Disney Uses In-Game Advertising To Promote The 2016 Film ‘Pete’s Dragon’

During the summer of 2016, RapidFire ran a dynamic in-game advertising (DIGA) campaign for Disney, promoting the 2016 remake of the animated film ‘Pete’s Dragon’.

DIGA is the type of in-game advertising that can be served in real-time inside of console and computer video games. While gamers are playing with an active internet connection, the ads are streamed onto in-game objects like billboards, hoardings, and posters situated throughout a game’s virtual 3D environment.

The real-time capabilities of dynamic in-game advertising make it a perfect and innovative advertising channel for promoting DVD or theatrical film releases…because the ads can be taken in-and-out of video games and accommodate the typical 2-4 week duration of a Hollywood ad campaign.

Working closely with Disney’s media buying agency, we delivered the campaign across several blockbuster Console and Steam video games in our network – ensuring we strategically targeted games that were played primarily by a younger audience, in order to align with the target demographic of ‘Pete’s Dragon’. Additionally, using our proprietary ad serving technology, we were able to geo-target the campaign (based on a gamer’s IP address) to just the Portuguese market.

RapidFire’s technology will bring in-game advertising to the free-to-play Ghost Recon: Phantoms, and allow Ubisoft to monetize ad space inside of its hit game title in a way that’s measurable and scalable.

Vancouver, BC – August 17, 2015: RapidFire, the industry’s leading in-game advertising network, announced today a key partnership with Ubisoft that will bring dynamic in-game advertising (DIGA) into the popular multiplayer game title Ghost Recon: Phantoms available on Microsoft Windows. The partnership will help bring a new recurring revenue stream to the free-to-play game which is available for download on Ubisoft’s exclusive digital game store UPlay, as well as available for free on the Steam Store.

RapidFire’s technology, known as the Radial Network, allows advertisements to be streamed in real-time inside of a video game’s 3D environment on objects such as billboards, hoardings, bus stops, and posters – essentially any object inside of a game where a player is likely to see an advert in real life.

For free-to-play games such as Ghost Recon: Phantoms, in-game advertising can be a great way to generate some additional recurring revenue for game publishers, and help off-set some of the development and administrative costs associated with keeping the game free. RapidFire Announces Partnership with Psyonix to Bring Dynamic In-Game Advertising to Rocket League®

RapidFire’s technology will bring in-game advertising to the recently released hit video game Rocket League®, and allow Psyonix to monetize ad space inside of its game in a way that’s measurable and scalable.

Vancouver, BC – July 14, 2015: RapidFire, the industry’s leading in-game advertising network, announced today a key partnership with with Psyonix that will bring dynamic in-game advertising (DIGA) into the recently released Rocket League®. The partnership will help bring an additional recurring revenue stream to the hit game which was released last week on Steam/Windows and Sony’s PlayStation® 4.

RapidFire’s technology, known as the Radial Network, allows advertisements to be streamed in real-time inside of a video game’s 3D environment on objects such as billboards, hoardings, bus stops, and posters – essentially any object inside of a game where a player is likely to see an advert in real life.

Rocket League’s gameplay is almost a mix between driving and soccer, where players control a rocket-powered car and use it to hit a giant ball around the field-of-play – and points are accumulated when goals are scored in the opposing nets. Most of the maps released thus far since launch, overwhelmingly already have pitch-side hoardings and ad space, resembling what you’d typically find in both indoor or outdoor soccer stadiums. So with this ad space already built into the game for realism and cosmetic purposes – it then makes perfect sense to monetize this space with real-world brands and advertisements.

RapidFire’s SDK and technology will be included in both the Steam/Windows and PlayStation® 4 versions of the game.

The partnership will help bring an additional recurring revenue stream to the hit game which was released earlier this year in April on iOS devices, and will be released on Android in mid-October of this year.

RollerCoaster Tycoon® 4 will be the first game from the hugely popular franchise to be fully released on just mobile devices. Starting February 17, 2014 and running until March 31, 2014, RapidFire ran the dynamic in-game advertising (DIGA) campaign for Mountain Dew, promoting the action sports event called ‘The Dew Tour’.

DIGA is the type of in-game advertising that can be served in real-time inside of console and computer video games. Dynamic in-game ads are commonly featured on billboards, hoardings, and posters situated throughout a game’s virtual 3D environment.

Mountain Dew is one of the most well-known beverage brands in the World, with a target demographic that aligns very closely with the video game playing demographic. It comes to no surprise then, that they’ve jumped on board with RapidFire’s renowned platform for advertising inside of video games. For those that don’t already know, The Dew Tour is an action sports event & festival that features snowboarding, skateboarding, and BMXing among other exciting events. Participants compete to win bronze, silver and gold medals, as well as prize money.

Starting January 6th, 2014 and running until January 31st, 2014, RapidFire ran the dynamic in-game advertising (DIGA) campaign for McDonald’s, promoting the ‘Big Mac Hunt’ in Germany.

DIGA is the type of in-game advertising that can be served in real-time inside of console and computer video games. Dynamic in-game ads are commonly featured on billboards, hoardings, and posters situated throughout game’s virtual 3D environment.

Not only is McDonald’s well-known for being the World’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, but they’re also well known for being one of the most innovative and effective advertisers of any brand in the World. It comes to no surprise then, that they’ve jumped on board with RapidFire’s renowned platform for advertising inside of video games. McDonald’s ‘Big Mac Hunt’ campaign promoted a fun activity across Germany where people could scan QR codes on various adverts such as TV commercials, Bus Stops, etc, for a chance to win Big Mac’s. The in-game ads that ran on RapidFire’s network, heavily featured QR codes where gamer’s could use their smartphones to scan their TV or computer screens while playing.

Debonairs Pizza Uses In-Game Advertising to Promote Amazing Kitchen Campaign

From December 1st, 2013 through to February 17th, 2014, we’ll be running the Dynamic In-Game Advertising (DIGA) campaign for Debonairs Pizza, spreading the word about their new promotion called ‘Amazing Kitchen’.

DIGA is the type of in-game advertising that can be served in real-time inside of Console, Computer, and Mobile video games. Dynamic in-game ads are commonly featured on billboards, hoardings, and posters situated throughout virtual 3D game environments. For example, think of a video game that takes place in a Soccer Stadium or in Times Square – you’d expect to see real-life advertisements in these virtual environments – so that’s exactly what our company delivers!
