I'm just sitting here, in a big truck getting a load of sugar, on a Friday evening. I was reading a post on G+ by Popey and Wordpress. I think that blogger has a lot to offer versus word press.

I'm also using the text to speech program in android. to see how all it catches my words in verbage correctly. as you can see it still needs some work.

It got me thinking about a summer job I (and my would be brother in law) had when I was 16... I used to ride my bicycle 14 miles down from Angwin, CA to Calistoga, CA, to do yard work in a Mobile Home park all day, and then ride home. Man, I was bushed when I got home. I couldn't eat enough food to keep up with all of the calories that I burned. I had just gotten to the point to where I didn't have to dismount my bicycle on the way home going uphill. It's a big hill. Then, going downhill, to work, the accident. I crashed going downhill around the hair pin turn on Deer Park Road. It's right there on the map where the big D is for Deer park. A car full of student nurses passed me up just prior to the corner, and then the driver slammed on her breaks, to slow down for the curve, right in front of me. It was either hit the back of their car, or go off the road into gravel. I ate the gravel. Broke my leg, and went home for the summer. I never did get back into that kind of shape again. It's hard work. It can also break ya. LOL.

Now some 30 years later, I find it hard to try and loose just some of the weight, and get some of that energy back. For what it's worth. I'd think that it would be easier to maintain a decent weight, and stay in shape, then try to get back into it. Trucking, Smoking, Drinking, none of that helps as you get older either. Better to stay away from those things from the start.

Was there a point to this post? Nope. Other then just reminiscing...

But I guess that I'd like to know, has anyone else had something like this happen to them? Get to working hard and then BOOM something happens to you, and you don't go back to what you were doing?

So I was cruising through Lakewood, NY last week. (MM 22 on I-86) And came upon this sight. The Sun rising to my back, and a dark cloud cap up front, with the sun shining in under the clouds.

I was rather pleased that I was able to get these shots without a hitch. So many times these things just come out blurring.

As you can see, I'm now under the cloud cover. With the lake to the left of me. Not much traffic.

This is an old draft post that I was working about 4 months ago, to show how simple it is to use Blogger with your cell phone to post.

I think that it still holds true after the re-vamping of Blogger. The new editor doesn't allow the addition of enclosures (mp3's for Podcasts) to the posts. I hope that they're not planning on taking that feature away.

Back to posting via your phone. You can set it up to be a draft, so you can edit with your computer later, or just have it post right from your phone.

On a side note, if you have an Android Phone, and are on Google Plus, you can have the pictures upload right after you take the pictures. Again, you can set it up to not post immediately or wait for you to edit and post them later, also you have choices for posting over the Cell Tower or via WiFi. Cell Towers are best, as they'll geo-tag the shots right after you take them.

Hey There!

I'm just feeling like posing a little silly blog post.. I've got a new keyboard that I need to test out, and I've got some music playing...

Ok, so if you've been following the Blog a little bit, or me, a bit, or just showed up, you'll notice that myself and "G" over at Tachoblog.com have been playing around a bit with Truck Photo Contests. And I've been meaning to ask "G" that if I could do some guest blog posts over on his blog, interviewing some of the other drivers.

Hmmm, Maybe I should have asked him before I started typing, NAW!

In any case, I asked "G" for a picture, so I could write up a nice profile for him, and make up a nice little "About TachoBlog" post/page for him, but he refused me a picture of him.

Mphhpft! Can you believe that? WHAT? No Photo of the dude. But then, that started me thinking... What's he got to hide?

Miles and miles to drive, with an ADHD Trucker obsessing on why someone wouldn't want a picture of themselves on the interwebs.

Thinking... Pondering... Wondering... What if.. This, What if... That....

Then, I thought. Ok, Maybe "G" is short for Gracie. Maybe he's really a she, and doing a J.K. Rowling on us.

Nah!

But what if? Ok... What if "G" is really a Teenager, Daughter of some high and mighty corporate executive? "Lion's and Bears, Oh My!"

NAH!!

He writes to much like a guy. But he could be the son of a well known high and mighty corporate exec.

NAH!!

