3 Methods of Network Marketing Recruiting

Are you running out of ideas on finding new ways to increase your network marketing recruiting? This quick post will help you boost your sponsoring, increase your commissions and elevate your results in your MLM.

1. Network Marketing Recruiting Using Offline Attraction Marketing

About a year ago I had a private mastermind retreat that a small group of entrepreneur paid $9,000 per person to attend. Offline attraction marketing is a very powerful way to attract more people to you, in a very targeted way, that then turns into a powerful way to boost your network marketing recruiting. IF you wanted to attract, say, realtors, all you would do is run offline (you can also do this online) events or webinars that are aimed at solving the problems of your target audience. 2. Network Marketing Recruiting Through Facebook

OK, so you are thinking, “Ray, this isn’t a new method to boost my network marketing recruiting!” bear with me here, it is certainly NOT a new method but SOOO many people do it the wrong way, it STILL needs to be taught. Here is a quick list of the things to do in your network marketing recruiting on Facebook:

1. Never send unsolicited links (learn to get them to ask you for it)
2. Focus on turning your cold market into your warm market by listening to them and building a genuine relationship.
3. Don’t just target a company and try to recruit out of it. It can ruin your reputation and it’s not professional.

3. How to Use Email to Boost Your Recruiting

Most people have NO clue how to communicate via email to their prospects to actually get them interested in your home business opportunity. In fact, most network marketers do everything to turn OFF their prospects by the email messages they send. Most marketers come off as desperate and create resistance and doubt in the minds of their prospects.

You can recruit using email but there are certain rules you must adhere to. Here are a few:

1. Focus on the prospect, not you or even what excites you.
2. Like on Facebook, look to generate interest BEFORE you blast your link.
3. Know how to get people to check out your opportunity, even if they are already in one AND without turning them off.

Notes and Clips from the Marketing Mastermind Event

The Cake

This past weekend I hosted an awesome Network Marketing Mastermind and wanted to share with you all my notes and some fun video clips. If you were able to attend, be sure to leave your comments at the bottom on the #1 thing you learned.

Some Notes From the Marketing Mastermind

We started out on Saturday with Michelle Pescosolido, known as the Facebook Advertising Queen. What was amazing (and I had never seen anyone actually do this before) is she opened up her actual ads and showed the crowd EXACTLY what she was doing to get up to 39% click through rates for less than $1! She even showed step by step, how to create a Facebook ads campaign from scratch. Probably the coolest thing she shares was how to segment your ads so they only targeted a maximum of 2,000 people so that you could be more custom in your message.

Saturday afternoon we brought up the heavy hitter, Daegan Smith. Daegan is the king of traffic and has a powerful training for affiliates that he dove into at the Marketing Mastermind. The thing that drew a gasp from the crowd was Daegan logging into his infusionsoft back office and showing the payments he received from the month before…over $267,000! Holy moley right! Then, Daegan broke it down EXACTLY how he has positioned himself, how you can get traffic easily and even shared with the crowd how to build your list when you are a brand new marketer. After day 1, almost every person in the room felt they got thousands, and thousands of dollars worth of training already, it was amazing!

Marketing Mastermind VIP Party!

Saturday night was the VIP party at my house and it was a blast! I had my good friend Terry Petrovick share his story on how he has not only made millions in the network marketing industry but more importantly how he has helped OTHERS make millions in this industry. There was some great networking and I even busted out the custom cake I had made (it was red velvet and DELICIOUS!). We rocked it out most of the night and had a blast with all the speakers and VIP attendees.

Sunday Morning at the Mastermind

Sunday morning we had my good friend Roxanna Hannah from My Lead System pro get up and get us all motivated and fired up. She is awesome (check out the pic of us cutting the cake, lol).

After Roxanna got us fired up and understanding that our best investment is in ourselves, we brought up legendary Rhino Jerry Clark. Jerry, in case you didn’t know, is awesome and taught us how to monetize value and information in only the style that Jerry can. I loved when he talked about how to get ten times the value out of any education you ever purchase, I know a lot of people were really excited after his talk.

I went on after Jerry and talked about value and how to dominate any business industry. I put some of my talks (and a little from the other speakers) in the below video that I think you will enjoy. Create Products or
Build Your MLM Business Opportunity?

With the Internet age it is real popular nowadays to create your own MLM products around training or coaching but is this the right move or should you focus more on your MLM business opportunity? This is a tough question and we will tackle it in this blog post.

Products or Your MLM Business Opportunity?

In the last year or so I have created a lot of different training products and I think a lot of people wonder which is my main focus, am I more focused on my MLM business opportunity or creating products?

