Numis Network Just Got a Whole Lot Sweeter

As most of you know, Numis Network is my primary company and a company that I am very grateful to not only be a part of but also to be the #1 income earner in. Numis Network is a gold and silver mlm based out of Tampa, Florida. What I saw with Numis Network is a refreshing product that had never been done before that I don’t think will ever go out of style, doesn’t offend anyone and no one I know has too much of the product. Can You Make Money Following Network Marketing Business Opportunity Jumpers?

Let me paint a scenario for you. A guru contacts you about a network marketing business opportunity, tells you it is the greatest, that this is the last one and that you are going to be rich. Months later, after getting hundreds into that homebased business, the guru re-contacts you, apologizes for that one not working out just to unveil the latest, greatest one that is sure to be the biggest and best ever. So, the question of the hour…Can you make money jumping from network marketing business opportunity to opportunity?

Unfortunately, no, you cannot. But let’s examine why.

Opportunity + Credibility + Your Discipline = Your Success

Every single time you jump to a new opportunity, you hurt your credibility. All the people that you brought into your last company plus all the people you were prospecting by telling them that company was the greatest ever, now will think twice before EVER listening to you ever again. This is a pretty easy to follow formula but let’s get even deeper.

Why Do Leaders Commit MLM Suicide?

Leaders kill their credibility and long term success by having unrealistic duplication goals and telling their leaders unrealistic duplication numbers. Network marketing is a tough business. If you go into one with the idea that you can bring in some people for 3-6 months and then kick back and watch the duplication, you are wrong. As soon as you go into management mode, versus being a leader, your team senses that and they slack off too. The way to get duplication is for YOU to play full out. For you to keep your head down and work your business like you don’t have any reps. That does NOT mean ignoring your existing reps, not at all, but, never going into a “I wonder why I don’t have duplication” mode. If you want to assure to NOT see duplication, start talking about how you are not seeing duplication.

Stop Chasing the Short Term Dollar

Here’s the real problem. Leaders that jump from company to company not only leave behind a broken group of people that had faith in them that but they also continue to recreate their same problem over and over and over. The time and energy it takes to start a whole new company every 6-8 months will prevent them from ever making the real money of network marketing.Why will the problem be any different in the new shiny MLM versus the old one? Like the great Jim Rohn says:

“Don’t wish for things to be easier, wish for you to be better”

The secret that the million dollar earners know is persistence and focus is what makes you the real money. Can jumpers make $10,000 all the way up to $30,000 a month? Sure. For a small period of time. But, they will never, ever see the million dollar mark or the real passive income train that only comes from building a business the right way, over a 2-3 year period. From interviewing many real-life network marketing millionaires, the one trait they have that made them successful was focus. They focused on their company for 24-36 months to create their empire.

10 Reasons a Homebased Business May Beat Having a Job

A friend and associate of mine, Patrick Snow, wrote a book called “Creating Your Own Destiny”. It is a great book that I highly recommend. In the book, Patrick made a list that he called “The Top 10 Reasons Why Your Job Sucks”. I wanted to take time to go through that list and then talk about how a homebased business may beat having a job.

Should Everyone Have a Homebased Business?

I thought I should answer that question. As much as I would like to say yes to that answer, the reality is, having a homebased business is NOT for everyone. If I could sum up one trait that is critical for someone to have success with a homebased business, it would be the desire of something more. That could mean more time freedom, money, adventure, fun, but more. There are lots of people that have fallen into the mass mediocrity of not wanting more and simply accept that their life is what they are going to get. To successfully work from home, Belief in yourself is absolutely critical. That is a BIG difference between working a job where so long as you can do what you are told, you can have some level of success. So, without further adieu, on to the list!

10. Not Enough Vacation Time

Do you really think your life is meant to be structured to only have one to two vacation weeks a year? Have you ever had to miss an important event due to “not having enough vacation time”?

