With The Rock expected back at Survivor Series, I don't think Cena will be focussing on the title over the next month, so I'm going to go with interference costing Cena.

RawDealPrediction: Alberto Del Rio

CM Punk vs Triple H

I'd say if you don't want to see spoilers look away now, only that pretty much everyone knows that Kevin Nash is going to make an appearence tonight. Question is, will he seek revenge on Punk for his comments? Or get revenge on Triple H for firing him? Assuming the WWE doesn't intend on pissing off all of it's viewers by having Triple H pull out of the fight (backstage incident, urgent business etc) and Nash replacing him, I'm going to have to say Nash interference will end up costing The Game.

RawDealPrediction: CM Punk

Thoughts? Del Rio isn't happy with the Canadian fans booing him. Del Rio says everyone made fun of him last week when Cena hit him with an Attitude Adjustment. Del Rio says he is the undisputed WWE Champion and no one makes him of him. The crowd boo's. Del Rio talks about taking out Rey Mysterio and takes credit for Edge having to retire. Del Rio says he beat CM Punk and will beat Cena at Night of Champions so the people better stop making fun of him. Del Rio declares himself champion again and the greatest of the great. Bret Hart's music hits and out comes The Hitman to a big pop from the crowd.

The crowd roars as Bret enters the ring. Bret says he didn't come to disrespect Del Rio, he came to give him some good advice, a little education. Bret says when he looks at Del Rio, he sees a man who doesn't know what it means to be a world champion. Del Rio goes to threaten Bret but Bret cuts him off. Bret says Del Rio is all style and no substance. He says Bret needs to become a real champion, a man with pride who faces all challenges and wrestles in day in, day out. Del Rio says Bret looks like a bum, a homeless person with his 1994 jacket and his greasy hair, his pathetic shirts. Del Rio says Bret looks like one of those illegal Canadians he hires to clean his house. Del Rio says he is the best there is, not Bret. He is the WWE Champion and tonight, he will make an example out of Bret.

John Cena's music hits and out he comes to a nice reaction from the crowd. Cena puts Del Rio down and says he runs like a coward. Cena tells Del Rio to hop back in his Ferrari and be gone because he is the WWE Champion... for just 6 more days. They both want to fight tonight it seems. But Del Rio puts Ricardo Rodriguez up and says it's the match everyone wants to see. Cena hit Del Rio a few weeks ago and tonight, Ricardo wants to make him pay. Ricardo isn't acting like he does though. Cena runs Del Rio down some more and proposes that Del Rio put the WWE Title on the line against Bret Hart tonight. The crowd chants for Bret. John Laurinaitis appears on the stage and Cena mocks him. Laurinaitis introduces himself and gets boo'd. On behalf of Triple H, he says, they're going to give everyone what they want to see - a tag team match. Del Rio and Rodriguez vs. Cena and Hart tonight. Truth and Miz come walking out to the stage.

Truth rambles on about Triple H as they head to the ring. He says they should be in the main event of every WWE pay-per-view. Vickie says that's unfair. She sees Kelly Kelly and asks what she's looking at. Kelly says Teddy might listen to her if she wasn't so... nothing. Vickie calls her a Barbie doll and a pathetic Divas Champion. Vickie can't wait until Beth Phoenix beats Kelly on Sunday. Vickie says even she could beat Kelly. The crowd chants for Punk some more.

Triple H says his opinion doesn't matter and Punk needs to worry about the fan opinions. Triple H says Punk thought he was being held back for the first six years when he wasn't getting reactions like that. Triple H says when you win the fan opinions, you get what you want. Triple H says you won't have to make calls to get on a 7 Eleven cup, 7 Eleven will call WWE and demand he be on it. Punk responds and asks where his WWE ice cream bars are? The crowd pops at this.

