Nine thousand miles on a 1997 means the universe was saving this one for someone.

Worth remembering what the ZX-11 actually was in period: it held the fastest production motorcycle crown from 1990 until Honda’s Blackbird finally took it away in the late ’90s. This one landed right in that window, stock, four-carb, no electronics to save you from yourself. If you want the deeper history on these, we covered a clean ’92 a while back and it’s worth a read.

The one thing to flag before anyone gets excited: those tires are from 2006. Twenty years old, low miles or not, rubber that age is done regardless of tread left. Budget for new tires before this thing sees a highway.

Everything else here reads honest. At $4,200 for a sorted, stock ZX-11 with carbs already sorted, that’s fair money for a bike that spent most of its life parked.

Would you trust year-old carb work and 20-year-old tires enough to ride it home, or trailer it and start fresh on new rubber?

2010 MV Agusta Brutale 990R

Originally introduced right on the heels of the F4 as a naked companion model for riders with a more practical bent, the Brutale was a high-spec unfaired bike that shared the F4s frame, engine and high-quality running gear. At first, displacement matched the F4s 750cc, but lagged behind as that bike’s engine grew, supposedly because the F4s bigger engines “didn’t fit” into the Brutale’s frame as the development of the two bikes diverged, but more likely to keep the two models from competing. Or to keep the Brutale from killing its riders. But the bike did evolve, and 2010 saw the introduction of the MV Agusta Brutale 990R that displaced 998cc and produced 139hp and 78lb-ft of torque, a figure dwarfed by modern supernakeds, but pretty impressive considering the relatively raw nature of the bike and the primitive traction control systems of the era. Shockingly, this was actually the lower-spec version of the Brutale: there was also a 1078cc version available at the same time, dubbed the 1090RR, which seems like absolute overkill, but was probably entirely appropriate, given the bike’s name. Suspension was handled by a fat 50mm fully-adjustable Marzocchi fork, matched with a Sachs shock that was adjustable for preload only. The bike did feature an 8-level traction control system, but the 990R lacked a slipper clutch, although the 1090RR did feature one.

For Sale: MV Agusta Brutale 990R. My beloved MV Agusta Brutale is up for sale. These bikes have become increasingly rare, especially ones in excellent condition. Hand built in Varese, Italy, the 990R combines Massimo Tamburini’s iconic styling with a 998cc inline-four and a single sided swing arm. Some may know he designed the classic Ducati 916/996 and the MV Agusta F4 race bikes.

I fell in love with this model, saved for a year to buy it, and have kept it meticulously maintained in excellent condition. Very reliable, this is actually my second one and they have been amazing. Insanely georgious bike that looks amazing from every angle. This bike is an absolute blast — huge smile every mile. It turns heads everywhere, she gets so much attention, sounds like a Ferrari (with an engine designed by them), and delivers thrilling performance. It’s the fastest bike I’ve owned and a true Italian masterpiece: classic style with modern tech. Second owner and have only put an additional 1300 or so miles on it, so it’s not being ridden nearly enough. Cosmetically this bike is very clean.

Not a beginner bike.

While F4s have been creeping up in value, or at least in terms of asking prices anyway, the values of bikes like this MV Agusta Brutale 990R have remained very flat, although they’re not as common as they used to be. This one is clean, has low miles, includes some nice cosmetic upgrades, and appears to have been fastidiously maintained, a very important consideration when looking at used MV Agustas. Less than $6,000 gets you one of the most beautiful naked bikes of the modern era, with frankly pretty ludicrous power considering the relatively primitive state of rider aids at the time, and superlative handling. It’s obviously not the most practical motorcycle, but if you’ve got room in your garage for a fair-weather, wind-in-your-face screamer, act now and scoop this one up. They can’t possibly stay this cheap forever.

