Is it wrong to be in love with a radiator?

The info:

ULTRA RARE HRC Triple Stack World Superbike Radiator. This was purchased from the Honda WSB team at Laguna Seca in 1995. This is an extremely rare piece and I would be surprised if anyone has seen one for sale EVER. this was bought for a project bike by me years ago and the project went thru many changes and this piece was never used. The picture with the ruler shows the mount spacing for the two top mounts. I unfortunately lost the part number for this piece over the years so I do not have that.
This piece retailed from HRC to the privateer teams for $10,000. Yes that is correct, 10K!!!!!

I do remember reading that some radiators the Yoshimura bikes were using in the Mladin days ran around $12,000.

That damn thing is a work of art. The seller believes it will fit either an RC 30 or RC45. Given the year it was purchased, I’m guessing it is designed for an RC45. Anyone in the know?

Nobody said racers were the brightest bulbs.

How about a swing arm off of Josh Brooks’ 2010 HM Plant Honda CBR? Yeah, they will throw in the linkage as well. I’m guessing you are getting more strength while losing some weight.

While traveling through Belgium recently, I stopped in at the Auto World museum in Brussels. Auto World is a fantastic museum located in the historic Parc du Cinquantenaire complex. Everything in Europe appears to be steeped in history, and the Cinquantenaire Park is no different. The construction of the Cinquantenaire Park complex occurred in the second half of King Leopold II’s reign and took decades to complete (construction started in 1880). Intended as a world expo to showcase Belgian artists, production and industry, the museum on the site today shows more than 200 cars from a variety of eras.

One of the most interesting displays was not a display at all. Sitting somewhat forlorn in an upstairs corner of the massive facility, this Honda NR750 was devoid of any information, placards or other forms of display. The NR was apparently a gem to be discovered by only a few.

There is no indication as to the history or ownership of the bike. There was no indication it was for sale, how it came to the museum or its ultimate fate. One should hope that it gains a more prominent showing in the future, repleat with the occasional ride to keep all the internal workings in order.

This bike exhibited some rash along the right hand side, consistent with a low-speed tipover. It brought to mind the following video posted years ago on youtube. The damage incurred was the same side, and similar in nature. Could the bike in the museum and the bike in the video be the same unlucky NR?

I left the museum without any answers, but I thought the international nature of RSBFS might be able to shed some light on this one. Do any of our readers know anything about this Belgian find? Some of the photos shown here were actually found on the internet, so at least a few folks caught a glimpse of this one. The NR750 was definitely the highlight of the auto museum visit, and goes to show you never know when you are going to stumble onto a truly rare find such as this.

If you look through the photos of this bike, one thing becomes very apparent. The build quality of this bike is outstanding. It is probably no surprise for folks that are fans of BMW bikes to begin with, but the HP2 Sport is above and beyond even BMW’s standards. Just look at the parts on this thing. Precision aluminum all over the place (the triple clamp is stunning, just to start) and carbon fiber bits to keep you light and strong. A really beautiful bike across the board.

The downward sloping machined upper fork support is indicative of the quality found throughout this motorcycle.  This bike is like new, never seen a track and has been treated like the collector’s item it is.  As you will see from the price sheet, it does not have ABS.  It does include BMW’s aftermarket LED turn indicators and the currently uninstalled BMW aftermarket GP pattern quick-shifter.  As you will see from the pictures, I have installed a standard shift connector rod as I found the transmission to be smoothest in this configuration.  Unfortunately, the standard quick-shifter was misplaced and is not included in this sale.  Also included is the complete original tool kit, the plastic duplicate key, the owner’s manual, a BMW repair manual on DVD and a BMW aftermarket spark plug wire puller.  The ultra lightweight Shorai battery is brand new.  I mounted and balanced the Michelin Pilot Pures. The stock mirrors give a fine view of your arms, so I added the CRG bar end mirrors. The stock mirrors are available.  Just to be clear, the Pitbull stands in the pictures are not included. 

I am the second owner of this motorcycle.  I purchased it from Hebert Cycles, the original dealer, and met the first owner who put about 2,000 miles on it in about two years.  The original tires were still on the bike when I bought it, and were in remarkably good shape with plenty of tread and wide unused strips on both sides of the rear tire. 

