But things get more complicated when you go out to eat because you must be prepared to order appropriately at a restaurant so you get good foods but foods that are in line with your raw foods diet way of life.

Show me the money...apologies - the raw foods restaurant
The first order of business that should rank high on your priorities early in your vegetarian career is to find and try all of the vegetarian restaurants in town. This list will come in handy when enjoying some social time with like minded vegetarians or to eat raw foods on the run or from work. Also these will be the kinds of restaurants where you can learn what kinds of raw food recipes to look for and what you will like in a vegetarian order.

Being a good raw foodist means being friendly
But you won't take all your raw food meals with other vegetarians. If you are like most of us, you share your life with friends, loved ones and coworkers who are not part of the vegetarian lifestyle. So learning to find good vegetarian alternatives in all of the restaurants is one of the skills you will become adept at the longer you remain a vegetarian which is hopefully for life. One trick is that if you have a vote in the kind of restaurant to choose, go Italian.

Cibo crudo ('raw food' in Italian)
Italian restaurants have pasta only menus, you can order an incredibly fresh salad and enjoy a fine dinner that is totally in step with your vegetarian raw foods diet rules. Any restaurant that already has a good selection of salads that are not set apart as vegetarian are a good choice because you can dine with your non-vegetarian friends and family members and not call attention to the differences between you and them. And since most restaurants have a good salad menu, that is always a fall back in any restaurant situation.

Lettuce Eat Raw!
A raw foods regimen is guided by avoiding milk, eggs, cheese or anything cooked in chicken or meat stock, you will have to kick your vigilance up a notch. The good news is that the vegetarian raw foods movement has become so large and wide spread that many restaurants want to accommodate their raw foods vegetarian customers. By letting your waiter know of your raw foods diet restrictions, he or she can guide you to the items on the menu that fit your requirements. It is not uncommon to see the manager or chef of the restaurant come to the table to help you make a satisfying raw foods diet choice. Restaurants are in the business of satisfying customers so they want to make sure you are happy with their menu offerings. And by enlisting the aid of your restaurant staff in a cooperative and friendly way, you send a positive message to your dining companions that you can live a vegetarian lifestyle and still be a happy member of the community in which you live.

Lettuce Eat Raw network...
Most of us have a short list of restaurants that we frequent often for satisfying raw foods meals on the go. But every restaurant you go to wants to be on that short list and make you a valued customer. So network with your vegetarian friends and do your homework up front to find out which restaurants do well at accommodating the lifestyle of their vegetarian raw foods customers. Then develop your strategy for handling any situation where you find yourself eating out so you can come out of that experience with a good raw foods meal that fits your lifestyle and not miss out on the great social times that we associate with the eating out experience.

Fever blisters and natural remedies

Fever blisters are due to an immune deficiency and a deficiency in B-vitamins especially B-12 and folic acid as well as a deficiency in calcium and lysine. Fever blisters are contagious and can be passed through kissing, or if the person with a fever blister touches it and then touches some other part of their body or another person. So it is best for the sufferer to wash their hands during a fever blister outbreak and avoid touching it.The only time to touch it is to pop it so it will drain and dry out apply a paste made from cornstarch add 2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil,spread the paste on the blister to help it heal faster usually within five days rather than 14 days. Replace your toothbrush when you feel the tingling sensation at the outbreak of an attack, after the blister breaks and when the sore is gone and be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after touching the sores.Don't use the same towels, razors or utensils as someone with cold sores. Some natural remedies I have found beneficial are:

Myrrh Try a tincture of myrrh to relieve the pain.

Sage Make a tea by adding two or three leaves to a cup of boiling water; steep; add one teaspoon of powdered ginger. Drink several cups a day until the sores are cleared up.

Tea Steep an ordinary tea bag (preferably Earl Grey) in boiling water for a few minutes; cool; then apply to lesions. Within four or five days the lesions should crust over and disappear.

Vaseline Vaseline will help ease cracking and dryness.