9. No Tax Deductions As An Employee

When you work for someone else, you get virtually no tax benefits. In a book called “Lower Your Taxes” by Sandy Botkin, a former attorney and trainer for the IRS, he makes some powerful statements. In the first sentence and first chapter of the book he suggests you own a homebased business to enjoy the best tax benefits this country has to offer.

8. Unpaid Overtime And Working on Weekends

This is especially true in this economy. Guess what? When the unemployment rate is as high as it is, bosses and owners know that they can expect more out of you without paying you for it. They know there are plenty of people out there that would LOVE to have your job so the majority of bosses out there are asking employees to work longer and harder hours for the same or less pay.

7. Business Travel Away From Your Family

I have never had a job that didn’t ask me to do some traveling. However, I have never had a job consider my significant other and kids. However, compare that with my homebased business that I have won 6 vacations from in the last year, and, every single vacation, they paid for my significant other.

6. Your Daily Commute

You know what the best thing about an alarm clock is? Not having one. I remember getting up, getting ready and jumping in my monkey suit to drive to someone else’s building to work for someone else’s dream, now, my commute is from my bedroom to my kitchen where I usually have my laptop.

5. No Respect and No Job Security

Security is an interesting thing. Some believe that having a homebased business is too risky. By the age of 25 I had worked my way up corporate America as a project manager and then a database administrator. I saw people getting laid off and losing their job, to me, putting my future 100% in the hands of someone else was too risky. I have never had an actual terrible boss but I do remember defining moments in my corporate career where it was made apparent to me that my opinion really did not matter at all. Most people simply want more respect in life, that is something you don’t typically find working for someone else.

4. Too Little Pay and No Ownership

Most people focus on pay. That is not always the best thing to look at but in this economy, people are getting paid less and less to do what they used to do and, like point 8, they are getting asked to do more than ever. The BIGGER point is no ownership. Why would someone work their whole life on something they will never own. When you work a homebased business, not only are you paid in a more tax friendly way, you also have been building an asset that you own. You never see someone work their way up to a vice president level and then sell their position to their brother…that’s because they don’t own anything to sell.

3. Worrying About Being Laid Off

Here’s the reality, 20 of America’s largest corporations have shut down in the last 18 months. I recall one of the first to go was Bear-Stearns. Bear-Stearns was the 4th largest bank in the world, had survived 2 World Wars and the Depression and in the blink of an eye, one Monday Morning, 14,000 unsuspecting employees lost their jobs. Do you know who also lost their job that day? The Employee of the month. It is not always just the crappy employees that lose their jobs.

2. You work With a Bunch of Stiffs

This one doesn’t really apply to me as I have always worked with people that were fun to work with, however, I know a lot of people can resonate with this. However, owning a homebased business means having the power to pick and choose who you work with. In fact, just this morning I told someone that I didn’t think we could work together. Some confuse working a homebased business with trying to work with anybody and everybody and I simply disagree.

1. Your Boss is an “Idiot”

When I worked for other people, I certainly had my share of interesting bosses. One boss I thanked profusely for learning so much from them, I didn’t include the fact that they taught me about everything NOT to do, just simply thanked them for teaching me so much. Here is a quote from Plato that I think sums this up:

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” – Plato

I think this pertains to your business life as well. Refusing to own your own business can doom you to be managed by those that are inferior.

To Develop The Millionaire Mind, Drop These 3 Habits

There’s a whole lot of people out there wishing upon a star that they can become a millionaire. You cannot get there without having the millionaire mind. This blog deals with 3 extremely common things that people do that prevents them from ever having financial abundance.

Bad Habit #1 – No One Wants to Help Me…

This may be the most common thing that I hear from people wanting to have success. It is a rationalization. ANYTIME, and I mean, anytime, you blame your lack of success on ANYONE or ANYTHING outside of yourself, you…will…fail. No one wants to help you? Boo-Hoo. Get over it. YOU are responsible for your success, not only will people NOT help you but there will be people that root AGAINST you! Do you think your friends and family want to see you have monumental success? Of course they do not. If you are to succeed, look in the mirror and you will find the one resource you can count on, IF, you learn to develop the millionaire mind.

