The business world can be a frightening place. I recently received my first real job, and by real I mean finally a job that does not require me to cook food or hang clothes. It is with an energy company in a downtown office setting, and needless to say, it has been one crazy experience. My husband and I had satellite television for years, and didn’t really think about their being another option. However, we had some neighbors who had cable television and so we decided to check it out. We visited www.cable.tv and made a change, and still have all of our favorite channels. One isn’t necessarily better than the other, but evidently where we live makes a difference on price. It seems like such an easy way to save money, so I’m not really sure why we didn’t think of it earlier. We still get to watch all of our shows when we want to, but it’s so nice to have a little extra money every month. It’s not really a huge savings, obviously, but we are enjoying spending our little bit of extra money however we want. This has started a little bit of a new mission for us—we are looking for other ways to save money that might be right in front of our faces. We’re examining all of the providers we use, from our cell phones to our internet. I definitely recommend taking a look at your finances to see if you could save some money too.

But now that I have to make a regular drive between Oklahoma and Texas, the joy of spending 10 hours in a car has greatly diminished. Have you ever had a day where you felt like you were avoiding something at work? Well today I was doing some serious avoiding when I should have been focused and gotten everything that I needed to do done. This morning I did basically everything around the office that could wait, not the big project that I needed to be working on. I chatted with co-workers, cleaned up around the office, and dilly dallied on the way to and from lunch. When I got back after lunch I caught myself searching the internet for Philadelphia Direct tv and tennis teams in the area. About an hour later I found myself looking at Facebook pictures of people that I didn’t even know. I mean how random is that! I knew that I was doing everything that I could to avoid getting into the real work that I needed to do, but for some reason, I just couldn’t get motivated. I am really hoping that I get everything together so that my boss doesn’t notice what a slacker I have been lately!

There are just certain things that you have to serve or it just wouldn't really feel like Thanksgiving. One of those is definitely turkey and another is pumpkin pie. But I personally like to add apple pie to that. There are just so many great flavors, especially when it comes to dessert, that taste like the holiday to me.

I'm not above experimenting with some fun dishes on the holiday too. But there are definitely a few things that I just have to have the good old-fashioned way. Apple pie is one of them. I like to look up recipes for other things online with our Clear. Who needs a cookbook when you have the internet anyway?

i really love me some homemade apple pie and I don't think that anyone who knows me would say anything differently. Even in the years past when IÕve gone to other peopleÕs Thanksgiving meals, IÕve had to check beforehand that they had apple pie. If not, it was something that IÕve supplied so that I can enjoy it. I donÕt expect everyone to understand my love for it, but people seem to respect it.

College living

Being in college now, most of my friends live in dorms. I share my room with two other roommates. It is small, and sometimes we get into each others way. Many people in my dorm have talked about moving out and renting an apartment or house. It is more expensive, but if you can get others to join you and split the rent, it really isn't that bad. The tricky part is finding the right place. The other part is finding the right roommates. I have discovered that living with anyone, no matter how close you are, can eventually annoy you. So you should pick easy to get along with people to room with you.

Spring Break

Spring Break came just in time this year. I was definitely needing a vacation. School was getting crazy, teachers always assigning me constant work, trying to keep up with test and due dates. I was hoping that spring break would come as fast as possible. Now that it is here, I am very happy. It feels so good to just rest and relax. I haven't been able to do that for a long time. I hope that spring break goes by as slowly as it possibly can.

I just recently posted a blog saying how excited I was to begin running track. I had my first meet ever on Thursday. It was a great experience for me. I enjoyed it a lot. I ran the two mile race, and I placed second in it. I also got third place in the one mile race. I am happy that I decided to run track, and I think that it could become one of my favorite sports.

Today I began a new sport at my school. I am running track. The events I will be running are the 1600 meter and the 3200 meter, which is the one mile and the two mile. I am very excited about running and I will have a track meet on Thursday. I hope to be one of the top runners. I had my first practice today and now I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

We watched a video today of Nazi concentration camps and it showed children in the camps. It was crazy. I never knew how bad it was for those Jewish children. Especially when a picture was shown of these kids with hardly anything but bones. It made me very mad at Hitler. I couldn't even believe how cruel the Nazis were to them. I've never seen anything like that before.

I play basketball for Clear Springs, and we are doing really good. We are first place in district, and we are pretty much the best school around. There is only on bad thing. Basketball season is almost over. That is not good news for me. See, I love basketball. it is by far my favorite sport, and it takes up a very lot of my time. With our season quickly ending, I am going to have to find a league to play in or something. Because I have got to play basketball. I just do.