Punk tells a story from 2006 before his first pay-per-view at Survivor Series where he was on a team with DX. Punk says the people in Philadelphia weren't chanting for DX, they were chanting... the crowd starts chanting his name. Punk says the story doesn't have a happy ending because that was the first time he grabbed the imaginary brass ring and went it went nowhere. Punk would rather be hated for what he is as opposed to loved for what he's not. Triple H brings up that Punk has been in main events, won Money in the Bank and world titles. Triple H says maybe Punk isn't as good as he thought he was, maybe he isn't the best in the world. Triple H brings up Punk's story on John Cena from last week. Triple H puts over Cena big time and the crowd boo's. Triple H says the fact remains true - Cena sells out arenas all over the world and he has done it on his own, by winning the fans over. Triple H says Punk needs to worry about the fans opinions all the time. Triple H says sometimes he looks at a guy and doesn't think he will be anything but that guy turns out to be a John Cena. Triple H says all Punk has to do is win the fans over. Punk asks Triple H if he is hearing this. Don't tell him he has to win the fans over. Triple H says today they are chanting his name, last year - not so much. Triple H says Punk is just now getting the people. Punk says he has earned everything he's got in the last 6 years. Punk says he busted his ass and sacrificed for this business. Triple H goes on and says this isn't business, it's personal because Punk turned it into a personal issue. Triple H says Punk won't step in the ring with the muli-time World Champion, not the COO, not the business man and not The Game on Sunday. He will step into the ring with a man, a man that will kick his ass.

Punk says he is dead wrong and this isn't about John Cena. Punk says he is the best. Punk says he's going to kick Triple H's ass also, pin him 1-2-3 and make him go to sleep. Punk says it's going to be so satisfying to him. Punk says this is Phil Brooks talking to Paul Levesque. Punk goes on about why it's going to be satisfying to beat Triple H's ass when the mic gets cut out. Triple H tells Punk to say it to him. Triple H gets the mic going again. Punk starts talking and it's cut out again. Triple H demands a mic and asks a producer what the hell is going on. Punk decks Triple H with the mic and he goes down. Punk throws a crotch chop at Triple H as the crowd pops and he leaves the ring to his name being chanted. Punk walks up the ramp smiling as Triple H recovers in the ring and RAW goes off the air.

Raw Deal Reaction:
There were many things good about this week's RAW and many things bad. Alberto Del Rio's character really irritates me, so opening the show put me in a bad frame of mind already, Bret Hart comes out and reminds me of the glory days of wrestling, sure he botched parts of his promo but who cares it's Bret frickin Hart. Then we get the Cena show *yawn* and Laurinaitis comes out *cocks pistol*.

Ziggler is a great talent as is Morrison so these two were great, the Swagger/Ziggler rivalry over Guerrero is pretty decent.

The Miz was AWESOME, even by taking the WWE cover off the microphone and putting it back on upside down gives his character so much likability. Miz and Kofi was also a solid match, again I think the two are very good talents and enjoy seeing them perform, though I'm still not convinced about the Miz/Truth partnership.

AGAIN, we see Lawler on a SUPERSHOW - it quite frankly pisses me off to see talent go to waste in favour of a Lawler match, frankly it also took away from Sheamus so it is doubly frustrating.

The Cena/Hart vs Del Rio/Rodriguez match felt like filler to me and also Del Rio came out of it looking super weak, the last thing you want before a title match.

Kelly Kelly vs Vickie was painful to watch! Sure, Kelly is stunning but fact is she's not got sufficient ring ability and by having a match with Vickie Guerrero before defending the title really is pointless, why not continue the feud with Phoenix to actually "build" to something?

Orton vs Rhodes was okay, poor for a main event in my opinion and I still can't put Henry over.

The final segment saved it for me, oh thank god for great promo skills. Even though there never seemed to be a point to the conversation at all, with Triple H constantly saying the fans put you over...the fact we got to see even ounces of spark saved the show, though it was still really poor considering it is a supershow and the last RAW before the PPV. Hmmmmm.

[ Results Source: ProWrestling.com ]

Kevin Nash "Released"

WWE has announced the release of Kevin Nash as of Monday, September 5th.

WWE's statement reads: "WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Kevin Nash as of Monday, Sept. 5, 2011. Triple H says maybe they were friends and definitely he's fired. Triple H drops the mic and leaves the ring as Nash sits in the ring. Punk laughs at Nash and wishes him the best in his future endeavors as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and we see Kevin Nash walking to a limousine backstage. John Laurinaitis gets in it with him and they drive off.

Air Boom vs. The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal
We go to the ring and out come the WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston. Out next come their opponents, Jinder Mahal and The Great Khali.