Could it be that he's just afraid to get in front of a camera, afraid to break it?

NAH!!

Could it be that he's just Shy?

Maybe....

Or it could be that he's just waiting for the right moment?

Maybe...

He's just hoping that we get enough photo's for the Summer Trucking Photo Shot?

And if we get enough, he might show up with a big online grin??

Wow. What a week! I went down to LA (That's Louisiana, not that place out west)... This past week. I got plenty of Happy Birthday's on Facebook. Thanks! - It made the time on the road a little better.

I recall @Little_Trucker talking about a bridge to nowhere, and I think she was in New Jersey. Well, sister, I think that New Orleans has got that bridge beat. This is part of I-10 just east of the I-510 interchange, if I recall correctly.

And, has I'm headed out from where I make my delivery, you can get the tailpipe view of a monster space ship rocket's exhaust pipe. Notice the man off to the right hand side of the picture. - Looks like he might be able to sand up inside that exhaust pipe, eh? So, I guess it's same to assume that they DO have some rocket scientists in the neighborhood.

And this bad boy zoomed right on past me... I was driving Gutless Gertrude (a Western Star, with a Detroit 60 series) on the trip... She falls down at the sight of a hill.. In any case, I got on the CB and told the driver about the Summer Trucking Contest on Facebook. Dunno if he'll follow up on it, or not.

And Last, but not least, back in Ohio, the Local Cincinnati, News 12 Crews are doing an interview with the DOT at the scales, about truck safety. Something about a 72 hr safety deal or some such bother.

And Last but not least, and since the links are supposed to follow through, I changed my Moniker on Twitter to @RandyNose, since I use that most everywhere else... Twitter is supposed to forward such changes and things, so it shouldn't be to much of a bother..

These shots come to you from Columbus, Ohio I took them while I was waiting for someone to come out and meet up with the truck to get started with unloading it.

Just in case you were wondering, #VFTC is a short "code"" for use on Twitter and the like, for "View From The Cab".

I'm thinking that maybe some triple shots out of the cab might be a "view set" I could do. Right Mirror, Center, and left mirror. Hmm... But I didn't do it this week.

This of course would be the drivers side, but I didn't take it from within the cab, or with a mirror so it doesn't count.

And as you might have guessed, they weren't out really quick, so I started staring at the walls. Taking Some "Artsy Fartsy" Shots. My phone camera sucks. And I'm not really great at photography, but I do like to dabble in it.

Speaking of Dabbling. - I'd like to invite everyone to that reads this to join our "Summer Trucking" photo contest on facebook. All you have to do is submit some photos for others to [LIKE]. This is this weeks official #VFTC shot of THE cab. - I've sent plenty of them this past winter from within the cab at this location. What I've NOT done is any kind of a blog post for some time, for Tachoblog or anywhere else. And I've been itching to do one.

Had ideas fall into my head, and out into the ears of my fellow truckers and geeks on my phone's dialer.

One of the things that drives me nuts, is the lack of ability to get some of the fun, geeky things done when work get's busy. But if work is busy, the Bills are paid. So, there IS an up side to that.

But I sometimes take a backward look at things, and "Wonder About it All".

I tend to see that life on this planet is bound to happen. Earth has a cosmic explosion of life. Life can't help but happen on our planet. Take a small flower, it's just doing what it's DNA is programed to do. Grow, Live, reproduce, and then die. If someone notices it's beauty, they get to enjoy it. The Flower doesn't care, it's going going do it's thing no matter if we notice it or not.

And some flowers do their thing of beauty in places we might not notice. :)

It's not that I've forgotten about you, my dear blog. It's just that work continues to demand more out of me at a daily level, and while I've still idea's for you bouncing around my head, I don't feel that I have the time or energy to give to you the things that you need.

I feel kind of trapped, and wrapped up, sort like a cat with a force field around it. So don't fret dear blog, I will attend to you from time to time, but such other things like Facebook, and Twitter, yes non-extraordinary, or personalized methods to stay connected or to catalog one's thoughts, but the ones that are easy to reach with my phone.