The seller describes some of the changes on the bike, like the bar-end mirrors, but the originals are available. The bike does not have ABS and the quick shift has apparently been misplaced. The bike has low mileage and appears to be in excellent condition. The seller also includes a photo of the invoice and you can see the MSRP on one of these is not cheap. You get what you pay for, apparently.

So if you’re looking for one, this may be your ticket. You could bring one home for significantly less than buying new. Or if you want something that’s an amazing machine and a little different than other options, this may work too.

An eagle eyed RSBFS reader spotted this lonesome picture of an RGV looking for a new home and sent it our way.  Normally I’d skip posting a bike with a single photo but this darn thing has everything a perspective RGV owner would be looking for.  It has low mileage, is close to stock but derestricted, is titled and the asking price is sane.

Now, the ad states the mileage is 2,400 miles.  I’m going to assume that is not correct since the engine has been rebuilt and it needed new running gear.  I know this paint scheme is not one of Suzuki’s greatest achievements but fluorescent colors are back baby, if you haven’t noticed. On the bright side (get it?) it does have the “gull” arm everyone likes.  The chambers may indeed be Sugaya’s but the mufflers usually attach with springs.  It is a common mod to add a plate so they can accept modern mufflers.

What better way to celebrate a US national holiday than by drooling over a bike that never made it to these shores in the first place? Today’s machine is an all original Yamaha RZ500 – stone stock as claimed by the seller – with only 25,000 KM on the clocks.

The RZ500 was the GP fantasy bike for the everyman – provided you resided in a country where these grand machines were imported. With 500cc of V4, two-stroke goodness, the RZ delivered on the promise of performance and noise. Pitted agains the likes of the Suzuki RG500 Gamma and the Honda NS400R, the RZ500 held up well and continues to be a dream bike for many.

From the seller:
I am a long time bike collector and am paring down my collection. What you are bidding on is an unmolested survivor from 1985. It has the original turn signals, reflectors, exhaust pipes, wheels, forks, fairing, and air boxes. It also has the solo seat cover with the 2 up seat underneath. It is as close to box stock as you are likely to find. Most have had the fairing, forks, wheels, pipes, and all sorts of things replaced, repaired, or modified. The only changes from stock are an aftermarket windshield and stainless steel brake lines. There is a crack in the tab that holds the solo seat cover on that is shown in the photograph. There is a small crack above the right mirror that didn’t show up well in the photos.

RZ500s do not come cheap. Prices have risen considerably in years past, and a plated and titled stocker is worth its weight in gold. Given, the plates and title do not mean a thing for the few million residents of California, but for most of the nation this is a real grey market bike that you can own, register and ride.

We must be getting nearer to Christmas, because we just found *another* MV Agusta Senna Edition F4 for sale! It seems that we are seeing a few more of these ultra exclusive (only 300 numbered editions were created) machines lately, and that is just fine by me. In case you missed the last two, you can see them HERE and HERE.

Like most of the super-exclusive artwork we tend to drool over, this one has not seen much use. Heck, it isn’t even near break-in mileage. And while I have had bikes in my garage that I did not put a lot of miles on, that was more my fault for not getting out and riding them than it was wanting to “protect” them. I don’t think I would want to own someting I couldn’t put mileage on – that would be a torture I just couldn’t live with. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

The Senna Edition model, as told before, differs from the “plain Jane” MV Agusta F4 with a distinct color scheme and branding, a higher redline (raised slightly to 13,900 RPM), giving the Senna a higher top speed, upgraded suspension bits, distinct wheels, and bodywork formed in carbon fiber. All of this is topped off with an exclusive number plate on the top of the triple clamps. Proceeds from the original sales were shared with the Senna Foundation, which looks after impoverished children in Brazil.

There is not a lot of info from the seller on this bike, but the pictures show a pretty clean machine with very low miles. The auction has opened with a starting bid of $22,500, and a BIN of $27,000 (!). This might be a bit high given the last batch of Senna Editions we have seen, but after all it is Christmas! Now I must admit that an ex-Scott Russell bike with a Jamie James built motor would probably bring in more than a garden variety track day R1. And that is where I could use some help from the knowledgeable readers of RSBFS. I know that Russell came out of retirement in 2008 to ride Daytona and a few other races – aboard a Yamaha. But nowhere can I find pics of Russell on a bike with this livery or number. It could be that the skins were changed out, and underneath the paint is the actual steed ridden by the AMA star – but it would sure help if the seller offered some additional historical data on that point.
