6" of new snow Wednesday! We have had snow squalls this morning and will fire up the groomers tomorrow.Will know by tomorrow PM if we can open a few groomed trails for skiers. The snowshoeing should be good, watch for thin snow in places. A note of caution: the lake is unsafe this early in the season.. The yurt will open Saturday, December 13th.

We're anxious for our winter season to start, and doing the big snow dance to get us going here in the western mountains! The warm temps of the past few days have whittled our snow down a bit, but still more white than brown up here :) Hoping that Wednesday brings more of the white stuff...

We have cooler temps! The groomer is out setting track. We expect to have 15km groomed this morning. Temps are warming up. The rest of the trails will soften by mid day.
Today is Maine Day. All Maine residents can buy tickets for $12.00. Today is also the last day the Yurt will be open this winter ski season. The trails are never closed. Feel free to stop by and ski/snowshoe. Maps are in the mail box attached to the Yurt deck.
We've had a great season. We thank all you skiers and snowshoers. The great volunteers and cookie makers that made all our race events so successful and the local community for supporting us financially each year.

We did receive 2 to 3 inches of new snow. Its a wet snow with temps in the mid 30's. Cannot groom with these conditions. Fifteen trails open. Tracks still visible with new snow. Does look like a window of cooler temps tonight for grooming.
Sunday is Maine Day. All Maine residents ski for $12.00. Should be sunny and in the 40's. Great Spring skiing!

Looks like we may get 2 to 3 inches of snow tonight. Mixed precipitation tomorrow with seasonable temps. Trails are in great shape. Some wet spots.

We were able to groom out 15km of trails yesterday. We have cooler temps this morning so he is able to set track. Temps are 22 with light winds.
Today is Ladies Day. Half price tickets and a free bowl of chili. We will close Tuesday thru Friday of this week. We will reopen Sat. and Sun. April 5 and 6. This will be the last weekend the Yurt will be open this season. The Trails never close. You are all welcome to come ski/snowshoe. Maps are in mailbox on the kiosk attached to the deck. Please be aware there is very little cell coverage and ski with a partner if possible.

WOW, what a change from yesterday's weather! I just shoveled 3" of wet snow off the Yurt deck. The groomer just arrived and will see what he can do. It may be too warm. I'll keep you posted.

Its snowing and more is on the way Saturday night. Saturday will be sunny and in the low 40's. Our first Spring skiing day! Trails are in excellent shape. Fifteen trails (27km) open for the weekend.
We will be open through Mon., March 31. Closed April 1 to 4 and reopen April 5 and 6. Sunday, April 6 is Maine Day. All ski tickets are $12.00.

We are still enjoying mid-winter conditions here at the Trails Center. Packed powder, flawless tracks and clean trails. Snowshoe trails are all packed out (12km). Fifteen ski trails (27km), 16 degrees, calm and overcast.
Today is buy one ticket get the other one free day.
We will be open full-time through Monday, March 31. We will close April 1 to 4 and reopen April 5 and 6. April 6 will be the last day we will staff the Yurt for the winter season. It is also Maine Day. All ski tickets are $12.00.

A beautiful morning with blue skies and low 20's. Six inches of new snow. Trails are in great shape with packed powder and powder conditions. We have 18km groomed with track this morning.

Fourteen trails open (26km) with packed powder conditions. Overcast and 25 degrees with more snow on the way! Most of the snowshoe trails are packed out.
I have a correction from my last blog. We will be open full time through March 31. We will assess soon if we will be open the following weekend April 5 and 6.

Eighteen inches of new snow!! The groomers have covered 8 trails (18km) so far. We will have more open by the weekend. The trails are beautiful with packed powder conditions. A real winter wonderland out there!

Looks like this weekend should be mostly sunny with very seasonable temps! Ski/snowshoe conditions are excellent. We have 15 trails (27km) open for skate and classic. Twelve km of single track snowshoe trails.

Saturday we are hosting our annual Rangeley Lakes Loppet Marathon. Public is welcome. Yurt staff will help direct recreational skiers and snowshoers to where race course is laid out.
