Shree Cement was originally promoted by Shree Digvijay Cement Co. Limited.

In 1983, Beawar ( Rajasthan ) Cement Licence was originally given by the Govt. to Shree Digvijay Cement.

Bangurs transferred it to a new Company- Shree Cement ( Name Shree from Shree Digvijay )
.

Shares of Digvijay Finlease were given to shareholders of Shree Digvijay Co.after transferring Shri Digvijay's holding to it of Shree Cement shares.

Transfer of Shares Held by Shree Digvijay Cement Limited ( 1997 )

. A Scheme of arrangement by Shree Digvijay Cement Limited its four divisions was made between the Shree Digvijay Cement and Gujarat Composite Ltd. The Scheme was completed in 1997-98.GCL has allotted equity shares in GCL capital in the ration of 1 : 3 to the members of the company as per the scheme.

Further the Shree Digvijay Cement Limited has transferred the investment held in shares in other bodies corporate aggregating to Rs. 653.18 lacs to Digvijay Finlease Ltd. (DFL). In consideration DFL has allotted equity shares in DFL capital in the ratio of 1 : 2 to the member of the company.

HISTORY

Established in 1948 , at Allahabad , by the deeply patriotic and enterprising Shervani family , GEEP ( Great Eastern Electro Plating ) sought to contribute to independent India's self reliance in electroplating industry. Electroplating technology was used by it for manufacturing torches ( famous Geep brand ).In due course it began to produce batteries. In the post globalization scenario , Geep sold out its traditional torch / battery business to Multinational- Gillette.

After closing down its battery / torches manufacturing facility at Allahabad , Shervani Industrial Syndicate Ltd. is , currently , in the process of selling machinery . It proposes to develop its very substantial and highly valuable land for REAL ESTATE projects.

To the best of our knowledge ( which please recheck ) the extent of land bank of Shervani Industrial Syndicate Limited in the posh Suleman Serai area of Allahabad is between 30 to 35 acres.

Shervani Industrial Syndicate is cash rich . Its sticky investment in Shervani Sugar Syndicate Ltd. have been provided for. There may be some gains by way of recovery of amounts earlier provided for in the Books of Account here as sugar prospects had improved substantially .

Tara Snacks And Foods Ltd. ( now renamed Farco Foods Limited) , a loss making entity ,is its subsidiary.

Another associate Company Shervani Hospitalities Ltd ( of which Shervani Industrial holds shares ) which has hotels in Nainital, New Delhi etc ( Nehru Place Hotel opening shortly )should be doing well as Hotel prospects have improved greatly

Investors Flay " Occupy Dalal Street " Move by Communist Party ( CPI )

While even China is encouraging Share Markets and public participation , Communist Party of India is trying to push India backwards by their ill advised " Occupy Dalal Street " Move from 04-11-11

Instead of protesting Communist Parties should encourage the Share Markets as share markets facilitate wider holding in large enterprises even by small share holders . This spreading out of wealth and wealth creation among many people is another form of Socialism .

In India companies like Hero Moto ( earlier Hero Honda ) , Cummins India , Hindustan Unilever , ITC , Reliance group etc etc have financially enriched lakhs of small investors.

State ownership as the erstwhile USSR also have proven leads only to an inefficient and wasteful enterprise model. So called socialist policies and state monopolies kept India backward and brought it to the brink of bankruptcy in early 1990 s. Reforms initiated by Dr. Manmohan Singh have made India one of the fasted growing economies of the World.

MY MEMORIES

When I passed out from St. Stephen's College , Delhi and settled down in Jalandhar in 1980 , I wanted to buy some ( very small number ) of shares which were available only at Bombay Stock Exchange.

I contacted many Share Brokers of Mumbai. All refused to entertain my small amount transactions. Nearly all would simply not reply at all.

But , the biggest Mumbai Share Broker and President of BSE , Late Mr. Mahendra Kampani of M/s Jamnadas Morarjee And Co. ( JM Financial ) not only accepted my small order but ,also, gave me valuable guidance and encouragement.

I had given an order for purchase of 100 L and T ( Rs.10 paid then ).

I received a personal message from Mr. Mahendra Kampani that L and T is greatly tipped in the market and has gone up from Rs. 45 to Rs. 50. . My order could only be executed at Rs. 50. However , if I did not wish to Buy at Rs. 50 , I should so convey and my order would be squared up with no loss to me.)

Great People are , always , humble.

May the Great Mr. Mahendra Kampani's soul Rest in Peace ( He died in a car accident in 1997 at the age of 58 )