Jinder and Bourne start things off. Jinder works Bourne over but gets taken down with a headscissors. Bourne comes back with kicks but Mahal drops him with a big knee. Mahal comes back with a 2 count and tags in Khali for a little bit of double teaming. Khali drops Bourne with a big right hand. Khali kicks Bourne down in the corner and puts the boot to him. Khali with big chops and a tag to Mahal.

Mahal drops a series of big knee drops on Bourne. Bourne blocks a shot and tags in Kofi. Kofi comes in from up high and unloads on Mahal. Kofi with a dropkick and a big right hand. Kofi runs the ropes but Khali pulls them down and he goes to the floor. Khali throws Kofi back in. Mahal holds him as Khali goes for the big overhand shot. Del Rio is sent out of the ring and into Ricardo's arms. Del Rio and Cena stare each other down as RAW goes off the air.

Raw Deal Reaction:
Why build up to something happening between Kevin Nash, CM Punk and Triple H and then decide to "fire" Kevin Nash? Even Stevie Wonder can see there's going to be some sort of Nash involvement in Night of Champions now! Also another fantastic idea to combine Raw and Smackdown starts...and then have Jerry 'The King' Lawler wrestle, makes total sense. I like the Ziggler/Swagger feud though it's not really being actioned to its full potential and to have Miz now teaming with R-Truth for the tag titles after having main evented Mania last year is rediculous. Add to the mix the fact that I can't stand either Cena or Del Rio results in a completely lackluster Raw. WWE, what ARE you thinking?

WWE TV Network: Coming 2012

Two years after beginning to talk about WWE TV Network plans in interviews and stockholder/investor meetings, WWE formally announced plans for a WWE Network their viewing audience on Monday's Raw episode.

A video advertisement announced WWE Network will launch in 2012, but the month or season was not announced. WWE has said in previous investor meetings they're aiming for summer/fall 2012 - within the next year.

Broadcasting & Cable, a TV industry publication, quickly picked up on news of the TV announcement. B&C wrote: "No launch date was given in the promos, rather it just said the network would be coming in 2012. The ads included a mix of classic (think Andre The Giant) and current wrestling clips."

Shortly after the announcement, WWE issued a news release on their website promoting the Network:

As millions of WWE Universe members witnessed while watching WWE Raw SuperShow Monday night, something big is coming to WWE that will change not just the squared circle, but all of entertainment.

It’s the WWE Network. And, as the world learned this week, it’s on its way in 2012. All we know is that it’ll be a brand new day for watching the greatest matches, moments and Superstars in sports-entertainment history.

[ Source: PW Torch ]

WWE RAW Results - 29/08/2011

Tonight's WWE RAW kicks off with Michael Cole welcoming us to the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Not sure where the Old World Order is going but I'm glad that we don't have to see Nash wrestle on a WWE PPV again, though saving Punk and Triple H for Mania seems like a much better fit.

Brands Combine (Raw & Smackdown Merge)

At the beginning of Raw, Triple H announced the Raw and Smackdown brands both will be featured on Raw going forward and for the forseeable future. This is heading into next Monday's Labor Day edition of Raw, which is followed by Raw going head-to-head with NFL Week 1 on ESPN's Monday Night Football.

No matches or segments are officially advertised for Raw. TV commercials airing on USA Network are focused on potential resolution to the ongoing power struggle surrounding Triple H, Kevin Nash, John Laurinaitis, C.M. Punk, and McMahon Family.

WWE is advertising follow-up on the feud between WWE champion Alberto Del Rio and John Cena heading to Night of Champions in September. Cena is expected to have promo time to respond to Del Rio's end-of-the-show attack last week on Raw.

The feud between Punk and Nash will likely continue after Nash cost Punk the #1 contender match on last week's Raw. WWE will likely set up a Punk vs. Nash match based on their current feud.

Stars from the Smackdown brand will be part of Raw to promote Tuesday's live Smackdown episode. The BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla. is officially advertising World Hvt. champion Randy Orton, Christian, Mark Henry, Sheamus, and Sin Cara.

Let's hope we get some clarity on the Punk/Nash/Trips/Steph/Johnny angle and hopefully it wont result in Nash v Punk, is that too much to ask?

We'll find out soon enough!

