Thigh High Experiment.

I've been looking for plus-size thigh highs for AGES. So, after much frustration I made my own- I simply cut (at the crotch) a pair of cable-knit leggings and then used the bottoms and stitched them at the thighs and voila! Thigh Highs :)
PS.I was wearing shorts.

It's winter time. I want to be cozy. And for some reason, winter clothes made for men are far more comfy than winter clothes made for women. Like, why is flannel not a typical fabric for women's wear? FLANNEL IS THE BEST THING EVER.

After almost a month of having no life- no friends, no shopping, no restaurants, no nothing!- I finally had a day off to hang with Sarah and it was much needed. It was really great to have an entire day to not think about anything but what store to hit up next and what to eat off a menu. Either way, we were walking around all day so I needed to make sure I dressed comfortably- which I totally did! This knit dress from New Look was super comfy and warm, the perfect addition to my fall wardrobe. (:

It's become a tradition now for me and my a pair of my closest friends to attent an annual Autumn fair in our area. Literally, we attend the fair to eat. Why is it that carnival food is the most vile yet best tasting thing on the planet? This I will never understand.
Anyways, I definitely was not ultra fancy for the occassion. After all, I have managed over the years to tread on cow poop, drop mustard all over myself and spill apple cider all over my legs. Yeah, don't ask.

My passion for animal prints for fall has become an unhealthy obsession. Any printed item of clothing I see automatically becomes a coveted item- this is a problem people! Anyways, enough of the dramatics- fall is in full swing- and this means that this cheetah print sweater top that I picked up from Forever 21 was the perfect compromise between style and warmth- and I literally wear it at least once a week.

In other news, my long-time online store favourite New Look has failed me. I ordered a shipment about a month ago and it hasn't reached me- which is fine, I understand things go wrong, and I simply contacted them asking them to resolve the issue. BUT GUESS WHAT. I've emailed them three times, over a span of two weeks and they STILL haven't gotten back to me. This breaks my heart you guys. I've been ordering from them religiously, and they've always had amazing service and now its like...I don't know what to think anymore! Le sigh, first world problems.

SO, basically since the start of this school year a mere 3 weeks ago I have had no life, what so ever. Between school and copious amounts of time at work I've literally only had time to eat, and occasionally sleep. Sarah, whom I HOPE you all know from her blog at Garters and Stockings has been patiently waiting for a time where we could actually hang out. LUCKILY her patience paid off and I spent a much needed day off from the madness of my life to kick back an relax. And ofcourse- take some pictures :)

So. I went to H&M a few days back and saw this trapeze sweater in an awesome colour. I basically tried on all the sizes and found they were too big- until I got to a small. I lol'd. I think this is the only and last time I'll ever own a size small garment. Either way, I'm so glad fall is here and the weather is warming up! Nothing makes me happier than the end of summer :)

Style to Surpise- A Penningtons Event

I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in FOREVER! But alas, I have returned. With school starting up soon and me working crazy hours at my jobs, I barely had the time to look at myself in the mirror let alone put together post-worthy outfits. But enough of my complaining, on with the post!
I was fortunate enough to be invited to the launch party of Penningtons fall clothing line. Now, my thoughts on the event are...somewhat mixed...but I rather avoid turning into a total negative nancy. I could see that the store had made an effort to make their clothes more "youthful"- but at the same time I do feel there is a lot of progress to be made. Lets just sum it up by saying- I appreciate their efforts, but perhaps they should actually make attempts to engage in an active discussion with a younger demographic? Yes, we'll leave it at that. On the positive side- I was able to reconnect with old blogger friends, and meet a bunch of new ones, which was wonderful! As a blogger you often feel isolated, and in your own little bubble, so events like these where you can meet other bloggers make the entire blogging experience worthwhile. So on with the photos!

I took my visiting cousin around downtown Toronto, and one of my favourite places is St.Michael's Church. The Gothic architecture and "pristine-ness" serves as a stark contrast with the grungy and downtrodden nature of its surrounding downtown environment. Regardless, we figured it was an ideal and quiet spot to take a few outfit photos :)

My cousin is currently visiting from Indiana and to be honest I have no idea what to do with her! A Work Affair.

Since moving to my new house I've had little to no social life. Not to mention my lack of internet, which means that I've have little to no connection with "e-civilization" as well. These amongst other factors combined have made it so that I'm literally roaming around a disheveled bum 85% of the time, unpacking boxes and assembling furniture. The only time I've really made an effort to dress up, is for work- thus, a work affair.
Dress code at my work is pretty much business casual, and I have to wear black and/or white. Its honestly frustrating always trying to assemble outfits that go around this bland, dichotomous colour scheme, but I try my best :]

Most people have "go-to" outfits- y'know, outfits you where when it feels like an evil gnome has been stealing all your clothes and you literally cannot decide what ensemble to put together.

The Pleats Bandwagon.

You guys have no idea how long I have coveted pleats for. I have literally searched every store (online and off) for the "perfect pleated skirt". It was mildly irritating that I couldn't find anything, mostly because pleats are so popular this season. Just when I was about to lose hope, Forever 21 Plus came to the rescue- as soon as I saw it on their website I ordered it pronto. Unfortunately the skirt is slightly too big around the waist, so it looks super awkward when trying to tuck things in, but I think I've managed to work around the sizing issue nonetheless.
My friend and I went out for a nice walk around our less than exciting suburb, and here are the results :)

Today is Canada Day and I'm really not in the mood to celebrate. Maybe later on tonight, I will. My friends, however, are a different story and they insisted on my participating in "fun activities". So I suppose that's what I'll be doing for the rest of the day today. "Fun Activities". I wore this outfit, hoping to spark some joy in my otherwise unenthusiastic mood.
I thrifted this shirt quite a while back but the fit is so awkward I never exactly know how to wear it closed, but unbuttoned it seems to work semi-well. What do you guys think?

See, the weather where I live isn't so bad. I realize that Toronto doesn't get THAT HOT, but what it does get is SUPER HUMID. It's been raining for the past three days, and when I checked the weather they said it would be around 18C (64F) so I put on a cardigan due to the semi-cold temperature. Little did I know the humid-ex made it feel more like 28C (82F)! I died.
I wasn't able to stay outside and take photos for very long, the rain started up and I was forced to run back indoors. Hopefully the rainy (and stupid humidity that accompanies it) will stop soon.

I went to the museum with my friends, and if you guys follow my tumblr you know that it's one of my favourite past-times in the entire universe. Before we hit up the museum we had a picnic- how ADORABLE is that? I totally felt like we were in a cheesy chickflick, it was pretty amazing.
