Blogging for Money

I should be writing about Cory Aquino, SONA 2009, PLDT, UAAP, Results of the Nursing Board Exam, etc. etc....but I won't be, because I'm not much into that stuff. I would rather write about matters that I strongly believe in it like poverty reduction, human rights and environmental protection (as of). Most local bloggers who have commercialized their blogs are posting copies of the nursing board exam results to the point that such sites are search engine optimized that when Googled, it points to an individual blog rather than to the official site of the Philippine Regulatory Commission or major broadsheets like the Manila Bulletin, Inquirer or Philippine Star.

Basically, I haven't earned anything on this blog, around 24cents since I started it last month. Actually this is the purpose of this site, to test it out if I can really make money out of my blogs. Actually I did, I am already making around two US Dollars a day for my other blog Fast Food Greenwash, but I need to promote it constantly to get that kind of an income, if it gets a thousand hits per day, well I'd be a millionaire!

For the past two days, I have been eating a lot of high calorie foods like cream cheese and pasta and I haven't done much physical activity. If I continue this kind of a lifestyle, I am most likely going to end up like that fat chick on the illustration.

Its quite scary, it really bothered me honestly. Going through my friend's photograph on Facebook, I realized that some pretty chicks from the good old days of high school have already lost their aesthetic qualities...well, I think they deserve that since they once had their high school glory . days of being popular and beautiful. Karma has it that late bloomers....ahem...ahem just like me should develop our aesthetics now that we are in our thirty's.

I'm a bit scared reaching the forbidden threshold of another decade on this earth. Whatever happens of course is for a reason....what is life going to offer...well being sedentary and eating too much carbs can make you fat that's for sure!

The Unlikely Subject of Philippine Politics

I am not happy writing this but I just need some answers. Last night I dreamed about ERAP, former president Joseph Estrada, and it is not an obscene dream, I was ushering him towards a door in a hallway due to his frailty and old age and when he took my hand for support, I was so surprised at his tight grip. I never voted for ERAP and never will ever vote for him again, and I kind of spent a number of nights at the EDSA Shrine during EDSA DOS just to overthrow the old guy. That dream says only one thing...he's got a tight grip...to being the president again....God that is such a horrible dream and it is going to be a horrible future if Erap...whom I dreamed as old and frail ever comes back again to grip on that position and it seems he has learned his lesson and he has no intention of being dethroned again.

Do we really need a president? Philippine politics has always been like showbiz, new fads and passing phases but the prize is not mere fame but power. Now we hear of news of the possible backing off of Mar Roxas for Noynoy Aquino for the sake of unity. Children of former politicians whom they say are representative of the new generation not the old and frail traditional politics. But is the country truly united? People who supports Noynoy are the elite, educated and upper class who only make up a third of the population, will Cory magic work with those of the youth, the impoverished, the uneducated who are still relying on the Showbiz magic of publicity and popularity. It is a chaotic situation! Vox populi...its a shrill inaudible noise.

My other blog http://maraygirl.blogspot.com looks too melancholic. With its dark and dreary color scheme, while this one with all the ads and pictures all around the corners and other widgets seems like a happy place. When I started building this page my intention was simply to put up a marketing page, where I can post marketing stuff, selling anything, but since the most likely business that I could set up is a small consultancy firm, such look is not proper to that source of business. I just could not think too much of a business idea right now.

Thinking About Going Into the Food Business

While cooking in the kitchen, my six-year-old daughter suggested that we open a restaurant and I've realized how much that kid's got substance. Thinking about a food business idea, my daughter thought that our first venture would be naming our restaurant and since we're both girls and girls are queen, then we should name our restaurant "Queen Burger", we'll that doesn't sound like an original idea.

For once in my life, working for the fast food, going back to such an industry doesn't seem an option for me. I believe there are a lot of options out there...not just franchising some health food cart but something else....what could that be, get my pen and paper and principles going!

I could no longer recognize this page, its full of widgets and ads. Maybe the little bits of internet marketing I got from people around are indeed paying off, however, I still don't get the right keywords and I'm this page is not earning that much, a few cents maybe, I just need to promote this site.

