There are many users of rapidshare having the problem while downloading or uploading files from rapidshare or megaupload.

The main problem is "The Connection Was Reset" error which occurs due insufficient connection speed or due to explorer timeout.This problem could be solved by using firefox.Type about:config at the address bar of firefox.Find timeout using filter as shown.

Adjust timeout value "network.http.keep-alive.timeout" to a higher value and also the other similar values.By this higher range of download speeds could be obtained from any site without the connection reset.

Another method is by pinging the Dns servers.Find your Dns server by typing "ipconfig/all" in the command prompt window.

Make a new .txt file and type exactly as given below with your "Dns server address"

Here "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" denotes your ip address similar to "202.56.230.5" or something.Save it as "rapidsharehack.bat" which is a batch file and not a text file.

Finally, those cookies are cloned into browser – in easy point-and-click fashion - with a home-grown tool called Hamster.The attack can hijack sessions in almost any cookie-based web application

First Step: Identify where the premium cookie will be stored. To do this, (i) go to www.rapidshare.com and click under Premium, the Login tab and enter "dummy" for both username and password. You're doing this to trick your computer to store a cookie, so you can find out the exact location where Rapidshare hides its Premium Cookies, and calls them whenever you login to the premium zone.

(ii) Then go to your browser's Tools tab, click Internet Options. Under "general" tab, you'll see the Temporary Internet Files - here click "Settings", and click "View Files". A Window will open. MAKE A NOTE OF THE
LOCATION OF THIS FOLDER. THIS IS WHERE YOU'LL INSTALL THE PREMIUM COOKIE.

(iii) Then, in this folder click on "Last Modified" tab, and look for a text file that was modified on today's date, and named "Cookie:'XXXX'@rapidshare.com/" . (Replace XXXX with your login name on this your PC). TAKE A NOTE OF THIS FILE. YOU HAVE TO DELETE THIS FILE BEFORE
YOU INSTALL THE PREMIUM COOKIE.

The steps 2,3 could be replaced by using firefox addon Addn Edit cookie extension for editing the cookies we give you.
Second Step: Download both parts of the file below, and extract the setup file named PremiumCookie.exe and install the Premium Cookie in your Temporary Internet Folder. When propmpted for the folder to be installed, remember to enter the folder name you noted down in Step 1.

a. Download the current latest version from http://www.sendspace.com/file/t4fsrb.

Extract the contents and launch Grabber.exe

b. Paste your RS link in step 1

c. Click GRAB of step 3. You will probably you see a message that download limit has exceeded like in the bottom of the above screenshot.d. Go to http://www.steganos.com/?area=updateproxylist. ctrl + a, ctrl + c

Rapidshare has been an excellent tool for sharing large files. Recently users have discovered ways of bypassing the download limits and skipping the waiting time. Here are a description of these methods.

Update: Two new methods of bypassing download limits have been posted. These are more advanced and may require additional software or hardware, but you should check them out when you are done with these easier methods:

Rapidshare traces the users IP address to limit each user to a certain amount of downloading per day. To get around this, you need to show the rapidshare server a different IP address.

Here are some methods for doing this:

1. Short-Out the JavaScript:

2. Request a new IP address from your ISP server.

To be honest, I do not know how to do this in linux/unix/etc. If this works for you, you may want to save the above commands into a batch file, and just run it when you need it.

3. Use a proxy with SwitchProxy and Firefox:

This is how I get what I want from RapidShare without having to wait the 60+ minutes between downloads.

First method is having two NICs and a hub.

My ISP uses static IPs (Roadrunner).

1. Download a file from RapidShare.

2. Disable one nic and activate another after download is complete.
While NIC is activating restart Modem. IPS will assign a new IP.

3. Download another file.

4. When download is complete, create a bridge between NICs while restarting modem. Your ISP will assign a new IP.

This will get you three files in time limit set by RapidShare.

This method is not that high speed but is better then one file an hour.

Second method uses MAC cloaning application.

It will allow you to change your MAC address of your NIC.

Install MAC cloaning app (search Google from appz) Different appz have different procedures, read the help file to figure out what you are doing. I use SMAC, it is pretty simple.

1. Download file from RapidShare.

2. Change MAC address (don’t change until the current file is finished downloadling)

3. Restart Modem, ISP will issue a new IP for new MAC address. Takes less then 15 seconds.

4. Download another file from RapidShare

If a file is too large to send as an email attachment, just upload it to rapidshare and email the file link to the recipient. Rapidshare also provides a delete link so that you can remove the file from Rapidshare servers once the recipient has download the file to his own computer.

When you download a file from Rapidshare, you will notice a download counter or a waiting limit. This is only for free rapidshare accounts and if you can spare a few Euros and buy a Rapidshare premium account, the download counter is removed. Plus you get unlimited downloads otherwise there’s a restriction on the data that you transfer during a certain period.

Rapidshare will delete files that have not been accessed for 30 days or longer. Rapidshare premium account supports download managers and provide much faster downloads.
