. Mi hijo que comenzó la escuela, yo encontré un trabajo de medio tiempo y dediqué más tiempo al scrapbook (otra de mis pasiones)

Mejor les muestro mi último ejercicio de randa ,digo "ejercicio" por que este tipo de punto mi abuela no me enseñó (decía que era muy difícil para yo aprenderlo en mis primeras clases,pasaron los años y nunca me lo enseñó). Después de practicar y tomar notas creo que no pasará mucho tiempo para hacer otra puntilla de este tipo.

It is true, long time pass before this post, so many things happened around here.My son started school, I have a part time job and I dedicated more time to my scrapbook projects.

Better show you my last exercise, yes,"exercise" because my grandma didn't show me how to net this stitch (she said that it was to difficult for me to do it ,the time pass and she never though it to me).After practice and notes I think I will do it again soon.

Este es el quilt que Georgina propuso en su blog, ya está terminado.

This is Georgina's quilt.

Aquí ya estaba listo para ser acolchado. No saben las veces que tuve que deshacer los "intentos" de free motion , al final me dí por vencida y termine acolchando sólo en las costuras.

Here is ready to be quilted. You don't know how many times I tryed to make the free motion quilting technique.At the end I finished with the quilt in a ditch technique.

Este es mi segundo quilt y ya estoy buscando el tercero.

This is my second quilt and I'm looking for the third one.

Algunas ya saben que soy amante de las manualidades de todo tipo.Y siempre curiosa por aprender una técnica nueva.

Bueno, fue así que tanto visitar los blog de patchwork me tenté.Georgina propuso este SAL y aquí estoy enganchada yo también.

Este es el segundo patchwork que hago y me gusta cada vez más. Tengo que confesar que me dió un poco de trabajo (y sí, soy principiante).

Some of you know that I love all kind of handmade.I always have the curiosity to learn a new technique.

It was like that how I got tempt with this beautiful thing as is the patchwork. Georgina proposed at her blog this SAL and I'm hooked too.

This is my second patchwork. My first one were made a year ago.It was too hard for me at first but I'm so glad with it!

This is one of four flowers (the better one to be posted).

Todavía estoy trabajando en el acolchado. La verdad que la técnica "free motion" todavía no es aceptada por mi máquina de coser :(

I'm still working on the quilt. The "free motion technique" hasn't be accepted by my sewing machine :(

Un libro sobre Randa/ A book about Randa

Hace unas semanas compré este libro, "La Randa,una artesanía tucumana" de Tulio S. Ottonello. Se editó en abril de este año. Trata de la historia de la Randa, de su origen. Tiene fotos de trabajos de diferentes randeras, entre las cuales encontré dos hechas por mi abuela. Lamentablemente no tienen el nombre de ella, pertenecen a la colección de alguien más.

Few weeks ago I bought this book "La Randa, una artesanía tucumana"of Tulio S. Ottonello.This is the first edition,2010.

It is about the origin and history of Randa Lace.It has pictures of works from different lace makers.I found two randas made by my Grandmother, it belong to a private collection.It is too bad they don't have her name.

La terminé ayer / I finished it yesterday

Por fin terminé este proyecto,una toalla de lino. Ya tenía la tela y no me animaba a hacer nada hasta saber bien el punto de incrustación,que se usa para unir encaje a una tela. Mi abuela nunca supo que existía esto (supongo) y yo lo aprendí del Encaje a Bolillos.

Finally I finished this project, a linen towel. I had this fabric and I just needed a bit of experience with the special stitch to add lace to a fabric. My Grandmother didn't know about this stitch (I think) and I learned from the Bobbin Lace.

Estos son algunos de mis ejercicios de encaje a bolillos. El que hice en color rosa no pertenece a la técnica de Torchon, sino a Buck point. Me confundí varias veces pero al final salió bien.

This are some of my exercises of bobbin lace.The pink one doesn't belong to the Torchon technique.It is Buck point.I had so many mistakes, just the last inch is good.

Hola a todos.

No pude postear nada antes, tuve unos problemitas con mi PC. Ahora a lo prometido.

Terminé esta Randa ovalada con un punto que parece una estrellita o flor.

I had few problems with my PC, that way I didn't post anything before.

I finished this oval Randa with a stitch which look as a star or flower.

Creo que más adelante le voy a hacer dos más,para completar un set. Pero por ahora quedará como ejemplo.

I think I will do other two to make a set. But now I will live it just like a example.

Ahora estoy tejiendo una puntilla para hacer un pañuelo, ya les mostraré en unos días.

Un pequeño ejemplo / A little example

Quiero mostrarles este pequeño ejemplo de Randa ovalada, que estoy haciendo.Si leyeron otros, se habrán dado cuenta que la randa puede tener cualquier forma geométrica.

I want to show you this little example that I'm making of a oval Randa.If you read the others post, you could see that the Randa Lace can have any geometrical shape.

No sé todavía qué voy a bordarle en el centro. Ya vendrán las musas a inspirarme...espero no se demoren.

I don't know what to embroider at the centre. I hope the muse will come to inspire me.