Yogurt Yogurt is high in lysine. Most commercial yogurts however have gelatin (may induce a cold sore outbreak) as a thickener, so make sure you read the label! Natural food stores carry gelatin-free yogurts I found this info on: http://www.health911.com/cold_sores

But as always an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure so practice relaxation techniques to help you during stressful situations and boost your immune system by taking echinacea and goldenseal as well as vitamin c or adding garlic and onion to the foods you eat. There are certain foods when eaten raw or closest to raw (blanched or steamed for example) will inhibit the future breakout of fever blisters such as Broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and bok choy contain an active ingredient known as the indole-3-carbinol. Foods high in lysine are: Papaya, Beets, Mango, Apricot, Apple, Pear. Individuals consuming these foods daily have had fewer breakouts in fact since I have begun eating raw within the past year I have not had a breakout whereas before I went raw I used to have one at least twice a year. ...by Chelyah :)

Half a billion eggs? But the most important organ involved in the detox process is the colon. When eating raw the body detoxifies by sending all of the cellular debris and waste into our elimination systems like the skin,the blood,the kidney,and the colon; all debris from the cells,blood etc are sent to the colon so that it can be eliminated. But when you are a raw foodist you are on a continuous cleanse sometimes the colon does not eliminate as fast as we cleanse. This is why detoxifying the colon is strongly advised for a prosperous raw foodist lifestyle.

There are many ways in which to cleanse the colon but the first and best way to do this is through the use of water to penetrate the colon and eradicate( get rid of) the waste that is hiding there thus allowing the body to relax and focus on healing rather than mostly cleansing. Cleansing can be taxing on the body when the colon isn't functioning properly helping it to eliminate toxins that are stored throughout our systems.

Begin by drinking just water for 24 hrs.On the second day you can eat fruit and vegetable juices and slowly introduce whole fruits and vegetables. Also on the second day a very beneficial colon cleanse is the coffee enema. The coffee enema cleanses the liver through the colon; the liver is a major blood reservoir,forming and storing red blood cells, and filtering toxins at a rate of a quart of blood per minute. There are many ways to do a coffee enema the one I have found most comprehensive is the following. First drink some chlorella lemonade from one lemon, water, and two teaspoons of chlorella powder( can be purchased at adamshiddentreasures.com) sweeten to taste with agave ( also available at adamshiddentreasures.com) and enjoy; the chlorella will bind toxins to it and take it into the colon to be gotten rid of through the enema. Then prepare your organic lightly roasted coffee: fill a sauce pan with water let the water come to a boil then turn and remove from the hot element. Place 1 tbsp - 1 cup of coffee into the water depending on the strength you want. let stand for about 10 minutes. Strain off one cup of coffee and then add 3 cups of distilled water to it. Pour into your enema bag, make sure the coffee is warm not hot before you pour it in the enema bag. when you release the flow be sure to put it on the lowest setting so as to not trigger the peristaltic action in the sigmoid and rectum. Try to take in the 2 quart bag and hold for at least 13 minutes before you let your bowel empty. If there is any cramping or pain stop the flow and breathe deeply until it subsides then begin the flow again slowly until you have taken in st 1-2 quarts. If you are unable to take in 1-2 quarts just take in how much you can and then sit on the toilet and let your bowel empty. After finishing the coffee enema you should do a third enema a therapeutic enema to replace the good bacteria and soothe the colon. You will need 1 cup Olive oil,1 cup Aloe Vera gel,1-3 drops Peppermint essential oil and 1 tsp. of a vegan Probiotic. Mix well then place in the enema bag. It is best to make this mixture before doing your enema so that it can be room temperature when you are ready to use it. Once you have taken in the therapeutic enema hold it for as long as you can if you can hold it until the next day or until your next bowel movement that is very good; if you hold it for a little while like 10-15 minutes that is very good too. Be sure to clean your enema bag so it can stay sterile for the next use.

After wards be sure to drink 8 ounces of fresh vegetable juice of your choice a good selection would be 3 carrots,either 3 leaves of kale, handful of spinach or 3 leaves of turnip greens.

Once you have done this series of cleansing you will feel energized and light. When your body needs another cleanse you will notice the change in your health; fatigue, low energy, muddled thoughts, backaches, headaches just to name a few. Do the cleanse when you feel like this and it will help relieve these symptoms of toxic build up. But a coffee enema can be done as often as every week or everyday just as long as you do a therapeutic enema and always drink a glass of vegetable juice after wards. It is also easy to get a superior attitude because raw vegetarian living is clearly a superior way to live from a health perspective and because so often our reasons for becoming a raw vegetarian is grounded in moral, ethical or religious values. And this is all well and good as long as you are functioning within the raw vegetarian community exclusively.