1996 MZ Skorpion 660 Sport

MZ or really “MuZ” was originally an East German motorcycle manufacturer famous for its two-stroke racing machines that were the first to feature expansion chambers on their exhaust systems, an innovation that fairly revolutionized two-stroke engine performance.The MZ Skorpion 660 Sport seen here was a part of an attempt in the 1990s to reinvent the brand by building a range of bikes around a common engine and frame. The Sport was, naturally the sportbike of the bunch, although there was also a limited-production Replika, the Mastiff supermoto, Baghira dual-sport, naked Tour, and Traveller sport-tourer. Which I just realized is a very interesting name for an East German motorcycle… Now I want one. The range shared a common lightweight steel tube frame and used Yamaha’s 660cc five-valve single, backed by a five-speed gearbox. Power was a modest 58hp but the bike only weighed 381lbs dry, and the single offered the fun, flexible performance you’d expect. Plenty found their way onto racetracks and were very popular in the Sound of Singles class.

The 1996 MZ 660 Skorpion Sport is a lightweight and easy to handle sport bike,

This is a Sport model, which got a half fairing and an interchangeable passenger seat and racing cowling.

It’s definitely a cult classic due to the racing successes in Europe. Remember Sound-of-Singles racing?

Far more agile and stable handling than your typical beginner bikes (Ninja, R3, CBR300, etc.). The bike always feels like on rails and is very confidence inspiring!

Due to the smaller size and low weight, it also makes for a great beginner and female rider’s bike. It is simple, reliable and has good power so you won’t outgrow it quickly.

For expert riders this bike is an absolute blast to ride on twisty roads and it is fun to embarrass much bigger and newer bikes with only 48 BHP.

It was built in Germany with a bulletproof Yamaha XT660 engine (48 Horsepower, 5 Speed transmission) and electrical systems, a British Sport chassis and premium brakes and suspension components, adjustable clip-ons and rear sets.

This MZ Skorpion 660 Sport isn’t a high-powered, high-dollar exotic, but a fun, very practical, versatile, easy to own sportbike that will draw plenty of attention at your local bike night. From me anyway: I think these things are really cool, like a modern-day Gilera, but with better parts availability. This particular example is far too nice to turn into a track-hack or racebike, and comes with some nice extras, including the original exhaust and a solo seat cowl. If you’re looking for a fun, unpretentious canyon bike with a bit of character that won’t break the bank, grab this one quick, as they don’t pop up for sale all that often.

Suzuki built this one to celebrate the millionth GSX-R rolling off the line. Worldwide production was capped at 1,985 units, and Suzuki only brought about 1,000 of them to America. So the seller’s “only 1000 made” isn’t off, it’s just talking US allocation instead of the global number. Either way, you’re not tripping over these at track days.

The visual cues are subtle if you don’t know what you’re looking at: red nose as a nod to the old Bol d’Or racers, gold forks, red fork caps and shock spring, black Brembo calipers with red lettering, and a numbered plaque on the top clamp. Mechanically it’s the same GSX-R1000 as any other ’13, so this isn’t about horsepower, it’s about having one of the thousand.

We featured one of these before, an unmolested low-mile example that told its own story with barely any seller info. Worth a look for more background on the model. This one’s the opposite end of the spectrum: 10,500 miles, Yoshimura full-length headers, and a Power Commander to sort the fueling. Somebody’s actually ridden this thing, not just parked it under a cover.

That’s the fork in the road with a limited edition. Bone stock keeps it a time capsule. A pipe and a PC make it a better bike to actually ride, but you’re trading away originality on something Suzuki only made a thousand of for this country. Neither choice is wrong. This one just tells you which owner it had.

Not much of a write up from the seller, but the photos carry it. Purple and grey paint still has its shine, chrome and switchgear look untouched, and that Yoshimura full system hanging off the back tells you this wasn’t a bike that just sat in a garage under a cover.