I recently had my website: www.fastfoodgreenwash.org, I didn't really have the intention of putting it up, after what happened at JFC and how these seemingly good people are so lost in their jobs in environmental management aren't they aware that they are doing a terrible job at managing Jollibee's Environmental Impact? They even passed on their terrible work ethic to Chowking, Greenwich and Red Ribbon. There are good people in Jollibee anyway, but the company is too big to make quick actions, things will eventually work out well but in mediocrity. Now I cannot write these things on the FFG website because having your own domain available in the public eye makes it very public and may put me in trouble.

Thank God, I'm done with that mediocrity! Now I'm face with the challenge of going back to internships and volunteer work.

Sometimes, I would think, why the hell did I end up having a website called www.fastfoodgreenwash.org? I just want to write a blog about how terribly unaware corporations are about environmental management systems and their publicity stunts are what they call Greenwash!

Maybe everything happens for a reason. It seems I'm forced to write about Greenwash....not only in the fastfood. Why didn't write something about beauty products and reviews, I could have had free beauty samples?

But everything happens for a reason God knows what.

Whatever came to my mind but I got myself my own custom domain through blogger: www.fastfoodgreenwash.org it will be viewable in a couple of days. Now, I will be spending more time blogging my thoughts about greenwash particularly in the fastfood industry.

Being in the third world, I have nothing against the fastfood industry, its actually helping us economically but the problem is there are just so much environmental impacts and it seems like the person tasked to promote sustainable development in the industry is quite powerless and has no idea what the hell is he doing in that position.

Just read on...if it is still not available, the content can be viewed through fastfoodgreenwash.blogspot.com...now I'm challenged to promote this site...any contributors?

Just a thought since blogging is about putting your thoughts online. A friend has convinced me to get involved in internet marketing, by putting ads on my site but I'm a bit hesitant. My thoughts at the start about blogging were pure, a transition from the pen/paper to computer/browser. Its an avalanche of information and the actual thoughts are sometimes covered or overlooked.

As a devout Catholic, I went to confession today and I realized the priest was drunk, I can smell him. Knowing that I could sense his intoxication, he reminded me that he is very much human and so am I and that was the lesson I have to learn. That was a first. When I came home this evening, my six year old asked me how are people made. I never expect that it would come this early maybe two or more years so, but I was forced to tell her this:

"Babies are made in the laboratory, mommy and daddy have their eggs brought there combined and implanted on the mommy to be carried in the next 9 months. Remember when your blood was taken at the hospital, it was brought to the laboratory, that's also the place where babies are made"

I was the one surprised when she told me "Daddy's egg are called sperm, right?" I said "Yes baby you're right" and she looked at me with a certain air of confidence.

Improving This 21st Century Skill

I started blogging in 2007, quite late I say, but on my second year being on blogger, I have decided to move forward. Trying out a few skills in internet marketing, which I still could not decipher at the moment and getting myself familiar with the html and css codes, I am moving on to this new site aptly named Maraida's Blogspot. I have chosen to remain in blogger rather than move onto other blog hosting domains because, I have been used to this and it allowed me some flexibility.

I have written quite a number of entries for the past two years. I have been keeping a journal since I was thirteen years old but its content was quite limited to my crushes and boy bands...topics driven by a drastic change in hormonal levels during puberty. But now I write about things that ranges from my relationships, my career and my faith.

I don't feel that comfortable moving on with respect to this site, I was so used with the maraygirl site that I have had for a couple of years now. Things have changed, I even opened up myself to internet marketing possibilities by posting up Google Ads within the site. I have earned a couple of dollars because of it. Still starting out since I still haven't got my own domain.

Maybe when I start my business I can have a site with its own domain. Its so easy to go to the internet now. Its easy to post a site and even with minimal web design skills, I can make a big difference of how stuff can come out.

There are a lot of possibilities out there and Dave had suggested we start a business. I wish I could, but I have to remove the hormones and caffeine to think clearly.