Matt Hardy Hospitalised

Matt Hardy has been rushed to a North Carolina emergency room after he fell in his home.

This incident comes days after Matt Hardy was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after crashing his Corvette into a tree and was subsequently fired from TNA.

(Matt Hardy's Mugshot from his DWI arrest.)

Matt posted a concerning YouTube video after his release from the Police Station where he pans the camera around his trashed home breathing heavily and slurring his speech. Don't miss the one night when every championship will be on the line. Night of Champions kicks off September 18th 2011, let's have a look at some of the matches that might unfold.

WWE Championship: Alberto Del Rio vs John Cena

John Cena earned the Number #1 Contender shot on RAW which means that we will likely see Cena vs Del Rio at Night of Champions. But will it be a fair fight? Will anyone else get involved?

World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs Mark Henry

The unstoppable Mark Henry is the Number #1 Contender for the World Title, with Henry leaving a path of destruction, will the Viper be able to put a stop to his wrath?

CM Punk vs Kevin Nash

Nash cost Punk the Number #1 Contendership after he distracted him on RAW, surely the Voice of the Voiceless will be heard loud and clear when he seeks revenge on Nash? But will Triple H soon show his true colours?

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes vs Ezikiel Jackson

After beating Big Zeke to win the Intercontinental Championship on Smackdown! Cody Rhodes will surely have a target on his back, one that Jackson will surely be aiming for.

WWE United States Champtionship: Dolph Ziggler vs Jack Swagger

Vickie Guerrero has offered her services to Jack Swagger, much to the dislike of Ziggler, with both men vying for Vickie's attention, it looks like there's only one way to prove who deserves it more. Excuse Me!

WWE Divas Championship: Kelly Kelly vs Eve Torres

This one I am least certain about, however the friendship between Kelly and Eve is getting closer, but being friends with the champ doesn't win you the title, I wonder if Eve is soon going to realise this?

WWE Tag Team Championships: Tag Team Turmoil

In similar vein to last year's Tag Team Turmoil it would lead me to believe we will see a repeat this year, with the new team of Kofi and Bourne winning the titles, The Uso's wanting gold, Mike Mc & David O entitled to a rematch and the formation of Truth & Miz's conspiracy friendship...I expect to see these 4 teams duke it out at NOC.

Your thoughts?

WWE RAW Results - 22/08/2011

Tonight's WWE RAW kicks off with Justin Roberts introducing Ricardo Rodriguez in the ring from the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Punk says he's putting is name out there officially for a title shot. So does Cena. Del Rio says he is officially ignoring both of then. He defended his title last week so now it's time for him to celebrate, he says. But it won't happen here in front of these Canadians, he says. Del Rio tells Punk to stop crying. Triple H's music hits and out comes the COO.

Triple H tells Del Rio to take the smug look off his face because he's not here to protect him. Triple H says Del Rio has a match up next. He tells Cena and Punk that you can't just cash in a rematch clause when you want to. He says that's his job because he's the COO. He calls the shots. Triple H says it doesn't matter what they think because he runs the show. Triple H says Del Rio will defend the WWE Title at Night of Champions against the man who wins tonight's main event - CM Punk vs. John Cena. Punk, Del Rio and Cena all stare each other down as we go to commercial.

Alberto Del Rio vs. John Morrison

Back from commercial and WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio waits as John Morrison comes out for a non-title match. Cult of Personality hits and out comes CM Punk to the stage. Punk asks Nash to please not leave. Punk wants to know who sent the text message and wants to play a game of Clue. Was it Big Lazy with a giant tube of Just For Men? Or was it Triple H with his trusty sledgehammer? Maybe it was Stephanie McMahon with a candlestick in the library, or something, he says. Punk doesn't believe a word either man is saying. Punk says so he stepped over a few lines, Nash should know about that because he's a line stepper too. Triple H says if Punk crosses that line with him, he will leave him lay. Punk jokes that Triple H keeps his cell phone and his balls in Stephanie's purse. Out of nowhere Nash decks Punk with a right hand. This pisses Triple H off and he takes Nash out of the ring, up the ramp and to the back. Punk sits up in the ring and smiles as the crowd chants his name.

