Angelina The Malificent

Angelina Jolie could soon play a famous Disney villain on the big screen. The actress is in talks to assume the role of Maleficent, the wicked fairy godmother, in a live-action remake of Sleeping Beauty to be directed by Tim Burton.

Both Tim Burton and Angelina Jolie had been rumored last spring to join Disney’s project, which has been kicking around for a while as a way to mine its library, among other things. Burton’s involvement remains unclear as he is contemplating several projects. But rumors are getting a little bit loud that Jolie is keen on the film and would like to sign on to play the titular villain.

Though, there’s no deal yet and Disney is declining to comment. But this idea of taking on a role that’s both live-action and actor-friendly, still whimsical and delicate, could mark a refreshing change for Angelina. What do you think? It would be quite interesting to see hot Angelina in a playing the wicked witch of Disney!!

Yes Olympias sent a spirit to stop Alexander's attack on her, but it had a mind of it's own and took his worse fault, his drinking to stop him, which irregardless of the outcome, it did stop him permanently. Which Olympias never wanted....She just wanted him to stop.

I said last year on my other blog Alexander Rising that I knew where Alexander is buried. I didn't say where so my little digger friend wouldn't go snooping around. But I think it's fair to say that something may get out without his help.

So you thought contacting the dead was a fun past time? Ouija Boards and trances and all. And now you're having problems around the house. Things are 'really' going bump in the night now. Well, stupid, you opened a portal. You tried to contact the dearly departed and now they won't go away. What do you do? Call Ghostbusters? They won't help. How about a Priest? Naw.

So what can you do? Well you can throw away the implement you used that started this. You can throw away everything, images too, of the person you called up. You can get rid of all your electronic devices that they are drawn to and can use.

BUT

We are assuming they are who they say they are. You see my little chimpie you could have called up ANY spirit and they are masquerading as your long lost loved one. Then in that case, since you let them in.....Forget it. They are there till they get board with you.

You might take into account that there are millions of you little monkey's doing this same stuff and they have thinned the veil that separates the spirit and the physical worlds....And sweeties there are nasty things over there that rival anything Hollywood could come up with....And you have done it to yourselves....Oh well!

Hilariously, considering its status either as a channel to the dead or the play thing of drunk fratboys, the Ouija board was actually popularised by boardgame company Parker Brothers, of Monopoly and Cludeo fame. Indeed, it now has the copyright on that term.

Of course, the spirit board had form before 1890 but it was the US Spiritualist Movement that kickstarted its popularity, or infamy, in the west.

And it seems that feeling still continues as Mad Monkey Militia has just announced its iPad exclusive SpiritPad: The Oracle will be an April 3rd launch title.

Describing it as a "multiplayer board game with a supernatural twist", it seems not to be taking the phenomenon too seriously, though.

It will also be interesting to see if Apple's approval police have something to say about it, considering the controversy in many part of the US concerning such things.

Well, that settles that, then. Warner Bros. has just announced that Anne Hathaway has won the race to star in The Dark Knight Rises... as Selina Kyle. Also known as Catwoman. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story," said director Christopher Nolan in a press release.

And, in the same release, WB and Christopher Nolan confirmed that the role Tom Hardy will play in the eagerly-awaited Batman threequel is Bane, the muscle-bound super-steroidal freak who, in the comics, once broke Batman's back. “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”

This represents a flood of information for a Christopher Nolan Bat-movie, and gives us plenty to chew on. We can't wait to see Nolan's take on the twisted relationship between Batman and the capricious Cat - and Hathaway certainly has the chops, and the curves, to fill out the catsuit. Intriguingly, Catwoman isn't mentioned in the WB press release, but with Nolan openly admitting that this is the end of his Bat-tale, it's hard to imagine that Kyle won't become Catwoman at some point in the film.

Still, heck of a year for Hathaway, what with this and her gig hosting the Oscars...

Bane is more interesting. Once again, Nolan is going down the multiple villains route - as he did with Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins, and The Joker and Two-Face in The Dark Knight. But we're intrigued by what he and the magnificent Hardy will bring to the role of Bane, a character who could be laughable in the wrong hands (see Batman & Robin for proof). Will this Bane be more cerebral than the grunting hulk of Schumacherville? Or will he represent the first very real physical threat to Christian Bale's Bat in the trilogy?

Update: As some have pointed out, Bane in the comics is far from a grunting hulk, but a schemer who just happens to have more muscles than your average issue of Men's Health. So, when it comes to battling The Bat, he could have the perfect combination of brains and brawn...

So, what do you think? Happy with these choices? Has the Caped Crusader got enough on his plate with Catwoman and Bane to contend with, or does Nolan have another villainous surprise up his sleeve?

Humans automatically, as a survival technique I suppose, try to dismiss anything out of the ordinary. But when dealing with the dark, this rule doesn't much matter. An Ostrich can stick it's head in the sand, but it doesn't mean it's not there, and ready to bite it's victim in it's butt.

Let's take Ronni Chasen as an example, She had been in contact with someone who by happen stance had something to do with the Pact Makers, that last night. Then she is dead.

Cause and effect says that if a Pact Maker is at the term of a contract a series of unfortunate events will swirl around them. Most time the Pact Maker, blames everyone else for their misfortune. These mal-events can happen to anyone of weak spirit and lets the Pact Maker gain a bit more time.