My focus is and always will be building my residual income and I believe network marketing is the lowest risk and lowest overhead way to do this. However, from learning from the greats like Orrin Woodward, Randy Gage, Eric Worre, Big Al Schrieter, Dani Johnson and many, many others, it is cool IF you have an abundance mindset and AFTER you build a network marketing business legitimately to share some of your knowledge with the industry and be able to give back AND make a profit doing so. Here is what I have noticed of lately though is a LOT of people creating training products as a means to make a living BEFORE they have built a successful MLM business opportunity (or have no intention of doing so) and I think that approach is too “job-like” and may not be the best use of someone’s initial time.

But won’t people in a different MLM business opportunity use your training to build something else?

This is a question from someone who only believes there is only so much to go around. I believe, like many of the trainers I mentioned before, that we live in an abundant world where ALL of us (without hurting each other) can make millions and impact millions in this industry. IF you have value that you have learned overtime that people WANT, help the industry out and get it out there BUT I would never want to rely solely on a training/product business as that seems like too much work to me lol. Fun for the time being, but give me that fat residual income check ANYDAY!

Some Gotchas To Know About IF you create generic training

IF you decide to follow my suggestion on building a successful MLM business opportunity BEFORE you create products (it is what I did) then there are some things you want to be aware of:

1. You will have team members that misunderstand your intentions. They may even complain about you to corporate. They don’t see that the more value you put out there the better exposure the company and opportunity get and the more people you will attract into your business and just see you as a distracting force.

Remedy for this is to not let this bring you down, it WILL happen, you stay the course and you will outlast this concern. MLM trainers have been doing this since the early years of network marketing and there are many successful teams that were built by generic trainers. IF you are addicted to the idea of no one ever talking behind your back or you want everyone to approve 100% of what you do, it ain’t gonna happen IF you create another income stream through MLM products.

2. You will want to stick with one company. To create products and also jump around may be just too much and could very well damage your reputation.

3. Creating products and coaching people outside your company is sorta like a job. NOT the way I want to rely on the majority of my income but fun to do and VERY educational for all parties. My main income (by far) is still my MLM business opportunity and to continue to grow that IS the way to go in my opinion and my suggestion for you!

3 Facebook Recruiting Mistakes
That Make You Look Dumb

Some of you might agree with me that the way people are attempting Facebook recruiting is getting a little out of hand. People are missing some core steps when attempting to recruit on Facebook and this post aims to help us all have a better time on Facebook.

Should You Even Bother With Facebook Recruiting?

Of course you should, it’s a goldmine. Anywhere there are ridiculous numbers of people hanging out for ridiculous amounts of time, that is fertile prospecting ground but before you dive into the masses and start beating people over the head with your network marketing business opportunity…there are some rules you should follow and some mistakes to avoid.

1. Attempting Facebook Recruiting With a Poor Profile is Dumb

The other day someone sent me a standard message pitching me on how awesome their comp plan was. Just for kicks I took a look at their profile and every other status update had a curse word and one of them was apparently directed at their ex-boyfriend (it was pretty raw). IF you are going to attempt to recruit someone into a business, you might consider at least pretending to be professional on your Facebook profile.

2. Facebook Recruiting via Spamming Always Works, Right?!?

The only thing worse than no results is negative results. If you want to turn off your friends, have them de-friend you and talk behind your back, then just place them all in a massive Facebook message pitching them your business. The terrible thing about this is when people reply to complain (and they will), everyone sees their responses and it confirms what everyone was already thinking and they join in the fray until your Facebook cred is battered, bloodied and bruised. NEVER send mass messages when you are attempting Facebook recruiting, it will never work.

 3. The Facebook Recruiting Drive By

This is the worst. Someone on Facebook takes a blatant sales message and just sends you a private message with their link to their MLM opportunity. Here are some examples:

“Hey Ray, I see you are into Network Marketing, me too! Listen, I thought of you when I found this amazing opportunity and I think with your connections you could REALLY do amazing with it!!

Good connecting with you and look forward to hearing back from you! – Lynda Newbie”

OK, so why is that so bad? First, it is disingenuous. We never actually “connected”, she just did a drive by on me and her poorly thought out message was meant to get me excited, which, it doesn’t as it looks more desperate than professional.

This is a major rule when it comes to Facebook recruiting…NEVER send an “unsolicited link” to anyone. Let me help you understand why…

Social Media is Like a House Party

How would you react if you were hanging with some friends at a house party and a guy charged through the group throwing his business card at everyone? It’s just a numbers game right? WRONG. Not in social media and not at a house party. To get better at Facebook recruiting, connect by asking questions, and then when the timing is right, talk to them about your opportunity. The good news is so many are doing Facebook recruiting totally wrong, YOU stand out when you do it right. The best Facebook recruiting training I have personally ever seen is actually…my wifes! This quick blog post is focused around tips to teach you how to make more money from home. Some are mind hacks, others are tactical in nature. Apply these tips and you WILL start making more money over time in your home based business.