Bad Habit #2 – You Don’t Know Where I’ve Been…

Notice Columbus doesn’t say IF you have obstacles and distractions, he gives you the idea that you WILL have them. Anyone who has any level of success has had to go through hell to get there. It is the tough parts of your life that teach you the most. You learn the least when times are plentiful. The problem is, most people have a series or string of bad things happen to them and they decide that their success was just not meant to be. YOU, not your circumstances, are the ONLY thing that can stop you.

Having a tough time in this economy? Congratulations, welcome to the majority. The majority of people around you are going through tough times to, it is how you react to them that will dictate where you end up. IF you concentrate on telling everyone your story of woe, you will NEVER rise above your circumstances. Stop telling your story of how bad things are, I can bet you that the people around you are sick of hearing about it anyway.

Bad Habit #3 – They Don’t Deserve It…

Have you ever been talking to a friend or family member and you share that you admire someone and they quickly say, “yeah, but” and they choose to point out the faults of the person you are admiring? Happens all the time doesn’t it? Most people are so insecure that someone might be ACTUALLY DESERVING of success that instead of being happy for someone, they choose to explain why that person got to where they are or how they gave up some great morality for their success.

Keep this in mind, someone else’s faults has NOTHING TO DO WITH your success. AND, if you choose to keep separating and pointing out the faults in those who have the lifestyle, money or relationship that you desire, you are telling yourself that you do not want what they have and you will never get it. Developing the Millionaire mind means creating a world inside yourself that welcomes abundance. An internal world that pushes you toward your dreams not ridicules those that already have your dream. Be very careful of this bad habit. If you continue to separate yourself from those in abundance, well, you will simply never get to ANY level of abundance.

Video Marketing Concepts For Your Homebased Business

One of the very best ways to market your homebased business is with video. Of all the different advertising I have done to become the #1 income earner in my company, my online videos have helped me recruit the most people. In this blog I will be giving you some video marketing concepts and actually share with you some examples that I have used.

Video Marketing Concepts To Avoid

When I give advice on a strategy, I also try to offer suggestions of what NOT to do as sometimes that is just as helpful as what to actually do. The goal of your videos, ESPECIALLY when new, is to raise curiosity and interest, not close people. Too often I see a new marketer create their first videos urging people to go to their site and just sign up with their homebased business. The best advice I can give you is when thinking of video marketing concepts, focus on generating interest and curiosity, not trying to video close someone.

Video Marketing Concepts – Example #1

When I joined my homebased business, I created the below video. This video has probably, to date, helped me recruit more people that any other marketing resource I have ever used. Check out this video and then we will break it down.

I start it out by telling you who I am and then what the company I am representing is not. Never forget to introduce yourself even if you only plan on using this video on your website or facebook. You never know who might stumble upon your video and if you don’t introduce yourself, some people will not be able to focus on what you are saying as they will be too caught up wondering who the heck you are, very basic concept, I know, but, important to bring up.

Notice the emotion level, very high, upbeat and positive. I even bring up some common objections about our company. This is something you can do too. If you several people bring up the same objection, cover it in a video, it will also help your team that you build or have built. I even talked about some of the other options in a homebased business but didn’t show labels or mention names. You want to be careful talking about another company in your videos.

I then talk about how I have been in a different homebased business many times, a lot of people have. I typically target existing network marketers rather than employees. I then tell people to visit my website if they have any type of interest and also tell them that it isn’t for everyone. I don’t tell them to join my team and get involved right away, I raise curiosity.

Video Marketing Concepts – Example #2

Now, this is a more recent video. This is a video I created one I had become the #1 income earner and the top ranked rep in my company. There are some subtle differences. Watch the below video, then we will break it down.