Comenzando el Año / Starting the Year

Comencé el Año haciendo este encaje de bolillos. Es un ejercicio del libro "Encaje de Bolillos" de Bridget M. Cook. Con este proyecto aprendí a hacer el punto de filigrana ( es el que rodea cada pétalo de la margarita).

I started the year with this Bobbin Lace project . It is a exercice from the book " The Torchon Lace Workbook " of Bridget M. Cook. With this project I learned the Scandinavian stitch.

Otro adorno y más! / Other ornament and more!

Hace unos días que quiero mostrarles esta última randa. El bordado es muy simple, ya que tejí

dos círculos y luego los monté en este globo de vidrio, que me sirvió de "bastidor".

This is my last randa lace project. The embroidery is very simple, because I knotted two circles and after I sewed it together to this glass ornament, that I used to stretch it.

Ven la línea casi derecha del medio, bueno, esa es la costura que le hice para unir los dos círculos.

Ya que es mi primer adorno de este tipo, decidí bordarle algo fácil de hacer.

Can you see the line at the middle? That is the seam which I used to put the two circles.

I decided to embroiderer a simple design because is my first ornament of this kind.

Y este un chaleco que hice para mi "corazoncito" de 3 años. Usé lana Premium Llama (super suave) y lo tejí con agujas de 6 mm.

This is a vest that I made for my 3 years old "little heart". I used Premium Llama wool and I used 6mm. needles.

No, no me olvidé que tengo un blog.

Estuve un poco enferma y ahora le toca a mi nene .Tuvo un resfriado fuerte del que está saliendo lentamente.

I were a bit sick and now is my son's turn.

Y ya que comienza el mes de Diciembre,estoy preparando randas para adornar nuestro árbol.

Por eso esta vez la bordé con hilo dorado, para darle un toque más navideño.Esta es la primera vez que lo uso y no tuve ningún inconveniente.

Because December is here, I'm preparing randas to decorate the Christmas Tree.

I use gold thread to give it a holiday look. This is my first time I used this thread and it wasn't hard to work with.

Quiero agradecer a las personas que asistieron a mi clase "Lino y Encaje" en el Creativ Festival de Toronto.

Fue una gran experiencia, nos divertimos mucho.

En cuanto a mi visita al show, siempre con falta de tiempo para ver todo lo que quería ver. Pero aproveché e hice mis compras necesarias (como dice Georgina).

Volví a casa super motivada para seguir creando y aprendiendo nuevas técnicas.

I want to say Thank you to all the people who attend my class "Linen & Lace" at the Creativ Festival in Toronto.

It was a nice experience, we had fun.

About my visit to the show, I always need more time to see everything I want to see.

But I got the time to do my necessary shopping (as Georgina says).

I came home super motivated to create and learn more techniques.

I got tempted with this magazines of Quilt.

Estos aparatitos para hacer mis propias cintas al bies.

This bias tape maker to make my own.

Encontré este diseño de LHN "The Rain Fell". Y claro, no me pude resistir a estas tijeras con flores azules.

I found this LHN design,"The Rain Fell". And I coudn't resist to buy this scissors with blue flowers.

Y ya comencé a bordar. Este es mi avnce hasta ahora. También encontré esta lupa con pie, para poder trabajar de noche (que es cuando mi nene me deja) con trabajos pequeños. Me resultó muy cómoda y estoy trabajando mucho más rápido.

And I started to work .This is my progress until now. I found this magnifier glass on a base to do my work at night (when my son is sleeping) with small designs. It is so confortable to work with.

Azul / Blue

Estoy muy contenta con este Pinkeep. Elegí el color azul para hacer el encaje, como algunas ya saben, es uno de mis colores favoritos. El diseño del encaje es muy simple.

I'm happy with this Peen keep. I choose blue colour because is one of my favorites. The lace design is so simple.

A la cinta que usé para adornar este pinkeep, le bordé el punto inglés, para sujetarla .

To place the ribbon I just embroidered the herringbone stitch.

Le hice un bolsillo para guardar mis tijeras. Le bordé mis iniciales en punto cruz, mis primeros puntos 1 sobre 1. Me encantó !

I made a pocket for my scissors. I embroidered in cross stitch my initials, my first stitches 1 over 1. And I loved it !

Y aquí les dejo una pequeña muestra de lo que estoy diseñando ahora. Se me dió por probar este hilo dorado, para bordar este trabajo.Y nunca pensé que me daría tan buen resultado.

And here I want to show part of my next project. I wont to try this gold thread, to embroider this work. And never thought it could be this good.

Hace más de una semana que terminé esta puntilla blanca. Disculpen, estoy un poco atrasada en mis posts. Además estoy tejiendo y haciendo encaje a bolillos. Siempre me engancho con algo más.

More than a week ago I finished this white point lace. Forgive me because I'm a little behind with my posts. And I'm knitting and making bobbin lace. There is always something more tempting to do.

Usé hilo de algodón blanco no. 40. Después de contar y contar puntos, pude bordar este dibujo geométrico.

I used cotton thread no. 40. After a while counting stitches, I design this geometric embroidery.