Yes dear blog, it is true, I have spent a few hours on the couch with the family, with Netflix. So if you feel shunted and ashamed to know me, I understand. Also please don't hold it against me that if I play a few games on the computer while I do have a few moments to re-grasp my sanity from time to time....

It seems to me, that I need to stop looking for a Magic Bullet. I've been on a quest the past year trying to figure out, how to make a successful business blog, and reading blogs and articles on how to "blog for money", how to "turn your blog into a money maker", and all kinds of "ways to get better SEO", (Search Engine Optimization).

I've been searching for a Niche, I thought I had one, in creating a blog that serviced my local area. Seems there's plenty of those also, not that I don't think that could contribute, but it sorta puts some limits on things. But back to my first thoughts, No one has the magic answer for your blog. No one can sell you your experiences, or your views.

There's also blogs or websites that service or sell just one theme. Say Organic Cat Food, so your cat too, can help save the planet. I'm going to be a little miffed if my cat is able to save the whole set of plants, er, planets, as she's just over a year old, and I've been trying to collect the whole set and become the ruler of the solar system for some time. But nothing says cute like a kitten, and if that's what the people of the solar system want, well... I'll be hard pressed to stop them.

I take a look around and those that I know and respect online who've made something out of their own creations, and there's one common thread, that should stand out shout its's self at you.

It's gonna take a bit of effort.

BUT, if you enjoy the effort. It won't feel like work. Look at Scott Sigler, Nathan Lowell, and that Wine Guy Gary...

You're going to make mistakes. - So long as you don't kill someone, it's not that bad, Really.

In hindsight I might have done better to have kept my "Randomize Radio/Ramblings" Blog going. It took some time to build up that brand, and then I let it go to pot, and moved over to this blog. Was that a good or bad move? - I really don't know. I do know that it's still getting a few hits, on a couple of posts. Why those posts are popular, I'm not sure.

Here's a short list of things that I hope to get to shortly, that's if WORK doesn't burn me out and use up all of my time. And lately, it has. It pays the bills.

I keep telling myself, that I need to learn more and post a bit more about AWeber.
I keep wanting to learn some drawing programs better.
I keep wondering how viable the "Decade Car" idea is?
Also I wonder if development of a SMS Dispatching and book keeping for trucking (or any fleet) idea is dead before it's off the ground, with the new smart phones, and aps?
And... I wonder if I should just experimenting around with writing a few short stories?

Due to time, and I'm not good at cold calling on people. I doubt that I'll get the Best-Of-Lakewood video blog going full bore as I had envisioned. My Pimping of the Penguin might not happen as much, but that has become more of a "how to" blog, and more of a journey of things that I've learned about computing over the last few years kind of blog. Coincidentally, it's the oldest blog that I've kept, and plan to keep, if you travel back to the first posts, it has Window's posts.

So, while work might keep me busy for 14+ hrs some days, I'm not gone, I'm not dead, I'm just doing the deal to buy my meal.

So? Any Votes on what kind of content you'd like to see?

Subject: Easy way for you to drop gas prices to $2 a gallon for American workers. Otherwise, they will soon be paying for $5 gas --- and blaming your administration.

Mr. President:

Here is an all-win, no-lose, plan that will please the country and stop the blackmail from foreign oil suppliers. The outrage of $5 gas is coming soon - probably next year. It will wipe out the recovery and your administration in the next election. It must be stopped. Challenge the foreign oil suppliers with America’s most abundant and cleanest transportation fuel, NATURAL GAS. We can still use all the ethanol our farmers can make in dual-fuel cars. Conversion to natural gas cars sounds like a long and expensive transition. Not at all! You don’t need to force anyone. All you need to do is start the ball rolling. And there is a clever way to do that without any government subsidy, believe it or not! Nationally known and syndicated financial expert Bob Brinker came up with the deceptively simple, genius idea described below.

Mr. President, please sign a simple executive order tomorrow that says that all federal vehicles purchased after, say, January 1, 2012, must run on NATURAL GAS as well as other fuels such as gasoline, diesel, or ethanol. Such dual-fuel vehicles are already being used by smart companies all over the country. No new design or technology is needed. (Federal agencies can op out for a while if they have no easy natural gas supply.)