Here’s the piece of trivia worth knowing: 1993 was the last year Suzuki brought this faired Katana 1100 into the US. Factory code GSX1100F if you’re digging through parts fiche, though this one just wears “Katana” and “1100” like most of them do. Air/oil-cooled four, built off the GSX-R1100 bottom end but retuned with 34mm Mikuni flatslides for midrange grunt instead of top end screaming. This isn’t the bike you buy to chase a redline, it’s the one you buy to eat a few hundred highway miles and still want to ride home.

Two owners and 5,108 miles on a 33 year old bike is a genuinely low number, and the aftermarket pipe tells you somebody actually rode it enough to want a little more sound and a little less weight hanging off the subframe.

At $3,800 with these miles and that exhaust already done, this feels like fair money for a clean, honest example of the last US Katana.

2003 was it for the ZX-7R. Kawasaki built this thing as a homologation special starting back in 1991 to keep it legal for World Superbike, and it stayed carbureted its entire run, right up through this last model year, even as rivals like the Ducati 916 had already gone fuel injected almost a decade earlier. It never got the poster-bike fame of a 916 or an RC45, but it’s built a loyal following since.

Two owners and a seller who clearly put money into it before selling: new tires, new battery, carbs cleaned and synced, all the filters, fresh oil. That’s a good sign no matter the mileage.

The GB500 TT was Honda’s shot at building a modern classic before “modern classic” was even a category. Single cylinder, air-cooled, styled to look like it rolled out of the Isle of Man circa 1965 but built with 1989 reliability. Honda only made them for two model years, so a clean, stock, low-mile example is already starting from a small pool.

And this one is genuinely low mile. For context, a 17,000-mile GB500 TT sold at Mecum’s Las Vegas motorcycle auction in January 2024 for $4,500. This bike has less than a third of those miles and is asking a grand more, private sale, no buyer’s premium stacked on top. Clean examples with mileage in this range have been trading well north of that lately, so the math here works in the buyer’s favor.

Facebook Marketplace brings us something worth investigating.

The Deltabox V frame narrows this down to the 2004-2006 R1 generation, right in the middle of Graves Motorsports’ best years in AMA racing. Chuck Graves has been building race parts for the R1 since it launched in 1998, and the shop’s most famous stunt came in 2002, when Damon Buckmaster won the first three AMA Formula Xtreme races on a Graves-built Yamaha R7 before Honda and Suzuki protested it wasn’t properly homologated. Graves’ answer was to graft R1 bodywork and a 1078cc R1 motor onto the R7 chassis to satisfy the rulebook, and Buckmaster kept his wins and finished second in the championship that year. A couple seasons later, Graves-tuned Yamahas went 1-2 in the 2004 AMA Superstock championship, Aaron Gobert took the title with Jamie Hacking second, and in 2006 Hacking swept both Supersport and Superstock on a Graves Factory Yamaha, a double nobody had pulled off in almost twenty years. If this bike is running real Graves internals from that stretch, it’s wearing a resume that actually won races.

We’ve been burned by a “Graves” claim before. Worth a read on the one we covered a while back if you want a reminder of why that name on a listing needs receipts. This one at least backs up the claim with the Deltabox V frame and a factory Graves exhaust, more than the last one had going for it, but “trust me” is still doing a lot of the heavy lifting until more photos and some history show up.

At $6,000 with cash or trade on the table, and sitting up in Argyle, NY, this one won’t last if the story checks out.

2008 MV Agusta F4R 312

MV Agusta’s F4 represented the company’s triumphant return to motorcycle production, a gorgeous sportbike that incorporated exotic technology and race-bred engineering intended to make it competitive on both road and track. Unfortunately, it was also a 750cc machine launched into a world suddenly dominated by lightweight literbikes, and the F4 never really had a chance to shine. As it was, it really wasn’t functionally any better than a contemporary Suzuki GSX-R750, a bike that cost half the F4’s asking price at the time. The company quickly introduced faster versions with larger 998cc engines like this MV Agusta F4R 312, but the small company always had a hard time keeping up with the brutally rapid pace of superbike development and the F4 platform, while extremely rapid, competent, and achingly gorgeous, wasn’t truly on par performance-wise with the best from Japan. But that’s okay. Did I mention it’s achingly gorgeous?