So, I introduce myself right away. As I am using a prop (the car I won) I didn’t feel the need to go into anything but what the video was about versus the first video where I talked about what the viewer may be thinking. I used a lot more past talk than future talk. The first video talked about what it was and what I was going to do, this one talks about what has been done. Notice the transition when I say, “Here we are, 12 months later”, I actually lean against the car. This is a great physical transition to make that you can use in your video marketing concepts. When you want to change gears in a video, change your physical stance. I talk about my accomplishments (again, not future talk) and then I discuss one thing that separates a lot of the companies from this one in it’s internet friendly stance. Then I instruct you to get with the person that invited you to watch this video, making it a team friendly video. Once you get good at creating videos, which, comes with practice, you would do yourself well to create team friendly videos that everyone can use.

One note about both of these videos. I did NOT do one minute of video editing on these videos. You can be a master marketer without being an expert video editor. I see some people trying to build their homebased business by first studying every book on video editing, that, while a cool skill, is certainly not necessary to make a great living as a video marketer!

Beginner Advice: Baby Steps!

There is a great book out there called “Life is a series of presentations” by Tony Jeary. In the book Tony suggests as you go through your day, make an effort to think about events that you have seen or heard that would make good stories when speaking in front of groups. This is also a great tip for videos. You can use a story in your everyday life to illustrate why you want more freedom or why someone might consider a homebased business. This economy is full of stories like that. But the biggest advice of all, is just start creating videos. Just like you cannot learn to fly a plane by reading books or studying materials, at some point, you just have to DO IT!

What’s Truly the Easiest Homebased Business To Build?

Here is what I see going on RIGHT NOW. Opportunity seekers research to find a good company. Then they search for a good leader to sign up with. They are convinced it is the best homebased business they have ever come across. Work it a few weeks doing it their own way instead of listening to the leader, get frustrated and then look for an easier network marketing business opportunity to work. So, what is the easiest homebased business to build?

Terrible Question

First of all, I think that is a terrible question. When you were little and someone asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up, did you conjure up what you thought was the easiest job out there and reply with that option? NO. You had dreams, you had plans, and you wanted to do what you wanted to do. So what the hell happened?

“People continuously avoid success by constantly looking for “what’s easier”. You can “what’s easy” yourself to the poorhouse. Determine what you want and be willing to do whatever the hell it takes to accomplish it” – Ray Higdon

For Opportunity Seekers, “What’s Easy” is a Bad Downward Spiral

I have seen this firsthand. For people to generate a serious income in a homebased business, you have to have customers and representatives spending money. That does make sense, doesn’t it? Without people spending money on your products, income cannot be generated. I see people everyday get into a good homebased business that costs anywhere from $500-$1,000 to get started, try it for a couple weeks or months, decide it is too hard (rather than trying to get better) and go to a network marketing business opportunity that is half or even less the price. Then, they try to get people that signed up in the old company (usually with someone else) to sign up into this new homebased business by bashing their old company due to it’s higher price. Think about it. Aren’t the only people you are going to attract going to be slackers and people who quit that same old company? Is that the type of community you want to create in a homebased business?

Then They Typically Go to What’s Even Easier!

After failing at the higher priced network marketing business opportunity by giving up rather than getting better…wait, that reminds me of a Jim Rohn Quote…

Our troubled opportunity seekers look for what’s even easier! I know, a network marketing business opportunity that is TOTALLY FREE to join would be perfect! Surely they can build that! And now, at this exact point, they have fallen into the annoying, jumping, stereotypical network marketer. They have crushed their warm market with 3 different companies in under 5 months. They have based one company to try to build another, then, based both of them to try to build the free option, which, barely pays anything because no one is spending money and they decide that they just don’t have what it takes to build a homebased business. And, they quit.

Why Did They Even Get Into That First Network Marketing Business Opportunity?

People want to build a homebased business if they are worried about their income or job and want to have additional money coming in or maybe they want to completely change their lifestyle. They get re-connected with that kid inside them that says they can be whoever or whatever they want, but, a lot let society, friends, family and people they don’t even know take away their power as they give in to the people that tell them they are stupid or cannot do it. They they go down the easy path which is the the fast track to failing in a network marketing business opportunity.

So, what SHOULD you do?