We get more hype for Punk vs. Cena tonight as we go to commercial. Bourne hits Air Bourne and covers Otunga for the win and the titles.

Winners and New WWE Tag Team Champions: Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston

Back from the break and Josh Matthews is backstage with Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne. Kofi speaks but soon gets splashed with ice by the RAW locker room and the celebration begins.

Triple H is backstage when John Laurinaitis runs up. He says the Canadian authorities have just told him Kevin Nash was in a car wreck and hands him the hospital information on a piece of paper. Triple H runs off as Laurinaitis watches and we go back to commercial.

Back from commercial and Santino Marella makes his way out. He's attacked from behind on the ramp by The Miz and R-Truth. They take him to the ring and continue the assault. Miz lays out Santino with a Skull Crushing Finale and asks for a mic. Truth says that's going to happen to Little Jimmy everytime. He's been saying there's a conspiracy in the WWE all along. Truth goes back and forth with the crowd as they "what?" him. Truth says Triple H, Nash, Punk, Cena and everyone else is all in on the conspiracy. Truth says now that Triple H is in charge, it's no longer about the truth. He tells Miz it's no longer about him either.

Miz says Truth is right, there is a conspiracy. Miz gets into it with the crowd also. He talks about main eventing WrestleMania. Miz says now that Triple H is in charge, he has to pick a fight with Jared from Subway just to do something. A "you suck" chant breaks out. Truth insults the crowd for being Canadian. Lots of heat here from the crowd. Miz says he's sick of seeing people like Santino Marella get a match on RAW. Miz says he and Truth are sick of it all. They're going to start taking opportunities. Truth says any and all opportunities that come their way, they're taking them. Truth says they're going to push back at any conspiracies that try to push them around and sooner later, everyone's going to get got. And that's the truth, the whole truth. Miz says that's awesome and Truth's new remix hits as they insult the crowd some more to the beat. Instead of "what's up?" they rap "you suck" to the fans.

We see CM Punk and John Cena headed to the ring as we go back to commercial.

#1 Contender's Match: CM Punk vs. John Cena

Back from the break and we see WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio sitting at ringside as is John Laurinaitis. We go to the ring and out first comes CM Punk. Out next comes John Cena. The winner of this one will face Del Rio at Night of Champions for the WWE Title.

Lots of playing to the crowd to start. The crowd throws Cena's t-shirt back to him. The bell rings and here we go. They finally lock up and Punk takes Cena to the mat first. They trade holds going back and forth on the mat before going back to their feet. They lock up again and Punk goes back to a headlock. Punk drops Cena with a shoulder. Cena leap frogs and takes Punk down with two shoulders and then the big back drop. Laurinaitis and the referee once again push Del Rio back as RAW goes off the air.

Raw Deal Reaction:
A somewhat jumbled Raw, the crowd again was hot for Punk and he is really getting himself over as a face now. It's really sad to see Miz relegated to such trivial parts of the show and aligning with Truth looks like a step in the wrong direction. Also the whole Punk/Nash storyline is losing momentum quickly, CM Punk is keeping me interested but for how much longer? As for Cena once again being in the title picture I can only echo Punk's words...is this a re-run?

Results Source: ProWrestling.com

Evolution of a Face

In light of CM Punk's recent surge of popularity with the WWE fans, it would appear that a new WWE Face is born. This feature looks at the history of WWE's biggest faces and how CM Punk's current style is breaking the mold.

Let's first look at WWE's first HUGE face, the Immortal Hulk Hogan. When Hulk first started in the WWE he was very green displaying limited wrestling ability wrestling under the monicker 'The Fabulous' Hulk Hogan. While Hulk's in-ring ability was limited, Hulk had great mic skills and a personality which came across well on TV.

The ultimate good guy, wholesome to the core, Hulk was always preaching that we should 'eat our vitamins' and 'say our prayers', to any parents watching the show, he was the type of person you wanted your children to look up to and as a result of the popularity boom due to the birth of Hulkamania, it was very rare we would see the Hulkster lose a match and on the rare occasion that he did, it would usually be to the Heel cheating or taking an unfair advantage.

