Apparently, I had to turn the hour’s hand 24 hours first before adjusting the date correctly. He has done that and I’m waiting for 12 midnight to check if it does work. If it does then this post will serve as a reminder and tutorial for me on how to fix it in the future.

UPDATE:
I’ve gotten my first shot! My LGU came through and I had my first does last week October 5, 2021. I had the Phizer one and my next shot is on October 26, 2021.

I’m not vaccinated yet but I’ve already registered via my LGU’s online form. It’s been almost a week since I’ve done that but no responses have been made yet.

I then got to know of a drive-thru vaccination site in Paranaque, more specifically in Nayon Pilipino if I’m not mistaken. According to news articles, non-residents of Paranaque can register as well and that’s what I did (and my wife did too) here. I did just a few minutes ago so let’s see if they do respond after a day (like what others say). Here’s the confirmation message though from their website:

After more or less 12 hours, I got a text message saying:

You are now registered with Paranaque VIP REGISTRY. Kindly wait for SMS advisory on your scheduled vaccination date. For assistance email us at support@paranaquevip.net . Thank you!

It’s now September 7, and we have yet to receive a text message indicating our schedule. But it’s only been several days so our hopes are still up!

I will be updating this post with updates, up until I’ve finished all doses of the vaccine.

So far what I’ve liked with Converge is it’s reliability. Yes, it goes down sometimes but that’s the point – sometimes. It goes down for a few hours, but there’s constant updates to reassure me that everything’s under control and being dealt with.

The only thing that I don’t like with their service is I don’t seem to be able to get the full potential of my connection. When I first subscribed, I got an upto 75mbps plan (Fiber Plan 2500). But then around December last year, they offered a free upgrade, so I’m supposed to get upto 100mbps under the same plan. The thing is even with my old un-upgraded plan, I never got to experience 75mbps, or even 60mbps. I don’t remember getting 50mbps either, upload or download. The best I got was 40+ mbps.

So now I plan on reporting this to them but before I do that, I will record my speed test results using SpeedTest’s service. I will record multiple times everyday at different times of the day and post them here in this blog post. After a few weeks or so, I will report my issue and use this post as proof.

The speed is an issue but I’m really not complaining. I value reliability more than speed. I’d rather have constant and reliable 10mbps than have 100mbps that breaks down everyday. But then again, I want to know why my plan is not living to its potential and I will report it and hopefully it gets rectified and I’ll get the best of what I’m paying for.

Here are my test results. I will put the latest one on top:

I went to the lab and I was able to get all except the HIV results. When I asked why, the conversation went something like this:

Attending staff 1 (polite): Nakalimutan po ni mam fill-upan lahat ng information. Kailangan siya pumunta rito para icomplete ang form at magreceive (my wife forgot to fill up some form fields and she needs to come personally get the results…).

Me: Hindi ba pwedeng ako na lang magfill-up ngayon? Tutal ako naman asawa niya? Bakit kasi hindi kami ininform noon na may kulang pala? (why don’t I fill-up the incomplete fields? why weren’t we informed about these incomplete fields on the form?).

Attending staff 1 (polite): Hindi sir e, kailangan si mam. Pero icheck ko sa supervisor ko (or whoever is in charge). (she checked with her supervisor). Sir, pwede raw po na magbigay na lng ng authorization letter na nakasulat kung bakit hindi sya makapunta at valid ID (I can get the results but I have to give them an authorization letter and ID from my wife).

Me: Okay. Pwede ba malaman kung ano ung kulang na information na hindi nafill-upan? (May I know what the incomplete fields are?)

Attending Staff 2 (rude): Hindi na kailangan! Nasolve na naman ang issue sa form. (she said “no need” since the issue with the form has been resolved, talking while not even looking at me and then just walking back and forth).

Me: Bakit hindi? Ako naman asawa nya, bakit hindi pwedeng malaman? Tatanungin nya ako syempre kung ano ung kulang. It doesn’t make sense! (Why? I’m here husband, it doesn’t make sense for you not to tell us?!)

We went back and forth on this with her saying the same thing and me asking the same thing. At last she said:

Attending Staff 2 (rude): Intersection.

Me: Intersection??? Ano ba yung intersection??? (What’s intersection?)

Attending Staff 2 (rude): Intersection… sexual intercourse. Last year ng sexual intercourse. (she meant sexual intercourse lol)

Me: ????????????? Ahhhhh, sexual intercourse…. (dumbfounded) .. Okay thank you.

Attending Staff 1 (polite): Thank you sir.

Still it doesn’t make sense for them to require that information when they know my wife is pregnant???

With FoodPanda or GrabFood, you just select your food provider of choice, choose the food you want, pay then that’s it. But with Lalamove, you either have to ask your rider to buy it for you (with a P50 fee) or contact the food provider directly, pay them through other means then have Lalamove pick it up for you.

Good thing with Lalamove for me is that they have lots of coupon codes I can use so sometimes I pay almost nothing to have my food delivered at home!

For example, today I ordered food from Wee Nam Kee ATC and it cost me P8 shipping fee with Lalamove. Try it!

I’ve availed of Converge’s free SpeedUp upgrade. I’m on plan 2500 so currently I have (upto) 75mbps connection. With this upgrade, they will give me (upto) 100mbps!

According to the screenshot above, I’d have to wait for 24-48 hours for them to validate my application. Does that mean it requires approval? Well we’ll see.

From what I’ve heard, plan 2500 and above will get this upgrade for free while those on plan 1500 would have to upgrade to plan 1500Xtra for free as well, so they’d get 45mbps.

If I’m right here are the upgrades in speed:

• 1500 – 25mpbs to 45mbps
• 2500 – 75mbps to 100mbps
• 3500 – 150mbps to 20mbps
• 4500 – 300mbps to 400mbps
• 7000 – 500mbps to 800mbps

I’ll post an update here once I hear back from Converge.

Finally got my sim today. I have to admit, I was quite excited to get it because who wouldn’t?! Data that doesn’t expire, count me in! However, my excitement soon turned into disappointment…

I inserted the sim into the sim slot, downloaded the GOMO app, created an account but after activation, the promised free 25GB was not credited to my account. I tried to buy 25GB of data worth P299 instead just because I want to test the sim out but that it wasn’t credited to my account either after a successful purchase (via GCash)!

I got the error message as seen in the image.

What’s happening?? GOMO please fix this. I’ve rated the app 1 star for now because of this bad initial experience. Wasted around P500 so far for a sim that doesn’t work as designed.

If anyone’s wondering, I’m using a OnePlus6T phone. Would that have anything to do with it? I doubt it.

By the way, I’ve sent a PM to their support today but no replies yet. Let’s see how long they take to respond. I will report any updates here.

I’ve been using RFID for a long time now even before pre-RFID – I think it was called e-pass before? Anyway, I usually get to know my current balance after I pay for it at the RFID cashier. The balance is printed out on the receipt.

However, now you can get your balance easily using their online portal! Simply go to
https://autosweeprfidapps.com/balanceinquiry/ and register for an account. Registering to logging-in took me around 2 minutes so the whole process is a breeze. You simply need the following to register:

• RFID account number (get this from your SOA or at the back of your card)
• Plate #
• Email
• Full Name

After you register, an email will be sent to you with your username and password. Login and you’ll get to see your balance information.
