I know he had a very rough childhood and a abusive father but the man was a bit of a recluse. I was in the middle of my shift on Thursday when the news hit so we went into scramble mode as we do host some news sits un our data centers. we had to work pretty quickly in order to keep the sites online so I didn’t have time to reflect on the event. It’s been a few days now and I still don’t really feel anything about his death. I did find these pictures from a co-workers and I found them a little funny. Apperntly people found a star on the Walk of Fame with the name Michael Jackson on it and so they held a vigil to honor his death. Apperently no one did their homework because the star they were mourning at was for an LA Radio host by the same name who is stil alie.

The pop star’s actual star on the Walk of Fame is near the front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. On the day of his death the star was covered by scaffolding in preparation for the “Bruno” movie premiere. Its sad that Americans have become so uneducated as a whole. What the heck is happening to this country?

The Discovery
I found this video originally while reading the WIRED News RSS feed. I watched the entire video and I was completely fascinated by this brief look into the mind of a modern Renaissance Man who I mainly only knew about from watching the Mythbusters show on television. I watched the video over and over again and my curiosity only grew so I hit the web to see if I could determine where this talk was given. Eventualy, I determined that Mr. Savage was on Twitter, so I sent him a quick question. I figured that I would not hear back from Mr. Savage, if ever, as he is an extremely busy person.

After I few days I checked my Twtitter account and I found the following reply to my question. I was really pumped that the one and only Adam Savage had taken the time to actually reply to my question!

So now I knew that the lecture had been given at The Entertainment Gathering or EG in December of 2008 which took place in Monterey, California. EG appears to be a large gathering of entertainers, musicians, and thinkers. There have been four conferences and I will probably never be able to attend one as tickets cost $4000 a seat and there are only 350 seats total. If you are interested in attending the conference will be on January 21-23, 2010 at the Monterey Conference Center.

My Impressions
At any rate I highly recommend that you watch this viedo and I really appreciate the time that Mr. Savage took out of his busy schedule to speak with me. Please comment below and give me your thoughts on this video.