You wouldn’t be alone if you thought the MV Agusta F4 was the world’s most beautiful motorcycle and the F4 R 312 was, when released in 2008, the world’s fastest motorcycle. That’s where the “312” in the name comes from – it’s the MV’s top speed in kilometers. In miles, it’s 193.87.

The extra grunt needed to set a speed record came from a combination of 30mm titanium intake valves, 48mm throttle bodies, and modified camshafts — all of which added nine horsepower (bringing the total up to 183 hp and 85 lb-ft of torque).

The 312 is complemented by top-notch components such as Brembo monobloc brakes, Marzocchi suspension, and Marchesini forged wheels. MV Agusta sent 150 units to the US per WSBK homologation rules – 50 in each of 3 color options: white with black, black with grey, and Corsa red with silver like the bike being offered here.

Manufactured in February 2007, this MV was purchased new from Munroe Motors in San Francisco, California in August 2007. The odometer shows 41,416 miles, it may increase slightly as being ridden each week.

After owning the bike for nearly 19 years, I am now retired at 67.5 years and rarely pilot sport motorcycles. The motorcycle rides fantastically, starting easily and delivering crisp throttle response and smooth, linear power across the entire rev range. Fast and smooth, it has never been raced and has had no accidents. It was last taken for a smooth 60 mile ride to the coast.

Fully maintained serviced; documented with all receipts from new. Maintenance performed from new as specified by the dealer and owners manual, with 86 pages of paper service receipts that have now been scanned to make available electronically.

A complete bottom-end (big end) MV Agusta partially paid rebuild was performed at 20,000 miles, followed by a comprehensive top-end rebuild at 25,000 miles, ensuring outstanding engine strength and longevity. Cylinder 4 has light piston noise at startup until warm, from full top end rebuild at 25K miles. The bike comes with over 80 pages of service history and receipts.

Full dealer major service costing $3,300 and additional parts was performed by Munroe Motors in June 2026. New plug on coil set was fitted, valve clearances, key systems, fluids, and mechanical components have been thoroughly inspected and refreshed.

The bike fell in the garden during a Christmas Day wash some years ago resulting in the side fairings being repainted. There is a 1/2″ long sealed vertical thin crack in nose fairing at screen join, minor wear on belly fairing by side stand. Minor blemishes on mirrors, wear on seat tank protector. Overall, the motorcycle looks cosmetically very good for its age and mileage, showcasing clean bodywork and beautiful paint that honors Tamburini’s iconic silhouette.

Accessories include Arrow RG3 exhaust, MV Corsa Race ECU, Power Commander III. Delivered 160 BHP at rear wheel in dyno test.

The sale includes 2 ignition keys, gas cap removal tool, the original tool kit, rear wheel stand, the original exhaust, original ECU, and the original gas cap, a workshop engine manual, workshop motorcycle manual, owner’s manual, and the world dealer guide.

First generation Massimo Tamburini bikes like this MV Agusta F4R 312 used to be available all the time for under $10,000, but those days are long gone. Recently, they seem to pop up only rarely, with sellers testing what the market will bear with mildly ambitious asking prices. Which makes this example a breath of fresh air. But there’s a catch: the bike has a surprising 41,000 miles on the odometer! Very few F4s reach that kind of mileage, as they really are pretty uncompromising to ride, and utterly intolerable in heavy traffic. Maintenance can be demanding and the bikes have a reputation for being unreliable, but the engineering is sound and this example has been meticulously maintained, so don’t immediately be put off. If you’ve always wanted one to ride, or keep forever and aren’t bothered by mileage, this one might be worth a look.