Why does this work? The federal government is the biggest purchaser of new vehicles. The automakers already supply tens of thousands of cars that run on natural gas or gasoline (or ethanol) for utility companies and taxis companies all over the country who gladly pay a higher price for these dual-fuel vehicles because their fuel costs are reduced. With the enormous federal government market for natural gas vehicles, car manufacturers will quickly make natural gas cars and light trucks available to everyone at no big price increase over conventional gasoline cars. Natural gas is available in almost all urban areas where most of the commuting is done. It is easy to fuel natural gas cars at home. But this initiative does not force any private citizen to buy natural gas/dual-fuel cars.

Natural gas is the only significant "alternative transportation fuel" that will be available over the ten to twenty years. And it is available everywhere, right now!
Dual-fuel natural gas+gasoline(or ethanol) cars will suddenly be available to the general public at no increased cost. Car makers now deliver them for utilities and Taxis.
The middle east oil countries know how much natural gas we have. They are terrified that we start using it and less of their oil. They will bring the price of gas down to $2 a gallon and keep it there to discourage our conversion.

This is a all-win, no-lose initiative for you. All you have to do is sign a piece of paper. Any agency that does not want to buy natural gas, dual-fuel vehicles can op out. But your executive order alone will cause foreign oil suppliers to think twice about blackmailing the U.S. for oil. It tells them where we are going -- and that we will not need their oil in ten years or so.

The biggest worry for the foreign oil suppliers is that we will start using our enormous natural gas supplies, now estimated to supply the U.S. more than 100 years. The price of gasoline will drop to $2.00 per gallon or less – even before we convert large numbers of our vehicles to natural gas. Yea, I know it's a lousy picture...

I can never get the cat to pose for me. I move the camera to try to keep up with the cat, and it make the shot blurry. Maybe that's why the call my phone a BlackBlurry?

You know, sometimes it is nice to surprise your significant other with some flowers. And ya know, I'd be surprised if I were to receive some. (hint?)

And What is it with flowers? Why can't men be given flowers? And I mean Manly hairy chested, and balding, knuckled draggin' heterosexual men. What don't you gals do that for us??

Yea, we live in a world of mixed messages, and I wouldn't want to mix up the messages and give flowers to my Landlord, although, he might be deserving of some. He Does mow the lawn, and clear off the snow off the sidewalk... But, I just don't think that the appreciation would be there.

And, why is it so surprising that men cook from time to time? We can clean, and speaking for myself, I'm usually to busy to deal with the woolly boogers (dust bunnies) under the refrigerator ....

So, if it's snowing there, where you are... Get some flowers, and put them in your house to brighten things up. Spring might not be here, but we can still enjoy a fresh flower or two. :)

Anyway... I've got a oven to pre-heat and dinner to fix...

Leather Cat Toy - Can you help me find another one?

Petco had this Leather Ring Cat toy, once upon time. I picked one out from the discount bin, not know it was going to be my cat's favorite toy. - She likes to play fetch with us with this silly thing. She'll bring it back (no other toy) and drop it in front of one of us, so we can throw it. She'll chase it down with a happy cat noise (brrrp brrrp brrrp) and repeat.

Can you help me find another one, the current toy is getting some fair amount of use.

I'm glad this dandy little P-Hole isn't near home, but I pass it to and from work... It's on 65th street just south of Chester, in Cleveland, in case you were wondering..

It's time for us to slow down, not from bad weather, but from what the bad weather has done to the roads, and keep our eyes out for the road crews fixing these nasty little surprises.

I hate to give away secretes.. But sometimes it's good to let loose of some of some of the tools you might like to use on the web. Especially, when you've had a long week like I've had.

I'm feeling a little brain dead, with little energy to put into a really great blog post, But I'm doing better sending myself notes on what one's I ought to do, and what blog they need to go on.

But Yes, Fliptext.org is a great place to turn your text upside down. There are a few other sites that do the same thing. I might have more fun things to show off or do in the near future.

What kind of practicable jokes or geeky jokes, have you pulled lately?