How to Make More Money From Home Using MiNd HaCkz

This might be the biggest thing you can do is create games in your mind to start attracting and honing your reticular activator on making money.

1. Create an act to celebrate any and all commissions. It could be a fist pump, a boo-yaa, or perhaps ringing a bell of some sort. Whether it is 50 cents or $5,000, start PHYSICALLY celebrating ANY win you have.

2. If you really wanna know how to make more money from home, you have to create more gratitude in your life. ANYONE that gives you value, advice or coaching should receive at LEAST your silent gratitude but better yet to voice it in some form of communication. I see people that have ALL types of people around them helping them but they never stop to see how good they have it so that help diminishes or never gets realized.

3. Focus on what you want. Every morning when you get up, imagine EXACTLY what you want to make in commissions that day and smile. Send heart energy out to the world on how grateful you are to be placed in such an amazing place and time. Each night, before you go to sleep, focus in your mind or better yet, write down all the things you want in your vision book (this post might help – how to use vision books)

How to Make More Money From Home – Tactical Tips

1. Easy step how to make more money from home is to keep more. If you haven’t already, make sure you watch this webinar with tax expert Sandy Botkin.

2. In  your efforts to make more money and learn online marketing, make sure you are actively pursuing sales (not just in a passive manner). So many people make this mistake and don’t aggressively go after sales and just hope for leads and traffic. This webinar is one of my favorites to get better on the phone.

3. Learn how to get more traffic. Study people that have the type of results you want. This blog you are reading gets well over a million hits per month with 30,000-40,000 unique visitors per month. Lately I have been studying a lot of Russell Brunsons stuff on traffic and it has helped tremendously.

How to Make More Money From Home When Life Sucks

Hey, I was there. When I started down this journey to learn how to make money from home I was in personal foreclosure, had very little in the bank and was pretty darn depressed about life. What helped me was ANYTIME my mind would “go there”, I would dive back into activity. IF you are in a tough spot financially, it is SOOO important for YOU to push yourself hard to get things done, then, IF you push hard, you will start to get results and IF you start to get results you will start feeling better and it will become easier. Most people don’t push hard enough during the stage called “suckville”. I can tell you it isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.

5 Things Your Upline Won’t Tell You
About Your MLM Business

There are a few things I have learned since failing in 11 different MLM Business opportunities to becoming the number one income earner in mine that I wish I would have known earlier. Today I share 5 of those little known facts that most uplines won’t tell you, mainly because they don’t know.

When Building a Network Marketing MLM Business…

There are only a few things that people need to be skilled at to successfully build an MLM business but unfortunately they don’t get trained in these areas unless someone tells them to.

5 Big Tips for Your MLM Business

1. Focus on sales. One of the most influential books I have ever read is “Ready, Fire, Aim” my Michael Masterson where he describes the 4 stages of any business. IF you are below $1 million in commissions, you need to focus on sales, not picking the right customer management software or designing your impressive logo but getting sales in the door. One way to help this is to have a solid daily routine (you can download mine by entering your information on the upper right hand side of this website)

2. Invest in your people and sales skills. The most important skill you can have when your MLM business is under $1 million in profits a year is the ability to sponsor people. To me the biggest hindrance is not understanding that people don’t actually want an MLM business, they want their problems solved. I had a discussion with one of my MLSP teammates this morning and he had this aha moment this morning, let me share what I mean:

People don’t want a drill, they want a hole.

People don’t want a lawnmower, they want nice grass.

People don’t want ibuprofen, they want the pain to be gone.

People don’t want an MLM business, they want time and financial freedom.

Because so few people invest in their sales abilities they struggle to grasp the concept of being a problem solver versus being a sales person. My latest webinar called recruiting mastery helps people understand how to “salt their prospects food” as well as WHY prospects didn’t do what they said they would do.

3. Get around the people that have the lifestyle you want, and DON’T listen to the opinions of those that don’t. Your brother-in-law thinks you are in a pyramid scheme but his lifestyle sucks? Don’t listen to him. Your upline that makes a ton of money, travels all the time and has the lifestyle you want suggest something? Listen.

4. Don’t spend forever on it but make yourself a business. Don’t go all analytical on me but IF you are in an MLM business opportunity, create a vacuum that has you on your way to making the big money. I have also heard that companies are less likely to get audited. Go to your CPA and tell them you want to setup an LLC or an S-Corp, they can explain the difference (or perhaps someone can comment on this post if they have an opinion.)