But what if your sweetheart is a meat eater? If the one you are dating, engaged to or even married to is not a raw vegetarian, that can lead to some pretty delicate moments. The last thing the raw vegetarian movement is about is hostility. So we have to have some guidelines on how to live in peace and harmony if your romantic partner has not joined you in your the raw vegetarian lifestyle.

Of course, one resolution is for your sweetheart to become a raw vegetarian with you. You could go with the argument of, "well if you loved me you would give up meat." But forcing someone to join the raw vegetarian community out of guilt is a terrible reason to make that change of life. Your sweetheart will just resent giving up a food he or she loves and will probably cheat and eat meat when not around you. That kind of tension, resentment and deception is no grounds for a long term love affair.

A better way is to come to terms with your differences, find ways to live with them and then see if down the road, your sweetheart might convert of his own free will. The first step, as is true of any conflict in an intimate relationship, is to talk about your differences openly. Sit down and talk about where each of you is on this issue. Agree to disagree. But also agree to find compromises and not to hold the other in contempt or to mock the other for the life choices he or she has made. By reaching a loving agreement, each of you can allow the other to be who he or she is and the romance can continue as the dietary dispute is resolved peacefully.

Together you can look for restaurants that offer both raw vegetarian dishes and meat dishes so each of you can get what you want. Now you don’t have to go to a restaurant that shouts in its advertising "We Serve Raw Vegetarians!" All a good restaurant needs is a few good menu entries that are raw foods and you can find what you want while your sweetheart enjoys a meat dish. Most good restaurants offer a tempting raw foods salad offering that you can customize so any meat, bacon bits, boiled eggs or even cheese are left out. By working together to build a good list of restaurants both of you can enjoy, you have a compromise for date nights that will last a long time.

Finding ways for both of you to enjoy your diet of choice is a good long term step. But your loved one may have a misconception that raw vegetarian food can't taste good. So make a deal that he or she might try it one night. Then you can put your best foot forward by preparing a sumptuous raw foods vegetarian meal that nobody can resist. But be aware that if you do try to make such a deal, you might have to agree to let your sweetheart try to convert you back to the meat eating world with a sumptuous home made meat based meal. If that is not ok with you, don’t make the deal.

Above all, don’t mock or look upon your sweetheart's choice of diet with distain or disgust. Don’t make the "eww" face each time your date has a hamburger or a hot dog. Come to the point that you can live with meat eaters and not feel repulsed when others eat the foods you don’t approve of. After all, you would not your date to make the "eww" face when you had a tofu burger or a big plate of raw foods vegetables instead of meat. So treat each other with respect and love. Over time that approach will result in the best long term love affair and maybe even see you come to a time when he or she sees the light and joins you in the joys of raw foods vegetarianism.

Raw foods diet and exercise to combat childhood obesity...

The announcements from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), are not positive when it comes to childhood obesity. Childhood obesity has steadily increased as an impossible hurdle for our youth and forecasted to continue it's crippling march into the next generation.

Even with federal, state and local programs in place, childhood obesity seems to be too much to handle...wonder what a child on a raw foods diet would say about childhood obesity?

There needs to be changes made from the neighborhood to the White House, raw foods, exercise and family support would get the ball rolling...
Most experts agree that it takes a minimum of three blog postings per week to be an effective blog writer. Posting at least three articles per week shows that you are a serious professional with expert knowledge in your field that you are willing to share on a regular basis.

Does that mean you can never take a week off (or longer) for vacation again? If you use Blogomator, you can have the best of both worlds – keep your free time plus maintain frequent postings.

There are a couple of ways to use Blogomator to your advantage.

First, you can upload your blog articles before your vacation ever starts. The program allows you to upload articles and schedule exactly when you would like to post them on your WordPress blog.

You could schedule blogs for an entire year or more and your readers would never know you were enjoying time with your family on a cruise!

The other way to fully utilize the Blogomator system is to blog while you are on vacation. You will not need to drag along your laptop or any special equipment!

Because there are no files to download when you use Blogomator, all you need is a computer and an Internet connection. So, whether you are vacationing on a beach along the United States coast or seeing all the sites in Paris, you can write your blog from any computer with an Internet connection.

Jaunt into an Internet café and tell your readers about your vacation as it is happening. Your readers will be impressed to know that even on vacation, you make time to stay in contact with them through your blog site.

