83 MPH, A.K.A. 83 Miles Per Hour, formed in the month of January, 2011, is a Chennai based Indian rock band. The band is inspired by legendary artists such as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Muse and Grits. Lately the band has been participating in rock contest and doing shows in the city. Their first performance was at the Ethiraj Rock Contest where they won the Best Vocalist Award. All the band members are from different genres; classic rock, progressive rock, punk rock, metal and hip-hop.

Advaita is an 8 piece fusion band featuring great musicianship and a fantastic live presence. They have a growing reputation based on recent performances at festivals such as Delhi's East Wind Festival.

"Advaita is an eclectic music group from New Delhi India. We borrow our name from an ancient Indian philosophy, which translates to mean Non-Duality. Since the group was formed, in 2004, Advaita has steadily grown to become one of the most respected acts on the Indian music scene. Our sound is a mélange of the styles, moods and textures we have taken in from different cultures and different music systems of the world."

1833AD- BLACK METAL MAGIC NEW DELHI

1833 AD have been the pioneers of Black Metal music in India since the last 5 years. Since 2006, the bands popularity amongst Indian metal fans has increased manifold and 1833 AD have been performing consistently in the Indian metal scene and have gained immense popularity amongst Indian metal fans.

1833 AD’s popularity is not only limited to Indian metal fans but have also received rave reviews from Black Metal journalists/critics from Norway. The greatest accomplishments for 1833 AD were when well-known Black Metal artist Nocturno Culto (guitarist/vocalist of Darkthrone) and George Kolias (drummer for Nile) showered their praise on 1833 AD.

In 2010 they concluded their headlining “End of Time” tour spanning 5 cities all across India (Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, New Delhi and Mumbai). During the tour 1833 AD headlined at the Black Metal Kreig in Mumbai which also featured the Black Metal band Dhishti from Sri Lanka. Following the tour, 1833 AD were invited to headline at Black Mass Festival in Colombo, Sri Lanka in July 2011. The band also played with United Kingdom based Cyanide Serenity in two cities during their India tour.

Other notable performances include RSJs The Pit (2008), RSJ
Live Nites (2008), Rocktober Fest(2008), Pubrockfest (2008,2009,2010) and Resurrection – The Extreme Metal Festival (2010).

1833 AD recently finished recording their soon to be released debut album titled “My Dark Symphony”.

Superfuzz, the band from New Delhi called themselves 'The Superfuzz Bigmuff' when they first started out. After winning competition after competition.... acing every gig after gig... they finally got to the Campus Rock Idols in 2005... and wht d'ya think.... they aced it too.

After Rock Idols, they truncated their name to 'The Superfuzz' ... probably for simplicity reasons.

Few days back i saw dem at turqoise cottage performing live. they r really fucking performers.

i loved the gig.They are really cool but with fire on stage. just check out some of der songs u might lyk.

five8 - delhi university band

Five8 was created in the summer of 2005 in New Delhi. Beginning as a college band at Delhi University, Five8 performed extensively within the Indian college circuit, playing many college shows and competitions. With this impetus, the current line up decided to take the band forward professionally in 2008, consciously writing and performing their own music, with influences ranging from glam rock to soul, progressive music to pop.

Five8’s work resonates through a constantly evolving city life, running parallel and colliding with concrete construction, scorching temperatures, traffic jams, insatiable appetites, and just some plain wishful thinking.

Five8’s music tells their story from within, and by stepping outside of the emerging Indian independent music milieu, using this apparent challenge to create Five8’s unique sound. The band releases it's first self-titled EP July 2010 featuring six original tracks, original band artwork and a range of merchandise. In the future, the band hopes to continue writing and performing, and to allow their music to lead them further. As a part of the dynamic ‘Indian Indie’, Five8 believes that this is the time in India to let your music speak. “Life gives you one shot, there are no retakes” (Believe, Five8, 2009).

The Who. Designed by Brian Pike, 1964

This logo was originally designed by Brian Pike for the promotion of the band’s debut at London’s the Marquee Club on the 24th, November, 1964. The show was publicized by the new band’s manager Lambert & Stamp, who made these special black and white posters and concession cards get printed under the tagline of "Maximum R&B". This poster has remained as one of the most classic images in the history of rock music. Curiously, this logo was never used on any of the band’s albums but has remained their most famous identity.

The Rolling Stones. Designed by John Pasche,1971

This logo was originally designed for The Rolling Stones own record label identity in 1971 and was first reproduced on the inner sleeve of the "Sticky Fingers" album. The original cover art was made by Andy Warhol, which caused the wrong impression that he also designed the logo. This logo remained as the main identity of the band throughout the years, even when it was not reproduced on album covers very often.

Goddess Kali,19th century

John Pasche was a 25 year old student at Londonâ€™s Royal College of Art when he asked by the Stonesâ€™ management to design a poster for the bandâ€™s European tour. Apparently, Mick Jagger turned up at John Pasche‘s final degree show where the poster was on display. Soon after, Mick Jagger asked him to design a logo for The Rolling Stones record label and showed him an image of the Hindu Goddess Kali, which was his starting point. The work was done in about two weeks and he was just paid Â£50 for the task. Two years later, he was paid another Â£200 as a recognition from the band to its success. The copyright of the logo was lately bought by the band, but Pasche still owned the original artwork, which is currently on sale for Â£300,000 at the artist’s web site.