5. Track your expenses. MOST of the time early network marketers do NOT do the best job of this but the reality is almost everyone KEEPS more money by simply being in an MLM business than not due to the tax benefits.  Most Important Thing About Your MLM Business

OK, so I guess you get 6 tips in this blog (ok if I over-deliver?) The biggest thing is to understand this post is NOT about your MLM HOBBY…it’s about your MLM business, always, always, treat it like a business and give it the respect it deserves to grow into something huge. This way no one person can EVER make you doubt this industry just like no one person could make you doubt a million dollar business you are building. To your success!

Dude Asked Me, What is Numis Network?

Thursday we traveled to California and while wearing a company shirt a guy asked me, what is Numis Network? For the next couple minutes I shared with him an overview of the company I joined back in July 15th of 2009 and why I was so committed to this company, Listen in on our conversation…

OK, So What is Numis Network?

I asked the gentleman if he had ever heard of network marketing, he replied that his parents had been in Amway and he had been in a couple different companies throughout the years but had never had success. (think there are people out there like that?)

I replied, Imagine if all the time you were ever on autoship for network marketing that instead of getting a consumable or service you instead got a gold or silver coin each month. And whether you had built a business or not, you had amassed a good amount of assets. What if you had filled your garage with assets rather than juice or shakes?

He replied, that’d be pretty cool and he went on to say that one of the reasons he quit his last company is he had compiled box after box of the product in his garage and it just reminded him and his spouse of non-success.

I asked the gentleman what he thought the biggest problem in America was right now. He replied, probably unemployment. I hear this often. Someone struggling to build their business will say, Man, this would really help the people I talk to if they would just listen! Well, reality is you will never get them to listen unless you learn how to listen and understand them.

Last Monday I did a webinar solely devoted to maintaining posture and power and in that I talked about WHY MLM prospects don’t do what they say they will do or what you want them to do. The biggest reason why people are lying to you or not doing what you want them to is this…

They are seeing you as a salesperson, not a problem solver.

What you should REALLY be asking is NOT why won’t they but how can I…that is, How can YOU become a better problem solver.

Last Saturday I did a training in Naples for my team and someone remarked on this topic that “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink”. My response to that was, you can if you salt their food.

Sample Ways to Problem Solve to Boost Your MLM Recruiting

IF someone tells you they will show up to your meeting or watch your video, ask them why. Why are you considering checking this out? Why would you be open to a home business? Why would someone like you say yes to watching a video on making money from home?

You see, people trying to recruit think that the prospect has drawn these conclusions in their mind and the reality is they haven’t because we all have so much going on in our lives. If you get them to stop and actually think about their life and what they would like to have, you, all of a sudden, get upgraded from annoying pesky salesperson to a much needed problem solver.

Lets focus on your immediate past MLM recruiting: Quick, take the last 3 people that told you they were going to show up to a meeting or watch the video that didn’t…did you get them to verbally say WHY they might show up? OK, let me explain…I know I am treading on motivational holy ground here and I don’t want to have you up in an uproar by putting Sir Tony down but have you seen training by Brendon Burchard? If you have been on my list for a few months you recall me going bananas over what I learned from Brendon Burchard and I actually told you I would tell you later after I went through my notes, so, here are my notes from what I learned from Brendon:

1. Have three consistent content patterns that you post content to as often as possible, Google+, Youtube and your blog.

2. Do you know why Apple became the largest company on planet earth? Did you say branding? Nope. Did you say innovative designs? Nope. The single biggest reason they became the behemoth they are is from these three words…Integrated Product Suites. This is why most of us have an iPhone, iPad and an iPod (and now we are getting Apple TV).

3. Your giveaway or the first video people see from you should BLOW THEM AWAY! Give your very best on the stuff that you give away, get people to fall in love with you and your content.

4. Get people to take ownership. You MUST help your target prospects believe that they can do what you are teaching. Keep it simple in your teaching.

5. Do Q and A with your customers. Have them really own your content, training and actually know what to do with it. (this is something we really did well with my Pro Blog Academy)

6. Where are we going? Your clients and those that follow you on your list and blog should know where we are going. What is your purpose and how do those around you fit in while also having ownership in the movement?

7. Perhaps the most important…NO ONE will give you permission to lead your niche, give yourself permission to be the best in your niche, no one will knock at your door and tell you it’s OK. Take it, run with it, Become it.

8. Love this. HARD SHOULD NOT BE BAD!!! When did we become a world of wussies that rely on easy button, get rich quick solutions to our problems? Roll up your sleeves and lets get back to being proud to being a hard worker! Understand that great coaches don’t say it’s OK or point you to the easy button direction, instead they challenge, they push, they DON’T go with the majority, They tell you what you should be doing. Become that coach and you will own your niche.