In a nutshell, the Hulk Hogan era was great for the WWE, it allowed parents to feel safe knowing their kids had someone they could look up to, Hulk was a cash cow by selling the most merchandise and he was quick to become a household name even branching out into movies and commercials. However, after a certain point Hulk decided to make the jump over to WCW leaving Vince without a mega star to push as the top babyface. In step - Bret 'The Hitman' Hart.

Bret was similar to Hulk in many ways, he was very wholesome, always wanting to be a hero for kids and be someone honourable they could look up to. Bret was never the best on the microphone, he was good but he wasn't the type of character to be really energetic and flexing his muscles, Bret was always more of a laid back, cool type of guy which was polar opposite from Hulk. The biggest difference between the two however was the fact that Bret was the best wrestler in the world, the 'Excellence of Execution', Bret was a shoot wrestler with great submission skills and was so technically gifted he could put on a great match with anybody and make them look good.

Bret might not have sold as much merchandise as Hulk, be as big of a household name, or be starring in movies (unless you want to include his guest appearance in The Simpsons) but his wrestling ability was unparallelled having some of the best matches of all time. Bret did a great job of carrying the WWE on his back at a time when all of Vince's top talent was jumping ship to the opposition and beating the WWE in ratings. Carrying a company like WWE on your back is hard enough to do without fierce competition let alone when the company is crumbling around you.

However the wrestling audience began to change, tired of the tried and true method of good guy vs bad guy, the fans began to grow unrest with the good guy and thus the anti-hero was born. The anti-hero who started it all was 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

Stone Cold was born at the King of the Ring, having just defeated Jake Roberts in the finals who was using a bible-bashing gimmick at the time, Austin uttered the phrase 'you talk about your psalms, you talk about your John 3:16, well Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass'. This catchphrase was one of the most known in WWE history and instantly launched Austin into the spotlight and into top selling merchandise territory.

Austin, who was meant to be a heel began a feud with Hart who was at the time the company's biggest face. It was at Wrestlemania 13 where we saw a very rare double-turn. After Hart locked Austin in the sharpshooter, who was bleedong perfusely from his face, Austin passed out. Hart who was unsatisfied by the fact Austin never tapped decided to unleash further punishment on him by attacking him with a steel chair, this made Austin a face for never giving up and Hart a heel for attacking his foe while he was down.

Austin was a complete anti-hero, he never did anything wholesome, never did anything good and he was certainly not the type of character you would want your kids looking up to. But the thing with Austin was that he tapped into everyone's naughty side. Deep inside every one of us, there have been times when we'd like to kick our boss' ass, when we didn't want to obey the rules, when we just plain wanted to raise some hell - and Austin did that on a daily basis, much to the admiration of fans.

Eventually Austin's injuries got the better of him and along with the second biggest face 'The Rock', Austin left the WWE. I could include people like The Undertaker and Triple H in this column, however the focus is on the WWE's biggest faces - a void which the WWE had for a long time leading right up to John Cena.

The comparisons between Cena and Hogan are made constantly and in all honesty there is good reason. Cena has the five moves of doom, and limited ring work - like Hulk Hogan, he has a great physique and is a strong guy - like Hulk Hogan, he is charasmatic and great on the Mic - like Hulk Hogan, he is idolised by kids and sells the most merchandise - like Hulk Hogan and he is a role model for kids telling them to never back down - again, like Hulk Hogan.

It would appear that History has repeated itself and we have gone almost full circle, problem is that the fans are still the same as they were in the Attitude Era and frankly, the superman full fledged hero doesn't work in today's current product, yet the WWE have stuck with this angle for a long time to the point where Cena is forced down the throats of the Attitude Era fans.

Never before has the company's top face recieved such a mixed reaction. The crowd has always been a little mixed for Cena but in recent weeks, you can really start to hear more boos than cheers and it seems that the one guy who is taking those cheers for himself is CM Punk.

Unlike Punk following this cycle by being a Bret Hart character, instead he is a mix of both Bret and Stone Cold. He has great wrestling ability and is a technical and submission wrestler a la Bret Hart, however he is anti-establishment, he refuses to follow the rules and be a corporate slave like Austin. Combine this with one of the fastest selling T-Shirts of all time (so much so that they are currently out of stock and having to make more) it would appear that CM Punk is the new kid on the block.