Blogomator is very unique in that it requires no special files downloaded onto your own computer. That feature makes blogging truly portable for you! Entering a new blog entry is as easy as logging onto www.Blogomator.com and uploading the file.

You can even choose when you want the file to post. Post blogs on your vacation immediately or set them to post at another time. With Blogomator, you will never need to download updates or install plug ins. You will not even have to do any formatting of your article. It is as simple as writing your thoughts and clicking a button. Blogomator does all the rest for you!

If you happen to write more than one blog, that is not a problem. Blogomator allows you to post articles to one or one hundred blogs. And, with each, you control when your articles are posted!

Another added advantage to the Blogomator program is that if you use the services of a ghost writer, the writer may post your articles on your behalf. That will set you free to concentrate on other aspects of developing your business!

There is no need to look at blogging as a chore any more! Blogomator’s easy to use, common sense approach to posting delivers what every blogger wants: a way to make frequent posts without spending hours each week just to maintain a blog! After all, in most cases, a blog is one aspect of public relations for your business. You will be less likely to maintain an effective blog if it takes up too much of your valuable time!

Blogomator not only increases your writing efficiency by making blog posting easier, the fact that no special files or downloads are required makes the program truly carefree. To take advantage of all that Blogomator has to offer, sign up for the program today at www.Blogomator.com.

Fitness and Your Health

Fitness and your health
Why should I start exercising now?

The answer is simple - Physical activity is an important part of good health and can enhance the quality of your life.

Regular exercise can:
* Reduce your risk of heart disease
* Help control your weight
* Increase your muscle strength
*Release everyday stress
* Help delay or prevent chronic illnesses
* Gradually increase your activity level over time and you will see the benefits of your effort.
A good exercise regimen includes : Cardio- Our bodies were made to move around all day long; as children we did not experience any of the tensions and fatigues we feel now that is because as children we were always moving. As adults we do the direct opposite we are either sitting or standing for long periods of time, our muscles tense and become sluggish and tight. After a cardio workout we feel the direct opposite. we feel energized, flexible,blood is pumping through out our body giving it the energy it needs to feel good by supplying oxygen to our cells etc. You feel completely ready to take on anything in your world just raring to go. The benefits of cardio are:
    * Weight loss
    * Stronger heart and lungs
    * Increased bone density
    * Reduced stress
    * Reduced risk of heart disease and some types of cancer
    * Temporary relief from depression and anxiety
    * More confidence about how you feel and how you look
    * Restful and Rejuvenating sleep
    * Boosted energy
    * Showing a pattern of good habits for your kids to stay active as they get older
Even though weight loss is the primary goal of cardio exercise at times it is usually not a motivator for us to get up and get moving because weight loss is often a slow gradual process and a physical result; we are more inspired by what we feel rather than what we see. The rest of the benefits listed above are feelings so we need to refocus our ideas and purpose of exercising. our follow up article will touch more on this topic.
Yoga- Is beneficial to the mind, body and soul. The meditative mantras is calming, supportive and cleansing to the mind and soul while the stretches help the body by increasing flexibility and lubricating the joints, ligaments and tendons. The strenuous and non-strenuous Yoga stretches act in an interrelated manner upon the different parts of the body. when done together they work harmoniously to increase flexibility relatively easy.
Stretch- Joint flexibility is the goal of stretching being able to take a muscle through its full range of motion is helpful to our freedom of movement and the relaxation of tight muscles soothes and balances the body making you feel good thus releasing stress in the body.

A schedule that I have found to be very beneficial is: Cardio three times a week, yoga three times a week, and a full one hour stretch one day of the week. However it is always best to stretch before and after any exercises this is generally called the warm up and cool down session of your workout. by Chelyah...
If that's true, then the food of the heavens is definitely missing from a joyful raw foods diet.

Depending on the raw vegan diet enthusiast, fruit may compromise a larger part of the raw foods shopping list; for others it would be the reverse...more veggies and less fruit. The best remedy I'm told is based on taste or constitution...if your body likes it, that's the ticket. Knowledge is the best key for developing a living foods diet and I will be recommending some that I have personally read and others recommended by those who have seen the benefits of a raw vegan diet.

Starting with this one:

How To Do The Raw Food Diet with Joy

"Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are."