A bright full moon on a dark, clear night is always an impressive sight, but did you know that each full moon of the year has its own name? Sometimes, the full moon of each month even has more than one name, all of which originated in antiquity.
Full moon names date back to Native Americans living in what is now the northern and eastern United States. Those tribes of a few hundred years ago kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred.
There were some variations in the full moon names, but in general the same ones were current throughout the Algonquin tribes from New England on west to Lake Superior. European settlers followed their own customs and created some of their own names. [Gallery: Our Changing Moon]
Since the lunar ("synodic") month is roughly 29.5 days in length on average, the dates of the full moon shift from year to year.
Here is a look at of the full moon names for 2011, as well as the dates and times for peak moon observing . Unless otherwise noted, all times are for the Eastern Time Zone:
Jan. 19, 4:21 p.m. EST – Full Wolf Moon: Amid the zero cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. The Full Wolf Moon was also known as the Old Moon or the Moon After Yule. In some tribes, this was also known as the Full Snow Moon; most applied that name to the next moon. (Oh Regis---Your Such A Devil!...It's been full for two days now...How many days will it stay that way????.....Let's see.)
Feb. 18, 3:36 a.m. EST – Full Snow Moon: Usually the heaviest snows fall in this month. Hunting becomes very difficult, and hence to some tribes this was known as the Full Hunger Moon.
Mar. 19, 2:10 p.m. EDT – Full Worm Moon: In this month, the ground softens and the earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of the robins.
The more northern tribes knew this as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signals the end of winter, or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. TheFull Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation.
The moon will also arrive at perigee only 50 minutes later at 3:00 p.m. EDT at a distance of 221,565 miles (356,575 kilometers) from Earth. So this is the biggest full moon of 2011. Very high ocean tides can be expected during the next two or three days, thanks to the coincidence of perigee with full moon.
Apr. 17, 10:44 p.m. EDT – Full Pink Moon: The grass pink or wild ground phlox is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names were the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon and –– the Full Fish Moon, when the shad come upstream to spawn. among coastal tribes
In 2011, this is also the Paschal Full Moon; the first full moon of the spring season. The first Sunday following the Paschal Moon is Easter Sunday, which indeed will be observed one week later on Sunday, April 24. This, incidentally, is just one day shy of the latest date that Easter can fall.
May 17, 7:09 a.m. EDT – Full Flower Moon: Flowers are now abundant everywhere. This moon was also known as the Full Corn Planting Moon or the Milk Moon.
Jun. 15, 4:14 p.m. EDT – Full Strawberry Moon: Strawberry picking season peaks during this month. Europeans called this the Rose Moon. There will be also be a total lunar eclipse that will be visible across much of South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Totality will last an unusually long length of time: 1 hour 40 minutes.
Jul. 15, 2:40 a.m. EDT – Full Buck Moon: when the new antlers of buck deer push out from their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, thunderstorms being now most frequent. Sometimes it's also called the Full Hay Moon.
Aug. 13, 2:57 p.m. EDT – Full Sturgeon Moon: When this large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water like Lake Champlain is most readily caught. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because when the moon rises it looks reddish through sultry haze, or the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.
The occurrence of this full moon on this particular date is rather poor timing for those who enjoy the annual performance of the Perseid meteor shower; this display will peak on this very same day and the brilliant light of the moon will likely wash out all but the very brightest of these swift streaks of light.
Sep. 12, 5:27 a.m. EDT – Full Harvest Moon: Traditionally, this designation goes to the full moon that occurs closest to the autumnal (fall) equinox. The Harvest Moon usually comes in September in the Northern Hemisphere, but (on average) once or twice a decade it will fall in early October.
At the peak of the harvest, farmers can work into the night by the light of this moon. Usually the moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night – just 25 to 30 minutes later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of Canada and Europe. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans and wild rice – the chief Indian staples – are now ready for gathering.
Oct. 11, 10:06 p.m. EDT – Full Hunters' Moon: With the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it's now time to hunt. Since the fields have been reaped, hunters can ride over the stubble, and can more easily see the fox, as well as other animals, which can be caught for a Thanksgiving banquet after the harvest.
Since the moon arrives at apogee about 10 hours later, this will also be the smallest full moon of 2011. In terms of apparent size, it will appear 12.3 percent smaller than the full moon of Mar.19.
Nov. 10, 3:16 p.m. EST – Full Beaver Moon: At this point of the year, it's time to set beaver traps before the swamps freeze to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon come from the fact that the beavers are now active in their preparation for winter. It's also called the Frosty Moon.
Dec. 10, 9:36 a.m. EST – Full Cold Moon: On occasion, this moon was also called the Moon Before Yule. December is also the month the winter cold fastens its grip.
Sometimes this moon is referred to as the Full Long Nights Moon, and the term "Long Night" Moon is a very appropriate name because the nights are now indeed long and the moon is above the horizon a long time. This particular full moon makes its highest arc across the sky because it's diametrically opposite to the low sun.
Last, but certainly not least, this will also be the night of a total lunar eclipse.Viewers across the western United States and Western Canada can catch the total phase before the moon sets. Alaska and Hawaii can see the entire event from start to finish. Central and Eastern Asia and Australia are also well placed for viewing this eclipse (where the calendar date will read Dec. 11). Totality lasts 51 minutes.