Punk appeals to all of the adult males who are tired of Cena, cuts promos like no other and has really brought wrestling into the present with his use of social avenues and the internet to further this. For the first time in a long time, WWE has made people want to tune in to see what is going to happen, how far Punk will go this week and it makes for some great TV.

Was Cena as big as Hogan? No, he wasn't. Will Punk ever reach the heights of The Hitman or The Rattlesnake? Not likely, but for the first time in a long while we now have two Tweeners with Cena the top face for Kids and the Women and Punk the top face for the Men, talk about breaking the mould.

Who knows where this storyline is going, who knows what is to come? The fact that we don't is the reason why I am looking forward to Monday Nights now more than ever!

WWE Summerslam 2011: Results

WWE Summerslam 2011 kicks off with Tool playing the National Anthem. Overall the match was solid.

After the match, Kelly and Eve celebrate up the ramp as Natalya and Beth look on shocked from the ring.

We see Stephanie McMahon walking out of someone's locker room. Interesting to see Barrett pick up the win from the MITB holder. Makes me think we'll have to wait a while until Bryan cashes that in.

We get a special introduction for members of the California National Guard who are sitting at ringside.

We get a promo video for tonight's World Heavyweight Title match.

No Holds Barred Match for the World Heavyweight Title: Randy Orton vs. Christian

Out first comes the World Heavyweight Champion Christian. Not sure about the involvement of Edge or Nash but it does bring about a lot of questions.

Did Triple H have involvement in this through his Cliq days? Did Kevin Nash take offense that CM Punk never replied on Twitter? Is Nash now going to be Del Rio's bodyguard? Will we find out on RAW? Who knows!

Results Source: ProWrestling.com

WWE Summerslam 2011: Predictions

It's almost time for the Hottest Night in the Year, WWE SUMMERSLAM! With only five announced matches.

Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett

Oh how the mighty have fallen, the one time leader of Nexus and arch rival of John Cena, Wade Barrett isn't setting the world a light over on Smackdown. After 'The Corre' it doesn't seem like Barrett has a lot of direction at the moment and going up against the current Money in the Bank can only make me put this one down as a win for the Vegan "Nerd":

Prediction: Daniel Bryan

Sheamus vs Mark Henry

As with Wade Barrett, I miss seeing Sheamus on Monday Nights, it's good to see after the terrible King Sheamus storyline it looks as though he is finally being used in the right way, although seeing Sheamus as a face is a bit strange to me. If the WWE do this the right way they can really put over Sheamus by beating the wrecking machine that is Mark Henry. Do I think that will happen? I'm not so sure. There are plenty of ways this match can go, there could be a potential interference from Kane or Show but I'm going to hope WWE ceases this opportunity to put the Celtic Warrior back up to Main Event/Upper Mid Card Status.

Prediction: Sheamus

Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix

I personally don't see this match lasting too long, it's not realistic to have Kelly look even slightly threatening here, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Kelly will take some punishment and Beth will get cocky until Kelly almost pulls a fast one, however Beth will demolish Kelly for the win. If WWE wanted to really shake up the Diva Division I think they could have Natalya come down to "congratulate" Beth before turning on her and making an open challenge for the Divas title.

Prediction: Beth Phoenix

Christian vs Randy Orton (No Holds Barred)

This has been a decent feud but I think it's coming to an end sooner rather than later, with this match being No Holds Barred you have to give the Viper the advantage, I think we will see the Viper strike and once again the belt will change hands.

Prediction: Randy Orton

John Cena vs CM Punk (Special Referee: Triple H)

For this one I can honestly say, I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA, and that's what I love about this feud. It is such an interesting concept to not insult the fans, fact is most adult males dislike Cena because he is disgustingly good, the modern day man doesn't necessarily root for the hero, and Punk is the modern day man. I think there HAS to be some involvement from the COO in this match, but the question is, does Triple H screw Cena? Or does Triple H screw Punk? I'm not sure what kind of reaction each of them will get.

If Triple H screws Cena then suddenly that makes Punk a bad guy again, but if HHH screws Punk then that makes Cena a bad guy. I can honestly say I am really looking forward to this match!

Prediction: ???

WWE '12 Roster Revealed

With WWE Summerslam looming, THQ decided to add the cherry on top by revealing the roster for the new WWE video game WWE '12. It seems the WWE didn't want to announce the released wrestlers publicly and decided to slip them in on the website.