Brillat-Savarin

Sproutarians...lettuce eat raw

Vegetarianism and raw food enthusiasts fall into many different groups with different theories of what kind of natural foods are best. Most vegetarians eat fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains. Vegans eat no animal by-products at all, including dairy or eggs. Fruitarians eat primarily fruits. And some raw foods enthusiasts eat only sprouts.

Sprouts are very nutritious living foods because they contain all the elements a plant needs for life and growth, a central focus of some raw vegan diets. The endosperm of the seed is the storehouse of carbohydrates, protein and oil. When the seed germinates, these become predigested amino acids and natural sugars upon which the plant embryo feeds to grow. This life force we eat is filled with energy which is capable of generating cells of the body and supplying us with new vigor and life. For this reason living foods like sprouts can retard the ageing process.
Sprouts contain goodly amounts of male and female hormones, as well, in their most easily assimilated form. Research shows that raw foods like sprouts are among the highest in vitamins. They are not only a low cost living food but are also tasty and easy to grow. Children and the elderly can make sprouting raw foods a profitable hobby. All of us can profit from the added boost to our health that they provide to any raw vegan diet.
Almost any seed, grain or legume can be sprouted for a raw vegan diet, though some are tastier than others. Some may try mung beans, alfalfa, wheat, peas, fenugreek, chickpeas, radish, fennel, celery seed, etc. These are most readily found in natural food stores. Remember to soak small seeds only for 4 hours and beans for 15 hours. You also can mix these seeds, making them into a living foods vegetable melody. Get a 2 liter wide-mouth jar and a piece of cheesecloth or old nylon stocking to fasten as a cover with a rubber band. Put seed into the jar as follows:
2 Tsps alfalfa, 2 Tsps radish or fenugreek, 1/4 cup lentils, 1/2 cup mung beans. Soak these seeds for 15 hours and drain the water. Afterwards rinse and drain well twice daily for about 3-5 days. If you wish to make larger amounts of sprouts, so you may share with others, place 2 cups of mixed seed into a large porcelain pot, in the bottom of which holes have been drilled for easy rinsing. Simply place underneath the faucet and rinse morning and evening with warm water. Cover with a plate. The seeds grow beautifully and abundantly in a few days and there we have a main staple for a living foods raw vegan diet.
Lettuce eat raw....veg-e-tales from the bright side.

One farmer says to me, "You cannot live on vegetable food solely, for it furnishes nothing to make the bones with;" and so he religiously devotes a part of his day to supplying himself with the raw material of bones; walking all the while he talks behind his oxen, which, with vegetable-made bones, jerk him and his lumbering plow along in spite of every obstacle. ~Henry David Thoreau

So a raw vegan diet is not nourishing enough for humans, only animals can benefit from a raw diet? You mean to say that a varied diet of raw vegetables versus say what a cow eats everyday - grass cannot produce a healthy outcome?

A closer look seems to prove the contrary. Cows and other animals that are on the raw diet that nature intended, no meat at all have actually outnumbered carnivores of every kind for thousands of years...

With the new year right around the corner why not see if the diet that has made 300 pound cows is of any serious real benefit...prove the naysayers wrong. A close friend asked that one day, do you see what you are eating? Is it live, full of energy and nutrients?

Never came up with an honest answer to that question. How about you, what would your answer be?

Raw vegetarian recipies have guided thousands to be able to answer yes! Eating dead foods actually drains energy, cutting your lifetime and enjoyment of a healthy lifestyle.
Among the amazing benefits of a raw vegan diet is you are actually eating raw living foods...food that gives life, not taking away your energy just through the process of digestion.
Cooking food tends to rob the food of it's natural nutrients, and makes it more of a task to digest what has been prepared - raw foods aids digestion with the natural nutrients still available to nourish the body and the mind.
A raw vegan diet does benefit both mind and body, can your current diet continuously revive, replenish and support the daily challenges placed before each of us?

A raw vegetarian food diet influences your health and well-being throughout your journey. Balanced with meditating and other options for your mental health provides a promising future for anyone who commits to changing for the better.

Most raw vegan recipes are simplicity in preparation and most definitely the other side of the grass is greener when it comes to cleanup. That is usually the greatest challenge whenever eating is concerned, although very few people will admit it when it comes to considering a diet - how long will it take me to do the dishes?