Never lose sight of your dreams. Know that anything worth achieving is typically not easy and you will have to roll your sleeves up and go to work. Work on getting better every single day and let others telling you it cannot be done fuel you to prove them wrong. If you don’t believe in you, why the hell should anyone else? This quote sums it up nicely…

Should You Do Local Events For Your Network Marketing Business Opportunity?

With the advance of technology and the Internet, should you bother doing local events for your network marketing business opportunity? Can’t you pretty much do it all online without having to lug around a computer and possibly a projector? Is the usefullness of belly-to-belly presentations and meetings dead in network marketing?

As an Online marketer I get those questions often. I should make a correction though. I am an online marketer, but, I am also an offline marketer, I like to consider myself something of a hybrid. Some of you may have seen my page online called http://www.NoHomeMeetings.com and perhaps you thought that meant I was against home meetings. That actually isn’t the case, that page shows an online way to get more leads and hence, for that page, I don’t do home meetings but that doesn’t mean I don’t do physical meetings for my network marketing business opportunity. Let’s examine why I think you are missing out on the biggest income piece of mlm if you are NOT doing any physical meetings.

Network Marketing, unlike Sales, is not Addition, it’s Multiplication

People ask me if network marketing is hard, I say yes, but, unlike a job or sales, it is something that you at least have the capacity to work very hard for a few years and get paid the rest of your life. Earlier in the year I did a blog on my buddy Dave who stopped working his network marketing business opportunity 22 years ago and still gets a nice monthly check from that company. As you can agree, that is not very likely from a job. Network marketing works well if you focus on helping others get paid (which, also gets YOU paid!).

Start Fires For Long-Term Growth

I like working backwards. If you have a big goal, act like you are where you want to be and then decide what that would look like and work your way there. What would a million dollar a year earner in a network marketing business opportunity look like? Better yet, what would their organization look like? I think it would look like concentrated fires around the globe. You would have pockets in certain cities where groups would gather and do presentations wouldn’t you? There has never been a network marketing company that did over a billion dollars that didn’t have physical meetings. But, groups have to start somewhere.

What if you are in an area where there are no Meetings?

Then definitely give up, quit and go home and cry to momma. Now, you KNOW that is not my REAL answer! My suggestion would be, lace up your boots, and START DOING THEM! Some think that it’s about having a superstar visit their town and that is what will make their team take off, which, is actually not true for two reasons. (1) Leaders will not want to visit places that do not have at least some momentum or growth in an area. I tell people in my team that once they have 20-30 on autoship in their area, I will come over to their area. (2) Meetings grow, not by chance, but by consistency. Consistently holding meetings and getting over the hump of when you are NOT having very many people show up, will reward you greatly, but, only if you stick with them.

Should I NOT use the Internet?

That is certainly not what I am saying at all. I use the Internet daily to prospect and invite people to meetings. However, understand that network marketing is a relationship business and the Internet is a great tool to create more relationships and prospect, however, if you want that closer connection, physical meetings will build a sense of community.

Why is Community important?

It is extremely important. Having a sense of community is a relief from all the negative crap out there in the world. That is one of the main reasons I prefer network marketing to jobs or having a stand-alone business. In corporate America, very few if anyone is truly rooting for you. Why? Because they want to cover their own butts and worry about putting food on their table. Most believe in scarcity in that if you get the raise, they are missing out. Network marketing is a community where everyone wants everyone else to do better and actually truly work together to make that happen. You can be the newest person in the team and have direct access to the top income earner in the company, again, quite unlike corporate America.

Do Meetings in Your Area, if, You are Truly Hungry

Meetings have historically proven to be the most easily duplicated way of building a network marketing business opportunity. Now, some clever marketers have told us to NOT talk to our friends and family members and lose our friends, etc, but, here is what you really should understand. There are over 100,000 people that join a network marketing company per week. Every single one of them knew people, meaning, they were in SOMEONE’S warm market. And, they would have preferred to join with someone they knew than someone they didn’t. If you don’t want to talk to your warm market, don’t worry, someone else will