It has also been announced that Jerry 'The King' Lawler will DLC at launch.

Here is some in ring action to tide you over release, showing CM Punk vs John Cena:

You can get your hands on WWE '12 on November 22, 2011 in the USA or on November 25, 2011 in the UK!

Raw Deal Radio (WWE's Recent Roster Cuts)

Here is our very first Podcast! Plus, WWE COO Triple H will make a decision regarding the WWE Title controversy.

So, RAW is upon us again and we await the fallout of last week's Surprise return of CM Punk, new theme song and all. We find ourselves in quite an interesting situation this week as there are effectively TWO WWE Champions - but who is the rightful champion?

Triple H is promising to make a decision regarding the title picture, but I ask, what descision is there to be made? The champion is CM Punk, he won the belt at MITB and has yet to be defeated. You can have as many championship tournaments as you like but as Ric Flair said, if you want to be the man, you have to beat the man.

Let's face it, the decision is going to be Cena vs Punk at Summerslam to crown the rightful champion, but I for one hope that we see something a bit more interesting and unexpected than the obvious. Sure, Cena is owed a rematch due to the rematch clause, but can there be a rematch if the wrestler you are due to fight hasn't re-signed a contract? It will be interesting to see how WWE approach this, tune in tonight to see what goes down!

- TheKrow

Have something to say? Got a view to share? For the third consecutive year Summerlam comes live from the Staple Centre in LA on Sunday 14th August and it promises to go off with a bang!

With the recent CM Punk angle coupled with the WWE Championship tournament, coupled with the new Triple H Era, the WWE are certainly not showing us all of their cards - and it's about time too! In my honest opinion, one of the 'Big 4' - Summerslam has been rather lackluster in recent years and with the growing list of injuries mixed with the lack of major stars, I thought this year would be one of the worst in a long time...but I think I just might be wrong.

Let's look at what we could potentially have in store this summer:

1. CM Punk - Love him or hate him, this guy is one of the best in the business and his current storyline is up there with some of the most creative things the WWE has done in years. There is so much intrigue surrounding the title situation, whether Punk has signed a new deal, when he will next make an appearance and in my opinion, I don't think we will see the Chicago Made Punk until Summerslam. The WWE have really done something special as of late by incorporating the storylines into social media and the internet and it really is having a positive effect. Punk showing up at Comic-Con and cutting a promo was something special and I think we can expect to see a lot more appearances from Punk through a lot of avenues with a culmination at Summerlam by screwing up the Main Event (which I think could be Del Rio vs R-Truth vs Cena vs Rey) making sure that Punk is STILL the rightful champ as Summerslam goes off the air.

2. Triple H - We're about to enter a new era, the era of 'The Game'. I don't think Triple H will crown a new champ on RAW, in fact I don't think we will see a champ crowned until Summerslam. I'm not a gambling man, but I think one of the King of Kings' first orders of business will be to re-sign punk, so I can expect to see a lot of Triple H 'negotiating' with Punk, perhaps we will see Punk appear via satellite with the title? Who knows? But I think we will definitely be in for an altercation with H and Punk at Summerlam.

3. Orton vs Christian - After the terrible ending to the MITB title match, I think the story arc here will see Orton recapture the title in a No DQ match or finally 'Beat' his anger issues by winning clean at Summerslam.

4. Divas - Let's face it, it's Summerlam - chances are there will be some bikini clad divas at some point of the card and eye candy is eye candy right? On the Diva front, the Bellas have run their course in my opinion so the next logical step is to see Beth Phoenix turn on Kelly Kelly in the next week or two culminating in a Divas title match at Summerlam.

5. The Miz/Riley - This feud will need to be finished before it runs really dry and I can see Summerlam being the last blowout.

6. Dolph/Kofi - This feud has real potential. I think we are looking at two future champions right here. Kofi needs to improve his Mic skills and he will be right there, Dolph I feel is already Main Event worthy and if these two continue to have the opportunity to showcase their talents in an extended program I can see them making the step up sooner rather than later.

Well that's it for now, I might be way off the mark with my predictions but to be honest I really hope that I am and that WWE continue to surprise me!

- TheKrow
